Improved Performance | Lightweight | Fits as expected.
I experimented with this solid state drive and I must say that it is of quality make and works as expected. My earlier laptop Dell Vostro was a laggy notebook which was taken care of after the installation of this solid state drive. The bootup time and task processing as well as context-switching has improved considerably after the installation of this drive. To make it more competitive added a set of 6 GB RAM that further improve the machine.

Good, but no cloning software provided
My existing HDD had gotten pretty slow, and I was looking to change to the SSD. I came across Kingston with a good deal and went for it. However, the cloning of existing HDD was an issue as Kingston does NOT provide any software for the same (which I was not aware) like Intel or Samsung does. Finding a free software which would do the job was a real issue. Finally I zeroed down to Macrium Reflect, which did the job. After cloning, the laptop has been working like a charm with NOTICEABLE difference in the speed, and I am pretty happy and satisfied with it. Go for it.

Windows users :
I have an entry level laptop . I put the ssd and windows runs smoothly now ! Even the animations ! If you have an entry level laptop and if you want to do normal web browsing and stuffs , the upgrade will be so much worth it for you !
Even if you are a power user , with more than the basic tasks , it is recommended ,but a better laptop will be more useful with an ssd for you .
I find it improve my laptop speed by 200% . But no improvements will be there in place you where you expect a cpu to work!
Linux users :
Only launching applications and boot time will be helped if you are a linux user ! Gnome animations wont improve ! This will improve the performance. , but wasnt much visible as it was in windows . Maybe its because i have an entry level laptop .

A very good add on for your old PC
I recently upgraded my old desktop using this SSD. The improvement was surprisingly good. I have ubuntu 20 installed on h61 motherboard and i3 processor. It was taking more than 1 minute to bootup but now It is booting up in less than 10seconds. Also I can feel most of the applications are opening instantly. It is a good investment for your outdated PC (for new pc's I would recommend the one with m.2 interfaces)

SSD made my old PC quite fast.
I still have a old desktop and with all my programs - I have kept using my old Windows XP ( I know - many of you will frown on this.) With my new SSD in place, my old desktop is now much faster and beating newer Windows 10 machines by a mile. I used a free mini Partition tool that I download to clone my old HDD on to the SDD. Then plugged it the SATA cable and changed some bios settings. Now I have a fast machine. Be careful if you are trying to use SSD for newer windows OS - getting them to boot as an external SSD is not always easy or even possible. Go Kingston - buy cheaper SSDs without worries.

Rise of the old machine...
I have 3rd generation i3 Sony Vaio laptop. Needless to say that it had become painstakingly slow. Booting Windows 10 required atleast 3 to 5 minutes. I am a developer and consistently need to work on Visual Studio software. Starting Visual Studio required 2 to 3 minutes.
I has decided to purchase a new laptop with i5 processor. Fortunately one day I saw this product available at such a cheap price (4300 RS) and immediately decided to give it a try. I replaced my Toshiba 500 GB harddisk with this SSD and immediately my old laptop was ready to compete with newer generation systems. Booting now requires below 10 seconds and Visual Studio also starts in merely seconds. Thanks Kingston for saving my 50K which I would have otherwise utilised to purchase a new laptop.

The SSD is very good... But I clearly tell you all buyer the ssd performance depends on your system configuration.. if your pc is too old then surely it effects on performance.. you need to better configuration for batter performance .. in the reviews you will see the people showing read and write speed pics and it's different in every pics.. thats shows all have different specifications.. better specifications better Result

Best upgrade you can do to your laptop
Let me start by saying that buying a ssd for your laptop is the best upgrade you can ever do to your laptop. There is a hell lot of difference between a HDD and ssd.i got this for 2400 but after 4 days the price reduced to 1900 but still trust me guy at this price range this is the best SSD and it's better than wd green.when a person changes from a HDD to ssd he feels like his laptop is on healthy drugs (weed maybe ) 😁😁

