This is my first smart phone and my first experience with Android, although I have long experience with Linux systems. This is a very good, mostly-unlocked phone. As other people wrote, it is similar to LG Nexus 4 (but $100 cheaper and has 4G) but less powerful than LG Nexus 5 (which is similar to G2 but is twice more expensive than E970). I considered many smart phones, but the ones in my price range were this and Motorola Moto G. E970 was $20 more expensive but far more powerful than Moto G. My voice/data plan is a non-ATT discount company that uses the ATT network. After I installed the SIM card, it took a while for the tech support to activate it and even more to connect it to the 4G/LTE data network. They had to text me two patches to install to make it work (it was very easy: each text message had an Install button). Now it works flawlessly but I haven't done any speed test yet. Overall, the phone has an extremely fast CPU (4-core 1.5Ghz), sufficient RAM (2GB), plenty of SD space (32GB with the bonus SD card), excellent WiFi, good camera (8Mpixels), excellent bright display, and excellent battery. Now the bad news: it's intended mostly for an ATT plan. Of course the phone hardware can work with any provider; it's the preinstalled Android that has locked some apps and services. To be more specific, first, it comes preloaded with many ATT apps. This is fine since you can stop them and disable them from Settings/General/Application. But there is one that you cannot disable: My AT&T. When you do Call/My Contacts to call a person from your contacts, it tries to connect to your ATT account to synchronize your contacts. At that point, you need to push Back to stop it and go to your contact list. It's not very important but annoying since you always have to push Back every time you make a call or text. I tried to fix this by deselecting "Auto-sync data" in Settings/General/Accounts&sync but many times (always when I restart the phone), I get the same problem. The only solution to this is to "root" your phone and uninstall the ATT apps. But the most annoying thing is that ATT (as well as most US mobile providers) has locked tethering by software. Tethering is used when there is no WiFi and you want to connect other devices to your data network through your phone. It is illegal in other countries for a data provider to lock tethering, but here in US, they can do this by soft-locking your phone and sell you a special data plan to unlock it. This is very greedy: it's like your home internet provider charge you extra if you connect a router at home to connect other PCs. So in US, you need to call your provider to unlock tethering, and they will text you a special patch specific to your SIM card. How to root your phone: Rooting means that you get a complete control of your phone, similar to the root account in Linux or Administrator account in Windows. Is it legal? of course it is. It's like asking: is it legal to work on Windows using an Administrator account? It's your phone and you payed a full price. If your phone manufacture voids the warranty because of that, you should report it to forums so that nobody buys its phones. Also you can always unroot. Note though, as root you may do destructive things to your phone and even "brick" it, which is extremely difficult to restore (unlike Windows). Also, you may do things that void your data plan (such as unlocking tethering); so read your plan contract carefully. How to root: read the first guide in forum.xda-developers DOT com/optimus-g-att. How to uninstall locked apps: use the app "ES File Explorer File Manager" with Root Explorer ON.How to unlock tethering: DON'T. If you are in US, ask your mobile provider. If you are outside US and you are sure your provider allows it, then root your phone and unlock tethering (search: "e970 tether sqlite").

Pros: nice screen when it works, big screen-Cons: battery life, non-replaceable battery, poor sound, no keyboard or optical mouse, clumsy interface, no stock flashlight app-- Had this phone 2 weeks and hating it. Previous phone was an HTC Desire..this was"Supposed" to be an upgrade. This was a regrettable impulse buy. Bbuy was sellingit for a buck plus a 200 buck gift cert with contract. Now I'm locked in for 2yrs with a barely useable phone.- First off, poor poor battery life. Poor poor sound volume...you can barely hearanything with a phone cover on it which renders the phone useless.- Phone apparently requires a minimum 1000mA charger or it takes 40 hoursto charge! Most micro usb chargers are 500mA. So don't think that you can useyour old charger..maybe you can ,maybe you can't ...unless you don't mindwaiting.- Once fully charged I am getting less than a day of use with very minimalusage. Maybe 1hr talk and 20 minutes of data usage..if that. Worse than that...even when putting it in airplane mode while I am working and only using it on breaks...the battery still discharges. I have only 3 appsinstalled and have disabled background data usage on all of them. Today I tried shutting it off completely between breaks and that seemed to help. But that is ridiculous.- I could easily solve the battery problem with a battery upgrade...* NO.. I can't!......In their infinite LACK of wisdom, LG saw fit to duplicate the iPhone'sstupidity in using a built-in NON-replaceable battery! I didn't even see thatcoming...who thinks to ask about that when they buy a phone??- In addition to that, the screen has started to go blank on occasion. Then Ican't tell if the phone is on or off. Ordinarily you would remove the battery soyou KNOW your phone is off and then start the reboot process from scratch. Youcan't do that because the battery is not removable. It's a sad joke. No wonderthey were selling this for a buck!- Sound is pitiful. Speaker phone is virtually useless. If I didn't have togive the Bbuy $200 buck gift card back which I already spent...I'd return it today.THAT's how they get you!- After using my friends Motorola I swore I would never buy another phone withouta keyboard...but I thought with the larger screen I would be able to navigate thetouch screen keyboard better...NOPE. Some of us big fingered clumsy people justneed to have a tactile, analog keyboard that folds out like the Motorola (which Iwould recommend much more highly than this phone).- Camera quality is not up to par with its claimed 8MP capability. I find theinterface much more clumsy than my previous HTC which allowed you to turn theflash on and off from the screen without using menus.- The HTC flashlight app which came with my old phone was much simpler anduseful than all the other apps I have found on gplay.- I don't know if its an AT&T mod or just Android 4.0, but when looking atpictures it doesn't seem to bring up your latest pic, you have to scroll to lookfor it. its just weird. The HTC was a much more intuitive interface altogether.- I also preferred the weather and clock widgets and the 5 main screens of the HTC Desire (versus 3). Don't know if that is an android version difference or AT&T's piddling.-- Bottom Line: Beware phones bearing $200 gifts!

