+ 1. Компактный. До этого использовал более универсальный но и более громоздский вариант с внешним блоком питания
2. Добротный, толстый мини юсб
3. Легкий
4. Определяется любым оборудованием

1. Провод слегка коротковат, хотя у меня не было с этим проблем
2. Скорость ниже чем у SATA версий раза в 3, что и понятно ведь он usb

В целом отличный вариант для полевых условий

Купил я этот привод, как приложение к ноутбуку без встроенного привода. Опробовал когда загружал на ноутбук игры. Привод мне понравился. Рекомендую тем кто приобретает ноутбук без встроенного DVD привода. Питание его через USB 2.0

В этом отзыве я расскажу вам о новом приводе, так как старый уже некорректно работал, но он прослужил мне достаточно очень долго. Теперь расскажу о новой покупке, о приводе который купил недавно, производитель привода является LG, я этой компании доверяю и решил взять именно ихней фирмы привод. Буфер памяти привода составляет 2 Мб, Скорость чтения данного привода как я вычитал из документов показала средний результат CD: 48x, DVD: 16x, BD: 8x, но при использовании чтение и запись гораздо быстрее чем я ожидал. Но диски BD немного медленнее грузит. Но так-то я очень доволен данной покупкой, работает корректно, не сильно шумно. В приводе есть ток один минус, стоит он дороговато, я даже не думал что куплю по такой цене.

Сегодня купил себе BD-Writer LG BH10LS30 sata black достаточно не плохой сидюк, вот пишу перый диск, 25 гигов на скорости 8х пишет - 17 минут, ну и диски BD-R не особо дорогие...

- На Mac OS Catalina отказывался работать при подключении к включенному ноуту. Если ноут выключить, подключить привод и включить - работает. В Mac OS Big Sur ошибка была исправлена - определяется при горячем подключении.

After I received this burner, it worked perfectly for approximately 20 hours of use. It then failed to berecognized by my Win 7 or Win 8 computer. When plugged in, it made a re-cycling clicking noise.I called LG support and reached this fellow who was written up in a previous comment:"I called LG customer service today and of course the phone was answered by an Indian. He was like a defense lawyer,catching everything I said and blamed me doing things wrong." I don't think I would have mentioned thenationality of the individual, but otherwise he was correct. He was hard to deal with.I finally got him to send me an address label to return the burner. What I got back was the same burner withthe exact same problem. So, I called again and asked to speak to the man's supervisor, when he told me thatthey couldn't afford to make another return. He then capitulated and told me he would send another addresslabel. I asked if they would send a new one this time, so we wouldn't have to go through this again. He toldme he couldn't guarantee that.So when I received the package from LG once again, it was the same burner with all the same problems. Nothinghad been done. I then did an internet chat at LG's website with more positive results. They have an optionwhich the phone rep didn't tell me about. You pay again full price with a credit card with the charge beingput on hold. You then have 10 days to return the original burner to have the charge reversed. So I did that.I'll let you know what happens.UPDATE: After weeks of talking to very low beat, non-responsive customer service techs, I was told that therewas nothing else they could do. LG FLAT OUT REFUSED TO HONOR THEIR WARANTEE. I asked to talk to the tech'ssupervisor, and he refused to connect me. So I am now stuck with a $400 paper weight. I've had other LG productsthat worked alright, but I will never buy another LG product after this experience. There are a lot of good reviewson this burner, but most reviews are written well before 20 hours of use. Mine worked just fine for 20 hours.My advise: get a lower cost burner or even 3 for the price of this one. Each of them will probably last longer.This a very complicated machine with a lot to go wrong. Wishing you all the best, and good luck.Note: I have worked as a computer technician and I tried to make the refurbs that they sent me work on 2 differentoperating systems, and on 3 different computers without success. When yours breaks down, they will send you a refurb.

