I don't like large watches so the size of this is great.
I wear it all day and all night to track sleep and it is very comfortable.
I track my activity which is accurate. The only issue I have is the watch doesn't not track outdoor cycling. The app does but I don't always want to have my mobile active whilst riding.
It shows messages and phone contacts. You can't answer calls or reply to messages on the watch but that's no loss.
Absolutely delighted with it.
The strap design is concave with the edges touching the skin first rather than the whole strap surface at the same time.
I though the moaners about marks were idiots but it actually marked me to the point of minor blisters.
Solution...order a strap that's metal or canvas to give even friction.
7/10 for strap issue and 9/10 for features and app at the price.
Anyway things I like
1) The interface and the App work brilliantly, a little slow uploading from the watch every now and again but great all the same.
2) Very light weight and bright even in the sunshine.
3) The ability to download new faces/skin onto the app. The one I like the most is the Pride one.
4) The step count, heart rate monitor, Oxygen levels all seem pretty accurate.
5) Battery life is pretty good, even with having constant monitoring on.
Things I don't like
1) The step count can be a little too sensitive. I have been stood at the sink washing up, or at the piano playing and it has added the step count. On one long piano session (this is not a euphemism) I had clocked up nearly 1000 extra steps.
2) Although you can download new skins/faces you can't design your own, or at least haven't found a function to allow it. Even if all it was was to put a photo in the background.
For the price this was easily better than my last smart watch, and does make me think twice about getting the new Apple Watch when it comes out soonish. But I am an Apple whore and will continue to be.
Anyway have a good day, and thanks for reading.
It literally looks like a slightly narrower version of the Apple Watch! Screen display is of excellent quality. It definitely looks more expensive than it is and works/operates way more expensive than it is!
You have to download the HUAWEI fitness app where you can keep track of all the data you have generated and you can go back and view what your heart rate, steps, stress levels, sleep quality, oxygen levels were throughout the day and it gives you an insight on how you can increase the quality of your life and health just by seeing your stats.
Oh and battery life is amazing even though I have heart rate, oxygen and stress test on, recording constantly!
Charging is very different to earlier models. Earlier models you had to ‘clip’ onto the charger but this one is magnetic and magnetically attaches to the charge ports. There’s no way you can get it the wrong way round as the magnet won’t connect.
However, you only get the charging cable and no plug but I have an extension tower with Loads of USB ports so it hasn’t been a problem for me.
After using this watch for over a month now, before submitting this review, I would definitely and absolutely recommend this watch to anyone considering buying it. I’m really happy with it and have had absolutely no problems. Go for it!
Update: Months on from purchase - no problems at all. It is still very much part of my daily life and battery life is excellent.
I have an Apple iPhone and downloading the HUAWEI app from the APP Store and using it was easy with no problems at all. When you open the app, flick down to update. If you haven’t open the HUAWEI Health app for a while, you need to wait until everything is downloaded thus the app updated with your data. If you access the app every day, you won’t wait long for it to update the data accumulated from your watch.
I have read people having problems on Android, Google App Store. I can’t comment. However I have had absolutely no problems on my apple iPhone nor have I had any problems with my watch, months and months down the line. I’m still really happy with my watch. I would highly recommend buying it!
The battery life is the best thing about this watch. The app is dreadful, not intuitive or user friendly in any way. The watch seems to pick and choose what information to synchronise with the app as it is recording my steps up to date, my oxygen levels stopped a week ago and my sleep recording stopped showing up about 2 weeks ago. This is despite doing many manual syncs. This watch DOES NOT ever record all day calories. It also NEVER auto starts recording an activity so you have to remember to start manually every time you do any activity. Even when you do so, it will often give very inaccurate calorie information.
Very frustrating, very disappointed. Wish I'd saved for a better watch. I've asked Santa for a Garmin Venu instead.
Me and my family really would recommend this product.
Functionality is what you'd expect, between heart rate monitoring and workout monitoring. Along with many other things. Testing them all out, I personally deem them to be pretty accurate. They give me almost identical results to other gear that does similar things.
As an actual smart watch, you can use it to read texts, set notifications, alarms, timers, read the time and a few other nice options. It's one of my main recommendations when picking these.
I had a Mi Band 6 before this but this definitely is worth the little bit more money. It's only a little extra so get it while you can. You can buy all sorts of straps for it to wear it as any colour too. 5/5 for me as far as this gadget is concerned.
The app that goes with this watch also monitors your sleep patterns, daily exercise, stress levels, and oxygen levels.
Pluses: comfortable to wear and a nice variety of watch faces to suit needs.
Negatives: In the few hours I’ve been walking around wearing this watch, it’s only recorded 34 steps. This then means I have to question the accuracy of all the other functions. As I bought this with the intention of tracking steps as part of my training, this is pretty disappointing. Will update after more usage.