I am reviewing the LG Optimus G 4G Android Phone (Sprint).First off, I upgraded from the HTC EVO 4G which I had from its release. Great phone, and in my opinion, this made for a great upgrade. So why only 4-stars and not 5? If everything got 5-stars then nothing would be exceptional would it? It is just that, a great smartphone, not an exceptional smartphone. That said, after owning it for a couple of weeks I thought I'd share my preliminary observations.IN THE HAND:Initially I was apprehensive about any phone with such a large display but I am WAY over that now. For reference, I am a male and I wear Adult-Large sized gloves. Though I think my fingers are a little on the stubby side the phone fits well in my palm. As a righty I can reach the power button with my thumb and volume controls pretty easily with my index finger. I really like the flat sides as opposed to the smooth rounded/curved sides of my wife's GS3. In contrast, my wife does not like the flat, sharp edges of the OG and much prefers the feel of the GS3. To each his/her own. Her seat-of-the-pants observation is that the OG is bigger to her. I think because it has flat sides you have to curl your finger further around the phone to grasp it and maybe that is why she thinks it is bigger than her GS3. From a technical standpoint it has slightly smaller dimensions.WEIGHT:If anyone has been using the EVO 4G then you know it is a hefty phone. I liked that about it. It felt heavy in my hand and that gave it a quality feel you don't get from the featherweights they market these days. Don't get me wrong, I like that the OG is lighter than the EVO, but not nearly as light as the GS3 so it still feels substantial in my hands. Amazing what a difference a few tenths of an ounce can make. And the quality of the phone is not only noticeable in its feel but its visual appeal as well (you can Google OG reviews for more on that subject matter). I'll just say that this does not look like a cheap, `plasticky' phone. Not that it should matter, but I like that it has a very high quality, high end look to it.SCREEN:Earlier I mentioned it has flat sides and sharp edges. The four corners are well rounded but the front surface is at a right angle to the edge of the glass/case, and to a lesser degree the same on the back. It is finished with a nice chrome trimmed edge when viewed face on. This is not sharp in the sense that it can cut you, but it is definitely not a gently rounded and smooth surface transition like the GS3. This will be great for edge-to-edge screen protectors. The screen is very bright, and easy for me to read. So bright in fact I actually find it more comfortable when dialed down to the preset 63% brightness with auto-dim enabled. Outside in bright sunlight it is very viewable even at this setting. That is a pleasant upgrade from the EVO which always washed out in bright sunlight.TOUCH:The touch screen is something I am still getting used to. I don't know if it is because I had an anti-glare/anti-fingerprint screen protector on my EVO, but the OG glass surface is soooooo slick. I sometimes have to make multiple attempts to `press' or `tap' a button because I end up moving the screen ever so slightly, enough to make the phone think I am swiping and not tapping; kind of annoying that I have to `think' about the tapping gesture rather than just doing it, all to be sure as not to move the screen when what I want is a press or tap instead. Guess it is something you get used to doing over time, like swipe (and no, I am not feeble handed or whatnot... I have plenty of dexterity in my fingers). Like I mentioned earlier, I kinda have stubby fingers so for me it requires more effort to reach across the phone with my thumb (4.7" inches of display is a lot of real estate). Single handed texting is somewhat a challenge. It is also just as difficult trying to reach a button or key on the near side of the thumb. If the phone were narrower I could just shift it around in my hand to make it easier to get to the near side buttons, but with its size it becomes less stable in hand as I can't grip it as securely doing so. I'm sure I'll get better at it over time.PERFORMANCE:Ok, so this phone smokes! Especially in comparison to my EVO. I had to go back to my EVO looking for a file since I didn't just do a full copy over to the new phone. While scrolling the screen on the EVO I kept thinking that it had some busy process running in the background. I had all radios turned off and as well no sync'ing. No other tools running, just Astro file viewer. I realized that the OG was just that much smoother when scrolling. Looked like a stuttering effect on the EVO while it was as smooth as glass on the OG. Same for any animation and transition. Soooooo fast on the OG. Apps literally just POP open without ANY delay. For benchmarks you can Google it. I am just stating my observations here. Browsing the internet was also soooooo much faster on the same home wi-fi network. Incredible what

The LG Optimus G from Sprint is just what I was looking for in a smartphone. It meets all of my requirements which are:1. Fast Processor2. Large RAM (2 Gigs)3. Large Internal Memory (32 Gigs)4. Good, reliable and fast, wifi connection for work/home network (RDP, Cloud and file transfers).5. Great screen (had to be 4.5 or larger)From the requirements that I have outlined above, the Optimus exceeds them all. It should be noted that my wife and I purchased the smartphones together and she opted for the Samsung Galaxy III. I will make my comparison with that phone since I set them up almost the same way. Here's my observations:1. The Optimus is definitely faster SIII which I did not fully anticipate. I knew that the quad core would be faster, but the entire experience blew me away. The Optimus redraws, connects, shutdowns, restarts better than I would have anticipated. The redraws was very smooth and configuring the various home screens was easier to accomplish in the Optimus which surprised me.2. Ergonomics and just the way the phone feels in my hand goes to the SIII. It just feels better in my hands when I am using it and my wife certainly agrees; oh, the SIII is lighter as well.3. The screens are both gorgeous. If you have a high quality picture the colors on both phones are phenomenal. If you are going to use the phone in direct sunlight then the Optimus would give you an edge in that environment. I have my Optimus setup for 50% brightness, screen timeout after 1 minute, Large Font & front key light on for 5 seconds....again, just a wonderful screen that is easy to read.4. Battery power is fantastic with the Optimus. I get a solid 16 hours of use with 35% remaining on the battery doing the following: a) work & personal emails (150+), text (50 back & forth) calendars appointments, notifications, and calls (8-10 calls that is 2-15 minutes). 75% of my battery usage is identified with these activities with the biggest use going to Touchdown. I also transfer multi-MB files files using my wifi connection and utilize cloud technology for backup and picture/file sharing using the phone when needed. This is interesting since the SIII battery should last a little longer, but doesn't in my case with alot of file transfers. My wife is getting closer to a solid 12 hours on the SIII before plugging in but she is also on the phone more (3 times as much) but without the file transfer activities that I put both phones through (pics, vids, and music...and work docs for me to the cloud)5. The camera is better in the SIII. My wife and sister in law's pics are sharper whereas the Optimus tend to be somewhat grainy. While 13 meg sounds good and looks great on paper, the end result is not so good. Having said that, you can take those pics that are grainy and run them through computer apps (GIMP, Photoshop, NeatImage & others) that would remove the grain and smooth out the pics.6. Call quality with a good signal (at least 3 bars) is very good. In the house where our cell signal is weak (using Airvana's Airave 2.5 for a boost) my calls are a little better in terms of quality and connectivity than than my wife's SIII. If you are using an Airvana there is some type of network glitch with it communicating with the SIII. You may get error 97 (can't text) and require the assistance from your Sprint rep. A little tech hint: unplug your Airvana, put your phone on airplane mode, turn on the Airvana and wait till you get all green lights, turn off the airplane mode and check to see if you can text. Out of the house and getting a good signal both phones work great.7. Netflix viewing is nice on both smartphones and can serve as a good distraction when waiting in an airport, DMV or other places that have a wifi connection or 4G. The SIII sounds a little better though if you are not using a headphone.8. Expandability goes to the SIII. However, if you want to use cloud technology for saving/sharing files, then the cloud provides you better option for expandability. Download and install the box app from the playstore, follow the instruction to register and confirm using your email from your phone. After that process, you have 50 Gigs of available storage...nice.9. Accessories goes to the SIII as you have more selections in more places (online and local shops). Conclusion: The Optimus is great for my use; the SIII not so much, but certainly works for my wife. As a tech user, I would go for CPU horsepower and the Optimus certainly has that covered very nicely and is highly recommended by this user.

