Combine this with a Broadcom Crystal HD mini-pcie card (the latest model), give it 4 gigs of ram, use a SSD hard drive for your 64-bit OS and BAMN!!! The uber low powered 1080p video playing, Hulu streaming fanless HTPC! YES, I can do full screen HULU at its highest setting. The key here is your drivers, plug-ins and settings. If streaming video is of most importance, set your desktop screen resolution to 720p. The integrated graphics processor and atom cannot handle streaming Hulu while trying to scale the 480p or 720p video up to 1080p or higher resolution screens. The Crystal HD card is VERY important. This ups the video graphics capability of this motherboard 10 fold and only cost $50. It also allows you to play full on 1080p video files and enables graphics acceleration on flash videos! (You will have to change the screen resolution to 1080p if you want to see it in its best resolution). Get the latest adobe flash and shockwave plug-ins. Use Google Chrome or Firefox browsers for streaming. Update all your drivers for the board and your BIOS.There you have it. I searched the web and only ran into people that figured smooth full screen high quality Hulu streaming is impossible on an older atom motherboard with integrated graphics. It took a lot of trial and error and buying and returning parts but I figured it out. Warning: a PCI graphics card does not help graphics quality. The PCI connection doesnt seem to have what it takes for full streaming. I had a two week headache trying to get it to work but to no avail. Maybe I should have used NVidia instead of ATI.Streaming quality is pretty much identical to digital cable with its occasional frame hiccups and all.FYI, Im using this on a 57" 1080p DLP screen through a VGA connector. Fact: VGA computer connectors can do 1080p as long as your TV VGA input can handle it. No need for that HDMI graphics card unless you really want HDMI audio in which case, your receiver better have a HDMI input.

I've bought this little piece of hardware for my home NAS/Web/Torrentdownloader box. Installation with MI-008 Tower Black P4 Chassis with 250W Itx Psu+sata Power Supply chassis was no trouble. I've used couple of spare 2gb kingstone modules, 2 tb seagate hdd and that's it: small, extremely low power consuming device, capable of automatic download of anything you want from the web, serving some http requests, hosting video/music libraries and other data for your home network.Package includes a disk with drivers, but i never used it. Installed Debian linux right away and all the hardware was recognized and running out of the box. Just had to recompiled the kernel to make use of all 4GB RAM (default i386 kernel won't see more than 3.5gb).Intel Atom D510 is fast enough for my purposes (i guess i could even use it as a simple workstation, with no games and 3d renderers in mind). And according to the tech sheets, it consums at most 13 watts. That's awsome. No active cooling means dead silence and the temperature (measured with internal sensors) stays at 12C when idle and 17C on load (yeah, ambient temperature in my room isn't above 7C either :) ).Caution: if you want to use this as a home theater PC, don't buy it. CPU integrated graphics can't process 720p or higher resolution video without noticable lag. Buy something with Nvidia ION instead.Howerer there is information over the web, that with hardware codec accelerator installed in mini pci-e slot this mobo can play HD videos quite well. I don't own such accelerator, so i can't confirm that. I stream videos with samba shares for watching them on my main PC and i'm happy with that :)

Ужасно

The reliability and and quality control of the D510MO is very poor. All the features of this machine, or any machine for that matter, are useless if the thing does not work.I have had THREE Intel D510MO ITX motherboards for use in a single system in my home. The first arrived with a bad BIOS checksum and would boot only sometimes, so I returned it. The second has worked for a while but the Ethernet connection crapped out twice. It mysteriously started working again just before I tried out the third. The third was DOA with a bad Ethernet connection. Fortunately the second started working again. Now the second has failed -- the Ethernet connection again -- so I am about to buy a fourth D510MO. WHY am I about to buy yet another D510MO given all the problems I have had with them? Because I have 4 gig of DDR2 memory I cannot use in the newer Mini-ITX motherboards and the memory is expensive.ALL of the D510MOs I've had in hand have also had trouble turning on. I can't just push the power button and expect the D510MO to start up. Fortunately I keep this system up 24 x 7 so this annoyance has been has been minimized.Another annoyance, a design flaw this time, is that the machine has no system bell connector. It would have cost them about $.0002 to put a couple of more pins on the board. How they left this out with all the other features the D510MO has is beyond me.I suggest you don't buy the DM510 unless you have to like I do. It's nearing the end of its lifespan anyway.Jeff B.MassachusettsPS: I used to diagnose and fix computers for a living, so what I said above is backed by considerable expertise.

