I bought this system because I am obtaining my Private Pilot's License and thought this would be a good addition to my simulator. So from that perspective, let me just start by saying that I think the force feedback is gimmicky; it doesn't at all feel like a real plane - at least not like a Cessna 150. So when pulling up, for instance, force is felt on the stick. But then if you pull up more, than there is no increasing resistance. Or let's say you start to approach a stall, still no increasing resistance - nor is there any rumble in an imminent stall. I realize that FSX doesn't do stalls well, but IL2 Sturmovik does. For the most part it just felt as if the stick were trying to center itself, much like a spring would do for 1/10th cost. When the resistance did kick into life, it mostly felt chaotic and unrealistic, at least to me.Now I realize that some people reading this will be saying, `hey dummy, you could have fixed this by doing so and so.' But see, this is the real reason I returned the system (and I hardly ever return things). After several hours of mapping keys, reading forums, tweaking settings... forget about what the feedback felt like, the fact is I wasn't even able to fly correctly. Period. The flight system isn't preprogrammed. What's odd is that the system comes with a Logitech program that determines which games you already have loaded on your system, a complete keyboard mapping for that game, and even the ability to launch the game from this program. However, once the game loads, none of the mappings persist. I mean, what's that about? Were they just suggestions? How hard is it to pre-program a $300 flight stick with a few popular games? You basically have to map out everything manually. And I mean EVERYTHING, even the rudder pedals don't work until you manually assign them. The stick itself needs to be calibrated. The throttle never worked correctly. In both IL2 and FSX the lowest part of the throttle was like 20% power, so I constantly had to hold the brake to keep from idling forward, and pushing the throttle all the way forward only gave me 90% power. Hey, I know what you're thinking! But see, I went to the forum and there is a fix for that (notice that it wasn't just MY stick, lots of people were having these types of problems), you basically have to go in and manually adjust the throttle. So when I did that, it turned out that the throttle did indeed need to be calibrated. So I went ahead and calibrated it. By all signs the throttle was working correctly and the calibration monitor showed that the throttle was working correctly. However, it STILL didn't work, my power range still only being from 20% to 90%. Then when I did go full throttle, the yolk would wildly fly to the left (along with a chaotic spike of accompanying force feedback). After I realized that this was supposed to be an implementation of P-factor, I decided to return the system.I really just wanted some good rudder pedals. That's how I got started down the road of convincing myself to spend $300 (you're going to spend money on shipping, you know; I actually spent $320) on a flight system. I haven't bought any other pedals so I can't compare, but again these just felt so unrealistic that they were of no use. For the most part the pedals were too sensitive and not tense enough. Now, there is a resistance knob on the pedals. So....twist, twist, twist, twist, twist, twist, twist, twist, twist, twist, twist. Still felt the same amount of resistance; like it didn't feel any different at all. There are a few good things about the system. The Logitech stick feels pretty good in the hand. There are dual throttles which is great for FSX. There is also endless buttons for anything you can think of. There are so many buttons that I constantly kept finding buttons in odd little places (not kidding). You could probably spend the rest of your life mapping buttons if you wanted to.And maybe that's the best way to summarize this review. If you think about setting up the system as part of the overall journey of life than maybe this stick is for you. It's like its own little game in a $300 box! Just imagine the fun of setting up and mapping out all those keys. Once you're done, you can actually save the profile and then map them all out AGAIN in another profile. Then you can get online with your forum friends and compare profiles to see which one is better. And don't worry, you'll make plenty of forum friends because you'll be spending lots of time there as you try to calibrate this and adjust that and wonder why x is doing y, while z isn't even responding. There's even a customer service number for Logitech, which to be fair I never called, but from what I hear that's a whole other adventure to be explored.Or maybe like me... you just want to fly....

