These tires are nice but for some reason the tire would seat right on the back rim of my bike and the tube would pinch. I tried 4 times replacing the tubes until I bought a solid wire tire and they fit fine with no problem with the tubes.
I have purchased four of these tires to make sure first two weren’t faulty from factory but found all have very thin rolling surface and side walls. If this tire had a protective lining it would be great tire but the short life span makes for sub par experience especially at the $100 a pair price tag.
I purchased these tires for commuting on my hard tail 29er mountain bike about 100 miles a week. I used these tires with Mr Tuffy Tier Liners & Green Slime tube sealant & have been running them at 45 PSI.
Over the past three months I've put right at 1,000 miles of riding on them, mostly on highway emergency lanes, city sidewalks and a few hard packed trails and grassy shoulders.
I've had 3 or 4 punctures that required the removal of small pieces of steel wire & reinflating the tires that were no big deal. But after about 5 weeks of daily riding I had a blowout in the rear tire that resulted in a long hike-a-bike to work. I patched the tire, replaced the tube & sealant and tried to make due with it for a while. A couple of weeks later I had another flat and another gash in the rear tire. I patched the new hole and move my rear tire to the front.
I've lost all confidence in these tires and their ability to get me back and forth to work safely. I've ordered set of Marathon tires to replace these. I'll probably keep the one good tire as an emergency back up. These may be great tires for you but they have let me down.

Wenig Rollwiederstand gute Straßenlage
Sehr guter Reifen für die Straße , mit den Reifen lässt es sich deutlich leichtgängiger und schneller fahren. Hab sie auf meine 29er MTB montiert. Klare Kaufempfehlung
I have a Trek X-Caliber that I use mostly on paved trails, and while the old tires (Bontrager XR2) where great off road and in the rough, I knew I could do better (and faster) for where I ride the bike. After a little bit of research, the Maxxis Torch seem to fit the needs. 300+ miles later (80-90% on paved trails), I am very happy with them. Easy to put on, it took a couple of rides to get used to them and find the right tire pressure (around 40PSI). So far, they feel much faster than the XR2s, they are good on corners, good on grass, seem a bit slow(er) on wet pavement, do good off road (have not experienced any loss in performance for where I use them) and overall very happy with them. Highly recommend them.
I ride my MTB almost exclusively on city streets and these tires are exactly what I was looking for. Very fast and smooth rollers, very noticeably faster on pavement than any other MTB tires I've ever used, quite silent on smooth tarmac or concrete, just a muted hum on rougher surfaces . They also have the right volume to cushion out street irregularities even at a fairly high tire pressure (I usually ride at about 50 psi) and are also rather light for the category, and grip while braking or turning on smooth/wet surfaces is surprisingly good. Also very easy to install and good looking too.
I can't comment on durability since I've used these tires only for about 350 miles, with zero punctures so far.
Overall, extremely happy with these tires!

Highly Recomend! Doesn't loose speed when on an almost horizontal lean (BMX racing tire origins)and feels very stable when doing so at 20mph+. Fast up right also. Some grip on hardpack and loose (be cautious), but feels predictable and wants to drift when it breaks loose. (gets you through dirt sections, as apposed to a slick sliding out from under you) Best weight by far compared to other urban assault tires. Thorns don't seem to penitrate but an industrial type staple braced upright did (slime in tube sealed it, tires fine). I think that staple would have penetrated anything. Treads wearing well. Stiffer feel interms of confort compared to wtb nano a fast rolling xc tire but not nearly as fun leaning and "shredding" pavment. Tourch is faster upright too but not by a huge margian.
Very Impressed. (running 58psi) Have fun.

These tires are used as replacements for the Schwalbe Rapid Rob's my 29er Cannondale F-SI Alloy came with as I don't off road this bike very much but wanted to keep the characteristics as much as possible. Most true 29er semi slicks are quite heavy but these are among the lightest. They corner and grip quite well on road and hard packed surfaces and pleasantly surprised me on loose sand when aired down. Mud and wet grass are off limits however. When aired down the sidewalls flex and as they are thin I wouldn't recommend using these on forest trails anyway. Rolling resistance and noise are noticeably less then off road tires. I cannot comment on their durability and general wear resistance yet but for their intended use these Maxxis' cannot be beaten as far as I'm informed.
Update: After 9 months of use I've had no flat yet and the treads are still almost as good as new. I ride my bike 2x a week. Very pleased with this product.

I installed on my three month old mtb looking for a smoother ride and lower rolling resistance. Tires were easy to install because side wall was not as stiff as my original knobby tires. Since I plan to do mostly commuting these tires seem good and look even better.
I needed to buy some new tires for my bike, so went for these. I ride mostly on paved trails and these tires worked awesomely. I was able to bike faster then before, which was kind of nice. Never know how much your tires would help with that. Totally recommend these, if you spend the extra moneys on tires. They were not the cheapest for sure, but have been very happy that I spent the extra $'s on them.
Bought to convert mountain bike to a commuter. Easy to install and good flat protection so far.
Liked that these were easy to install. Unfortunately got a puncture from a tiny piece of glass within my first 30 miles of riding my work commute. Tread seemed good, just would not trust again due to how easily they punctured.
I put these on a Giant 29er, they fit just about perfectly, and are significantly lighter than the stock tires. They ride quietly, perform decently in wet conditions and in a bit of off-road, but are not great in mud, sand, or wet grass.
Quiet ride, easy to install, rides smoothly and makes your bike look so F******* good :)
If you do a lot of city riding on your bike, this is the tire for you. When the trails are too muddy, I run this tire on my mountain bike to get the miles in. The casing is 120 TPI which helps to resist the constant barrage of gravel, asphalt, and the unavoidable bits of glass. Non wire foldable bead helps save weight. The tread retains a round profile with just enough grooves and siping to blast through wet roads. Pavement proven and highly recommended.
I was looking for a tire with a less aggressive tread than an off road tire. These fit the bill!
I install these tires on my single speed 29er and it makes it lighter and faster on the road and puncture resistant is still there.
Nice tires. Only complaint is that between the softness/stickiness and the tight tread of the tire they pick up a lot of small gravel and other debris. Other than that they are fairly fast and they handle great.
Hard to have confidence in a tire when it blows off the rim just sitting there! About an hour after the third ride on them and not during it fortunely. Set up on tubeless rims with Stan's!
The Torch is a great street tire for city commuting. I was able to set them up tubless pretty easily on a pair of WTB Frequency i25s.
👍🏾
I've put over 1000 miles on this tire, I only ride paved paths,, this is a great tire, good gripping always