This phone is great! It is my second smartphone and i love it. I have the HTC Evo 3D from virgin mobile and this phone is absolutely amazing. It is very responsive, fast, and the screen looks really clear. Overall a great phone, 10/10 for me.The seller(Cell-Source) sent me the phone as described, Brand new AT&T unlocked and it works with Net10's 4G network, I tried it with my brother's SIM card. I had seen a lot of reviews on here saying that the 4G did not work in the US, so I did a little research and found out that there is 3 models of this phone. There is the E970(AT&T version) and there is the LS970(Sprint Version) and i believe there is also an E975(International Version). So, for those of you who are giving this phone a low review because the 4G does not work in the US, make sure you have the unlocked AT&T version and not the International Version(E975). The E970(AT&T) has a MicroSD card slot up to 64Gb, 16Gb ROM and it comes with a 16Gb MicroSD card for a total of 32Gb but you can use about 25Gb more or less in total, which I think is enough for everyone. Before you buy, you can always contact the seller and ask to make sure you are getting what you want/need that way you do not spend your money. I would not be able to tell you if the AT&T version (E970) would work anywhere else in the world, the best thing to do would be to research really good before you buy it. Another way to tell the E970(AT&T version) apart from the Sprint(LS970) and International version(E975) is by the camera. Both the Sprint and International version have a 13MP camera and does NOT have a MicroSD card slot, they just have a 32Gb ROM (memory for storage). AT&T decided to go with the 8MP camera instead of 13MP but added the MicroSD card slot, which is much better in my opinion. Other than that I believe the phones have the same specs.Specifications:-Quad-core 1.5GHz Processor-Adreno 320 GPU(for Graphics)-2Gb RAM-8MP Camera, 1.3MP front Facing camera-Android 4.1.2(came installed already)-MicroSD card slot up to 64Gb, 16Gb MicroSD card included.-Micro SIM-2G, 3G, and 4G(Where available, check your desired carrier)-4.7" True HD IPS+ Display(very nice and clear!)-Gorilla Glass 2-2100 mAh battery(non-removeable)I think this is everything for right now, I will try and update as time goes by. If you guys have any questions feel free to ask I will try and reply ASAP. Thank you for taking your time to read this, it only helps you anyway :pALL SPECIFICATIONS INFORMATION WAS TAKEN FROM gsmarena dot comUPDATE: I've had this phone for about 2 or 3 weeks and it is working great! the battery has a good life with light to moderate use. I am writing this on my phone, the last time I charged it was Saturday night and it still has 30% battery life left. I made a couple of phone calls, text messages, some social networks, picture messaging, and web browsing.one thing that I had an issue with as the messaging app. for some weird reason, my messaging app got deleted and just disappeared. I had to do a factory reset to get it back. good thing is that I had installed an app that backed up my apps, but not data because my phone is not rooted. But overall the phone is working great, if you're looking for a case with not much bulk look for the diztronic matte black case.

