The audio quality is fine, but not amazing. It’s definitely not amazing for music, and gives everything a slightly flat tone that serious music lovers will probably find underwhelming. When used for something like a phone call, however, I found that voices were crisp and easy to understand. One thing that I did find strange was the fact that this headset must be plugged in to a USB-C port, which many older computers do not support without a USB-C to USB converter. The USB-C connector is great for my laptop which has a port for it, but at most offices I would expect that to be a problem.
These headphones do not go inside your ears, but they also don’t go over your ears exactly either. Rather they sit on your ears, providing decent comfort but nothing incredible. As a result the noise cancelling here is a similar story: good but not great. It’s very hard for headphones like this to provide great noise cancellation because they aren’t cupping your ears. In most office environments it should be enough noise cancelling to allow you to focus on your work, but it isn’t going to cut out all the noise around you.
If you’re using these in an office or call center, the ability to activate a “Busy” light with the press of a button is helpful. The red light is easy to see but not too bright. It’s a red light that can be seen on both sides, and which can be turned on and off by pressing a button on the right ear, where the microphone is located. If I had one complaint about this feature, it would be that the busy light does not turn on automatically when on a phone call or recording audio.
Seeing as these are clearly designed as a headset for an office or call center, the microphone quality is paramount. Thankfully the one feature where these headphones do get full marks is the microphone, which is easy to adjust and provides extremely clear audio quality. It isn’t going to be a replacement for a proper microphone if you’re recording audio for a podcast or for music, but as a microphone for a call center or to take part in conference calls it’s very good.
Overall I think that this headset does a good job at what it’s designed to do. It’s a decent workplace headset with a good microphone, ideal for working from home or at the office.

The headphone is very well built and comfortable. The audio quality is fantastic for audioconferencing, listening to the Audiobooks, podcasts or videos.
The soft and comfy ear cushions does not put pressure on ears and they feel very comfortable. The headphone is fairly compact and lightweight in spite of its sturdy build quality.
The microphone boom is very sensitive and it needs to be positioned close. You will notice immediate difference in audio when microphone is positioned far away vs closer. It should be noted that there is no active noise cancellation but microphone array in boom is designed such as it does not pick background noise coming from distance.
I like the way it lights up (Busylight) which gives indication to coworkers or family member that I am on the meeting. I like the way raising the boom mutes the microphone.
The controls are very well laid out and easy to use. I have both Microsoft teams verso as well as Unified Communications version. Our internal meeting within the company are always on Teams so Teams headphone makes more sense. There is dedicated Teams button on right ear cup. I use Unified Communication version as well as many clients external to our company do not use teams and they are using other platforms such as Cisco and Zoom. Both provides fantastic audio quality but if you are using primarily Teams, I highly recommend Teams version as it provides additional functionality for Teams calls.
Overall, I am quite satisfied with this headphone. This is one of the best headphone for New Normal of working from home and it will continue to be useful even if we move to work from office.

The headphones are designed more specifically to be used for meeting settngs - or at the very least designed to pick up voices clearly. On this part they deliver. Listening to my colleagues via various platforms online was easy and crytal clear. No static, to "tinny" sound and no dropped conversations.
I also used these for music and again, the sounds are great. You can easily hear all of the various sounds and instruments, singing comes clearly and there is none of that weird banging when it comes to the bass sounds, it is really easy to spend hours listening to the music.
There are issues, as far as I am concerned, which are serious problems.
First, the comfort.....nope. After wearing these for an hour or so, I have to take them off and massage my ears. They are weirdly designed as the ear part does not go into the ear like earbuds do, but rather it kind of sits on your ear and there does not feel as though there is enough padding.
Also, the adjustment buttons (volume, etc) are weirdly positioned and hard to manoeuver if you are right handed. I also find that the tuning buttons are too sensitive. Any button you press, no matter how lightly ends up shooting up or down the volume with not much of a warning, its not gradual, but rather an everything or nothing scenario.
Overall, these need some work, especially at this price point. I exptected better.

