Looks sturdy and the optics are good. But:
Would not load my email account
Initially would not synchronise with my existing Huawei calendar or contacts. Then it did and deleted them from my existing phone
Has spent the last two hours automatically cycling through email and calendar and a weather account. The touch screen is inoperable.
I have taken it off line, but am still unable to turn it off.
I will get a refund but have lost 6 hours trying to sort out an awful product and now have to reconstruct my calendar.

I'm very happy I tried Huawei again instead of getting an ipad for myself. I much prefer this one!

While the screen is bright and crisp (full HD), the back lighting is a little uneven, but not a deal breaker for me, as you don't really notice it in normal use.
The 8" 16:10 screen is perfect for reading and watching videos. The tablet just fits in my jeans rear pocket or large coat pocket, so perfect for commuting without having to fumble in my rucksack.
Good sound from the stereo speakers, but I mostly use it with headphones.
This is better than the equivalent Samsung tablet.

Pros:
* Cheap (comparatively)
* Well-built
* Excellent for media usage
* Excellent for reading and annotating documents
Cons:
* Sometimes it feels laggy for an instant
* Cannot handle modern games (PUBG mobile is out of the question)
* The aspect ratio is not great for some PDF files
* The screen is not great for using the pen, making writing on it kind of a pain
Overall a good product, but if you plan on doing anything complicated with it, or using it as a substitute for a laptop, go for the more expensive ones.

The picture quality is amazing, the sound really good...at the end of the day this tablet was not cheap, so it clearly pays to spend a little extra to get decent quality....having said that, my hubby had an iPad that wasn't as good as this is, and they cost way more!!
I very nearly got a different model completely to this, a cheaper one....but I am so glad that I just went for this.
I've so far not managed to find anything that I don't like about it....but, I do like to give things a bit longer usually.
I've literally had like 15 pages open at once and it still works like a dream!
I've also been absolutely hammering it since I got it and the battery really lives upto it's reputation.
I'm also very glad that I went for an android tablet, as opposed to a windows one....it's definitely faster! And I have access to way more apps.
I may update late if I come across something that doesn't thrill me, but so far, I love this thing!!

But unfortunately quite a few applications that quite happily installed on any of my other devices whether running old or brand new versions of Android did not want to know when it came to this device, every one said "The software is not compatible with your device". Googled it and tried all the various methods described there in to try and solve this one but to no avail.
So back it goes.
Would I buy one of these, NO!!

This was a huge disappointment in this respect but as a tablet it's fine, it has 7.0 and not 8.1 OS but maybe android OS will be upgraded bu Huwaei, I don't know.
Some electronics manufacturers are quicker than others to update their OS, we'll see about this one, it's early days.
As I've had it a week, I'll post back as soon as an update comes along.
Regarding the casting (or mirror share) as it's called on their system, it found my 8 month old Samsung LED TV quickly enough, and pairing was seamless, only the picture lagged, was choppy and no sound came out.
I then tried it on my aging Panasonic plasma, no joy at all there, and also on my firestick, that too found it but wouldn't cast at all.
I'm yet to try it on the intended recipient's Sony Bravia (Christmas present) and I'll check in the next few days and update this review.
Considering how connected electronics are nowadays, it's a shame.
Of course, it's possible that because it's an entry level tablet, it doesn't have great hardware to cast and is limited to chromecast products, I don't know. I don't have a chromecast unit and don't intend to buy one, so if anyone has successfully paired it, please advise.
Update: Today I tried it out on the recipient's Sony LED smart TV, despite being a few years old, it worked faultlessly!
So mirroring to the Sony was the only place where it worked.
I've added another star, I don't have to buy a chromecast, everyone's happy.

The battery does last longer and it charges quickly. The screen is good and the processor is fast (early days). It is good for media consumption but not as a working tablet.
For viewing films, it is a struggle on a small screen but bearable. Forget immersive viewing. Sound quality is good with right headphones.
Note though. Although memory is expandable you can't move apps over to sd card like I was able to with the lenovo or with Samsung models. I haven't downloaded films yet for forthcoming trip so don't know if I will have enough memory despite sd card. I won't be downloading say 100 apps for this tablet.
Touch screen was fine though I had some problems on the website this week with enlarging the screen. Maybe it's just the website. If you switch a Web page to full mode the screen is small.
I hope it gets me through the year at least.

When using the keyboard, it covers the whole screen, making it impossible to see what you have just typed, so not conducive to any kind of messaging service.
The sound and screen are good, so its okay for watching films or YouTube. But then again, I already have a TV that does that.
Frankly, Amazon should be embarrassed to be selling this.
If considering purchase, my advice would be don't do it. Save up for a bit longer and buy a Samsung or something similar.

Very thin, 3 gig ram and 32gig storage is very impressive for a tablet this much. Display is very nice and it is all responsive, comes with some games on it which I removed and a few other things I disabled, plays roblox which is all it was bought for so that's very fluid and responsive.
Day to tasks like you tube, surfing and Netflix it is not a problem.
All in all if you want to play games on low or medium it will be perfect, and some will play on high with no issues.
Not really tested the battery yet but i know its not a big as some other tablets but there a bit pricier.

Please note....the tablet WILL update as soon as it's connected to the internet...after the update it's a fantastic bit of kit...worth every single penny.

Unfortunately it's let down by its poor specs. 2g of RAM really isn't enough to keep things running smoothly, especially if you've more than a couple of apps open, and it feels slow and clunky in operation.
The android OS doesn't appear to have been modified to take advantage of the increased screen real estate, so in operation it just feels like a large, slow mobile phone without being able to make calls/SMS. The size is less of an advantage in these days of 6"+ phone screens but watching Netflix is certainly better on the larger surface.
If you have a small phone and no laptop I'd say it'd be worth more to you than the three stars I've given it. If, though, you have a decent sized phone for casual browsing/surfing/emails etc. and a laptop (which will also run Microsoft office and G-Suite much better) then this product is probably an answer to a question you're not asking.

