I couldn't believe it, but it seems to be true because another user had the same problem. Unfortunately, I ordered this product to stock and did not find out about it until much later and could not return it. I do not think it is a broken sensor. I replaced a color cartridge also and it was noticably heavier.

I finally retired my 18 year old HP Laserjet 6MP. It still works, but the network printer box that I've been using with it is broken and my new computer does not have a parallel port on the back. The review on CNET for the OKI B411DN was very positive which led me to choose this printer. It was a true plug and play on my network. After attaching the cords and turning it on, my computer detected the printer on the network right away. I loaded the drivers from the included disk, and began printing. The speed and quality of the new OKI are many times better than my old 6MP workhorse. I'm very happy with it. It also has a smaller footprint and is lighter in weight than my old printer. Can you believe I paid over $1000 for that 6MP 18 years ago! I probably can't even give it away now.

I bought the B411DN model of this printer 3 weeks ago for my home network, selected the free shipping option and it arrived within 3 business days. Setup was pretty straightforward, although some of the Oki instructions were a bit out of order. One has to install the software from the enclosed CD before driving some of the setup function, but otherwise no problems. I have 3 PCs to connect, and elected to use the Oki website installer from each. This worked without a hitch.We've used the printer quite a bit since then without any glitches or hitches. Its been all text and forms so far, and the print quality seems very good. I haven't actually clocked the speed, but its much faster than the companion ink jet printer we use, and I can believe the advertised 35 ppm for text. Time to print start for a network driven job appears to be between 5-10 seconds, but once it starts it chugs along pretty quickly.We leave it always powered on, although 60 seconds or so after power on (or after print job completes) it falls back into power saver mode, the silence of which leads me to believe it isn't sucking up any watts of significance. If the advertised pages per cartridge holds up, then this will likely turn out to be far more economical than the ink jet.Overall, I'd say this is a very good monochrome printer. Purchase price was, in my view, a pretty good deal given the performance, economy and good reviews on various websites.

I have used Oki printers for many years and have found them to be very solid performers. This printer certainly fits with the rest of them that I have had. Setup is very easy and I have it installed on computers running both XP and Windows 7. The nicest feature that this printer has that my old ones didn't is the ability to print on both sides of the paper automatically. Startup is quicker and print quality is excellent.I would have given this printer a 5 star rating except for the fact that the toner is much more expensive for it than the older model 4250 that it replaced.

Purchase this printer for one of our engineers who prints an incredible amount of drawings each week. It has excellent print capabilities and the feed system works great.

Purchased this Printer for my wife a few months ago and have had no issues with it at all. It is a little bit loud for the home but we came into this expecting that.

I purchased this printer as my old Okidata had finally given up the ghost after twenty years of service. I was looking for a good, reliable printer at a good price and that's what I got. I have it connected to my other computers via router and it works great that, though I had some problems at first as it seemed to keep changing address, but I got that sorted out. It seems to want to be started before my computer is turned on (although that is probably more an issue with my computer than the printer). The print is excellent quality, and though it is classified as a laser printer it is not it uses LED or LCD (i forget off hand) and uses less power. Best feature is two sided printing, I use it all the time to save paper. Select it in properties and that's it. Great value.

We bought this printer specifically to print a bunch of paper goods for our October, 2010 wedding. We were printing programs, maps, welcome letters, etc. for approximately 100 guests and the printer performed wonderfully. The speed is good, though at times it seems to 'warm up' for a REALLY long time before it gets moving.

I ordered 2 black OKI toners and rec'd just what I ordered ... and in a few days. Excellent product and excellent service.

I have never written a review on amazon but after seeing this printer had no reviews I had to let you guys know what a beast this thing is. I have been looking for a printer with a 90's style in simplicity but a 2011 style of power. This thing is exactly that. Super easy to set up because of its simple drivers and the most powerful beast I have ever owned. It CRANKS OUT PAGES and they still have a very great quality! Item received was 3rd-party generic rather than the OEM specified and pictured in the listing. Okidata product is 5 stars. I have no idea how good these generics are yet, so 3 stars giving them the benefit of a doubt.

This printer is a great printer. The only issue I had was when removing it from the packaging, there were no directions that say what to do. Only picture directions. I'm guessing because of the many different languages they would have to print on there. It comes with a CD-ROM for the manual, yet again, no words on paper in your hand.All in all, it was an easy printer to set up. This printer is set up on our network so we attached a print server to it with no issues.

