I cannot say enough about the Optimus Tracker and the magnetic case. I live in Mexico and it woks perfectly, right out of the box. This thing is easy to set up, easy to use and most importantly, easy to track whatever you are tracking. I put it on the wife's car and she didn't use the car for days. I had set up alerts for motion and a geo fence. I was at work and all of a sudden my computer and my phone started going off telling me the tracker was moving. The tracking software that uses Google maps showed me all her stops and exactly where she was. I tracked her car in real time with my phone and caught her cheating. This tracker will not fall off of the car and it has great GPS signal from under the car. The battery lasts at least a week. This tracker does everything the seller says it does and more, VERY WELL! I will have many uses for this tracker and will most certainly buy more.

*Update 8/22/19* So the battery lasted 13 days down to 30% without the move alerts on. It would’ve went over the two weeks but I decided to charge it when I had the opportunity. So battery life is great without the move alerts on. I’m going to leave this at four stars because on a very cloudy day and rain storm the device thought it hadn’t left the driveway for half a day. Still worth the value and if it was a bit more accurate it could be a five star device.
I like it so far. After fully charging which didn’t seem long I activated the device online. People have to be patient because I read some reviews saying it didn’t connect once they activated. I don’t believe they’re experienced with real gps units, I’m not a pro but I have a couple handhelds like garmin units. These cool units need a few minutes to settle in and communicate with the satellites once activated. I followed the instructions, went outside and guess what? I only needed to restart it again for it to start catching a signal and bam it’s on.
Just as advertised, if you use 30 sec updates you’ll drain the battery quicker but it shows a more detailed route. Personal tip: I have motion alerts turned off and usually have it on 3 minute updates. It’s inside the magnetic case on the very bottom of a sedan and shows a consistent 86-100% gps signal. It’s also on day four of use and just went down to 90% battery. The battery tip is if you don’t need motion alerts, seriously it is easy to view the map so often and see if the object is stationary or moving, than turn the motion alert off. I think that’s what’s draining people’s batteries.
The inaccurate lines you see is just a simple software connecting dots from the spread out intervals as the device reports. If you need absolute streets every single time maybe hook up an external battery and keep it to 30 seconds. Three minute updates are providing good enough info that you can figure it out where the device is moving.
The gps unit also is staying true to the description by saving battery in a standby mode when parked. I like the option of the google maps view so take your time, like 5 minutes, to learn the symbols on the app. It’s very user friendly. The desktop has a broader interface but both are fine. You can also send instructions such as changing the reporting intervals from the app which is also useful.
All in all if this unit can stretch to 10-14 days per charge the way I’m using it, I’ll return and give it five stars. If it needs to be outside of the car hidden I like the durable magnetic case but read the instructions because it states not to place in the wheel well, exhaust and so on. It’s solid and two strong magnets as promised. I might buy a slim lanyard and putty it to another neodymium magnet just for extra security if something kicked up and knocked it off but honestly it’s overkill I don’t think it’s moving once secured. The case has a small area to slide a metal lanyard through if you wanted to do that. 6-12 inch I think 1/8 metal lanyard is about .50 at the big orange store. The loop clip for it is another $1-2. The magnets are available at a craft store. Again, it seems to be working as promised and on par for a 5 star from me if it lasts. The subscription is affordable and obviously required for the unit. I can’t stand people that don’t know how to read or don’t research what they’re purchasing. Thumbs up so far!

Took a chance on the Optimus 2.0 gps device bundled with the small magnetic case, and I added the extended battery pack for additional 95.00 on Amazon. I have to say I am thoroughly impressed with the build quality of the unit and the cases. Both are pretty robust and the power switch requires a hard long press to turn on and off so there is zero chance of power accidentally shutting off. The software and the app are VERY well developed and thought out. The software allows you to generate drive reports showing places parked including dates and time. Can change the rate of refresh of the device from 10 minutes to 30 seconds easily with the app. There’s so much good to talk about with this unit and software I am no going to mention it all here, but for the price this is an excellent value. I’m using this on a professional level and it has been functioning perfectly for over a week and battery level is still hovering around 90%. No loss of signal and positioning has been very accurate to within 20 to 30 feet.