One Word to describe this hardisk is Magnificient
More than one month of usage now. I'm very happy to say that this SSD is amazing at this price. These are the sections I want to explicitly mention where I notice an enormous amount of improvement.
Windows Boot Time: before installing this SSD the booting time was between 18 to 25 seconds but now within 8 seconds it is completely booting with everything loaded.
Writing and Reading Speed: Like it is mention on the cover that you will get better speed than previously used normal hard drive.
Power consumption: My laptop battery improved by 30 mins after installing this SSD. So Recommended in gaming laptops.
Gaming: I notice a lot of improvement in gaming as now harddisk usage reduces and lagging problems resolved.
I hope you like this review. In future If I faced any problem regarding this SSD I will edit this review.

Starting Going dead after 2-3 months
First of all, installing windows on this device is nearly impossible. Windows wouldn't install on this device for some reason, so i had to first install windows in a hard disk and then transfer all the contents of the disk into this ssd.
Secondly, after 2-3 months of usage, it abruptly slowed down and stopped working. The pc just wouldn't boot from this ssd.

Happy with the purchase
I have a dell Inspiron 3542 2014 model the laptop becomes very slow. After purchase this SSD I have installed this in to the place of main hard drive and this main hard drive placed in DVD slot via help of caddy.
First put the ssd in to the main slot and then install fresh operating system on to that ssd, after installation pith the main hard drive in to DVD slot and boot again. Go to bios menu and check the boot priority order it was default the SSD because u have booted system first time with the help of SSD only save the settings and go on.
The system will boot every time with the SSD very fast performance I m getting only 5 seconds system boots up and no legs. Thanks to this SSD and Amazon.

great brand name but no quality
item delivered on 15th june 2019 . installed on 16th june 2019. stopped working suddenly on 30th june 2019. called the service tec. after checking he said that the drive is dead. the drive is not detected by pc. how to claim the warranty.

The Energy Booster - Fantastic Product!
One of the finest purchases I have ever had for the home PC. It just boosted the speed of the PC like anything. I can now start any heavy software just in a blink of an eye. The games are also starting up very fast. Just to keep everyone informed, it does not do any changes to the GPU of your pc so do not think it as a replacement of the graphics card. It would just start up all the applications quite smoothly. Mostly does a great deal of good to rendering work. If you are creating/editing a video the final output would be rendered much faster than a normal HDD would do. Fantastic product!

Great buy for HDD users, must for Windows 10 users
If you are thinking to upgrade laptop only due to slow performance for basic tasks also then think again. Buy a SSD, You will surely save lot of money and can squeeze out the remaining life of your old laptops and new one also which are budget laptops and comes with HDD. Good product especially for windows 10 laptops. Fast and smooth Perfomance. HDD is outdated now a days, use them only for storage purpose. Kingston is a good brand in memory and storage segment. Finally I can multitask with ease on Win10 & chrome is running super smooth.

In two words if could be explained is --"THE BEAST"
For a person who has just switched from HDD windows performance it would be really great for them as it really shows a great performance shift form minutes of loading to seconds and also not too expensive solution rather than upgrading RAM.
just one thing Is that one should go for atleast 256gb because most of the software you would be installing on SSD would be taking up space..and once you see the performance of SSD you would be shifting most of your data into it.

Good budget SSD
It's probably a QLC drive. Speeds are good enough for use as a boot drive. Write speeds are lower if you're transfering large file. Overall if you're stuck with a mechanical hard drive, installing this at a low price point will breathe new life into your PC. Build quality is good. I installed mine into a laptop. Works fine! I also bought a Crucial Bx500 SSD. I will give a comparative experience later.

Value for money SSD.
I installed 480GB version in my Asus laptop A553S along with 8GB RAM. The original cost of laptop was around 20K and in addition I installed these RAM and SSH, now the laptop is as good as 50K laptop as far as responsiveness and speed is concern. Disk become the performance bottle-neck in any computer, so adding the SSD improve the performance. Now that laptop boots in ~7-10 seconds. So far my experience is good. So you may go for it without a second thought.