The T-Mobile G2x (or in other countries, the LG Optimus 2x) has kind of a troubled history. It launched with FroYo (in spring 2011, no less, which is pretty crummy) and it wasn't exactly a solid phone. Lots of trouble reported around the web with lock-ups and freezes and random rebooting and so on and so on. I don't doubt any of that stuff.I got this phone right after 2.3.3 released last summer. It wasn't exactly stellar, but it was good enough. I experienced a very rare random reboot and very occasional lock-up. Super rare, and not necessarily an indicator of the software. Still, reports of that behavior abound on the internet with the 2.3.3 Gingerbread update. And then in April, LG/T-Mobile released a 2.3.4 update. And wowza. Totally solid phone. In the 2 months since the update, I have never experienced a crash. I don't believe I had any random reboots, though I guess it might have done it in the middle of the night. Never once during the day when I was using it or needed it. I'm finally really impressed. So let's quit talking about software and get to hardware. The screen is the first thing you'll notice, and it's gorgeous. 4", 800x480 resolution, IPS display. IPS is one of the higher-quality LCD technologies out there, with very wide viewing angles, accurate color reproduction, and bright backlights. It has all of that. The screen, in fact, is what sold me on this phone in the first place. The body is sturdy and solid-feeling, as well. The screen is covered in glass, there's a metalic trim on the sides, and a soft-touch rubberized plastic battery door. The volume/power buttons are solid and tactile, and pressing them is easy without being out of control. It has 2 cameras, one front-facing (which is good enough for skype) and a really nice 8MP camera on the back with LED flash. Pictures are great, you know, for a phone. It replaced my Nikon point-and-shoot 8MP camera since the photos are basically the same to my eyes, but if you want dSLR quality, get a dSLR. Duh, it's a phone. After that is the engine running this ship, an nVidia Tegra 2 SoC and 512MB of RAM. The Tegra 2 is as fast as any other 1GHz dual-core CPU, and the ultra-low-voltage GeForce GPU is quite sufficient for all your gaming wants and needs. Where it falls a little short is the 512MB of RAM. Occasionally if an app runs wild, the phone will sputter. Zynga's games are the worst offenders I've found; Words and Scramble both use around 40MB when they're idle. Totally unacceptable, honestly, and because they dont' get along with the phone I removed them. If the phone had 768MB of RAM (like the MyTouch 4G and MyTouch 4G Slide) it'd be a different story, or if it had 1GB like the Motorola Atrix (the other Tegra 2 phone that came out in early 2011) it'd be a total non-issue. 512MB of RAM is plenty most of the time, though. The phone has 8GB of storage total, with 1.45GB partitioned off for app storage (which is plenty), 3.7GB set aside as the "SD Card" (internal storage), and the rest eaten up by Android's system, cache, and boot partitions. So 5.25GB of space available to the user, and a micro SD slot that supports micro SDHC cards, so you can have another 32GB of space if you so choose. My phone came with an 8GB SD card for a total of 16GB of storage, but if you buy used I would not count on getting that bonus.Call clarity is great. The speaker gets relatively loud before it distorts. I can hear people well, they can hear me well, and that's either using the handset or the speaker phone. It has Bluetooth but i have not used it. It also has micro-HDMI output for playing videos or games on your TV, and the phone came with a cable, but I have not made use of it yet.The phone has been discontinued but it's well worth getting. Finally. The only way you're going to get nicer off-contract is to spend twice as much money on a MyTouch 4G Slide, or even more on a Galaxy S II or HTC One series phone. I can't say enough. I'm using it with the $30/month Monthly 4G pre-paid plan (I don't need more than 100 cell phone minutes, but I want the data coverage and Android OS). Cell network speeds in my area are fast enough - this gets the same bandwidth in the same places as my wife's LG Optimus T, which varies anywhere from 6.8mbit to next-to-nothing out in the middle of nowhere. Dropped calls are a non-issue with the phone. Reception si as good as my old phone (a cheapy java phone) or my wife's phone.I think that covers it. It gets an unqualified thumbs-up from me as of mid-April 2012. Previously it might have been a little hesitant, but I'm glad I've stuck with it.

Wow! What a great phone. I have an LG Optimus G Pro locked to ATT that I use in the US. I needed a replacement for my awful Galaxy SIII for international travel. The SIII had a terrible camera. The photos were washed out whenever there was indirect sunlight. The SIII screen would lock up regularly, particularly just when trying to take a quick photo shot. So the SIII had to go. It was stolen in Colombia. So that put me in the market for a replacement. I love the LG Optimus G Pro. But it's still locked in contract and is really too big to be packed around the world. The Optimus G is just right. It's a nice size that fits easily in a belt case. The G is just as smooth and fast as the G Pro. The WiFi is strong and connects easily. Battery life is very good. I regularly get two days between charges under heavy use with the G. It will last about a week if just sitting on standby while I use the G Pro. The G audio is very good. I listen to both an extensive music collection and audio books on the G. For international travel in which I will be regularly trading SIM cards I like that the SIM slot on the G is accessible behind a cover on the side of the phone. You never take the back off the phone. It's easy to swap both SIM cards and MicroSD cards. The back of the phone is glass and quite slippery. It needs a protective case. I've got a hard case on mine which makes one handed use easy.I picked up my used G that is like new for a very good price. The latest news is that Kit Kat is coming to the G. It works fine on Jelly Bean. But it's nice to know it will get the latest operating system. I'm very happy with this phone. Some phones don't age well. The Optimus G was released in late 2012. It's a great phone that is still cutting edge in both hardware and software. I'll have this one for a long time.

Pros:Its fast, but honeslty I dont use it for anything but calls4g is very fastCons:Bad battery lifeAwful camera, front and rear is horriblebreaks way to easy, it seems like its always brokenIt worked well when I first got it, after dropping it 1 foot onto a soft linoleum floor, the rear glass broke (not the screen, the back is also made of glass). I bought a very good, thick case the next day. Dropped it again walking home in the snow. phone landed on a snow covered payment, screens digitizer was broken (touchscreen).Okay, well, normally a new digitizer is about $20, well this one the screen is attached and it is $129 for JUST THE PART. replacing it takes about 2 hours. It would be cheaper to buy a new phone each time you break the screen if you had to pay labor.Well, I got the screen fixed. 2 months later the microphone stops working!! no reason why, it just stopped. the speaker phone works so I have to make all my calls with speaker phone.Well, the phone is 4 months old, warranty is void since it was opened, so forget it, I will never buy LG again. My last LG broke after 5 months.Coming from a Nokia N8, these new phones are not made correctly. I literally, not figuratively, threw the N8 at the wall drunk one time, and it stuck in the drywall with no damage to the phone. It was also dropped kick (on accident) across a road, and I even left it on the roof of my car and drove away. I never broke that phone and it never had a case. It was indestructible. LG makes phones that break so you keep buying them again and again and they keep the parts so expensive that its not worth fixing.I would recommend looking for a phone that has a cheaper screen replacement. then if you break the screen, it wont be cheaper to buy a new phone each time and you can pay $40 for someone to fix your phone.