At the time of writing, these are 188$. That is one hefty price tag and with that you expect very high quality audio and mic performance similar to that of even entry level Bang & Olufson or audio technica m50 headphones.... Does this even come close?
Microphone:
The entire purpose of this is for conference calling and you expect very clear mic performance from this. It does deliver. I connected this to both my phone directly and windows 10 PC. I'm able to produce a good high quality crisp voice as received and heard on remote end. I'm impressed with it . It doesn't sound as deep and balanced as my USB condensor mic which I normally use for work conference calling but that isn't the same comparison since this is mic and headphone combo. This has a convenience of light weight boom mic without bulky mics and heavy headphones.
Music listening:
It's fairly decent. It has very punchy bass and crisp highs. It does feel a bit mid dipped EQ. Pop music sounds particularly good for that reason. It does somewhat decent job isolating sounds from being heard outside but not as good as full sized cans that fit around the ear. I find that although the audio sounds decent I expect a bit more from a nearly 200$ head set. The Pop music bias eq is not personally my cup of tea.
Comfort:
The headphones do not cover the ear. The rubbery pad just sits on your ear. This makes you sweat fast on the ear. And I found this not sustainable for too long. It isn't heavy at all but it simply gets too hot and sweaty to wear. That's a bit of a disappointing experience from comfort point of view especially when you know you're working in office or home at least 8 hours . Another issue for me is it's not dual sided mic meaning I can't flip the mic over to other side so the mic is facing my left side rather than right side. To be honest that's a huge issue for me since I'm used to the mic being on the left side. Rather unfortunate design limitation.
Controls:
All the controls is on the right side ear. There are no controls on the cable at all, which is a nice welcome.
There is the standard trio buttons on right ear . The tiny three buttons for toggling volume or track up and down also the middle button is a pause and resume. Reliably works. Then there's a button situated on the right side alone. This is supposed to mute and unmute the mic. I struggled here because it doesn't work for me. I tried on PC and phone. It simply didn't work. I thought maybe I have to install some kind of software called jabra direct .... I did so, but again it wouldn't work so I'm at a loss to understand why. There is one more button on the right side speaker. I have no idea what this does. It just makes a click sound. Doesn't actually do anything .
Software:
There is a Jabra direct software you can download for PC and MAC. It allows you to do some EQ and video conferencing integration for things like zoom or ms Teams. I found it rather useless to install
Personally I don't like installing things if I already can control everything through windows settings.
Conclusions:
I don't think I am too thrilled with this product. The price tag was hard to accept and with that it was even harder to accept the flaws in comfort, design, and strange non-functional mute buttons. I will admit for such a small light weight headgear this has excellent mic performance and respectable audio for music listening but the quirks I found during usage with my smart phone and windows 10 PC, was simply off-putting. You're better off looking elsewhere and probably for a more economical price point.

As for the headset, it does feel like a premium product with the soft matte rubber finishes plus the metal framed pieces that connect the speakers to the headband; With luxuriously soft ear pieces, they feel like small pillows that rest on your ears; Mind you the fit won't feel as secure as over-ear headsets and this is an on-ear designed headset that feels very lightweight and unobtrusive; I love that it almost feels invisible while working at a desk or in a virtual conference call with others.
With a USB-C connection, I did notice that audio performance is much more richer and defined when plugged into a PC; It does work on a mobile android smartphone with the microphone enabled as well; but, the sound is surprisingly much more weaker which I believe is due to a lower power delivery from the smartphone port end; Had I plugged this into smartphone first, then yes first impressions would have seemed lackluster; however, this is not the case when plugged into a Laptop or PC with a USB-C port; This headset does indeed have deep defined bass with exceptional voice clarity for the microphone and speakers.
I appreciate that the remote functions and buttons are located on the right side of the heaset; It's a very good placement without having a distracting in-line remote on the cord. I just wish the cable length was a bit longer as this is too short for connecting to the back of my older desktop PC that resides underneath my desk; I know that newer PC cases/towers may have front panel USB-C and this works great with modern laptops as USB-C has been more widely adopted.
This is definitely one of the most comfortable headsets I've worn in a while; Especially for longer periods of time, your ears can breathe with this on-ear design; I find that I can't wear over-ear headsets too long as they do get hot or sweaty depending on the materials of the ear cups. I can see why this is geared towards more of an office type of setting as this headset puts comfort first to provide much less fatigue.
When in a online meeting, the sound does project close to as if you were actually in the room with the people speaking because of the crisp focus on spoken audio from others; The wired option is great as there is no issues with audio quality loss, translation over wirless transmission, pairing issues nor having to remember to recharge every so often. It's quite comforting being able to maintain a stable connection and solid communications through multiple meetings.