A great buy for the price. The battery lasts a good week as long as you are not constantly checking on it. Set up alerts on your phone for movement alerts and then you will know when you need to check it. Waterproof and it stayed on through torrential downpours. So incredibly accurate and the $20 a month charge to register and track is so worth it if you are needing to track someone or something. I can say...with the $60 tracker and 2 months of monitoring services for a total of $100 i was able to find out why my BF was causing me so much anxiety and that he had been lying to me and cheating..>Girls or Men - if you are in the same boat - I highly recommend this!

This product does NOT do as described. It does NOT track in realtime. It has a delay and it is NOT reliable on location. The battery life SUCKS

It seems to work as advertised. I get 1-minute updates. The GPS shows it going off road at times but pretty close. I know that my Mustang isn't going off-roading lol. EDIT: The battery doesn't last more than 5 days which is a bummer because if you're trying to use this tracker in secret, then you have to come up with excuses to get to the car, grab it, the time to charge it and THEN replace the tracker. That part stinks!

So I called a private investigator because I was pretty sure my husband was cheating. He explained that they would put a tracker on my husband’s car. They could put some manpower on him to take pictures too but that was going to cost over $850. I figured I could start with the tracker by myself and go the PI route if needed.
Received the tracker, fully charged it and signed up for the $19.95 monthly tracking service. I added the app to my phone and hid the box with strong magnets under the passenger seat of his car. That was Tuesday, hubby seemed to cheat on Wednesday since he was off from work and I was at work. I was able to figure out the reports and how the tracking stuff worked on Tuesday night. So Wednesday morning I got a email alert that hubby’s car was on the move. When I realized he was headed to the location where I thought he was hooking up, I hopped in the car and hit the tracking map feature. I was a half an hour away but arrived saw his car, parked behind him in the parking lot. He walked out and was shocked to see me standing there.
Be prepared to have your life changed - I didn’t want this to happen but I needed to know the truth. Tracker did the job and even after two days it still has 88% battery life!

Wow, Optimus tracker was so easy to set up, so easy to use, so easy to read on the app. I am not a tech savvy person and I was able to do it all. And thanks to Optimus, we saved my marriage. I was able to see the secret addictive behaviors my husband was involved in and I was able to get him help. He was too ashamed to tell me himself. Had I not had Optimus to help me, I would have never known how to help him. Their plan is very affordable with no commitment period. Get it!

Tracker is easy to set up and use. Multiple configurations and alert setting available. Android app works great. Battery life at my settings is about 10 days before recharge. The case that comes as part of this bundle is weatherproof and has 2 magnets that are so strong it's hard to get the box off the truck. Oprimus Customer service is outstanding. The thing I didn't know is that the charging cable is specific for these devices. They look like a normal cell charging port, but they are not. I screwed up and tried to use a cell charger to charge the tracker and broke the charging connection inside the tracker. When I called Optimus to purchase a new one, they sent me one for free even though it was my fault. I like this product and company so much I bought a second one.

Maybe it's just because it got to freezing temps, but it seems to drain just sitting in the garage. Fully charged when put in and set to 3 min pulses and it drops within 2 days and shows it moving at 75 mph at 70% battery life and poof it stops showing anything. Then when I take it out it shows it is still on but not showing anything until the next day. Safely secured within the magnetic battery case. It just doesnt make sense. Purchased in Oct and just started using it in Jan 8th and had to charge it 3 times it being the 15th today. I can only hope it's just the cold weather affecting it, but I would expect it to have a battery life of at least a cell phone. Especially when it is fully charged and sitting still <off supposedly> in the garage. The page for it is even giving different readings between the numbers and the graph section. That or it is doing 6 mph in my 3 car garage currently.

