I recently started cleaning up my storage space on my iMac and quickly found out that my 700MB or 4.7GB burner was not going to do the trick. I have over 400GB of images and video that I need to backup. I found some reviews where users stated that this LG Blue-ray burner was not supported by Apple. This is true so an option is to purchase Roxio Toast Titanium (Std version $79 and Pro version $120) and it works great. I was able to offload 400GB of data onto 8 DL Blu-ray disks. I am definitely happy with the performance and stability of this unit.Rob0572

There were reviews stating that it flat didn't work, some said the software was defective or missing.It's a dud. I should have sent it back immediately.

I bought this item for my husband for Valentine's day, as he's been wanting one, and I figured that this would be a great Valentine's gift, one last "big spend" before the baby got here, since he's been so great even though I've been a crazy hormonal woman. (Those of you who've been around pregnant women will understand!) So I'd been looking for one, and the one he'd originally found (he wanted one that was e-sata compatible) was just outside our price range. Then, I came across this one, and I read over the information. To make sure it was exactly what he was looking for, I showed him the reviews and the product information. He liked what he saw, and a while later I went back and bought it when he wasn't around.It works very nicely, and came exactly as described. He was like a little kid on Christmas when he got it, and he has been very happy with it's performance. I would definitely recommend this product to others.

This is a great burner just wished had a better support for Mac. Although LG clearly says that this is a PC drive but works with Mac too. Of course there is no support for Mac so you are on your own. So far so good with my Mac Pro late 2010. On and off switch in the back is hard to reach!In Mac case, drive prevents computer to go to sleep. I don't have eSata on my Mac so I use it with USB wire included. Over all very nice drive and has not burned bad DVD yet, lightscribe works too but I have not been that impressed.

I am using this on a MAC book pro with Leopard Snow (OS 10.6.8) and it works like a dream. No software needed to install to make this work. Just plug in the USB and insert a DVD or BluRay and you see the drive in your Finder. I recommend this to all MAC users out there.

This model is the 12x LG BE12LU38. arrived in good condition. Tasteful white on black design. Using esata connection.so far burned 2 discs. Optical Quantum 2X 25GB BD-RE Blu-ray Blank Disc Logo Top, 10 pack and one Maxell Blu-ray Rewritble Dual Layer 50GB 1-2X. success with both on first try using imgburn. Ps3 users make sure you uncheck 'prefer format without space areas' for 50gb discs.Looking forward to trying some 6x bd-r 25gb discs for quicker speed. Drive is quiet.cons: priced dropped $4 since I bought it last week.reference the older BE12LU30 for pictures LG External 12xSuper Multi Blue Lightscribe Blu-Ray Rewriter BE12LU30 . Similar except for adding 3D playback.

Excellent. eSATA, USB, very fast, this is for professional use 12XThis is the only Blu-ray in the market that have 12X speed.And it has eSATA, it's super fast.The power adapter is included.It also works perfectly with my iMac 27 i7.

This frickin' thing is the Cadillac of burners. It's fast and quiet and just churns out disc after disc, perfectly. I've had mine for going on a year now. It is used heavily for both DVDs and blu-rays. My next problem with it will be my first. Can't recommend this Bad Boy strongly enough.