I began by mistakenly ordering two(2) units from J&R through Amazon. I had to call Amazon's customer service quickly to change my order. The service people at Amazon were very polite and handled my order problem with no hassles. So, only one(1)LG-BE12LU38 was going to show up at my door. It came by regular ground within the time frame posted. The box was nicely wrapped in a thick gray plastic that saved it from the rain that was coming down pretty hard around Chesapeake Bay. I unpackaged the drive and inspected it for damage. It was in excellent shape with protective film covering the glossy white shell. I immediately began to hook it up and put it to work.I have a SATA port in my laptop which I connected. I didn't even give the USB port a second thought. But it's nice to have for troubleshooting port problems.A AC to DC plugin converter(wall wart) provided power. I would have preferred a regular three-prong power cord. However, there hasn't beeen any problems with power since I plugged it in. The power switch is a little slide switch at the rear of the unit next to the power plug. This is a little hard to finger the switch because it is recessed a little. I would have used a small button or lighted rocker switch for the job. But, it's a minor inconvenience. It has a slick chromed capacitance touch switch for the eject function which can be a little touchy.The software is all CYBERLINK stuff. It does have a diagnostic routine that will check out your laptop/PC to see if it is compatible to do all the BLU RAY and DVD functions. The routine gives a nice listing of the hardware it tested and whether it passed or failed. You must run this first! So you can return it if it has problems. My laptop passed but I did have problem, as you will read below.I played BLU RAY Disc, OK, and DVDs. However, when it came to playing back any data I recorded, output was choppy with studdering audio. It would occasionally crash. I bought the updated CYBERLINK DVD11 prog. The unit did the same thing. I spent some time troubleshooting and reading BLOGs, as well as, switching cables and ports. No Joy! I did finally managed to get all my drivers up to date and fixed some other minor bugs that have plagued me since I upgraded to Win7 Pro.After a week of this, I called LG. I explained to a service rep what exactly was happening with the video output, using a pile of notes I collected, during my troubleshooting. The REP gave me no problems. He told me to send it back to LG and they would replace it with a new unit. They even paid for all the FEDEX shipping. In three days I had it back and hooked up. I think they just replaced the guts of the unit because the serial number sticker and box hadn't changed.It worked like a dream and has been working as such since it was returned. GREAT! This machine is slick and worth what I paid for it. I only gave four stars because of the initial problems. If it had worked the first time out of the box, I would have given this device an excellent rating.I'm very satisfied with the BE12LU38 LG External Drive. It is pretty fast for it being external, having a SATA port helps. All in all, I'm very happy with the job it's doing.NOTE: The External Drive was purchase from J&R Electronics through Amazon and repaired by LG...

I picked this model because it was capable of the improved Esata transfer speeds. Check to see that the controller for Esata is enabled in the bios. My computer has both a front and back Esata port. The Esata front port wouldn't work. However, the front port USB port worked. So I had to move the BE12LU38 which is 10" long and 6 1/2" wide closer to the computer, so that the Esata cable would reach the back of my computer where there was another Esata port, which worked. The cable is about a foot to short. A 6' Esata cable is available at Amazon for around $8. I burned one BD-R disc with 18 GB of data in 17 minutes at 4x speed. And it verified. They include one free BD-R. Because of the cramped positioning of the drive due to the short cable, when the tray is open, it is slightly annoying to reach the underside close tray button. With a slightly longer cable, I could rotate the drive so I could reach the close tray button from the accessible side. I didn't bother with the burning/playing software that came with it. Windows 7 automatically installs the driver for the burner. Because I have a 64 bit version of Windows 7, I decided to get the newer software, Power Director 10 which makes use of the 64 bits. I ordered BD-RE, erasable, because though more expensive, a reviewer said in the long run they are cheaper than the write to only once, BD-R. I haven't tried burning a movie yet, the unit just arrived yesterday with a decent shipping time.Edit: The Esata cable is 3.2' long. If you have your computer on the floor, and running the cable up to your desk, the cable is long enough if you can position Burner drive in that radius, on your desk. Why buy this if you don't have an Esata port already? The conversion cable of usb to esata is only 12" long. It won't reach on my large motherboard and case. Do you have enough expertise to open your computer and install this adapter, if you have a smaller case where the cable will reach? For people with the standard USB 2.0 ports, I think buying the between $15 to $50 cheaper LG BP06LU10 is economically prudent. Whether at 2x or 6x or 12x, I don't sit there waiting for the data transfer to complete. It took 83 minutes to burn a movie to BD-RE at 2x.