This is the smartest buy I’ve ever made. I did sooooo much research and was still hesitant buying this. It works and gets a signal in places my phone doesn’t. With the case it’s impossible to detect. The battery life is forever and it continues to work perfectly even with 3% battery life. Only down side is the delay. It’s got up to a 30-60 sec delay even if only 1-3 miles from it.

I purchased this for my wife's car as she had a 65 mile trip each day to and from work over a very rural two lane road. Since there was a cell phone dead zone on her route it seemed a good idea to have someway to know where she was in the event of a problem.
Well, about 2 weeks after receiving this tracker she was driving to work and a problem arose. I had set up the geofences for her route and knew where she would be, particularly in the dead zone. I knew how long it would it took her to pass through the dead zone and also had an alert set up should her vehicle have no movement for 15 min.
On January 28th, she was driving to work on her normal route. I was alerted she had entered the deadzone, however, 30 min later I had not received an alert she was out of the deadzone. I tried to reach her on her cell phone with no luck. So, I took off to where the device said she was located. I found my wife and her car on the side of the road, she had been involved in an accident and because of the deadzone she was unable to reach me by phone.
The device did exactly what it was supposed to do and we both are very thankful. Cannot recommend this device highly enough.

I was told this tracking Device was voted number one on the best product. But, After two days of using this tracker. It did not give accuracy movements and looking at the red lines you can see the tracker might be defective. I also added screenshots showing from this company YouTube page what it’s supposed to look like when the car is moving. I have reached out to this company they stated that I should give it a second day and it should work. After 3 months this tracker is defective 😤😤I’m very disappointed ☹️

When you stop to think about what this is doing, it's absolutely amazing. It picks up your location using GPS satellites, converts it to a street address, and then turns around and sends you information via the internet and/or cell phone network. When you want to know where your new young driver really is, you can track her movements. You can get messages when the car moves, when it exceeds a speed you set, and when it goes outside the boundaries you set. Information arrives reliably as text messages and as notifications from the Optimus IOS app. History is available on the Optimus web site - they say for thirty days, I haven't had my tracker that long.
The magnetic case is absolutely worth it! Perfect fit and good strong magnets to stick to the car.

My intuition led me to get this. I used it for about a week. Nothing unusual from a spouse. After feeling guilty and wanting to stop using it on the very last day it gave me all of the information that I needed.
The tracker is super accurate. Battery lasted about a week on 10 minute intervals. I really don’t think you need it set any shorter.
The website crashed or system crashed for a few hours once. I emailed tech support and they got right back to me.
If you’re like me and need to just know. Get this. It works.

I had a trailer stolen from my driveway. Ever since, I have stepped up the surveillance on my assets. Currently, I have 2 of these units for my vehicles, going to be adding a 3rd and 4th for my other stuff. Battery life is okay, but not awesome, although since they are rechargeable via USB cable (included), I can plug it in the car that it is tracking, works fine. I would like the option to get an email on 'battery low'. Also, it's $19.95/mo for EACH. You can't add devices to your plan, they charge you separately for each, which is dumb. Tech support said that once I hit 3, they all drop to $14.95/mo, which I guess will work. Had them for about 2 weeks now, will update this review if anything changes. All in all, good product and works as advertised. Their website is responsive. Future google map integration would be great.

I’ve never had to use tech support so I’m unsure how well this works. However, since this product works so well WHO NEEDS TECH SUPPORT!? you pay a monthly subscription fee of around 19.95 I believe. The battery lasts me around two to three weeks. It notifies me exactly where it is, when it left when it is moving how fast it is moving what direction it is heading and if it goes into a restricted area(that I created) it notifies me STAT. Hellllll yeah it doesn’t get any better than this little gem! You can put the Gps device inside the magnet case and it hangs on for dear life!!!! It won’t fall off! It notifies you when battery life is low as well.... love this mighty beast!

