Decent enough for the price
This tablet is case of you get what you pay for. It's decent enough for the price just don't expect anything ground breaking. I bought it as it was relatively cheap but had half decent specs. As it was bought so the kids could watch movies, YouTube and play a few simple games I would say it does the job. Pros it's fast enough for what iv thrown at it and it appears to be well built. The cons would be the screen is pretty low Res but passable, and the charging is slow. But this could be because I'm used to using high end phones with great screens and rapid charging. Bottom line the kids like it so I'm happy.

Fast charging quality tablet.
I have the M5 pro and got 2 of the M5 lite for each of my grandkids, fantastic spec for an apparently mid range tablet and such a good price.
Good points,
Kirin 710 octa-core processor, stereo speakers , Android 9 Pie, 13-megapixel camera on the back, 8-megapixel camera on the front, full HD resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, with a good battery life.
Bad Points,
The 2019 version has the older USB type connector, it also does not support Huawei Quick charging like my M5 Pro.
So all in all a good all round tablet, will play most games due to its decent spec with quite a good solid build quality.
By far the best value for under £200.
Good points,

It should have been so good.
The tablet is fast. Although Huawei have put its own app store in place it is missing some key apps. Some app (Swann cctv) will not work unless google services are installed, despite having the apk, it just won't execute. Every thing online is pointing towards the pro and not the matepad. Even tho they share part of the name they are totally different tablets. We get the 'english" version of the tablet which has less Ram an any other "None English ' version. It is fast it is nice to use. The store restrictions are not to be taken lightly. If your transferring over from old Samsung tablet a lot (most) of the app wont be available without google services. Unfortunately no body tells you which apps require google services until you try to install. Shame, the closest tablet with simular performance is £150 more.

Great tablet for the money
I think that this is a very good value tablet (3Gb/32Gb version). It looks great - very thin outside bezel and a thin body. The screen is superb. Visual performance is pretty snappy. Audio is quite loud but doesn't have much quality - perfectly good for normal speech but I cast to a Bluetooth speaker for music/film. Battery life is reasonable (charging is slow). You can optionally connect it to a mobile network and add more memory. I've got over 40 apps installed and still have over 1 Gb of RAM spare. For a budget tablet I think it's outstanding.

Not bad for the price ..........................
I had an ipad for years and decided it was time to replace it but didn't want another so opted for this. Overall it's not a bad tablet - the picture is clear, sound not too bad and battery life is ok. However the 'touch' screen doesn't seem to be very sensitive especially around the 'edges' - say 3/4 inch from the edge all round, and also other parts of the screen - which is disappointing as this was one of the reasons I needed to replace the ipad - after years of regular use it was beginning to 'wear out'. So whilst it does the job because I don't use it for more than internet browsing/online shopping and social media - it is frustrating to have to try several times to select an option, close a page etc.

Surpasses other top name brands hands down
I needed to replace my Samsung Tab and spent a lot of time researching the different options available before choosing this product. I have been using it now for a couple of months and can honestly say I wouldn't go back to Samsung. The quality, functionality, design and looks are top notch. The only feature that could be improved on is the sound quality which is slightly tinny in my opinion but I always connect it to BT speakers, so not a big issue. This is the first Huawei product I've owned and it certainly won't be the last. Would highly recommend.

Vibrant colours, super fast processor and a great quality feel.
I purchased this tablet as my old ipad had stopped working. I was undecided at first and was tempted to get another ipad, but the spec of this tablet seemed to be far superior and certainly for the price too.
It is a wonderful piece of technology and would highly recommend it. It feels nice in your hands, heavy enough to feel like its good quality, but light enough to not make your arms ache. The colours are bright and vibrant and it is lightning fast to load up apps and Web pages. The cameras are very good and as I have been skype/zooming my family and friends during lock down, it has been a welcome bit of tech that has helped get me through. Was really easy to set up and simple to use.

