- + "Поезди по столу" с резиновыми ножками, и весом в современный "Блю-Рей/ДиВиДи"(как влитой стоит).Тихий настолько, что даже боязно - как он там ?Кнопка "ON/OFF" - не нужна, включаю в бесперебойник, а им после общего выключения системы обесточивается всё - и основной блок (КОМП), и питание монитора, и этот девайс.Всё читает, грамоитно пишет, кроме БД - это стоило бы вдвое.В комплекте диск с действительно полезными "дровами", хотя я их не ставлю - зачем, "Хрюша"(сп3 рус., легальная) опознала его "сполпинка", да и Неро...

C техникой от LG дел не имел, но все-таки решил купить их привод. Хотелось именно внешний, для домашнего использования, это очень удобно (лежит на столе, красуется).

Пишет хорошо, проблем не возникло ни с двухслойными, ни с двухсторонними дисками, даже не очень хорошего качества. Работает тихо, звук приятный. На сайте LG не указано что поддерживается...

- - довольно долго думает, прежде, чем начать раскручивать диск иногда это раздражает.
дисками пользуюсь мало, но иногда DVD необходим. Это одна из первых моделей с SATA (только из-за интерфейса и купил). В принципе у меня нет каких-то особых требований к приводу. читает dvd и пишет хорошо, а что еще надо? Диски вроде не запарывал. Лицензионные игрушки с защитой всегда взламываю и делаю это принципиально - они грузятся без диска быстрее :)

I've owned this burned burner for almost one year. I use it primarily to back up HD video data and also to burn Blu-Ray movies. I use this in conjunction with my HP dv7 i7 quad core laptop.The exterior of the drive is nice, the top and front and rear are white, all other sides are black. The exterior isn't super shiny but the black plastic gets smudges easily. Not a problem for me at all. The front panel features a blue activity light which is not visible behind the black plastic trim under the disc tray. The light is not super bright or annoying. The load/eject button is touch sensitive and does not move when pressed. This takes a little getting used to, personally, I would have preferred a button that depresses, although one could argue it is one less moving part to worry about. Not a big deal at all. The drive tray holds standard 12cm discs and the smaller 8cm discs. The drive is made to be used horizontally or vertically and includes a stand to accommodate the vertical position. The rear panel has a USB port, eSATA port and DC power plug. There are also ventilation slots above these ports. The bottom has six small felt foot pads.The drive includes both eSATA and USB cables and also an eSATA bracket for installation in a desktop PC. The power supply is not massive and has a generous cord length. The transformer includes a small green LED to let you know it is energized. The drive gets quite warm during use but not excessively. In standby, it doesn't get warm at all.The package comes bundled with Cyberlink Blu-Ray suite software, which can only be installed from the blu-ray drive. This bundled software is okay and will enable basic users to make Blu-Ray movie discs as well as the usual DVD and CD discs (data discs, video, music, backup, etc.) Editing options are limited but sufficient to make home movies and such. I prefer NERO multimedia suite to compile and burn my projects.The drive itself burns very quickly and I have made no coasters with it so far. I use Verbatim media, and LTH discs work well with this drive. A 25GB disc will burn in about 30 minutes at 2.3X. That is a media limitation, not a drive limitation. Using the eSATA drive improves performance and reduces the burn time by 10 to 15 minutes. The difference between USB and eSATA isn't noticeable with DVD or CD media. The drive also supports lightscribe, which I use from time to time with DVDs.Finally, the drive allows you to view Blu-ray movies with the bundled software.If you are thinking of getting this drive, I highly recommend you also buy one Re-writable Blu-ray disc to make test burns, that way if you make a mistake in your project you can make changes and not make a coaster. Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, you miss small details before you burn the final project.In all, this is a great drive, it's a little pricey but definitely worth it if you will use it with any regularity.