I bought this board (Intel Desktop Board D510MO with integrated Intel Atom processor D510 - Motherboard - mini ITX - iNM10 - SATA-300 - Gigabit Ethernet - video - High Definition Audio (6-channel)) to use as a firewall for my home office network along with the case MI-008 Tower Black P4 Chassis with 250W Itx Psu+sata Power Supply. Before loading up the Untangle firewall software, I loaded Windows 7 Professional and was very pleased with the performance. I added 4GB of RAM, a 320 GB 2.5" SATA Laptop HD, and a SATA DVD (only when loading software, there really wasn't room for it in the case). The final result is an almost perfectly silent box, the consumes very little power, but has the horse power to allow for the more advanced features of Untangle and more users than I'll ever have on the network.Pros: Very compact, almost no heat generation, silent (except for the power supply fan and that doesn't count here), includes a PCI Express slot (I didn't use this feature)Cons: Only 1 NIC (an issue for a firewall, I had to use the 1 PCI slot to add a second NIC), no IDE interface so you need a newer SATA CD/DVD drive, no floppy interface (can use USB if needed)All in all, a very good deal for the money.

Bought this board to build a small size PC to use while on vacation in my travel trailer or truck. The good points..Extremely smallVery low power usage, I used a Mini ITX case that accepted full size 5 1/4 DVD burner and used a 250 gig 3.5 inch HD. System idle power draw was a mere 36W! If low power usage is what you are looking for this is the board to use.Low power usage also is nice for lack of heat, this thing runs COOL, even the processor heatsink doesn't get very hot. The power supply in the case I purchased actually gave off more heat than the processor. No processor fan is needed as long as the case has proper ventilation.Dual core with Hyper Threading is plenty fast for most any thing I threw at it (except for HD video but that is not the fault of the processor or board, see my comments in the CONs part of my review)XP works great with it and sees the two hyper threaded processors (it shows as 4 processors in the task manager. Can access 4 gig of RAM (I ony installed 2 gig for my setup)Has Legacy PS/2 keyboard, mouse, LPT, RS-232 ports.CONs..Since Intel was trying to keep the power usage down they did not use a very robust video card (it is built into the processor/chipset under the heatsink). This leads to the complaint that this board can not play HD video. It is not the fault of the processor and installing a decent video card into the PCI slot most likely will fix this issue. Playing HD video the Task Manager reported only 40% of the processor being used which means it can play the video but only if you have a better video card.PCI only expansion slot, while PCI is a good type of slot the problem is that it is being phased out. I would have expexted a PCI Express instead.Only 2 SATA ports and they are not Raid capable, this really should be 4 SATA ports at the least.LPT, RS-232 ports are on headers on the system board and Inel does not include the connectors to bring it out to the world. If you want these features you will need to wire your own. Inel should have included the connectors with the system board (other manufacturers either include as part of the package or sell them seperate).Ohter comments..Over all, it is a good buy for a small dual core PC, I would consider buying another.

As I was reading the other reviews I saw that someone had done what I planned for this motherboard, i.e. put together a small energy saving NAS device using FreeNas OS. Specifically to be used as a uPnP video streaming server. Since FreeNas does not need much memory I only installed 2 GB total. One thing that was of interest was that this board has a connection and space for a solid state drive (Intel Z-U130). Not sure Intel makes these any more but I found a substitute from [...] the ATP Z-U130 eUSB SSD. I purchased the smallest drive they had 1GB since FreeNas needs little more then 70 MB of space to store the OS and about 35KB for the configuration file.As set up I used a 1.5 TB HDD and placed the OS on the SSD. No CD or Flash drive is needed. All is working well and the total power is 27 watts in standby with the drive spun down and 34 watts with the drive spinning. You can't get much better then this. With the on-board Gigabit ethernet it comes out to be a big winner. The MO also has room for a mini PCI slot. A wireless card can be placed into this. Perhaps when I get tired of the NAS drive I will use it for a kick ass wireless router. One last thought, since as a NAS device no video is really needed the free PCI slot can be used for more SATA drives.

I bought this for netbooting Linux from an LTSP server. It does that perfectly, straight out of the box (after you put it in a case and wire it up of course). 10 minutes after opening the box, I was booting it up. It comes with lots of cables, which was nice, but I didn't need any of them. The instructions look like they were made for a kindergartner, all pictures, no details. All of the pinouts are almost idiot proof, it would be very difficult to install the USB front panel connector backwards or on the wrong terminal (I suppose you could if you tried really hard and bent some pins). If you are looking for a quiet, low power NAS, terminal PC, or possibly HTPC/DVR box to connect to your entertainment center, this one is a good option. The gigabit ethernet is also a big plus.If you want it as an HTPC/DVR, you may need a HDMI add on card, other than that it is great.