This can no longer access SD card
Do not buy this of you need access to SD card. Huawei have blocked access to SD card for apps so i am restricted to 16gb. I thought it was just me but then looked at some forums and Huawei moderators have confirmed to access to SD card. Absolutely pointless. Netflix and Spotify and apps shared in 16gb so very little room to download content

Wow what speed
Exceedingly surprised about this tablet. In comparison with other people who have not very pleased I think this tablet, so far, has out stretched all the other companies. It has so such speed, clarity of picture, and really easy to use.
I have used other devices, both apple, Amazon fire & all of which are but shadows compared. Lots of people I have read that they cant get the SD card to install apps on. Well all I can say is check around on the net, it really is very easy if you pull the screen down for the top and look for SD Card, usually when new already formatted, then just select to install apps on sd card. No problem. I now have an extra 256GB. Excellent job Huawei And the same goes for mirroring works fine, but have a little bit a patience... I finds it eventually.

Good solid 64bit OS 8" tablet
Unlike many cheaper small tablets this runs a 64bit version of Android, a good clean and reasonably sturdy tablet. Touch screen is responsive although dragging items (icons) across pages can be tricky.
Memory is enough especially adding a 128gb micro sd helps with storage.

Great size and display
I bought this to use ONLY as a monitor to fly my Mavic Mini drone, so that's what this review is based on. The screen size is much better than using a normal fone. The only niggly thing is they set the On/Off button a quarter of the way along the longest side. That means when it is in the holder I use attached to my controller, the tablet has to be offset otherwise the holder clamps press the On/Off button. It would have been better to have it right in the corner. But, if you're using it as a normal tablet, it's fabulous.

What's not to like?
Loving this. While on standby the battery stays pretty much where you left it. And in use it easily lasts over a day even with moderate/high use. The processor is very nippy too.
I bought the stylus (m-pen lite) separately (£32) which if you like drawing is highly recommended. Make sure you get the official pen. I initially bought a cheaper alternative capacitive pen which didn't work at all.
The weight too is comfortable, not too heavy.
All the noise about not installing apps into the sd card in my opinion is just the fuffle of specification spotters. Unless you intend to run a billion games you'll be fine with 32Gb for apps.
I've also seen an OTA software update in March 2020 so this is still being actively supported.

Huawei MediaPad M5 Lite 10-Inch Tablet
I bought this tablet to replace a broken Google Nexus 7" and decided to take it up a notch in size to this Huawei 10" model. I am very pleased I did as the screen is superb. The sound quality is excellent through the 4 speaker system. The fast charging is great and I can get a full charge in a couple of hours and I am getting over 10 hours use before needing to recharge. There is a bunch of Huawei bloatware BUT you can remove it unlike other tablets out there.
The only complaint I have is the On/Off button and the Volume control. As seen by the location of the logo, the tablet is designed to be used in landscape mode However not all apps want to run in landscape and when they run in portarit it puts the controls on the lower edge just where you would hold the tablet. I have lost count of the number of times that I have switched it off. Some apps will only run in the one portrait mode orientation, so you cant flip the portrait position 180 degress. It get very irritating.
The location of the controls is an irritating issue but the tablet is great but I WILL ADAPT haha.
So I give 4/5

Great value for money.
Needed a new tablet as my Sony Xperia Z was extremely slow and unresponsive at times. I'm a HGV driver and use Copilot truck for my navigation and the usual Netflix, YouTube, iPlayer etc
This has an excellent screen and speakers and is very quick, haven't noticed any lag as of yet. This compliments my Mate 10 pro nicely. Hopefully will last as long as my Sony Tablet did. It was a tough decision to go with this as my wife has a Samsung Tab A and that is good but I wanted the extra ram and memory,not bad for £10 more.

Excellent value for the price, no wonder trump wants to ban hauwei, they have the technology, faster, better than the over expensive and over hiped. Ipad or galaxy tab.. Well done hauwei...
The only gripe I have is the tiny internal memory, so buying a memory card is a must, and don't use play store for your apps as you cannot transfer to the memory card.

Why pay more?
I bought this tablet to replace my galaxy tab which gave up the ghost. Not having the money to spend on another expensive tablet I went for this one and I tell you what, for a cheaper tablet it performs just as well if not better than my galaxy did. I can have multiple tabs open and it doesn't slow down, crash or anything.
Bluetooth is very good and connects to my printer straight away making it easy for me to print a quick document without me having to get my laptop out.
The fingerprint sensor is a great addition to the tablet but because it is also a home button and very sensitive, it can be very easy to accidentally knock it which I have done multiple times.
Battery life varies depending on what you're doing, if you're just browsing the Internet it can easily last at least 2 days but if you're a heavy video watcher you will just get a few hours. As I only use it for browsing the Internet and social media is perfect for me.
It does also have Google assistant where you're supposed to be able to activate using just your voice. It worked on the first day but it stopped working after that, I did find I don't miss it though as I have it on my phone anyway.