Easy to Clone Windows with AOMEI Backupper Professional
I bought this SSD on 26 April 2019. It is working fine.
I tried to install Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit on this but it takes a lot of time like 14 Hours (I contacted the Windows Support and what I found is that it has something to do with Windows 10, like a bug maybe. I hope they will fix this on next update.). And in my area I had a power problem so it was not a good choice. So I tried AOMEI Backupper Professional and cloned my Windows 10 Pro 64 bit from my old HHD that was installed and boot it. Everything was working fine and the startup was really fast compared to my old HHD which takes 3-5 minutes to startup and another 2 minutes to start some startup apps. But with this new SSD my PC turn on in just 16 seconds and another 3 seconds for apps to startup. I am impressed.
Note: If you want to last this SSD for long use then avoid storing large files and store them in somewhere like in HHD or in external device. :)

Superb working..
Very light weight, very fast, superb working without any issues.
Easily you can make it external storage device, if you use it for external storage, it gives best security for your data. Preciously i used HDD, but many hdd are failed to secire my data, many hdd's are failed. And i loss all my important data, when i started using SSD, i feel better security for my data.

It's SSD time for Laptops
You want better Performance then don't just Increase RAM.. Upgrade your HDD with a SSD !!
Better go for 240gb one or Higher.. As Windows and other Apps take good amount of space on your storage.. So Avoid 120gb one!!
You must Install or Duplicate your Windows OS on SSD for better performance !! as a result Windows gonna Boot quickly and Apps gonna Open Faster...

Turbocharged my old laptop
I have an 8 yr old DELL Studio 15 laptop which works fine. I use it primarily for gaming along with some light use like learning new stuff like Python & watching movies. Lately, it had become terribly slow. After several tests, I determined that the hard drive (WD 7200 rpm 320GB SATA) was pulling the performance down of an otherwise brilliant laptop. Currently available laptops in the budget range don't have much more to offer than what this one already has & the latest gaming laptops are way too expensive. So I swapped out the old HDD with this one & reinstalled Windows 10 and other stuff that I use normally. Now it feels like the laptop is on steroids!!!

Makes your old laptop run on steroids
This become a very good addition to my Fujitsu Lifebook. I had lot of questions before I bought this product, initially went for WD(i didn't use WD, so can't comment about its performance) and then brought this one.
The difference was clearly visible when I started installing OS in it, it got finished in no time, with HDD it used to be a long wait.
The bench mark scores were exactly the same shared in other reviews.
I don't play games in my laptop so can't really comment on gaming performance. But boot is faster, so is the application launching time(tested word,excel, ppt etc.).
Really happy with the buy.

SSD At Affordable Price
I wanted to change my HDD with new one, as my old HDD (WD Black) was gradually failing, searched lot of sites & products, wanted to get another HDD, but saw the reviews were horrible (about failure of products within few months), so decided to buy SSD (first time, as I trust HDD over SSD because SSD have limited read/write cycles); among them Kingston SSDNow A400 480GB was beating the Price in SSD 500GB segment with descent TBW. Same was available on other sites for ~5.7k but love the Amazon delivery so ordered it from Amazon for ~6.1K (So 4 Stars!). Delivery was super fast. When received the product it was in sealed Tetra Pack (Genuine Product), Assembled in Taiwan (Great Relief! You Know What I mean...).
Pros:
Very Light Weight (feels like a biscuit, wanted to bite!) than my HDD (WD Black).
Thin than my HDD (WD Black).
Easy to install in my laptop.
Can be partitioned in GPT format (for UEFI BIOS).
Faster Booting of Windows compare to my HDD (WD Black), total boot time on HDD was ~3Min now its ~40 Seconds.
Faster Opening of Applications.
For regular operation gets descent copying speed from 2MB-90MB/Sec.
SOLVED FREQUENT HANGING PROBLEM PROBLEM OF MY LAPPY (ThinkPad E460).
Cons:
Poor speed while installing windows 10 Pro (1809) compare to my HDD (WD Black), took ~28 minutes (6th Gen i7 2.6Ghz / 16GB RAM), on HDD it was ~15 minutes.