I ordered this product and a pack of Phillip 25GB BD-R discs a week ago. After receiving them, I followed the instruction and installed the software. The instruction was kind of confusing. It didn't say which cord to use for installation - USB or eSATA. I tried eSATA first, but my computer couldn't detect the device. I then switched to USB, and got it recognized. After installing software, I used the drag-n-drop function to copy a folder (about 23 GB) to a disc (25 GB). A message popped up, saying the disc space was not enough. I then reduced the folder size to 21 GB, and tried again. The disc started to spin. After a while, an error message popped up, and the disc was ejected. I checked the disc and saw a very narrow band was written. I then tried formatting another new disc and copying, and got another error message. After wasting two discs, I gave up because I didn't know what else I could try.I called LG customer service today and of course the phone was answered by an Indian. He was like a defense lawyer, catching everything I said and blamed me doing things wrong. After listening my explanation, he finally told me that I bought wrong disc. He said that LG only recommend to use SONY and Panasonic brands for BD-R. I checked LG website and saw what he said was right. I then checked Amazon website (where I ordered the writer and discs), but didn't see any specification regarding the recommended brand. I didn't know that Phillip's BD-R is not compatible, and I am still not sure it is the problem. Any suggestion is welcome.

This drive looks very striking in black & white, and feels heavy and well-built. It's about 10.5 inches long, so you will need some space on your desktop.The front eject button is touch-sensitive, so don't make the mistake I did and press it hard.PowerDVD 10 software is included, and it can play Blu-ray and even Blu-ray 3D movies.They offer a discount to upgrade, for only $39 you can get the latest and greatest PowerDVD 12 Ultra.I have burned a Blu-ray data disc and it works fine, the write speed is about 20 MB/sec on Verbatim 6X BD-R media. So to burn a full 25 GB Blu-ray disc will take about 20-25 minutes. Not too bad!Ok so that's all the good stuff.NOW FOR SOME COMPLAINTS:-An eSATA bracket is included, but the cable is only 11 inches long, too short for my motherboard. Most eSATA brackets that you buy have 18 to 24 inch cables.-PowerDVD 10 software can play back DVD movies that have been ripped to the hard drive, but it cannot play back Blu-ray movies that are on the hard drive. I know for a fact that PowerDVD 11 allows this.-The OEM PowerDVD 10 software has lots of ads and 'click here to upgrade' buttons all over the place.-The power switch on the back is ridiculous! It's a small slider switch that's recessed into the back of the case, plus it's located between the power jack and eSATA cable, and there's no room for your finger. What a poor design. Hey LG, charge us 50 cents more and put a proper rocker switch back there! It never ceases to amaze me when a product is worthy of 5 stars, and then they make stup1d, obvious m1stakes like this.

I have a DELL XPS with Windows 7 Home 64-bit OS. Intel i7-2600 3.4GHz processor with 16gb RAM. I've got a pretty decent machine.Installed all the software and hooked up the USB cable. I just bought a Sony HDR-PJ260V high def camcorder for my trip to Disney World that has the PlayMemoriesHome software to create menu drivin blu-ray/DVD discs.I used the new Verbatim disc that came with the LG burner and it became an instant coaster after trying to create the first disc. Then another. Finally got one good burn and then another coaster. Decided to use the SATA cable and got one good and then another coaster. This is getting expensive!!After some thought, I would only run the Sony software and no other programs when buring. This worked. It's rediculous, but my reality.Tried to copy a good disc using the LG software, as I need to make copies for my mother and the first attempt gave me another nice $3 coaster...just great.Set the copy program to copy to the hard drive and then burn the Blu-ray. That worked.Summary:Don't run ANY other apps when burning video discs.Copy to hard drive and then burn to Blu-ray.Just my opinion.

The unit is a bit large, but who cares, the smaller units slip and slide all over the desk. This is perhaps the best drive I have owned, quiet and fast, no brainer operations. Light scribe works exceptionally well with a better than average speed. One flaw, upon opening the box, the software disc was cracked in half and not useable. A simple note and wham the software arrived. Wonderful communications, I am awaiting additional software at this time. The draw is solid and moves with absolute precision, not like some brands that seem so flimsy they will break. Overall an "Amazon Experience" of speed in shipment and great price. For persons looking for a bullet proof Blue Ray Burner, you will have to look a long way to beat this unit. I have found LIFE IS GOOD WITH LG. A great unit, great price and outstanding customer service, what more can one want?

What can I say it makes blu rays. The drive is extremely quick and holds maximum write speed through almost the entire burn. I have it hooked up through e-sata. Hooking this device up to usb 2.0 would be a sin, and would almost certainly take forever to get anything done anyway. I tried it usb just as a test using a dvd+r and it was taking way too long. On estata this drive is blazing fast. gets a bluray done in under 10 min. very forgiving regarding buffer under runs, It must have a large on board buffer though I never checked. For the price this is a must buy and blu ray media has certainly dropped in price.

