I bought this for my Mom for Christmas. I moved out of state and thought it would be nice to webcam. I was pleasantly surprised by the image quality. I thought it was great for the price. Simple to set up and use; looks great. It's small and also has a good mic. Very happy with this purchase.

This webcam was a great deal at $28.26. The software it comes with on CD, which can also be freely downloaded from Logitech's site, makes it easy to take pictures and record video. The built-in microphone goes through the USB port, so there's no hassle with separate plugs or cords, one USB port handles the camera and the microphone. Unlike my previous webcam experience, this one works reliably. It can take large photos, but not very well. It just looks like digital zoom. It is a webcam after all, so that's not really a problem. It takes better photos than a cellphone or my old digital video camera. In short, this webcam is awesome. I highly recommend it!

Exactly as described. Works perfectly on Skype. Great picture. The face following feature can be weird at sometimes though, cuz if you cover up part of your face the camera will start zooming around to find a face.

I bought this for my girlfriend as I'm in the Army and we can not be together right now. She's not the best with computers, which is why I bought this specific model. I read elsewhere how easy it was to use. She had it set up and we were web chatting within minutes. Couldn't be happier. Even zooms in on her face while she's talking.

Webcam was simple plug&play with both Windows XP and Windows 7 computers it was used on, didn't need to load any software or drivers. Worked well with Skype for audio & video conferencing. Clip that holds it to the laptop screen could be of a better design. Don't expect it to stay in place if you move the laptop around. Overall I would recommend it for an economical solution for laptops without built-in webcams. Delivery from Amazon was quick as usual.

A few things not covered in other reviews:- - - Use with Older PCs - - -I tested it with a 2001 vintage PC (XT - 1.6Ghz - 1 GB RAM). At first it was a disaster, but things somehow cleared up to work fine on lower res settings (320x 240, 640x480, or widescreen 360p). The PC couldn't keep up with the camera (very choppy) on 800x600 or 720p settings. I think it's a CPU issue. Mine is 75-100% busy while the camera is on. Logitech says "1 Ghz minimum, 2.8 Ghz recommended."- - - Pricing - - -As of August, 2011 the price is still very bouncy. Low tide seems to be 25.- - - Some Minor Hassles - - -The Logitech interface is good but not great. I found some of the button labels and icons kind of confusing at first. No deal breakers, but also not 100% in the "clear and obvious" department.Use with 2 monitors: Every time I click on the Logitech interface to do something, the window jumps to the left monitor. Quite annoying.Mounting: It would be nice if it clipped firmly to the top of your monitor. Instead, it "balances" there, and slight disturbance of the cord may put it askew.

Good camera, super-easy installation. I've already used it successfully for placing video-calls via Skype. Given the amount you pay for it, it's a good deal. Nothing fancy but exactly what I was looking for.

Logitech C310 arrived 3/6/12 and is up and running on a newer model Mac-mini running OS Lion. Installation was easy and comments from the receiving end of the video call were that the video and sound were very clear. Can't use all the bells and whistles since it is designed for a PC but for my purposes it works just fine. Take away one star only because I'd like to see full capability for Mac.

Not a very expensive webcam, but I feel that you get far more than you pay for. The cam itself is smallish, and works great. The software it comes with is also pretty neat. It has auto light adjustments that make sure you can be seen. I would recommend to anyone looking for a webcam.

I would have given this thing a 5-star review, had I written this review during the first 4 months of using it. For no apparent reason, it just stopped working. I won't get into specifics, but I did try it on 2 computers, both with the drivers that had already been running it, and with a clean reinstall. Could perhaps be from leaving it plugged into the USB port all the time, but typically a webcam is not something you unplug when youre done with it, and should be able to withstand it.I will say though that when it was working, it worked great! Nice crisp, clear picture, and the built-in microphone worked great. Hopefully mine was just glitched from the factory, and yours (if you've already purchased it) wont suffer the same fate.