Here's the deal. Logitech doesn't have a great reputation among hardcore flight simulation enthusiasts. So you ask, "why is this?" I'll tell you why. Because their products are usually poor quality and have poor accuracy. Perhaps for someone who only needs a joystick 'every once in awhile' they might be just fine, but to be used day in and day out.. they break pretty quickly. Usually in Logitech's case, it was due to the pots going bad in the sticks. Then they released the G940. A lot of flight sim geeks were extremely leery with purchasing this setup. Logitech kept marketing their stuff and hyping it up and a lot of people were saying a lot of great things about it so a few of us bought into the hype and gave up our hard earned money.Yes, I'm going to slam the stick and the company (it IS a two star review after all) but to be fair, I want to talk about the positives first. You have to understand that there is a LOT of good about this stick... and I mean A LOT! If this wasn't the case, I wouldn't be bothering to write this right now because it is Logitech after all, but what they have here could have been THE BEST OF THE BEST of the HOTAS world. I'll explain why it is not at the end.OK THE GOOD:-Split Throttle-Lots of Buttons-Dual Stage Trigger-Highly programmable (like any other stick)-FORCE FEEDBACK which works VERY nicely-HALL EFFECT SENSORS instead of pots on the X/Y stick axes-Complete setup, includes stick, throttle AND rudders-Competitive pricing (About the same or less than buying a decent HOTAS stick, throttle, and pedals separately in some other quality brands)-Looks cool-Feels durable. Still plastic-like, but what isn't these days?-Lots of trim wheels-Very accurate, as long as you don't reverse the direction of any axis (SEE BELOW)-Buttons on the throttle can be programmed to display three difference colorsNow THE BAD:-No programs support the programmable throttle buttons' colors.-A bit of center area where the Force Feedback doesn't work (this is to protect the motors and pretty typical for all FFB sticks)-Goofy calibration stuff (have to move all axes through full motion before using after boot up or it does goofy things.. it's a 'self calibrating' thing) Stick doesn't want to stay perfectly 'centered' when released as a result-Programming software is still a tiny bit 'glitchy'Now the four BAD things listed really aren't that big of a deal, and to be honest what programming software ISN'T just a bit glitchy, but their are two HUGE issues that affect this stick which make it impossible for me to recommend it. (To be fair, I only gave it 2 stars instead of 1 so more people would read the review). The first (and most important) is LOGITECH CUSTOMER SUPPORT, and you can probably throw their Engineers in there as well. Because the company is so huge, and has so many department it becomes almost impossible for them to be able to make even a small 'tweak' to fix problems. If you email their tech support, they simply give you an 'automated' response with a ticket #, and then "close" the issue a couple of days later with no real resolution. If you call them, they simply give you a ticket # and do the same. (They explained later in small print that 'closed' doesn't really mean closed and that they're still looking into your issue) but personally I feel that this method simply makes most people give up. Perhaps if I had been more ignorant or reverted to foul language and threats then maybe I'd have seen some more effort. Or maybe if I had a REAL issue with my stick (broken during shipping or the like) instead of complaining about a serious design flaw, then maybe I wouldn't have been shoved aside either.. who knows. Now it's time to talk about something in which Logitech calls "Hysteresis", but we call the "Reversal Bug". This is the second show stopping issue for this stick. As long as you keep moving an axis in the same direction it works great! If you reverse an axis' direction, then it JUMPS by as much as FIVE PERCENT making it impossible to 'fine tune' your aim, throttle position, trim position, etc. This occurs in ALL G940 axes, pot or not, and some areworse than others! This is not an issue with just a few sticks.. this is a DESIGN FLAW that exists in every G940 they've produced. The good news is that we have finally been able to get Logitech to admit to this, and that it can be fixed at the firmware level. The even better news is that they've finally decided to work with us to develop a firmware to help correct the issues. I was even emailed a BETA firmware which reduces the amount of "Reversal Bug" in the X and Y axes by about 65%.The BAD news is that they STILL believe this "Hysteresis" is actually a good thing and we can't convince them otherwise. The EVEN MORE BAD news is that they announced that they have no plans to REMOVE this "Hysteresis" and they have no plans to even TOUCH the pot axes (throttle, rudder, trims, toe brakes, mini mouse, etc) so we're just going to ha