I got this phone just a few weeks ago, and so far it has been incredible. The phone looks and feels great in the hand- if I'm using it, people will often ask me what phone I'm using, and say that it looks great. The screen is gorgeous, although it may be a bit too big for someone with small hands. The quad-core S4 Pro processor ensures that gaming(I enjoy Dead Trigger and Blood and Glory) is extremely smooth and graphics look good. The large amount of RAM(2gb)ensures that multitasking is also smooth. Although the phone does come loaded with a bit of bloatware from AT&T, they had a good idea and didn't actually install the apps- they're just links to the play store, where you can download them, so they don't clog up your storage. It isn't all junkware though- it comes with the useful file editor Polaris Office 4.0. AT&T's LTE network, though not as prominent as Verizon's, gives you blazing fast speeds. If you have coverage where you live and work, you'll be very satisfied with it. I dinged a star for a few reasons- first off, the phone's gorilla glass back makes it slippery- a case(or perhaps a bumper to show off the nice reflective pattern on the back) is definitely a must. Secondly, the phone has an unfortunate tendency to overheat out of the box(interestingly, I haven't seen this over the last few days, so perhaps it goes away with use). The speaker sound isn't as loud as it could be- and it's flush with the back, so when the phone is placed faceup on a table, the speaker is muffled. And lastly, the OS- the phone comes with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, which means you miss out on Project Butter, which aims to reduce lag, and Google Now, an awesome predictive software, as well as some other cool features from JB. LG, unfortunately, doesn't have a stellar track record for phone updates. However, this may turn around- the Nexus 4 has essentially the same specs as the Optimus G, minus the LTE capability, and the N4 is running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Hopefully that will make updating easier(and thus we'll get updates faster). Good news is that a 4.1 update is rolling out to Korean phones, so hopefully the AT&T OG will be updated soon. Despite the lack of Project Butter from Android 4.1, the Optimus G is super smooth- probably the nice processor at work. The phone also has NFC(Near-Field communication) technology, which allows it to transfer files and other things wirelessly. I haven't gotten a chance to try that out, but I hope to get some speakers that allow you to simply tap the speaker with the phone to send a song to it. I'll update with that when I can. The notification light, interestingly, is on the side, surrounding the power button. While this is a nice idea, most cases, if not all, block the light. LG has some lovely homescreen scrolling effects such as Carousel and Breeze, as well as a lock screen effect called Dewdrop that slowly reveals more of the screen as you drag the dewdrop. All in all, I'm extremely pleased with the phone, and it will hopefully be relatively futureproofed by it's great specs until I need a new phone. Hope this review helped you make a decision, and remember that you can't go wrong with the Optimus G.

I've been an iPhone user since the 3g, and was sorely disappointed with the iPhone 5. All they added was LTE and an extra row of icons? Really Apple? That's innovation?Nope. I'm just plain bored with iOS at this point and want something truly new. I'm super satisfied with the decision to cut the cord with Apple and try out Android for the next 2 years. If you are a die-hard Apple fan, this won't change your mind, but if you're on the fence, this is review is probably relevant. Here is why I'm sacrificing all the $$ I spent on the app store over the past 4 years and returned my iPhone 5 for the Optimus G...Screen - 1280x800 vs 1156x640. The OG is truly HD, with a higher pixel density. It's also physically larger, which is nice.Storage - 32GB on the base OG model. Only 16GB for a simlarly priced iP5. The OG is also expandable with a larger SD card.Maps - Google maps have been around for years. Apple maps, not so much. It shows in the quality (especially street-view).NFC - Google wallet? Pay for gas by swiping my phone? Nice. Apple passbook, not so much.Miracast - Just like AirPlay, but you don't need an AppleTV. It's a bit more of an open standard, so you'll have more choice in receiver hardware.Speed - Probably a tie here. LTE is LTE, so the internet is blazing fast on both phones. iOS is crazy optimized for apple hardware, so runs faster on lesser spec'd hardware. The OG makes up for this with brute force - Quad core cpu, Adreno 320 gfx, 2GB RAM, etc...Apps - This was the primary pain point when switching. I've probably spent around $200 on apps in the Apple App store, plus there are 1 or 2 apps that I use regularly that aren't available for Android (yet). Most of that $$ spent was on games, though, and I just don't play that many games on my phone any more. My current favorites are FIFA 13, and Angry Birds Space. Both available on Android. So many games these days rely on in-app-purchase (which I hate) that I don't even bother. Everything else - Twitter, Facebook, Pandora, RunKeeper, Podcasts, etc... - are ready to go. Plus, Android has all sorts of crazy customizations available. Want to use a PS3 controller as a gamepad for a NES emulator? No problem. Want to download a video via bittorrent straight to your phone, then stream it to your TV? No problem. Battery draining too fast? Download one of a dozen battery analyzer and/or optimization apps and kill battery draining processes. This phone will go 2 days in Eco mode with a couple power management apps installed.OS - Android is amazingly customizable. If you like to tweak and customize things to your liking, then Android is the way to go. Rows of square icons have gotten so mundane over the past 4 years, and Android's smart panels are a breath of fresh air. The phone comes with LG's version of Android 4.0.4, and they are releasing 4.1 one of these days. There is already a root/unlock solution, so custom OS's and further upgrades will become available from the Android community.I don't want to incite Apple vs. Google flame wars with this review, but simply show that it is possible to switch from iOS to Android after several years of iPhone use. Apple has been the undisputed smartphone champion for years, and there are finally competitors worth looking at - even buying.

Ужасно

After years and years of using Iphones, I decided it was time to give an Android a shot. While I wanted a Galaxy (they are a great choice), they were a bit out of my price range, and with my upgrade AT&T was willing to give me on of these for $100. All those features, for that cheap? A quad core processor, pretty decent camera, gorilla glass screen, kevlar construction, and all those cool Droid features and programability? I couldn't resist, I thought I'd gotten the phone steal of the century, and after spending about a week learning how to navigate through the droid software, I thought it was too good to be true. Turns out, it was. This thing's reliability is absolutely abysmal. Within a month it began shutting itself down randomly, and would often refuse to turn back on for several hours. This problem eventually passed, and I thought the woes were behind me. NOPE. For the next few months it had repeated hiccups, frequently quitting out of apps spontaneously, changing wallpapers on its own, making emergency phone calls at random (no joke), and other things. And then, right about 7 months after I got it, things got really bad. It started completely crashing whenever I used the internet browser, and would shut down for a solid half hour or so, then turn back on, only to flash white, produce all sorts of odd patterns on the screen, and crash again. And now it does this repeatedly, several times a day. So basically I only have a functioning phone half the time. This device is an absolute disaster. I mean the features are great, outstanding even, and when it works it's quite cool to be honest (all of my friends wanted to mess around with my "space machine" when it was new). But that's the problem. It DOESN'T work. Honestly just stick to an Iphone or a Galaxy. All these no name Droids are no named for a reason, their reliability is a nightmare. What a headache. Perhaps I got a dud, but from what I've read a lot of people have been having problems with the Optimus G. Go for something else, save yourself the agony. While it isn't as capable or customizable, at least an Iphone works.