I have no idea why this product is getting so many great reviews. It takes nearly 6-8 hours to create a blu ray if you want to put forth a full length blu ray together that is in normal blu ray and not full. Not sure what the good reviews are for, but I was quite disappointed that it would take soooooooooooooooooooooooo long to record a blu ray. Considering taking this thing back and never making this mistake again. Unless someone has other alternatives on how to burn HD quality blu rays at a faster time. ALSO, I notice after you sit through HOURS of waiting for it to burn, it does NOTHING to enhance the video like the box says. The box states that it can even make regular dvds and video files into HD quality to burn on to blu ray. LOL. It took HOURS to burn just to look exactly like the original source. Not worth waiting hours for the same recordings you can get on a regular DVD.

The software and drive worked without any difficulties in conjunction with Adobe Encore. My laptop e-SATA link works very fast with the drive. I'm not sure about the software continually asking for user input every time I booted up - so I turned it off; don't have the time. It plays beautiful BR on my HD TV through laptop.

I bought this as a present to someone who is in the Cinema industry where this would be particularly useful due to a malfunction of another one of the burner drives already possessed by them. The capabilities sound awesome and useful however not all of them have been tested neither the speed of the burning process. I think this product would be a use to any DVD editor or creator due to the quickness of the burning process as well as the lightscribe addition to make your product look a bit more professional.

Works with Mac? Yes and No.Drive runs disks and can read Blu-ray or give the user the ability to rip disks.The buck stops when one wants to BURN with this disk. On MAC the disk drive goes to sleep and disconnects automatically. Therefore, most apps that look for burning devices do not detect the drive. I am really disappointed with this drive. I cannot author Blurays with my Mac. I will have to find an alternative!

First off, this drive is the BE12LU38. The labeling on Amazon is a bit unclear.The drive is great, works with eSATA. If you don't have an eSATA port it comes with a bracket that gives you one from an internal SATA port. I haven't tried the USB because it doesn't seem worth it with the eSATA working. The power cable it comes with is some sort of non-standard affair. It works, but it's not the most robust design I've ever seen. The drive also comes with a blank, 25 GB Verbatim 6x BD-R.What the drive lacks, and why I gave it two stars, is working software. Included is Cyberlink PowerDVD 9 which won't play any blu-rays I own. You can either use a hack to circumvent the BD security (that's LG's solution) or you can get PowerDVD 11. Once I got PowerDVD 11 playback worked perfectly. This was on windows 7 64-bit. Basically, when you buy this drive, just expect that you'll need to get powerDVD 11 to actually use it for anything. As it ships it is unable to play movies. LG won't help in any way.The drive played Avatar without skipping even once. Everything was perfect. The drive was absolutely silent the whole time and didn't heat up at all.Lastly, the drive looks amazing with the white and black design. Something that LG downplays in pictures is the size of the drive. It's 240mm long which is the width of two Blu-ray disks. It also has a flashing blue light when playing. Not the most annoying thing ever as it matches my LG monitor's blue light, but it's a little obnoxious. The drive senses when it's playing back video and automatically silences itself, so I don't understand why they didn't kill the light too.

Well, the burner seems to work OK. But the lightscribe has two problems. First, no-one makes lightscribe blu-ray disks. So you can only use this feature for CDs or DVDs. Secondly, the lightscribe function rarely works. I found that I could write to DVD blanks only if I had not previously burned the DVD content. SO I successfully burned 2 out of 3 Memorex DVDs. But the drive would not recognize any of my Memorex CDs. I've had good results in the past from LG products but not this one.

I plugged in this eSATA drive and it was immediately available. Needed something that could read Blu-Ray disks. It does. I have not had a chance to write on any blank media yet so I cannot testify to its write performance. I like the touch eject button. LG came through on this one.

LG continues to make top quality electronics, love this burner the first time I pluged it in it scored a 10 in my book. Its fast and flawless.

great drive for the price. works great with mac products, came with some windows software, but wish it came with some software for mac

Si usa Mac, se los recomiendo; yo la uso con DVDFab y funciona excelente. Tengo una iMac 21,5 con 10.6.8 MacOs y una MacBook Pro 10.7.5 y funciona perfecto. Es rapid?sima y confiable.