I was given the opportunity to review this flight simmer system. As an avid flight simmer, I was very enthusiastic about the entire set-up of this system, which includes a joystick with force-feedback, rudder pedals and a throttle.Pros:1. Set-up: Right of of the box, I was impressed with the quality of the equipment. I inserted CD for installation, and within a few minutes I was using the system with my MS Flight Simulator (in this case FSX). Set-up for basic functions was fairly easy, but it is obvious that there are limitless ways for customization of this system. It is powered, so you need to plug it in first before use.2. Quality: Obviously, when you are spending a significant amount of money on something like this, you want to be sure that it will last. Frankly, I thought that the items were of good quality for the money. The joystick is solid and hopefully lasts for a long while. The rudder pedals are very solid and seem well-built. They are actually pretty heavy and stay in place quite well. Similarly, the throttle is also a good quality item. Overall, it seems well built from a mechanical point of view.3. Ease of use: First off, the joystick is a force-feedback design. In other words, as you roll on the runway, fly through turbulence and move the plane, the joystick will move in your hand. The joystick also has plenty of buttons for customizing weapons functions or aircraft features depending on your wishes (however, the basic features are already in place such as landing gear and flaps). Especially for combat simulators this is really a neat and immersive feature. The pedals are also very good for combat type games and add a very good feature. The throttle is quite easy to use as well.4. Aesthetic: Well, from the start, you will realize that this item is NOT something to cart to work to use during a break as it is significant and takes up space. But, for its purpose, it is nice-looking. The pedals are well-designed and certainly look and feel as though they could be a home-built system. I do appreciate that the entire system looks like serious pieces of equipment and not like toys (even though they are in effect adult toys).5. Immersion: Except for the overwhelming aspect of learning to fly all over again if your not used to this type of system (see below), the immersion of this system is pretty compelling, and it does make me feel as though I am more inside the game than just using a simple joystick.Neutral:1. Quibbles: I frankly wish that there was a off switch for this item so that you could simply turn off the features when you were done. Instead, you have to unplug the power for the system.2. Overwhelming: This thing is not for a casual gamer. I had to re-learn how to fly again with this system as I never had pedals before (I simply had a rotating joystick for a rudder). After years of flying in a certain style, the learning curve is significant and takes some time. I cannot express how many times I accidentally hit a pedal and caused an upset or a stall or a crash during a heated dogfight. And even more times than I can count, I 'augered' in (or bought the farm) during a landing. This can be frustrating! So, unless you are used to this type of system, don't think you can simply adapt in a few hours and be fine - you will learn to fly all over again.3. Size: Again, this is a neutral quality. It is a significant piece of equipment that you cannot just hide from spouses, children or snoopy friends. confess to your inner flight sim geekdom or this system will reveal it for you!Cons:1. Price: Well, the question you have to ask yourself is can you afford this item without causing a domestic problem. It is not cheap, but for a avid flight simmer, it is WELL worth it because of the immersive quality, and it sure beats tyring to build your own. Now, maybe I can set-up some more monitors!?2. Quibble: I have several different flight sims including the IL2 family of games as well as FSX 2004 and FSX. As for combat sims, this unit is awesome. On the other hand, for flying a 747 in FSX, the force feedback is a little too much. I wish there was simpler way to switch off force feedback in different scenarios (and there may be one lurking inside that I haven't found yet), but sometimes the force feedback is a little too much and becomes gimmicky.3. Durability: My only concern is that given the daisy-chain way in which everything plugs into the rudder pedal base, I sincerely hope that I can plug a replacement joystick (because these have a habit of failing after heavy use in short order) into the base unit without a significant problem. This hasn't failed for me, but rather, I just want to know that this will be replaceable in the future given the not insignificant cost of this system.Overall, I think this is a really easy to use and immersive system that a avid flight simmer will enjoy immensely. I have a variety of Logitech products and I always find them t