Okay, but not brilliant.
Nice tablet and performance is “Okay”. Screen quality is very good, but sound is terrible, lack any real volume. You will definitely need to use headphones or earbuds. What I really dislike is the amount of bloatware, some of which can be deleted, but some can’t. I actually bought this for my 93 year old father-in-law, who is reasonably tech savvy for his age, to view his Ring doorbell, email and browser, but if will defiantly need a case as the surface of the tablet is incredibly slippery.

Great for Lightroom
When I go out for a photo shoot, I usually transfer my photos to my phone and edit them in Lightroom. I wanted something with better processing power, but also good portability. I initially looked at the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4, which, as far as I can tell, is the most popular editing tablet on the market at the moment.
The M5 Lite has more or less the same specs, but at half the price, so I decided to go for it. The battery life is pretty good, and it charges quite quickly- USB type C connection. The display is clear and crisp, and I've had no problem using it when I'm outside in bright conditions. The sound quality is excellent and the response time on the display is great too- I've had no issues with freezing or crashes. As indicated by the name, the tablet is ideally suited for multimedia- games, YouTube and Netflix all work just fine.

Actually great product! Metal case at the back. Screen very sharp and great contrast. You can watch from any angle as it's got great screen quality. Battery lasts very long and apps are working quick and smoothly. As it's older Huawei model this one is not banned by Google, so you have full access to Google store and all other benefits. The only downside I found is that would not play h.265 HEVC 10bit 1080p (other hevc below 1080p would work), but apparently it's common within tablets unless you pay a fortune for them.

Very limited space for downloaded apps
Initial thoughts were that this was a great tablet for our 8 year old. However, it soon became apparent that it wasn't going to do what she needed it to do. After installing a couple of games (just kids things so nothing major), the memory was full. We purchased a memory card but you can't save games to the memory card. Luckily amazon accepted a return and we are swapping for a better spec. Hoping that will be a better fit.
EDIT
We swapped from the 2GB + 16GB (as reviewed above) to the 2GB + 32GB. This gave us more space to save games but the processor couldn't handle a game my daughter played. It froze on calls and whilst she was playing her game which led to tears. I'm not impressed so far.

Can't fault this
I needed a decent quality tablet for work and e-reading and this ticks all of the boxes.
Screen is good quality and responsive and the processor is more than fast enough.
The tablet is very well made and feels very sturdy; camera quality is fine for what I need and if I need more I use my phone.
An ideal tablet at a very attractive price - my partner has an iPad which I bought her - that is slightly quicker and the screen is slightly better quality but no more responsive; it should be it was three times the price of this one.
I would certainly buy again and can recommend

Half good half bad
Good tab overall especially for not demanding users. For me software is way too slow,old update 8.0 and apparently stopped completely,the camera can't be used at all
Screen nice ,speakers are the reason I keep it basically cos are very loud you can use it at home easily.fast unlocking s.
Basically i keep it cos it looks nice/speakers /in headphones sound stunning/ and i don't use it much/ and faboulos case I have found on amazon

No good for game playing
Love the tablet except I struggle to get anything to store to the memory disc. I bought it primarily to play logic style games and learn languages with and even though the default storage is the memory card, it doesn't go there. I followed some suggestions to make it do this with games but with no success. It's fine for anything that doesn't require memory otherwise don't waste your money.
But picture, ease of use all very good. Tablet memory is very small.

Great easy to use tablet.
Good tablet for me, very quick to start up but mainly use for searching and shopping. Display has an eye comfort option too. I can pick this up and use with a smart speaker but haven't used with my TV as that is quite old and my TV box too. Watched TV and Netflix fine through the various apps instead. For the money I would recommend it. Battery lasts for a few days depending on how intense your usage is, takes a while to charge from very low power.