This is by far the best company to purchase any tracker from. I could go on and on about how wonderful the mechanics are and how easy it is to use but I want to swear by their customer service alone.
Let me tell you my story.
I got into a bit of ruffle and unfortunately my GPS tracker/casing fell off of my vehicle. I figured, well darn, I paid a whole year in advance for this thing and now it's gone. I felt really bummed out because I bought it due to someone stealing my vehicle 3 months prior to my purchase.
So there I was, living in St. Louis, MO feeling really unprotected without my tracker. Then I remember purchasing a warranty for it so I called them up. They told me that the warranty doesn't cover if it gets lost or stolen but since I was a loyal customer under the circumstances I was in, that he would make an exception. Coolest thing ever, he gave me a replacement tracker and casing. Delivery time only took 2 days during these pandemic times too. I couldn't be anymore happier with what a wonderful company this is.
Most companies aren't like Optimus these days. They have a truly dependable product and great backing that you can stand by.
Buy from someone who cares about you. Buy from Optimus.

Bought the tracker and magnetic case. Stays on the underside of the car fine and tried it in the back where the spare tire is kept. Worked both locations fine. Not 100% accuracy as far as locations. With a lot of travel the map can get difficult to read because of all the lines crisscrossing the map. Does not always show when the car was stopped for several minutes (which may be good if it was stopped in traffic, for instance). Not hard to use the web interface, but it is not as robust as I would have liked. The data is not as useful as I'd like. Lacks details. Map keeps jumping back to original size when I'm trying to move it around and view the routes travelled and that is frustrating. I have only used it for about 8 days so will see how things go in the long term. Does help me feel more secure about my loved one who needs a bit of extra help these days remembering locations and routes.

We got this after doing a bunch of research on trackers. We needed to track our extra car we lent to one of our adult childern. It was amazing on how we were able to see all the places he would go, park, etc. After he ran it out of gas, and basically abandoned it in a parking lot we were able to recover it. The biggest complaint we have is the battery life, it would last about 3 to 4 days on a charge. So what i did was take it out of the box, got a used mini USB cable and a lighter plug adaptor, hard wired it into the radio circuit, and mounted it under the dash. Now it will always charge and report it's location. Their web site and Android app is easy to use once you get logged into you account. They use Google maps, so it is accurate. Would I recommend this, yes. I've talked with a few friends and they were impressed with it and are going to pick one up. It's small enough to put in a bag, backpack, pocket of a jacket, etc, so if you needed to track your kids, or ageing parents. Setup of the monthly billing was easy on their web site. I did have a few questions, used their live chat, and they were answered quick and professionally.

It’s a drag climbing under the car for the weekly removal for charging it, however. And I hate that it’s not working for me while I wait for opportunity to put back on car. I own the car so it’s perfectly legal! So I intend to get extended battery. Soon.

I did not use the magnetic case, in the event the tracker may fall off when on the outside (but I did not test the magnetic case);
Battery runs about 8% per day, so gives about 8 or 9 days before needing to be swapped out and recharged;
The only quirky thing is that while you are scrolling about the map, it always jumps back to location of the tracker, when you dont want it too,,
At night when tracker is parked, the software shows the tracker wandering (when I know the car is not moving),
The app version the tracking lines go under highways--so that needs to be fixed,

I have used other gps trackers for vehicles and this one is by far the best product and for the price of the bundle. I use to have to spend almost $120 per device and then you would have to by the case separate and the cases that I would get the magnets would break off or just not strong enough. this case is strong and weather proof and gps is almost about a good 10 to 15 feet from where it says it is on the map. could use a little work on the drift when parked but that is common with most gps.. to get the 10 second pings you have to let customer service know you want it and I don't know if any one else will need it but I use these to track vehicles we need to find if tow truck is not available to get down the road at anytime.