I read the reviews here (which I always do especially when buying an item like this). All the reviews were good so I took the plunge. MISTAKE. COSTLY MISTAKE. After installing the software (what there is of it) and connecting the drive - that was easy enough.The problem is with the drive's burner abilities. I bought a 20-pack of Verbatim blu-ray 25gb discs plus the one that came with the drive.I spent almost 4 hours burning one blu-ray disc using the software provided from my Panasonic HD camcorder. There was less than 1 hour of material. The disc finally finished and finalized (or so it said) and was then verified. According to the program all went well. I then ejected the disc and put it in my blu-ray player. Guess what?"ERROR". Disc is no good.That was it for me. At the cost of this recorder and discs there's no way I'm having coasters.I burn using DVDs (single and dual layer) using only Verbatim and never ever have had a single problem. I don't buy cheap so I expect what I buy to work.So I go to the Amazon site to return the drive and discs. The discs have not been opened as I used the disc that came with the drive. Well, Amazon is making me pay to return these items. I'm also a Prime member. This takes the cake.I urge anyone even thinking about buying this OR ANY BLU-RAY recorder drive from Amazon to FORGET IT. Amazon has always had a good policy with regard to defective items but seems that's only with certain items and especially not with regard to computer drives like this one. It's going to cost me over $10 just in postage (insurance will add an extra $4 or $5 to the total). A costly mistake on my part and a warning not to assume those who write reviews that are favorable to a product will mean your experience will be the same or even close to the same. And it doesn't help that YOU will be the one out the money for return shipping not counting re-stocking fees. Life and learn - how true that is.Consumer be AWARE!

Having produced SD videos, we were faced with a new challenge for our latest project, a 90 minute full-length feature titled "Fell", to receive its world premiere at the "Another Hole in the Head" Film Festival in San Francisco during July 2010. The catch? While the theater supported many HD formats, our only real choice was to deliver the movie on Blu Ray. We're running Final Cut Pro 6.x on the Mac and it does not support BD. So what to do? Toast Pro 10 with the BD plug-in and this LG burner appeared to be our only salvation. And it was.Anyone who does this work knows how time consuming the entire process is. We exported the project as a Quicktime HD 720p movie and about 5 hours later we had a single HD QT file. Then it's simply a matter of loading the HD file into Toast and burn the BD disc. The BD encoding takes another 5-6 hours, the actual disc burn takes some time at 2x, then a verify. We used the Verbatim BD-R LTH, 25gb 2x discs. About a 12 hour process in all.The result? Amazing! The Toast Pro BD codec is incredible. The final movie version looked better on Blu Ray than it did in FCP. And the movie received a standing ovation. :-) Note: You cannot view BD movies on the Mac with this package.I've burned BD, SD-DVD, and CD-R with this LG drive. iTunes 9.x is happy to use it to burn music CDs. And you can do disc copies between the LG drive and the Superdrive. The BD disc played flawlessly at the theater and on my test unit - a very basic Samsung Blu Ray player.It works!

I don't use it that much, I've burned maybe 30 DVD's and only about 5 Blu-Ray. 11 months after purchase it quit working. Two other negatives. It won't actually play a Blu-Ray disk on the computer without purchasing additional software and the on/eject button is electronic and doesn't work half the time. It take repeated efforts to finally get a response. I have other LG products that have been pretty good but I'm going to rethink the brand name.

i love this drive, and even though its obselete now its still great, buy the 12x one though its the current one and will be even faster.this drive can write a SL BD-R in 25 minutes on my old 2002 computer. it can write a cd in 49 seconds on that computer and when hooked up to my more modern laptop it can write a CD in just 25 seconds, its insanely fast.it also hasnt produced a single coaster (this may be because im a tedious person who checks every possible error, but still, good track record) out of the hundreds of disks ive written with it.

4 stars only because it burns 8x, not more. The unit itself is sleek for a desk top model. No issues setting this puppy up on my Intel i7 chip @3.2 Ghz. 64 bit, Windows 7 home premium.Always use major media suppliers. I use Verbatim and have never had an issue.