"Lets first talk about the use of "Corning Glass" that makes up both the front and back of this phone." Corning is a American Company and has been outfitting NASA for years. They also make that material that photosensors the sun within your Transition Lenses. So therefore, you can see this Screen in most any condition which is a huge plus! This screen is huge, a little bulky but more than easy to read, clear and crisp and you get to pick the automative transitions. On all the complaints that you cannot access battery and no micro sd card, what were they thinking? LG is cutting edge and thinks about Engineering first. This is a solid phone, nothing to get into it such as a unfriendly user. With 32 gigs of RAM, you don't need any SD Card. But they do sell those weird mini USB port plugins with internal SD if you must. The speed of this phone is all you have ever needed. I live in a rural area and have never gotton 4G signals. I rely upon normal 3G Speed but its that quad core processing power that is more than impressive, its top in its class. This is not a cheap phone, a fly by nighter to get to the next class of phones. Its a standard that LG would like to stand by and its sure to be a top seller for them. I love the fact you can be screening a video and then at the same time pull up another screen to text and then send the text and then back to the video within the same screen. Only that processing speed and 2 gigs of memory can you do that! This is a mini-pad that can do everything you want it to do or dream up.The notepad is very cool as you just pull down the pen, pick your color and start scrbbling on any application.. you don't need a dedicated note pad. Fun for doodlers like me while on the phone. The Music Player is decent, everyone says the Volume is low but I'm getting a good signal from my Bluetooth devices and can pump up the Volume from there. It needs a Audio processor but you can find a good app for that.If you are a LG person upgrading from a older Optimus to this one, DO IT! Its speaks the same language and you will be running in minutes.*Now the trick is in transferring all your old media files to LG Optimus G; Plug your old phone and new phone into seperate USB Ports on your Desktop, Laptop or Pad. You may have to download a dedicated program for the Optimus G. Now you see both Both Phones that have been given dedicated drives. You see Media, Audio, Music etc. on your old phone.. just copy over the files from your old phone to the new one. The LG Optimus G instantly reads those files and embeds then into the Media Players. I did find a problem with Videos that were coded standard MPEG 1 and 2 would not play in the Phone's Video Player. MP-4 was good to go. Seems to have a problem with older codecs. The true HD Widescreen or Full Screen is pretty damn amazing! This has to be the best Screen on the market for a Consumer Handheld Device... so therefore, LG.. you get 5 Stars!

First of all, my husband and I share our 1400 sq ft home with three cats, and when we moved into our house a few years ago, we quickly realized that the previous owners (who kept two GIANT white dogs indoors) probably ran a vacuum over the carpet maybe just once or twice a year--if that. Our little Panasonic canister vac that migrated with us from our apartment just wasn't cutting it anymore, and it got to the point that every time I vacuumed with it, it'd get so clogged with hair that I'd have to stop and take the whole thing apart, clean it, and put it back together at least two times. I DREADED vacuuming and felt like I was completely wasting my time. As dirty as the carpet was when we moved in, I felt like even if I vacuumed twice a day every day and shaved the cats, it would never be clean. My mom offered to make a pass on our floors with her carpet cleaner, but our carpet was so bad that it broke her cleaner! We were able to finish cleaning it with a rental, and we pulled up quite a bit of the old hair embedded in the carpet fibers--but still not enough. However, I'm happy to report that the LG Pet Care Kompressor has totally saved us from our hopeless dirty carpet rut :) Seriously, when we fired this thing up and unleashed it on our carpet, it would have made a fabulous TV commercial. My jaw literally dropped when I saw our dirty, matted floors finally transformed into plush, immaculate carpet. It's like brand new! The canister is quite large and roomy, but it picked up enough dirt and hair to fill a full garbage bag--before we had even gone over half the floor!!!! If you're skeptical about the durability of this machine, don't be. If this thing could make OUR high pile carpet spotless, I can guarentee it'll clean ANYTHING. Even if it works just half as well a year from now, LG isn't going to hear a peep of complaint out of me :)And the ergonomics of the Kompressor are truly genius. The retractable cord is pretty awesome for an upright, but you don't even have to bend over to hit the rewind button--it's right near the handle, as are the on/off and agitator on/off buttons. Plus, the pile height selector is a foot pedal--not an annoying dial at the head of machine like most vacuums. And I love, LOVE the hose and attachments. The construction of the hose is diffcult to describe, but it's absolutely brilliant in every way. A magnet on the side of the machine keeps the hose in place when not in use, and it's got an amazing stretch to it. The little mini pet vac attachment is PERFECT for de-furring our catposts and couches, and the hose suction is phenomenal--way stronger than any other vacuum I've ever used. And the vacuum is SO quiet! I was really surprised that I could run the vacuum and actully carry on a conversation without shouting. Oh--and another awesome feature LG doesn't even mention in its promotional material is that it separates solid objects (like change, jewelry, paperclips, buttons, etc) in a separate compartment from dust and hair, so no more accidentially sucking up a lost earring or screw and tossing it out with the dirt and grime!Perhaps the very best part is the Kompressor technology itself. Unlike most canisters that open from the top and send dust flying everywhere, this vacuum doesn't spew dust at all, and the canister empties from the bottom with a simple push down tab on the back. You simply lower the canister into the garbage bin, push down the tab, release the dust/hair clump, and snap the bottom back into place. The Komperessor wiper inside the canister cuts down on static electricity and compacts the dirt and hair so the dirt falls straight out and doesn't fly around everywhere when it's released.I am just so, SO impressed by this vacuum. I could probably keep going on and on about the thing all day :) I never thought I've ever ENJOY vacuuming my carpets, but now that this machine makes it a productive endeavor (with a lot of convenient perks), my attitude about vacuuming (and my carpet) has totally changed. The only thing that's a potential deal breaker is how heavy the vacuum is. If your house isn't one-floor, you're probably going to dread lugging it up the stairs. LG does make a lightweight version (the luv250c), and I can imagine it works just as well--but expect to pay an extra $50-$100 for it. Not sure why the lightweight is more expensive (seems kind of ironic), but clean carpet like this is truly priceless :) We only have one floor in our house, but when we finish the basement, I'll probably get a second vacuum that will be the downstairs vacuum rather than drag this one up and down. I hope they're still making this model by then because it's officially the only vacuum I'll ever allow to touch my carpets!