Having moved up to a new computer with Windows 7 64-bit, I needed to get a new webcam because there are no Windows 7 drivers for my old webcam. My system has 16GB of RAM and I have read that some other manufacturers' webcams don't work on systems with that much RAM. I don't know if that is true, but I can report the Logitech C310 installed flawlessly on my system and works very well. Image quality is very nice (better than my old QuickCam Pro 5000). I find the physical design pleasing as well, and also the small size. The mounting bracket is not quite big enough to span the thickness of my HP LP2475W monitor, but the HP is a thicker than average monitor. A little bit of Velcro will take care of that.Just for grins I tried running the C310 on a USB 3.0 port. It works at the 640x480 resolution, but none of the others. This is not any sort of negative for the webcam or Logitech, I have plenty of USB 2.0 ports and want to reserve my two USB 3.0 ports for external disk drives. But if someone tried to install the webcam on a USB 3.0 port they might think it was broken, so be sure to plug into a USB 2.0 port!

I love the webcam, just not the connection used to hold it to the monitor. It is not a very strong spring-type clip and the slightest josteling of the monitor and the webcam falls off.

The Logitech HD Webcam C310 is a good webcam for the price and works exactly as described. I use it to skype the family makes it a lot easier and more personal to keep in touch.

I got his webcam for my Dad so he could have Christmas with the rest of the family since he can't physically be here. He lives several states away and isn't very computer savvy. I remoted into his computer and we had this camera set up within minutes. We downloaded Skype and he was diggin' it!! Nothing to check with sound or video capture; worked like a charm. He mentioned it took a little bit to get it positioned right but while we were talking it sat on top of the laptop. The resolution was super! I give this a 5 thumbs up and would be my recommendation for a webcam for both a flat screen or laptop.

This cam has clear images coming from this side, and great sound/volume, and is in-sync, even on older computers. Have recommended this product to a couple of people so far, and thinking of buying one as a gift. It's definitely good value for such a great, high-quality tech product. We paid $24.95 whereas, in store, it's $40. We find it works better with Yahoo Messenger than Skype, but still use it on both.

The title says it all. What's not to like? Well the only thing would be that the clasp design is a bit awkward for attachment to a laptop but so far though it seems certain to fall it has not yet. I fail to understand what more anyone would need in a webcam. I did debate the more expensive model and so pleased I settled for this (thanks to the other reviews). Bang for the buck, crystal clear image, mic quality good. Go for it. Was so ticked off that my new $1000 plus lenovo y470 internal web cam was of such poor quality, far worse than the 4 year old dell 1500 i was replacing but now I am almost glad it was as it forced me to invest in a webcam that delivers far more than I expected.

I read up on the product before I got it to make sure it wasn't a piece of crap and it's not. It's of decent quality, the picture is generally not pixelated/bitmapped at all, and I've gotten comments that the sound is very clear. However, my friends tell me that it often will freeze a frame of me for several seconds before the lag stops and the video is once again moving in time with the sound. All in all, glad I bought it but it's not the best ever.

The Logitech HD Camara model C310 is one of the first line of HD webcams, coming out in 2010. I purchased this after buying off brand camaras on the cheap on amazon and ebay. This camara is a big jump from those at about $40 instead of $15-$25 cheapies. I opened it today and have used it for a couple hours with my girlfriend 2 timezones away, and despite that connection and her moderate speed (~3mb down, .5 up compared to my 28 down and 3 up) she gets a very clear image, much larger than that from so called 3, 5, and 8MP camaras. She showed me through Skype's 'share screen' function, which still showed a clear and vibrant image. Recording locally (on my laptop) provides very good video as well.The driver CD has a lot of Logitech extras. The HD vid works as well as Skype, though I think you might have to pay for it beyond a certain amount of use if you don't own a Logitech camara. The typical gimmicky stuff is included as well, that is "personalization" add-ons, ie. fake backgrounds of nature, image mirroring and distortions, etc.The camara is a lot smaller than I've used. The actual camara portion is just under 3in wide and just over 1in tall, and less than 1in deep. It gets fairly warm in use.The clip/mount is terrible for laptops. I have it mounted on my LCD monitor fairly comfortably, but note that such a small camara and the non-spring loaded clip are subject to the weight and tug of the USB cord. There's a velcro strap on the cord presumably for organizational convenience. The camara pivots only on a y-axis joint (pitch). There is no movement for yaw or rotation.Be careful opening out of the box. To detach from the cardboard, scissors are a guaranteed necessity. The box is ridiculously big for the product.Here's a Gizmodo article discussing Logitech's new HD webcams: [...]NOTE: Just because a webcam is advertised as HD, doesn't make it so. I believe only Microsoft and Logitech currently (Summer and Fall 2010) offer true HD webcams for consumer use. Regardless, it's much easier to return something to an established group like those 2 than many questionable online merchants that often sell on Amazon.

