- + Большие цифры, подсветка, отличная функциональность.
- - Очень ярко моргает отдельной лампочкой при температуре наружного воздуха...
- + Красвый, большие цифры.
- - При минус 22 на улице, перестаёт показывать температуру .
I bought it for an alarm clock.
The weather inside and outside is fairly accurate
The only problem is that it can't seem to get the atomic time.
The solar panel tester button doesn't seem to work. In spite of this I will use it.
I give it 4 stars..
First, I needed to replace my THC268 outdoor sensor for another device. Buying just that sensor at Amazon (the cheapest place I could find a new one) was $22.95. THIS entire unit with the THC268 sensor was $19.95. If I threw the rest away, it's still a bargain.
Yet it works just fine. That solar powered battery charger is a great bonus. You can't find one of those for under $20. How about an Atomic Clock? Those are at least $20 too! That's without a thermometer. Oh, and it comes with batteries, including a pair of NiMH rechargeables.
This is a probably one close-out bargain and I'm glad I got in on this deal while it was available. I'd buy more but I just don't have anywhere to put them. I have other Oregon Scientific thermometers already and the new sensor that came with this one is sending all them one fine signal! Twenty bucks for the RMR331ES is an incredible deal.
would not recommend to buy, look for a new version .
Only works with the included sensor for the PC interface even though it will display from other sensors.
Only supports 1 channel.
I also found that the Seattle/Tacoma area was not listed in the Cities configuration for the software, so the weather information and forecast were not being displayed on my device. According to the Cities List on the support page ([...]/) the Seattle/Tacoma area should have been an option. It was not, in either version of the software.
I had to edit the cities.ini file, and manually configure the City and StationID information with the appropriate information to get the Seattle/Tacoma/Bremerton area forecast to display. (The directory that contains all of the files is set to "read-only" by the software installer, so you will need to make the appropriate changes to allow the modification to the cities.ini file).
Now, I will say that these are quite unreasonable steps to take in order to get this system to work, and that you shouldn't have to hack the software in this way just to get the stupid thing to do what it was designed to do.
However, the purpose of this is to demonstrate that it can be done, and what is needed to get it done.