Logitech G940 Review 3-11-11Just before I ordered Logitech's G940, I ordered and tried the Saitek X52, (not to be confused with the X52 Pro). I fly mostly in FSX, (lately helicopters and stick controlled planes), and have just started flying some of the other 'action' games like Wings over Europe. This is not a review about the X52 so I will not go into detail about it other than to say that for my purposes, (flying stick control planes and Heli's), the X52 fell short by quite a bit. When I read all the reviews about the G940 I have to say that I was afraid to spend the money on it. But then it dawned on me that almost every review I read that had something terrible to say about the G940 was dated one or more years ago!So I bought it and the first thing I noticed was that the stick was limp and fell over to the side. I have never had a Force Feedback stick so I wasn't sure if it was broken or not.I called the Logitech Customer Service and quickly got a real person on the line, (that surprised me!). I wanted to know if the stick was suppose to be that way until the game was loaded and I didn't want to take it all out of the box and hook it all up just to have to put it all back in the box again.Well the CS rep was not familiar with the G940 or any other Flight Sim joystick and after I repeated my simple question 4 or 5 times he told me "yes it will straighten out when you plug it in". And then a minute later he changed his mind and said that it is broken and to box it back up and ship it back.So I discarded his advice, (all of it), hooked it all up and as soon as I plugged the stick into a USB port, (after plugging in the power supply), it came alive like it is supposed to. A tight, detailed report on the G940 is beyond my ability time wise.So the short of it all is this; Forget all about the bad reviews you may have read because most are dated quite some time ago, (one of the latest I could find was 11 months ago and the rest were over a year). Buy the G940, hook it up and download the software. THEN BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING ELSE, go to Logitech's website and update the software, (at this point in time it was something like vrs 5.10.1.Then be absolutely sure to find and download the latest FIRMWARE! I believe that is vrs. 1.41 at the time of this review. Don't expect the stick to give you anymore than it promised and you will be happy with it. This is a device for games, (yes, most flight sims are 'games'). Approach it from that point of view and you will be as happy about it as I am.The materials used are metal and plastic but high quality and the feel of the Throttle, Rudder pedals and joystick, (including all the buttons), is better than any I have tried or owned including the Saitek X52, (built better than the X52 by quite a bit might add).I also have and use the Saitek rudder pedals, yoke, throttle, and switch box and I like those but for 'stick controlled' planes and Helicopters the G940 is Definitely the way to go.Great Product and no software/firmware problems, (providing that you make sure you have the latest updates), that I can find in spite of some serious attempts to make it screw up as describe in some reviews. Go for it, you won't regret it and you can always send it back if you don't like it. But try it out and see for yourself!