This is DRAM-less ssd hence the performance is poor in random 4kib compared to more expensive Kingston uv500 and Samsung SSDs. It's get worse once it's starts filling up so don't expect incredible speeds. But then again at this price this is most affordable SSD you will get.

I m software developer, so i need to install some heavy development s/w on my laptop.
I m facing slow boot-up issue.
After upgrading HHD to SSD my laptop turnon within 10-15 sec. No lag after login.
Those who have 4gb ram with win10 i personally suggest this drive.
SSD can improve ur pc app loading time but for heavy app u should also upgrade RAM.

splendid Performance, looks and design oh also the weight is very very light
At first i was having mixed thought, i looked around for Youtube reviews and at the end i just go for it. When it arrived it was very light(weight) i thought it was fake but i put it on my VAIO laptop. Reformat the drive to GPT FIle system for Windows 10. I Ordered a HDD Caddy from amazon as well. Test it on both ports. The max read speed by placing at the HDD Caddy was around 276 Mbps, but when i switched it to the primary SSD (SATA port) it achieved unbelievable speeds. It was much faster than the reviews i saw it online, i.e around 547 Mbps. Whereas the HDD I.5 TB is used achieved only 73.5 Mbps I bought if for 2750 Rupees. It was worth it!.

Few terms that you should be familiar with:
TLC (Triple level cell): Single NAND cell can store 3 bits, therefore SSD will be cheaper, slower and deteriorate faster but will have higher capacity in similarly dense SLC/MLC SSDs. (You don't need to worry about SSD wear, this SSD is rated for at least 1 million hours MTBF.
Dual channel controller: Basically two concurrent streams of data querying capacity.

Kingston SA400 is a TLC Dual Controller Single Core (Phison PS3111-S11, last gen's most popular controller) SSD with no DRAM cache, pretty much the cheapest SSD can go.
Therefore it is slower and dumber as compared to Samsung 860 EVO, Kingston UV500, Crucial MX500. But it's also extremely cheaper.
The attached image shows the read and write speed of the SSD but these numbers are mostly misleading. If you are going for a SSD just to speed up the overall experience and snappiness of the OS, you should be looking for 4KB Queue depth of 1 and single threaded workload's read and write speed because that's the most common work load.
Now, a typical 5400 RPM HDD will have 4KiB Q1T1 speeds around 0.5 MiBPS read and 1.5 MiBPS write whereas you can see in the image that this SSD has ~35 MiBPS read and ~82 MiBPS write which is exponentially faster than HDD.
So, going with this SDD will have an exponential increase in speed as compared to HDD, while going for MLC/SLC SSD with DRAM cache and dual channel controller will have marginal increase in speed as compared to this SSD but a much more increase in cost.
Therefore, if you are tight on budget, go with this SSD without a doubt. But, if you have a specialized workload that can take advantage of higher queue depth speeds, multi threaded performance or sequential speeds and you have no issue in spending the extra money then go for more expensive ones. But, I would suggest to go with extremely high performing SSD like NVMe ones that directly communicate with the CPU using PCIe lanes, if you really want something above SA400.
TLC (Triple level cell): Single NAND cell can store 3 bits, therefore SSD will be cheaper, slower and deteriorate faster but will have higher capacity in similarly dense SLC/MLC SSDs. (You don't need to worry about SSD wear, this SSD is rated for at least 1 million hours MTBF.