[PRODUCT EXPERIENCE]
➔ The Jabra Evolve2 40 UC Wired Headphones arrived in perfect packaging along with a well constructed carry case. The headset itself feels incredibly durable (much better than competitors such as Plantronics) and is overall well designed from the outside. I was pleased to see Jabra moving to USB C which is the standard in 2020 for tech products.
➔ The microphone quality is outstanding and offers a clear & crisp voice; I asked my wife to call me using the Jabra headset in my home office while I stepped outside to test the microphone quality - I could hear her perfectly. The new Jabra line-up has the best in-class microphones of any headset in the business world. I have yet to find or see any headsets that offers such a good microphone. In addition, after concluding my Teams and Zoom audio/video calls, I would ask co-workers that I am close to for a comparison between my other headsets in the $150-300 range and the Jabra ended up being favored.
During my review, I experience no connectivity issues; the headset worked flawlessly and was instantly recognized on my MacBook.
➔ The only thing that is holding this headset back (and from my giving it 5 stars) is the comfort level. After just 20 minutes or-so, the headset would become uncomfortable and get worse the longer I had it on; it was on my mind during meetings and would distract me while I was presenting or listening. This is a big problem because our meetings can last up to 1 hour at a least. Initially when you put the headset on, you won't notice it much - there should have been more testing for prolonged usage by Jabra because the majority of people working from home will require a headset with excellent comfort level - if you ever tried Beats Solo 3, these Jabra's become almost as equally uncomfortable. I would have liked to see the Plantronics type of comfort - light on the head and ears; you can wear it for 8 hours without it causing any form of discomfort.

👉 One of the best microphones on the market for ZOOM and TEAMS calls; excellent built quality …but the long term comfort level has caused disappointment.

I often find myself in technical discussions for many hours a day, so a nice comfortable headset is exactly what the doctor ordered. These are very comfortable to wear for long periods of time, and have adequate cushioning. The ear cushions sit evenly on my ears, and do not feel like they are squeezing my head. They seal well around my ears, I did not have any complaints about noise leak while testing these with my wife beside me.
The actual microphone quality is no where near what you can expect from a standalone mic, but is also miles ahead of the integrated laptop microphone. The audio quality is quite good for a conference call headset, there would be no complaints listening to music on these between calls. These are first and foremost for conference calls, so being able to listen to music with them is a nice bonus.

The overall sound is great. Great bass, great treble. Stable sound at very high volumes and very clear even at very low volumes. So, all in all, the sound quality is great, and it should be at this price range.
IS IT COMFORTABLE TO WEAR?
Heck no. The angle of the headrest is designed at an odd angle. The sides extend very clumsily and tightly. So, the top of the headphone is constantly pressing on the top of your head. The headphones are on-ear, which means the two earpieces rest on your ears. So, after a few minutes the constant pressing of the sides starts hurting your ears. So, after a few minutes of use, you have the headphone pressing on the top of your scalp and on your ears. It gets uncomfortable real quick. I bet nobody can use this headphone for more than 15 minutes. I could not.
SHOULD YOU BUY IT?
The sound is great. The mic is great. But, it is super uncomfortable to keep using after 15 minutes. I would take this money and spend it on another more comfortable headset instead. Don't buy this particular model. Get something else.

I have worked remotely for more than 10 years , therefore video conferencing is like my morning coffee , meaning a must.
I have recently purchased this headset and unfortunately after a couple of hours using it i started to feel the pain over the ears.....
I bought an older version of it - evolve 40 which i knew worked fine. I tested and they worked fine , long hours, no pain. Then i decided to comeback to evolve2 40 . I tested for a day - and that was enough to decide to return it.
So uncomfortable , this should not give you any pain at all.
Very disappointed of new jabra products , jabra used to make quality product

But honestly the sound quality and ease of use earns this product an A+!

I returned these and ordered a cheaper set from another brand for $30 and my voice sounds like a professional podcaster. No background noise and a clean sounding voice.

My biggest issue: When using Evolve2 40 with Windows and UC soft codecs, audio does not remain reliable throughout the day. When jumping between multiple conferencing platforms and local computer audio (music and computer notifications), audio becomes modulated and distorted requiring disconnection and reconnection of the headset multiple times a day, even during a conference. UC buttons also stop working after a while, especially when hopping between conference platforms. Additionally, there appears to be interference with cellular devices indicating shielding is not sufficient as static and audio artifacts are introduced to the audio signal.
Other issues: The passive noise canceling feature primarily relies on the earpads squeezing your head to create a tight fit to your ears, keeping room noise out. Over time, this becomes uncomfortable. If you want proper isolation, go with in-ears or full muff headphones.
Overall, when it works it works beautifully and sounds great - but I'm displeased with the quality and reliability for the price paid.