Length:: 7:35 MinsThe video review:--------------------------The first part of the video/intro just shows some games I've used the G940 with (rather long). If you just want to see the G940 unit in the video, skip to 3:28---------------------------The retail box with everything in it weighs: 15.4 lbs.Joystick weighs: 2.64 lbsDual Throttle weighs: 2.2 lbsRudder Pedals weighs: 6.17 lbsGames I've tried this controller with:* IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946 (highly recommend! if you're going to get this controller, then you need this game; or if you already play this game a lot, then you need this HOTAS!)* Microsoft Flight Simulator X / Acceleration* Lock On: Modern Air Combat* DCS: Black Shark* Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X.FORCE FEEDBACK:The forcefeedback will vary depending on the software; it can get really insane or seem like a wasted potential. I find the force feedback excellent and works best with "IL-2 Sturmovik 1946"; when I fire my weapon, there's a nice rumble and really feels like I'm shooting. The rumble when taking off/landing is also great in IL-2/FSX. Now, if I set the force feedback to 150% then it'll vibrate just from the engine/flying - but that makes my hands feel weird/tired. However, for "DCS Black Shark" and "Lock On", the force feedback isn't as impressive; I don't feel anything when firing missiles. If "enable centering spring" is not checked in the Logitech Profiler, the joystick for the game "Lock On" is really loose unless I encounter G-force or crash.OTHER THOUGHTS:- Make sure the power plug is not loose at all; I wondered why the joystick became loose and no force feedback was going... and it was that simple mistake at times.- The throttle has buttons that are green LED. There is a zip file called "JoystickSDK" on the software folder where you can mess with the LED to also red/amber/off. Unfortunately, since the G940 has only been released recently, there's no games that can take advantage of the color changing LED to indicate status of your aircraft/etc. It would be nice if it could at least make it change colors when switching modes on the throttle (there's up to 3)- It comes with a set of cut-out button labels (and you can try to make your own, of course) where you can put underneath the LEDs, in case you forget what the button does. It's a nice touch, but since it has "P1, P2, P3... etc" printed bold right in the center of the plastic cover, it's actually hard to read.- The Joystick base can get quite warm.- The power plug, throttle, pedal all connect directly to the joystick.- The throttle/pedal tension can be adjusted- I wish there was some sort of click/lock or indication by feel when the trim is actually being centered.- Has directional/hat-switch buttons on the throttle and joystick! But I highly recommend getting TrackIR! (I absolutely love that thing! It's a must for flying simulators and especially if you want to add more realism on top of this controller!)Pros:+ Looks and feels great; throttle and joystick handles are made out of rubber material so you'll have good grip. (although there are plastic parts that somewhat detract the overall quality)+ Ergonomic joystick buttons (nice extra button for the pinky behind the joystick)+ Force feedback (not your simple cheap gamepad controller vibration, but really simulates the effect).+ Stainless steel rudder pedals+ Throttle has a mode toggle switch button allowing more button configurations.+ Love the dual throttle! (can also lock it to be single) - feels good in the hands.+ Holes on the joystick/throttle for bolting it down.Cons:- Setting up the controls was quite a nightmare! Spent way too many hours trying to figure things out because button configurations could conflict from game or the Logitech Profiler. Don't even think you can just jump right in the cockpit and start flying with this. Would be nice to get more detailed step-by-step on properly configure things for the games (there is a PDF file included telling you how to set up correctly for FSX, Lock On, Falcon, IL-2).- Makes this strange buzzing noise when the joystick is idle and not centered- On old games/arcade style, it sees the HOTAS (joystick, throttle, pedal) as the same input device (ie: the X-Y axis for the joystick end up the same as the throttle). The only way for me to use the G940 with a game like H.A.W.X was to assign/emulate the keyboard buttons to the controller/assign "zones" (you can assign/trigger keys on certain positions, "zones", on the throttle if you'd like) to the throttle through the Logitech Profiler.- Games that really fully take advantage of this HOTAS is limited (hopefully, this will change with more flying games/LED-changing support/etc.).Although it's not perfect, overall, I give it a 5 stars because it makes flying more enjoyable (especially in IL-2) and it comes with all the essential parts to start flying/force feedback for an affordable price. I'm more of a racer and own the Logitech G25 Racing Wheel, but now Logitech has brought a "G25" version --

I read all the negative reviews and had my doubts that this was a wise purchase. But I took into consideration the different personalities and temperments that can be involved in the negative reviews. Not to mention the veried technical abilities that people have or lack when installing a new devise with multipal settings.Logitech Flight System G940 Force Feedback Joystick At first as with any new devise there is a learning curve and the more you work with the devise the more you learn. Making assumtions and not reading the instructions slowly is my main down fall. But soon(within an hour at the most)I flying my favorite sim and enjoying it. About 2 weeks after getting the G940 I noticed a jerk in the planes flight and I thought the sim was reproducing a tubulent in the air and just kept on flying for several day till I notice there was a twitch in the rudder pedals in the simulated cockpit that corresponded with the planes jerk. That was when I realized the jerk was being generated by a false signal from the rudder pedals. It was a spike in the signal from the rudder pedals when they were just barely touched. I contacted Logitech support on a Sunday morning at about 7:15AM and answered the Techs Questions after describing the problem. The coclusion was that the fault was in the Rudder Pedals and Support directed me to contact Amazon since the purchase had been only about 3 weeks earlier. I contacted Amazon on Tuesday morning and was told they would send a New Replacement and I was to box up the original unit and return with the use of a return label they would supply. The NEXT DAY I received a new unit by UPS and a return label in my E-mail. I have nothing but GOOD things to say about how this was handled by Amazon. Logitech promised that if Amazon had a problem with replacement that I was to contact Logitech and they would get me a replacement..It doesn't get any better than this!!!!!!! Thank You Amazon .....I will alway try to buy every thing I can from Amazon. The 50 or more people I work with have or will hear this story. Plus family and friends.