Cloning Software required.
The ssd, like all other units is stable and quick. Price may be lower than some but it does not come with software to transfer the contents of the old hard drive. Unless you have the required cloning software for OS and structure transfer its better to get one which comes with the software.
Had a fair amount of trouble getting the needed software and then too.. Getting that software to work...
All in all save time and effort by getting one which includes the software.

best one in this price segment
Result in my 4th generation i3 4gb laptop attached here.Really a great cheap product. It drastically changed my 4th generation laptop performance. moving from 5400rpm hard disk to this ssd is probably best move. product came with a simple polythene is really disappointing. it would be great if came with bubble or box.

Took few minutes to install windows
I have used this to install windows and windows starts in few seconds and I have installed Windows 8.1 in 5-6 minutes however while installing windows 10 it took 10-12 minutes which is not bad.

Don't replace your laptop !!! Buy this SSD
My friend suggested me to go for this as he had bought this for his desktop, (I know that SSDs are bloody fast) but I had no big hopes for my laptop, but installing this was piece cake (disassembling dell Inspiron 3558's was pretty tough when it got to the DVD drive, the first time, later I got the hang of it and could do it with ease ) I had installed the windows and my laptop booted up in 17 seconds !!! It used to take about 2 minutes + (with all the apps), from 2+ minutes to 17 seconds and less is a huge improvement. The laptop looks like it drank coffee+redbull+cocaine !!! Google Chrome opens up in an instant or else opening that was a pain. This is worth it !!! It's better to go for the 240 gigs as the price difference between 120 and 240 is not much, this is worth the couple extra bucks. Couldn't test the battery performance as my battery is almost dead and I made the better decisions to invest in this SSD. My dad is impressed by the performance jump and I've ordered another one. Trust me guys, if you've 2600 bucks and want to upgrade your PC/Laptop, BUY THIS !!!

HIghly recommended, super fast and easy to install
Was lucky and grabbed it at Rs.1711 (plus amazon cashback during prime sale), installation wasn't difficult however reinstallation of OS was time taking activity (which is perfectly fine). After installing, I could feel the difference in my almost dying laptop to blazing fast one (later I upgraded RAM as well).
Highly recommended to anyone planning to upgrade to SSD.

No warranty
Amazon has been unable to provide proper invoice for the warranty purpose of this device. I have complained and requested escalation 4 times over past 5 months. Now I am fed up with all the follow up.
If Amazon cannot provide warranty for the products sold, they may as well stop selling them,
Coming to the product it seems to be getting very hot. Reaching 60~61.c upon load. Idles at roughly 55.c which seems a little high.

256 GB on my Macbook pro mid 2012. Is it worth the upgrade?
I recently bought this 256GB SSD at offer price for my Old sluggish mid 2012 Macbook Pro. Installation the drive was much easy than I thought, though you need right tool to open the back panel of Macbook. Don't create any partition of the drive, or else it will run slower than expected. I installed the latest MacOS Catalina and oh boy! After all the installation and feature rich MacOS my macbook runs like a 2019 device. 4 to 5 seconds of boot time and no lag at all. I am still using the stock 4GB(2x2) memory stick. I am wondering what speed I will get after upgrading the memory to 16GB. I am super happy to have Kingston SSD, it's fast, value for money. In offer it's the cheapest ssd with great performance.

Worked great as expected
Kingston SSD is a good product known for quality. As soon as I received delivery of the 128GB model I installed in my laptop and it became several notch faster to boot and responsive. A very welcome upgrade for anyone who struggles with a HDD. The removed HDD with a external casing I am able to use as a external HDD.

Don't think too much and just buy
Bought it about 2 days ago , fitted in my ideapad 330 which was just crawling whenever booted earlier with an hdd and now all the problems have just vanished , the slowness , heat , noise everything is gone . And furthermore I have experienced significant increase in battery life !! So as the review says go for it
(Note : At least try to go for 240Gb model , as you may regret choosing 120 Gb ..... Just Trust me
Also note that this is DRAMless SSD which have significantly reduced lifespan as compared to their counterparts, hence the shorter 3 Year warranty.)