Just got this in yesterday and plugged it up to my Mac Pro (dual quad - OSX 10.6.6). I bought it primarily to use for Delicous Library 2 so I was eager to try it out in that app but decided to test it first. I wanted to see for one thing if the audio worked ok or not. I don't really think I will use it for audio since direct mics (such as a headset, etc.) provide better quality than an ambient room mic. But I was curious never-the-less.I fired up QuickTime Player, File->New Movie Recording and wham. I was staring at my old mug. Nice sharp, clear pic. Color is vibrant. A smidge of lag from the camera (not bad really) but still sufficient for me. Clicked record and played it back. Oops. No audio. So, I launched Audio MIDI Settings via System Preferences and saw that the mic wasn't enabled by default which makes sense. So I right clicked and selected "Use this device for Sound Input". Back to QuickTime and boom. Works great. My sample rate was set by default to 48k, 1 channel and 16bit. I then went to Garageband (since someone claimed it didn't work there) and the mic worked fine. Once again it's only an ambient mic but worked well enough in the app.Next I went to Delicious Library 2. You can use the camera there as a barcode scanner (neat trick). After finding the button in Delicious to turn on the camera and bringing up the new item dialog box I held a DVD up to the camera and BEEP...we have a DVD scanned. Sweet!Bottom line: this little camera is a great deal at $30 and works fine on my Mac. I have no idea why others are not so lucky. I was surprised at how well it worked actually. I also would like to thank the merchant "iDealsLava" (heh, what a name) who shipped this to me in pronto time without a hitch. Man, Amazon rocks doesn't it?

Love the quality of the camera! It records long hours of captured great quality video into small Avi files. But, my only con is not allowing the camera to physically turn left or right. Only vertical motion. Other than that, its a great purchase.

I have this camera for several month. The image quality is very good, but it does not work with Skype. I mean it's down it time to time or picture became frozen. I did some research and found that I'm not alone. There are a lot of complains on it and as I understand Spkype and Logitech finger point one to another.So I do not recommend to buy it if you'd like to use this camera with Skype.

Excellent Webcam. Works great using Windows 7 and Skype. Not enough memory (only 2 Gb total, and some is being used for my on board video) on my laptop to work in HD but the picture is great! Setup was a breeze with downloaded (from Logitech) software.

The quality of the picture is sharp/clear with this camera. Logitech has been a good brand for me. The last one I had was several years old so the resolution wasn't that great, when I put this one on my fiance was so excited how clearly he could see me on skype! It is decently priced, for a personal webcam to talk with friends and family it works great. No need to go up in price and get a fancier one. There are a few fun effects also.

I'ordered the C310 for my girlfriend overseas because her webcam is almost a decade old. I received it via USPS and no problems there. The camera is pretty friendly when it comes to plug and use since it will automatically download the drivers/software needed.I will have to say one bad thing about it, when I plugged it in, the contrast/brightness/color were all messed up. Even though the room was very well lit, the color/brightness did not match. It was not the easiest setting to adjust after I opened up the Logitech software. I wish there was an auto setting of some sort, but like my title review says. You get what you pay for. $23.99 for a 720p HD camera + free S&H, alright in my book.

I had a terrible problem getting my computer to find the camera. In fact, I am not sure the issues are completely solved. However, once the camera started working, it was superb. The image is crystal clear. Additionally, I am happy with the audio quality.I have noticed, in the last few weeks, that most of the people I video chat with are using their smart phones. They send me blurred, jumpy, poorly lit video and barely understandable audio. So, at this point, I need to ask myself if the added cost of a 720 p webcam was even justified. The answer is that I don't want to send garbage out. But I can hardly keep the people I chat with from sending me garbage video.If you care about the quality of your web images, this is a good camera. It's extra cost is justified. You must, however, be ready to put up with some installation problems. You will like the final result.

Works well with Skype.Running Windows 7 without any issues (Windows installed the drivers), and Skype took care of the rest.I'm not sure what else you need out of a webcam.