I used this set with Microsoft Flight Simulator X Deluxe while I was working on my private pilot's license. Using a flight simulator is really helpful even with a keyboard and mouse, because it still allows you practice navigation, radio navigation in particular. Adding a stick, throttle, and pedals, though, ups the cool factor a whole lot.I was training in a Cessna 172, which has a yoke and not a stick. I didn't find the stick to be a hindrance, however. The force feedback made the experience much more real. Initially I was using a CH Products Flight Sim Yoke with Pro Pedals and I honestly didn't feel they enhanced the experience for me. The yoke is connected to a spring so resistance is linear. Pull back or push forward and it's the same feeling no matter the attitude of the aircraft. The force feedback stick, though, makes all the difference in the world. While the sensation is not identical to the feel of the aircraft (this is really the sim software's responsibility), the feelings are similar. The stick shakes before a stall, for example, and back pressure eases before the stall break. The bottom line is that force feedback can really make a difference in a simulation. The quality of the stick is superb. It's really a well-built stick. For years I used (and was very happy with) a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 Joystick, but Microsoft stopped updating the drivers when Vista came out and I could never get it to work with Vista or Windows 7. This stick is as sturdy as that stick, plus it has more buttons than I've got fingers. While the pedals and throttle aren't force feedback they're equally well-built. Controls are logically placed and they're heavy enough where they won't slide around. The pedals have spikes you can deploy out of the base to grip carpet if necessary. The pedals also have a tension adjustment so you can compensate if you're heavy-footed like me.What's really cool are the buttons on the throttle. I never get tired of watching them light up in sequence when the computer is turned on. Logitech's software allows you to map the buttons to whatever keystrokes you want and you can put your own labels under the plastic so you don't have to remember which button does what.Logitech's software also allows you to customize or create game profiles, though unfortunately there aren't a lot of flying/space games out there. This would have been a great stick to have back in the day, when I spent countless hours playing the Wing Commander series, the X-Wing series, Privateer, and Strike Commander. That was before I was married...now instead of saving the universe from the cat-like Kilrathi I'm changing our cats' litter box and flushing evil spiders down the loo.Sure, this seems like an expensive controller but it's really 3 in one, with force feedback. I wish more games I liked supported the force feedback but for my chair flying it's been worth the money, especially considering the cost of aircraft rental!

I ordered the G940 with medium expectations after reading reviews, and I was mildly disappointed. The thing performed reasonably well. I didn't find the stick to be as gravely as many people have said. There is a definite "gear" feeling when maneuvering, but its a soft feeling, almost squishy. The throttle resistance, while too light even with it dialed all the way up, was okay in flight. But the pedals were rather uncomfortable for me. Their stance was too narrow. The stick was very precise though. More so than my Saitek X52. But when your hand is off the stick, the Force Feedback resistance lessens a lot. There's a small optical sensor on the right side of the stick, and when you first go to grab the stick, it's a little limp for half a second, and when your palm covers the sensor the Force Feedback activates and the stick jumps to attention. It felt kinda cool. But in space sims, particularly Evochron Mercenary, when you set a heading and take your hand off the stick and it goes a little limp, the weight of the top of the stick makes it lean forward just a bit, causing your heading to drift downward. Yeah, it could be fixed by adjusting deadzones, but it shouldn't have to be.The force feedback was sorta... meh. Not to say that the actual force was weak, but the overall effect was lacking. FFB is a cool idea, but it's not necessary and doesn't really add much to the experience.I did have one smile-worthy moment with the stick, while I was flying in Microsoft Flight Simulator X. But that was more from the feeling of flying than from anything the stick did.Overall, it's an okay HOTAS. But there is one huge, glaring, problem with the unit. It shows up as three separate controllers. The stick, throttle, and pedals all register as their own devices. This is a problem in nearly every single game that I want to play. Black Prophecy, DogFighter, MinerWars, StarLancer, The Polynomial, X3, and X-Wing Alliance all require one single device. If I can't play these games with it, then the G940 is useless to me.So back to Amazon it goes. From here I'll either get a X52 Pro or a TM Warthog. I've done more research on CH Products, and I'm slowly getting convinced, but I'm not there yet. Its to the point that I'd probably choose CH over a X52 Pro, but I think I'd need more controls on the CH throttle with the space sims that I play._________________________