The screen is a good size for web browsing and reading. Youtube works fine and it plays minecraft pretty well but otherwise performance is nothing special.
The battery life is ok but not even close to the 9hours in the amazon listing and it is stuck at Android v7 meaning any security issues haven't been patched.
Its not bad value for money but I wouldn't expect too much.
Disappointingly, after a couple of weeks use, it took a knock to the top right corner and the glass screen shattered. It wasn't anything too hard and I have seen other devices take harder knocks without even a scratch.
I watched some repair videos on youtube and noticed that a lot of them had the exact same damage in the same place, so I am guessing that this is a weak spot.

Update. Having bought an SD card I have learnt that you cannot transfer apps to the SD card. Most of memory is taken up with Huawei apps...... This is a rather rubbish product.

Delivery, even with COVID doing the rounds, was really quick, arriving about three days after I placed my order. Top marks Amazon!

My only gripe with it is the fingerprint key on the side of the screen. Once the tablet is unlocked, this touch key becomes a multi-touch key, operating as a home button, back button and app switcher. As it's a touch button, one is constantly catching it and returning to the home screen. It is incredibly frustrating and there seem to be no way of disabling it. I've actually just put a piece of sticky tape over it. That works, but it's not exactly aesthetically pleasing!
That is really the only bad comment I can make. The battery life is superb. The storage is perfectly fine at 64GB. The speed is good enough (I'm not going to say fast as no Android tablet is ever as fast as an iPad).
Recommended (but buy some sticky tape too).

I got this on offer primarily for watching YouTube and Netflix about the house, flicking through social media and a few lighter games. Overall I've been very happy with it. Also wanted something comparable power wise to my phone, a Nokia 7.1
Pros:
+ Excellent speakers, I love the speakers on it. Dual stereo on top and bottom, so even if you block one side the other works fine.
+ Nice screen, personally a fan of the 16:10 ratio. - No real issues with viewing angles, colourful.
+ Good battery life, easily go two days if I'm not doing something battery sapping on it.
+Headphone jack & expandable storage. Both things every device should have.
+ Performance is good (aside from Fruit Ninja for some reason which was pretty much unplayable)
+ Having stylus support is neat, and with a pretty low barrier for entry, the pen retails for around £30 I think, but that's a different review.
Cons:
-The rear facing camera is pretty awful and doesn't have a flash, I have managed to get better pics in some cases from an HTC Wildfire S, a value phone from 2011. The front one does a better job, same Res as the back, but I see the uses for that being more video calls and it'll do that no problemo.
-Build quality, it does feel a little bit weak, if you give the two sides a gentle twist it creaks a little. Not an issue if you're careful with it, and I put mine in a case.
-Screen brightness, it isn't super duper bright, at least for outside in direct sun. No issues indoors

But this tablet is somewhat underwhelming for its price (and that price was already well below the
original RRP). I have a €90 no-nonsense Lenovo tablet that performs just as well in almost all
scenarios. This one has a better build and looks a tad more classy, but performance is so-so.
Sound is great, yes, but not very loud. I used it side by side with my Mate 10 Pro phone, and the phone was
just as loud. Battery life was extremely disappointing. In fact: again - my Huawei Mate 10 Pro PHONE
outperformed this tablet which is just pathetic given that the phone had Wifi and GSM enabled while the tablet
was in offline mode. Pffft. And lastly: I am generally quite okay with Huawei's EMUI 'skin', but they really could make a better effort to adapt the UI to tablet size. Buy a used iPad Mini instead.

The item has a great quality screen. Is quick in menu and installing plus running apps.
You have a 32GB storage built in should be enough but after the operating system has been installed it leave you with about 25+/-GB free for your apps etc. I installed a 64GB microsd card so I could load things onto it. The speakers on the bottom are good for a tablet and if they sound a bit muffled tune the tablet round so speakers are at the top it sounds better. Charging time is ok for a tablet this big. I would have liked a usb "c" socket and plug that way it didn't matter which way round you plugged the power adapter into the tablet. But the tablet comes with mini usb socket and power adapter so you have to make sure you put the power adapter into the tablet socket the right way. Maybe the next version of tablet will have usb "c".
The tablet came with android 8.0 which is good to say we are on Android 9.1 going onto 10 soon, so the tablet isn't to far behind. The tablet has a metal back with a little bit of plastic at the top for the antennae the metal back can be cold so I put the tablet into a fold case and placed a screen protector on the front of the tablet this should help it last a few years. The tablet has an earphone socket but no earphones come with the tablet, The tablet on the right side has volume up and down then next to that a power button. On the left side is the sdcard slot, what you get in the box is a power adapter, the tablet, a usb cable for charging with power adapter enclosed and a pin for popping out the sdcard holder on the side so you can insert the memory card. Not forgetting a warranty document and user guide.
Huawei do good warranty lengths in UK on all their products. The tablet comes with all the Google bits like Gmail etc plus Facebook etc and Google playstore. So at your convenience you can uninstall all you don't want ie; Facebook. The tablet has a front facing camera and a back camera I usually put a small amount of insulation. Tape over the front camera for privacy. I can't see the point of a front facing camera on a tablet. As for security Huawei use on their system a diagnostic software and antivirus called avast it runs in the background but if you want to add on of your own you can. So on the whole would I recommend this tablet yes it's good specs for the price and well built But I would recommend a case and screen protector for it. It doesn't come with a pen and the tablet doesn't have the facility for a pen to be used however you can use one of the rubber ended pens you use on phone or tablets or dobbers as I call them.