I bought this to run a 4-disk homebrew NAS in my closet and love it. I'm not using the onboard SATA except for the OS drive and a SATA RAID controller for the actual NAS drives. So far, it has been great. It has enough processing power to run Windows 7 with a media transcoder/server and a small game server. It does not generate much heat at all (at least compared to the hard drives) and works well in an unventilated closet. At one point, I had my other NAS in the closet it with it and the other NAS unit shut down due to overheating while this one stayed on the whole time. I have since relocated the other NAS and the closet is MUCH cooler (80F in a 72F house). The fanless design works out quite well with a single 120mm fan cooling the entire system. It's a great buy for the price and have recommended it to several techie friends.

I have had two Intel iAtom mITX mother boards before this.(Both are still running fine on someone elses desk)This is the best yet and I am sure there are even better ones to come. This one is dual core, has gigabit LAN, and no fan at all is required. It can use 4GB (2x2GB) of DDR2-800 RAM so it will work well with Windows 7.I am using it with XP Pro and it does everything I need it to do.It is stable and fast enough for drafting, word processing, and photo editing.I wouldn't expect it to be used for editing video except occasionally. The onboard video looks good to me.I do wish it had HDMI and/or a DVI connector which it lacks. It has a flash interface, 4 rear, abd 2 front USB ports which is handy. For hardware hackers and folks with legacy hardware there are still headers to attach parallel and serial connectors. That's getting rarer these days. This is a great little board if you are not a mega-gamer or do a lot of video editing. It is stable, reliable and relatively inexpensive, and it sips power compared to most rigs.I have it in an Apex M008 mITX case, with a 320GB WD 3.5" HD, 4GB of OCZ Gold DDR2-800, and a Samsung DVD writer. The 4GB is not necessary if you are running XP or even Windows 7 for most folks.2GB is plenty and would use less power. For XP 1GB might be adequate.I love it!

Perfect for when a full-power server is overkill, but an embedded option is just too tight. The on-die video controller is well-suited to "non-gaming" graphics.4G max memory means you can run without any swap space and till have some elbow room.

I used this board with FreeNAS as storage for my various photos and audio files. It works great and FreeNAS allows you to spin the disks down when not in use. Overall I can keep a server online with 3TB of space for less than 20watts of standby power. Since I only use it about and hour each day it is a very green way to go. I only wish Intel thought to add a couple of additional SATA ports so this would be capable of supporting a better RAID type of back up. I also experimented with this board as a simple workstation (again low power) and for internet browsing and emai, it's more than enough. It's not a game machine or an HD movie watcher, but dragging down news videos off CNN and non-HD on YouTube it's just great. It has a spot for an onboard WIFI card if you want to go wireless.

Not all the peripherals on board would get the proper driver with the disk that it came in when installed under WinXP x32, and then when installed under WinXP x64, the driver says platform not supported. Intel sure has a loser with this one, I returned this board promptly for a refund.Cons: poor installation, no keyboard wake-up ACPI, video support so-so, speed is slow but it's an Atom processor, can't get all the drivers to install properly under both WinXP platform.

This was the second mini-ITX board I've purchased and I must say that it's wonderful. I decided to go the Ubuntu route (USB Boot) and everything worked right out of the box. No setup was required for the audio, video or ethernet pieces. The board is very quiet, but that's probably because it doesn't have a fan built-in. Remember that when purchasing a board like this you have to purchase RAM and a power supply separately. Ah, and don't forget the SATA drive. I would absolutely recommend it for anyone who wants to get something setup and up and running quickly.I'm mainly using it for simple productivity and internet surfing. What I'm Using:- Ubuntu 9.10 (Netbook Remix)- 1x DDR2-800mhz Kingston RAM- 1x PicoPSU micro power supply (90W)- 1x Seagate 80GB notebook SATA drive

Great little motherboard. I put it in a Apex case with 1tb hd, 4gb ram, and dvd/cdrom drive. I'm running Centos 5.4 64-bit and plan to use it as my server in my home office. It's very low power and totally silent. The only negative I have is that it would not boot from a cd-rom attached to a usb port. I had to buy a SATA cd-rom and boot Centos from that.