First off let me say that I have used several different flight controllers over the years and I found this one to be the best and most authentic I've used. It says that it was inspired by military and commercial aircraft and it shows. Unlike other flight control systems Logitech used heavy duty materials which gives the appearance and feel of the real thing. This combined with the force feedback lets you feel the g-forces and bumping you get in real battle. It has a split throttle for use with multi-engline planes, a big plus if you use MS Flight Simulator or the like. The throttle buttons light up and add just the right touch. Honestly I am very happy with this flight system and have not found anything else that comes close in comparison.

It took a while to review this setup because my desktop died right after I placed my order but now that I have desktop again all I can say is wow. This isn't some light weight toy, this is a serious set of flight simulator controls. The build quality is excellent and the weight and feel of the controls gives it a solid feel. I found the controls responsive and I love the force feedback feature. The downside is that you need a lot of room to store this collection.

Ужасно

I honestly really liked this product however after some time the throttle unit began to malfunction and when i called logitech for a replacement they said they no longer make this product and there was no replacement available.needless to say i spent $400 on a stick i can no longer make use of. However if your good at electronic repair there are instructions on how to fix it yourself unless you have it under warranty which I don't.

I bought this to learn some about piloting a glider. The good first. It has force feedback on the Stick and to be honest, I found force feedback to be less than impressive. The Rudder pedals do not have force feedback which can be useful in a glider simulator. I found the centering spring on the pedals very forceful and finally removed it entirely. The system seems well thought out and has plenty of buttons etc.Now the not great:I found the software interface confusing and the documentation did not help me much.A few words from Logitec or Condor on how the interfaces work together would have saved me many hours of fiddling about.Of course, it all finally became clear to me but the experience was frustrating. To give an example: the defaults set on the device are so far from what is actually needed to operate correctly that it made wonder why they even bother with defaults?Other examples:The "Damper effect strength" appears to do nothing. The "Spring Effect Strength" and the "Centering Spring Strength" labels are easily misunderstood until I discovered that there is a balloon when hovering the mouse pointer over the control. The explanations in the balloon were very helpful. An explanation on how the special multiple keystroke programming works would have been helpful as well.My impression is that the system is well thought out but the software could be much less confusing to configure with only a few words of explanation.CJohnson

The controls are horribly cheap feeling. The pedals also auto-return to center which is insanely annoying. If you've ever been in any helicopter, you know that this doesn't occur. Bleh. I would rather spend my money elsewhere than have this cheap set.