I will admit, I was a little skeptical about getting an LG vacuum. I had never heard of such a thing, but I guess they are getting into the game. Here's a little background before I get into the details of the LG:- My fiance and I have 4 dogs: 2 Yorkies, a Yellow Lab, and a Siberian Husky. Plus a few cats...which means a LOT of hair.- Our house is mostly hardwood, but with a lot few area rugs and a LOT of runners. (Why so much carpet over hardwood? Cause the runners are washable, and the hardwood is slippery for the dogs.) The back room is all carpet, and our backyard is very sandy soil. That translates to a lot of sand in the house.- Previous vacuum was a Shark Infinity. Not the Navigator, the Infinity. The Infinity model was the Navigator's predecessor, and it did well for a good 2 years, but recently started not picking up as well.On to the LG....Unboxing was nothing to get into details about. I read reviews here, and took great care to make sure that I didn't over-tighten that one screw that connects the handle to the base. So much care, in fact, that I didn't tighten it enough and scared myself when the buttons on the handle didn't work. A quick twist of the screwdriver got it back into place.First test: The large area rug in the living room. By large, I think it's 12 by 15 or 18. Note that the fiance vacuumed with the Shark the night before. One pass with the LG had me thinking I may have sucked up a cat. I was shocked! (Oh, one other note here: I have pet allergies and take Zyrtec...well, the generic...every day.) I grabbed the canister off the unit and walked over to the sink. Yes, the sink. Again, after reading the reviews here, I wanted to inspect what I sucked up to see if it was mostly carpet fiber or was it hair/fur. A quick push with the thumb...SPLAT! Two clumps fell into the sink. Go figure, the Kompressor thing really works. I started to pull the clumps apart to find very little, if any fiber from the rug. Nope, this was all hair and sand. Of course, now I had the issue of how to get it all from the sink to the garbage can, but that's not your problem....Second test: The back room. Mind you, not only is this the sand trap for the backyard, but it's also where our husky spends most of her time during the day. Now, I didn't actually do the vacuuming here, but I witnessed the clumps when the fiance was done. No fibers...although, the back room has a sort of industrial carpet, similar to indoor / outdoor stuff (was there when we bought the house), so I wasn't expecting a lot of fiber. I also wasn't expecting as much sand as I saw. Just goes to show how much more suction the LG has over the Shark. All in all, I think the rest of the points in other reviews were right. Yes, it is heavier than most vac's its size. Yes, I fear the buttons on the handle might wear out quickly, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. Yes, the retractable cord is a nice feature, and it's damn long too! The last thing to touch on is the turbo brush thing. I've found that any brush like this one, where the beater bar moves due to the suction and not a motor, is all about the angle. It takes a little bit to get the right angle to make contact with the surface and keep the bar spinning. Once you get that worked out, it's effective. Not great, but it'll do.UPDATE - Jan 4, 2012:The LG is still going strong. We had one issue with it, and seems a lot of people had this issue. The screw that holds the handle together at the top of the canister broke on us. I would have taken a star away for that, but even with the screw breaking, the canister still locks tight and the handle stays in place when vacuuming. "What's the screw for then?", you ask? It holds the handle in place when opening the top portion to get at the filter. Nothing more. So it takes 2 minutes instead of a minute to change the filter. Meh, not worth pulling a star over that. If I wanted to, a little Gorilla Glue would probably fix it lickity split.UPDATE AGAIN - Aug 18th, 2012:Still no new issues with the LG. Why am I updating again? Because it happens that today Amazon had the vacuum for a CRAZY price. To add to my previous review though, some Gorilla Glue fixed the handle where the screw broke. If I had to make any negative comment on it right now, it's that the filters seem to need cleaning more often than they used to. It's possible the wife...cause damned if I'm going to do it...hasn't cleaned them as often or as thoroughly as she shou....I mean, could. hBut having two filters eliminates downtime. Once every 3 months or so I take the whole canister out to the driveway, fire up the compressor, and get all the caked dust out of the thing. Reading some of the newer comments, I have to laugh at the folks complaining that it's heavy. Almost EVERY review on here says that it's heavier than average. If you say "it's heavy" and "I did my research", uh...no. Every other review here says this thing is a ta