I have four of these that we use in our business. The print quality is pretty good, and it's easy to use. One of the problems is the paper tray is relatively small. You have to buy an extra paper tray to get a good sized tray, and it's almost as expensive as the printer itself. The network card costs almost as much as the printer, as well. The toner seems to last quite a while, but it too is expensive. The drum costs quite a bit as well. I had one recently give out after about 3 1/2 years of use. Everyone says the fuser is probably what is wrong with it, but parts and labor make it almost as expensive as a new one, because the printer is difficult to take apart, from what I understand.Update: since our last review I've had problems with the replacement. I don't know if it has to do with the pre-printed invoices we use or the printer itself. It will jam sometimes if the printer prints to the front, not if you print to the rear. We exchanged it once and the new one did the same thing. Our old printers didn't do this, even though they were the same model and everything.

Otherwise I expect this printer to be very productive and to have a low cost of operation. I'll add more later after I get a print spooler (looking at TRENDnet 3-Port Print Server TE100-P21 (Blue)).

If you like OKIDATA printers this one is really nice. The network set up easily and the duplexing is quick. Print quality is fine and it shuts down quickly between jobs and restarts quickly when a print job is sent

This printer is excellent! Fast (even with duplexing), energy efficient, and sleek in design. LED technology is similar to Laser technology but more energy efficient (meaning less heat and curling) and less moveable parts which means longer lasting. And Oki is the innovator in this area. I was so tired of replacing color cartridges on my HP inkjet when all I do is print B/W for the most part. The B411 also seems extremely well built. Overall I am very pleased!

Our old reliable Oki Data printer finally gave up the ghost, so the natural reaction was to get another one. We are on our forth one in 10 years, and they are totally "abused" in our office. This one, so far, has lived up to it's predecessors reputation, and unless this one proves otherwise, we'll definitely keep on getting these machines.

Firstly, I think this printer is the best in the similar prices.Good point: Quick printing, not so big size, no problem with Mac Os.Worse point: PDF Speed, Duplex, Printer Driver, Noise, Setting.I comment only worse point.Firstly, this the speed of printing PDF is very slow.I do not reason (probably due to the shortage of memory of printer).The speed is really irritating me. But other type of files are no problem, very fast.I found the one solution. It is to choose the option "Print as Image".Then, we can print as same as other files.Nextly, due to old printer driver,we can not set the details of print such as amount of inks.I mean that we can not choose the normal or safe mode for the consumption of inkBut if you do not care about this, no problemNoise is a little bit problem. But may be not so much.Again, this printer is really good and cost performance is really nice.But you have to choose the option for pdf printing each time,and you can not choose and adjust the consumption of ink due to too simple printer driver.My conclusion is this is the best for people who just wants good laser-printingand do not care about the detail setting.

First of all, I am student and am constantly printing off all sorts of stuff for school. I had a color HP inkjet all-in-one that worked well, except for the fact that ink printers smear and the replacement ink is so expensive. I stumbled upon this printer and found a way good deal, so I bought it. When it arrived, I hooked it up to my computer (yes, I have a Mac) and at first had a bit of trouble installing the driver. I finally figured out that the easiest way was to download the driver from the Oki website.After that, I starting printing like an office supply nerd in Kinkos! It does everything that I need it to. It prints pictures with decent resolution. It prints text wonderfully. It is silent when not in use, and quiet when it is warming up/cooling down. This printer is wicked fast (as compared to inkjet) and the start up time is excellent as well. The toner capacity (thus far) is great. I have printed 800-1000 pages and we're still plugging away (with the toner that came with the printer!) I'm already saving money on ink/toner. It prints many different sizes/styles of paper (including envelope and card stock)Now for the criticisms of the printer. It does not duplex (both sides) automatically. I don't have a lot of extra time to manually duplex, so I end up using double the paper I would have if auto-duplex was an option. Another major criticism that I have, is that it does not do a great job with labels. I bought some mailing labels for laser printers and the toner seems to wipe off the labels after they're printed. Who knows, I may have a setting wrong, but this seems weird.Other than that this printer is perfect for what I need to do.

The laser printer was in great shape, with a very low page count, it was almost as good as new. I am very pleased with my purchase and would definetly use them again!

I've been using this toner cartridge for several years, and I've never had a problem. These are great, and Amazon consistently has some of the cheapest prices I've found anywhere.Beware of "compatible" toner cartridges, which could have inferior performance. These right here are the real thing, and these are what I trust!

This is my 5th Okidata mono laser printer. It's cost was only a little more than the cost to replace the drum of my old Okidata 4250 which did not have the LED screen. It works perfectly. Only con so far is the higher cost of toner.