I am very pleased with the the Logtech Webcam C310. Easy to connect - that is a wow for me! I love the quality of the picture transmitted to others. I would recommend to everyone!I will be using this webcam for training to my rubber stamping team as well as showing projects made and hope to receive from others using webcams.

I love this camera. It is lightweight and fits on my laptop very well. The picture quality is GREAT. It is very crisp and clear. The only thing I don't like about this camera is that it does not have its own light so you have to have pretty good light of your own. The software even recommends a video editing application that I love.

Logitech comes through, as usual. I simply plugged it in, installed the software and hooked up with Skype with no problems. The image quality is excellent. The zoom and pan features work great. I highly recommend this webcam.

The Logitech HD C310 is very good for the price I paid. It was easy to install and I used this camera to contact my family and friends overseas using Skype, Facebook and Gmail. I give the Camera four Stars only because it does not turn on automatically when I turn on my computer. I must turn it on Manually

Nice camera with amazing resolution . The sound reproduction from the mic is also high quality. It's smaller in size than I expected , a good thing ! My only complaint isthe mounting possibilities are limited. All in all, it's an excellent value , Thanks Amazon for great products, and great service.

After buying one of these to use with my son and his children, I bought one for my daughter so we could see and talk with her and her children. The webcam sets up easily and works very well in both video and audio. I set mine up on my desktop flat screen using a piece of Scotch tape to hold it in place. The coverage angle is fine for one head. If you want to see two heads, they have to be close together. A model with a wider viewing angle may be useful.We use it with Skype which should be downloaded first if you want to use Skype. The software comes with a communications package by Logitech if you don't want to use Skype. It also has other software features if you want to add some 'interest' to the conversation. I downloaded these features but have not used them.The only gripe I have is that the webcam control panel pops up spontaniously but the controls it provides are not available with the C310 webcam, so it is a nuisance to keep turning off the control panel, or dragging it out of view.We thought we would like to try a group conference with both son and daughter and all the grandchildren. It sets up easily in Skype but unfortunately, Skype requires a subscription of $10 per month or $5 for one session, which ended that idea. All-in-all, the webcam is a great value for the price if all you want is a basic webcam to see the person on the other end of the call.

I've had this camera for about 12 hours, so although I'm still getting used to it, I've had plenty of time to play with it and look at most of its features. Overall, it's a nice camera for the price. However, it's not for everyone, and like my title says, it definitely has its share of pros and cons.PROS:* Excellent image quality* Great microphone quality* Software works great with it + nice features* I find the LED light/position a lot more attractive than most other webcams.CONS:x It is not truly "widescreen". The lens is unfortunately more "fisheye" than wide angle. Although you can indeed make the ratio 16:9, your camera will not cover a wide span. Basically expect no other coverage other than your head and behind.x The cord is quite short (5 ft). This of course depends on the person's circumstance. My tower is quite far from my monitor, and it just barely reaches the USB port. Would it have hurt to make the cord at least 7'? Of course, some people have laptops or monitors with USB ports; so once again, it depends on your circumstances.x It's a bit bulky. Expect it to stick out about an inch or two infront of your monitor. Not exactly "attractive", but not hideous either.x I had an AWFUL hard time getting this thing out of it's box. Jeez Logitech, you have this thing packaged like it's Fort Knox. Simply be careful not to break it when trying to get it out.So although I'm not completely satisfied, I do find the pros exceptional for keeping. With those cons being said, I fully appraise Logitech and recommend no other brand better for a webcam. However, please know that you DO get what you pay for.

Nice picture and sound, but the camera turns itself off when using Skype and there seems to be no support to help with the issue. I have to reset the camera every two minutes or so during every chat. I will have to toss this one and buy something else.

Using with Windows XP Home SP3, 3GHz Phenom II X3 CPU, 4GB DDR3-1333 memory. Sits up on the top of my flatscreen, out of the way. Use it to Skype with my wife when she is out of town. Seems to work better without the included software.Sometimes the camera will freeze on me, but I think it has to do with the Skype connection. I run a fairly beefy PC with plenty of horsepower. I have cable internet, so I know it isn't a bandwidth issue. I made sure it has it's own dedicated USB port, so no conflict there. I CAN'T get it to freeze when I'm NOT using Skype, so that pretty much narrows it down.Nice picture, good microphone, small size. All-in-all, a really great buy.