ATTENTION THIS PHONE WILL NOT WORK ON ANY USA CARRIERS 3G/4G!!!!GSM EDGE ONLY!Okay...with that out of the way...The only people who should be considering this phone are...1. Those who ARE or are looking to get OUT OF, $80 a month 2 year contracts.2. Those tired of the "Is that a mini tablet in your pocket or are you just happy to see me" syndrome.3. Those tired of said mini tablet going flaccid at most inopportune times do to "awesome 10 hour!" battery life...(but its got a 4.5" screen!!)4. Those honestly over the whole can't live with out 3G!! smartphone fad. BUT would still like to keep a phone with Smartphone Android capabilities. The L3 is LG's smallest of the "L" series (L for luxury...lol)Phones, with the larger L5 and the mini tablet L7.This phone is compact but not tiny, wide and slightly thickerthan todays slate like phones (The Moto Triumph for example)It feels good in the hand unless you have the hands of a 10year old.Running Gingerbread 2.3 + a Qualcom snapdragon, modestlyclocked at 800mghz and 157mb of system RAM, it's not going to"hang with your buddies dual core Droidz XXX" but for whatit is...it's pretty snappy, smooth and responsive. This is not a phone to load up with fluff, the core neededapps are there, so only the essentials should be installed.Reception is great (from 1 to 5 a 4) the rest of the radiosfare even better, the wifi radio is strong and snappy evencapped at 3.5mb, The GPS is also reliable even on edge.Speaking of EDGE (the phone's only service availablein the USA).In my experience I've found that GREAT edge service,(3 bars +) is better/faster than poor 3G (2 bars -).So far I have 24 apps installed and 34mb free of system RAMBUT I'M ROOTED allowing me to move near all apps to theinternal 1GB ram that the phone treats more like an externalSD card. (this is an odd but cool feature)Call quality is average, I've been told I sound loud and clear.Thought on your end callers tend to soundloud but somewhat "plasticky" as if they were speakingthrough a plastic sheet...weird. This may be due tothe loudspeaker sharing real estate with the receiver.Headphones sound pretty good thought I'm no audiophile. The BEATS driver can be installed for ever so slightlyimproved headphone sound quality. (do so at your own risk, but not before BACK UP!)CONCLUSIONI could go on but it's getting long. It's a compact handsome phone, with fantastic batterylife (3 days heavy use/4 days moderate/reports of 5 to7 days standby)LG's own tweaked Gingerbread is pretty nifty, with a fewtouches of ICS and a clever app manager. Is it perfect? nah...Sometimes sound settings revert to stock. The phone could have used a light rubberized coating tothe batt cover (it is textured) as it sometimes feelsa bit slick.LAST WORDThis phone uses a QVGA display (125dpi 3.2" screen) this isconsidered laughable by smartphone standards as manyfeature phones still use this for displays. But PINCH ZOOM/PAN works wonders...lolCamera is decent outdoors, useless indoors in low light.

Its a brand new phone with high configuration, in generic packaging. Includes 16GB microSD card & updated firmware to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 :-). What more you need!!!? & I paid $187 for it (on 29 Jan, 2014). BUT, I received this phone today (10th Feb)!!! Shipping was terrible. It supposed to be delivered on 6th Feb, but... :-|. I was very angry!!! but when I opened the box... wow! it was an awesome experience!!! I definitely recommend this phone!!!Edit (24 Feb, 2014): Still flawless performance after 24 days of power usage. You just can not ask anything more on 'performance' department. I could not utilize 2GB RAM, it is more than enough. Quad core CPU is super fast. I see many users complaining about battery life. Well 2100mAH is not enough for a android device like Optimus G to run 24 hours on moderate use. However, you can get that much of battery life by turning on 'Eco Mode' from setting menu. And about camera performance, it is doing pretty well. Images are fairly sharp enough, though the front facing camera is not that sharp. But you have to consider its price. In this price, this phone is the best phone ever!!! I still, highly recommend this phone.

After checking reviews and looking at features of different vacuums and destroying all my 80-150 dollar vacs i decided to just say screw it and buy this LUV200R and I'm glad I did. I've owned this thing for over a year so I'll go over the pros, cons and how it stacks up to the kirby sentria 2011 model.Pros:Compression of dust and fur in a clump for an easy brick drop from the bottom of the canister. (eg: dip half the canister in the trash, hit the latch and it drops right in)Sucks up dirt better than a dyson or any other canister vac. This thing DESTROYS the dyson animal as far as performance.Relatively quiet for it's class.Metal extension hose with magnet. If your as brutal with a hose as i am, you will learn to appreciate the durability of a metal extension. Also the extension will extend an entire story of your steps so the vacuum can be at the bottom of the steps and still get all your stairs.On/Off button with the brush for hardwood/linoleum.Sucks just as good as when i first purchased it a year ago. Make sure all the filters are cleaned out regularly and no obstruction is in the inlet/hoses.Overheat Sensor: This was a big pro as my wife vacuums for so long that she burns the motors out. This thing has a safety switch so that if it overheats it preserves the motor so you can clean out all the filters and go back to cleaning again.Does all the sales gimmicks Kirby Salesman do:I had a Kirby salesman throw his pads on the suction entrance of the kirby and did the same with the kompressor (all of them stayed)Vacuumed up the baking soda with my Kompressor, Kirby vacuumed up enough to have a thin film on the black pad. I cleaned out the filters, and the canister and vacuumed up more baking soda after the kirby.Throwing torn paper in an upside down kirby, the kirby spit some up and sucked some in, Kompressor did the same.Kirby could barely pick up any dust on their salesman pads.Overall i still bought the Kirby, but only because of the Cons I will mention below and that you can tell it pulls more CFM with it's power-plant.Cons:Plastic and rickity after a year of use. Plastic can only take so much abuse before it starts feeling not as "tight" together. I prefer something sturdy and reliable after use. The plastic latch for the canister is a bit finicky and takes some finesse to best use it.If you have a husky and border collie like i did, it will grab the hair like non-other but it risks clogging if you dont vacuum regularly. The inlet is just prone to clog if you haven't vacuumed in a week and they are shedding. I purchased the kirby mainly for this reason. It took me a while to get all the hair out from the inlet of the vac so that it would suck again. dis-assembly of where the brush was and a coat hanger wire was my friend.Weight, my petite wife struggled to get it up the stairs.Retractable cord is very nice but after a year the spring is worn and you are left with a foot of cord left. I would retract the cord about 12 feet so it would gain momentum to get it all in.Overall:For $300 vacuum it destroys competition. If you are looking for a light vacuum, you will dread this one. If your looking for something that cleans the hell out of floors and that you can stack up to a kirby and cant afford one, get this. You will enjoy cleaning with it knowing your floors are in good hands. For a plastic vacuum, this one is fairly sturdy and will last you years.