Best and Worth
My brothers owns a Samsung brand SSD, we both are competitors so i bought this one, Installed Win 7 onto this, boot time as compared to a Normal spinning HDD is far better but as compared to samsung is a step behind. According to the price i`d say its worth and best affordable for all users.

Superduke Fast Go for it.......
No need to buy Samsung SSD s this one is fulfilled my purpose. Before my windows 10 is very slow the latest 1903 update and take to boot around 3 to 4 minutes. One reason is old (FX 8350) processor and my games fps drops (GTX 970) because of the motherboard 4+1 configuration which do not have heatsink. After i purchase this one , this one saved me i have no lags no fps drops in games and boot just in 5sec. Anyway need to upgrade my entire system. I strongly recommend all of u r looking for ssd.

but Hard Disk Sentinel shows this new ssd have 233 media wearout health condition 100% and performance 80%

best value for money
If am not wrong it's the cheapest ssd avaible right now in the market which giving you 480 gb of storage for this price i have samsung 850 evo and this drive installed in my system and this one works like a champ it's bit slower compare to the samsung one cause of the sata controller and the rapid software which utilize the RAM in order to speed up the SSD, but if you are looking for a drive to store games and in general want to upgrade from your HDD , just go for it you'll not regret it

Excellent product but unhappy for the torned packet
This ssd is extremely fast. I replaced it with my laptop 5400rpm hdd. Sony vaio vpceh35en. Now my laptop is as fast as new ThinkPad or Apple laptops, though my processor is 2nd gen i3 with 2 cores, 2.3ghz. After putting this ssd my laptop boot time reduced and now it boots within a few seconds, white previously it used to take more than 2 minutes. Any large softwares like Photoshop cs6, premier pro cs6, Illustrator cs6, Eclipse, Android Studio, Adobe pdf, Chrome browser, Firefox, Opera, Word,Excel, PowerPoint, etc fully within max 3-5sec, which previously used to take almost a minute to launch specially after boot. Write speed has also increase but I have not measured yet so cannot give any opinion. Even my battery backup increased so much. Previously while booting the laptop battery reduces to 7%-8% but now it reduces only 1% -2%. It's because ssd has no physical moving parts while hdd has small motor which makes the disc rotate. In ssd all the data are always ready to use but in hdd it has to search the data throughout the disc by rotating it which results slowness. The ssd is very light in weight compared to the hdd. But my product came to my with a torned packed. Shame on you appario retail. Another point is that I am using it on Windows 7, if you use this on Windows 10 then you can more faster boot time and faster app launch time because Windows 10 is a very optimized OS compare to Windows 7 and MacOs. If you have a good processor and high speed ram with Windows 10 then I can assure you that using this ssd you laptop or PC will run many times faster than Macbook pro. Though MacBook pro has m.2 nvme ssd but Windows 10 is more optimized.

Bad performance. Do not buy this.
Do not buy this one from Kingston. I got a 480GB model and it was giving 250MB R/W speeds. Almost half what it should have been. The sustained write gets to 100MB/s

The most valuable SSD in this price segment.
Installing this SSD definitely made my PC boot much faster. The apps launch at an instant and it feels like using a ver high end PC. For this price point this is one of the best SSD you can get. If you need even more higher speed I would suggest you to get samsung evo. Though there may be a 20-30% increase in performance that's all. But again its double the cost of Kingston. The only part where this SSD lacks is the build quality. Yes it's very light weight but the plastic just feels very much brittle. Feels like it may break easily. Other than that this is one of the best SSD out there.

The replacement works best.
Finally I got the replacement SSD drive and loaded windows using recovery disk. If you are a HP user and if you have system recovery media, avoid the application driver disk. It did cause error while setting up on new SSD. Now its all loaded and working perfectly faster. I used another tool called PC Faster and with the new SSD in place, my boot time on my HP Pavilion G6 is 40 seconds.
The SSD has all features as mentioned. It's metallic body, maintains the temperature and does not allow it to overheat. Use another tool called speccy to monitor the system temp, specs and issues.