Хорошо

I've been flight simming since there have been flight sims and have had various control sticks, yokes & rudder pedals over the years but this is the first force feedback unit I've tried.I have to say that from the time I opened the box I've been impressed with this G940 setup. Throttle, Stick and Pedals all look and feel very nice. The stick and throttle units each weigh just under 3lbs, with the rudder pedals being almost 7lbs so everything wants to say put as you use them and I've not had them try to tip or move at all so far.Was happy to see the rudder pedal unit, in addition to rubber feet, had panels of flip down "teeth" to grip carpeting, nice touch. (see my uploaded photos)I'm still playing with some assigning and reassigning buttons to functions but have moved them around and find it to be fairly easy to do once you get the idea of using the profile software that comes with the system. You can also assign keystroke combos to buttons to cover anything you've done with the keyboard before. All this can take some time to get things assigned and tweaked to just how you like things.Latest driver download is a must (5.08 as of this date) and happy to say, Logitech is working on newer versions (we are told)as they get feedback from end users. I'm sure at one point you'll be able to download a ready made profile for any sim you care to use and not have to do the setup yourself, already a growing list. Although, you can still modify anything you want within a profile.Love the fact that it has 3 "modes" on a switch and you can have same buttons and controls do different things on each mode setting. Covers many aircraft and preferences that way... however, so far the Logitech profile software does not seem to let you use it for the second two modes. I hope they udate the software to cover this in the next version. One item that isn't ready to use yet is the color change feature on the 8 buttons on the throttle base, seems colors will be controlled by the flight sim software itself and not any Logitech/user settings, so as flight sim makers get onboard with the feature we'll have another great thing going. Note that the 5.08 download does have a "demo" program with it so you can see the buttons change color as a teaser for what's to come.I've used this unit for many hours now and I'm really enjoying it, I had been using a yoke for some time so getting back to a stick is fun, but do hope that Logitech will be making a FF yoke to plug into this system in the near future.Quite a treat to use controls that do not use pots and to know that there are no pots to wear out and cause spikes also.Make sure you follow the PDF instructions that come with the latest driver package and you will be up and flying in short order..I'm sure many have heard that the throttle will not give 100% or drop to idle, but it's just a matter of good calibration and changing the setting in your sim to be more sensitive than what you have been using with you older conrtols. For example, FSX default setting is 50% and needs to be 100% with no null zone.I've also heard some talk about the stick unit getting warm/hot, but have found nothing to complain about and temperatures of the stick base are just fine.I'm sure that as with anything that uses electric motors, the longer you run them the more heat they will generate, and also depends on if you are flying aerobatics nonstop or X-country flying, but I'm also very sure Logitech would not release a product with any kind of serious problem and I'm also sure they must have had them running for hours on end to test and research the flight system before shipping started.Remember, force feedback is only has good as what the simulator software outputs to the control stick so that can make a huge difference between what users feel. But, even if you disable FF within your software menu,(keeping the stick turned on) or your sim does not include any FF, this G940 will still give you great control, feel and overall performance just without the added bumps and shakes the sim puts out.See my uploaded photos with notes for more close up details if you need them.

Великолепно

After using the G940 for about a month now, I can say it's the best flight system I've ever used. I've used the MS Sidewinder FF Pro, Saitek X52, CH Flight Yoke and CH Rudder pedals. The build quality is superb, force feedback is awesome and overall system is top-notch. I like the idea of an intergrated flight system that Logitech came up with. I've have used the G940 with FSX, Wings of Prey, Il-2 with great success. One thing, if you use FSUIPC in FSX be sure to clear all of the axis settings in FSUIPC before setting up the G940. Then, either setup in the Logitech profiler software or inside control settings in FSX.The Joystick with force feedback, good button ergonomics and trim dials is incredidible. I read some review criticism about the trims not having detents, but I find this to be a none-issue. Using the X52 that had detents, I found the they could be a hinderence rather than an aid. While in flight, I can make slight adjustments to a trim dials on the G940 without the bump of the detent coming into play. Much better in my opinion. The Throttle with dual-engine contol abilities, two axis wheels (use for prop rpm, mixture, flaps or spoiler adjustments) and various buttons and 2 hat controls/buttons adds more control over flight systems of your aircraft. The eight 3-color LED buttons on the base of the throttle show potential for future programming. Too bad Logitech didn't write lighting control into profiler software, It would be fun to designate colors for different events, functions or status for the various avionics or control systems. The Rudder Pedals are well designed, also. Great feel, spacing and overall construction finishes up this trio of controllers. If you are considering buying a joystick, throttle or rudder pedals for your PC, you can be sure this HOTAS system will satisfy your needs. Logitech quality, along with ergonomic design and funtionality of the flight system meets my expectations, by far the best setup I ever used.I also have the Logitech G13 Advanced Gaming Keyboard that I use in tandem with the G940. There's a nice little free program that uses the LCD screen called "Speedbird" for FSX that gives real-time avionics and radio info while flying, cool. The G940 and G13 work so well together that after setting up the profiles on the 2 units I can fly without having to use my keyboard at all, real cool.Logitech hit a homerun with this one, it can be complicated, but after a small learning curve you can be flying with more control and enjoyable immersion than ever.
