This is a great little printer, except you will have a hard time getting it to work on Windows 7. HP no longer makes drivers for this version of Windows. Here is how I got mine to work:Make sure the printer is ON and plugged into USB port.1. From devices and printers: Add new printer | Local printer.2. From ports screen: Use existing port | pick DOT4_001.3. From available printers pick brand HP (not Hewlett Packard if both on list).4. Model: pick HP LaserJet 3055 PCL 5 (pick Microsoft if more than one choice).5. Optional: replace current driver (if it asks). Then change name, decide if you want to share on network and it will work.... for a while... until you get blank pages that say:"Unsupported Personality: PCL" in the upper left hand of the page, each time you try to print. As far as I know, there is no fix for this, but there is an easy workaround. The failure comes from the printer's buffer being full and thrown into an error (wrong model).Pay attention:Because it is the printer's buffer, all you have to do is print in smaller batches, and turn the printer off and back on between jobs to clear the error.Mine gets away with about 90-120 pages of text at a time.So a 420 page job will be split into 4 batches. It restarts in about 5 seconds, so I don't see it as an issue, I got used to it.Again, if it weren't for this little annoyance caused by HPs unwillingness to support it, I'd give it a 5 star; excellent printer.

I bought this printer more than seven years ago and have never had a serious problem with it. It is perfect for moderate use in the home. However, HP made the regrettable decision not to support this printer with Windows 7 drivers. I have been using an imperfect workaround. When I am ready to buy a new printer, I will try to find a manufacturer that continues to support its products.

Nestled within the humble shanty next to the electronic brain resides a HP LaserJet 1012, the pride of my printer fleet.Well, it's the only printer I currently own so is it a "fleet"?After several years of ink jet-type printers and seldom needing color printing and tiring of the so-so text printing ability and especially tired of the high-cost of those dern' ink cartridges I made the decision a few years ago to buy a non-ink jet printer.Digging through a multitude of reviews a few years back... what was it? Four or five years ago? I decided upon one of the lower priced name-brand offerings, the 1012.Golly shucks gee willikers. Installation was a snap with Win98 and later Win98 SE and then XP when I switched over to that O/S. No experience with Vista as some of the gripers about the 1012 have mentioned but perhaps those human units should have done their research before expecting Vista be compatible with everything under the sun.I was warned upon purchase that the toner cartridge pre-installed typically was not as full as a "new" cartridge bought when a replacement was needed.I am not a "heavy" printer user but I do print what I believe is a fair amount of output. I only replaced the original toner cartridge a couple weeks ago after many thousands of printed pages. Thus, I am thrilled to my inner-most core of my persona and to the very marrow of my bones for the longevity of that toner cartridge. To the point of being ecstatic especially when compared to the operating costs of those ink-jet critters. The 1012's output has always been clear, sharp, and easily readable and never left me unsatisfied.I also was sated by being able to quickly and easily use a toner-saving mode for output that did not have to be of the highest quality yet still clear, crisp and quite readable; such as communications with my cheap kinfolk and various friends and cohorts incarcerated at various prisons at the federal and state levels.I took advantage of the ability to manually insert a single sheet of paper to be printed when I wanted to use a paper-type not present in the storage tray. That one-piece insertion is also used to print on both sides of one paper. There are likely other features I never used thus can not comment upon but I seldom bother to read manuals and the 1012 has done all that I want or need a printer to achieve.Oh, for the horde of impatient rush rush rush bunch in the crowd though my experience with laser-type printers (is there actually a laser in there or is that a LIE!!!!???) is limited I have never felt the 1012 was slow. Nay!!!!! I have never felt my life was compromised in the least in regards to the time it took the 1012 to digest then regurgitate that digital data that led to the printed page rolling out of the 1012's innards.Of the many purchases I have made in the past few years this little work-horse HP LaserJet 1012 rates among the best purchasing decisions I have made.If no longer made try to find a new one in stock somewhere and grab it.If only used is available, well, any purchase of a used item entails some risk but considering how well my little marvel has held up I would be willing to risk a used printer purchase of the 1012.Happy printing, herd.

This is a solid little printer that is extremely reliable and uncomplicated, taking a minimum of desktop space. As I have used HP Laserjets since 1990,I know whereof I speak. I have owned the HP 1012 for five years now and hope to get another five out of it as a primary and eventually a secondary printer. There was a review where it stated the HP 1012 was no longer compatible with Windows 7 and HP would not issue a driver for it as it was a Category 6 machine, meaning HP discontinued all support to include revised printer drivers. While an unfortunate decision from HP, there are several workarounds on the Internet that use printer drivers from other HP machines to facilitate use on Windows 7. I was able to make the change within minutes and my HP 1012 fired up immediately, no changes in printing. This printer seems to use the same printer driver as the HP 3055 and the fix is readily available via Google.I would also suggest HP revisit its decision to classify the HP 1012 Category 6 in the interests of maintaining good customer relations. Planned obsolescence is never a good thing and HP should avoid it. The HP 1012 is a solid little machine and hopefully successor models do not fall victim to the "thrifting" that plagues many manufacturers.

SuperMediaStore has cartridges under $20 if you buy 5 at a time AND they get 200 more copies than the HP cartridges (2200 yield vs 2000). I am over 70,000 copies on both of my 1012s and it has been an unbelievable workhorse. My wife and I are both teachers, we push these machine daily, and neither machine has given us any problems. I bought both of mine on ebay for less than $50 each and am looking to add a third. I am usually not a HP booster, but they got it right with this machine.

I bought this printer in Nov of 2003 and still with us. Basically used for home and school use with 4 kids. Toner replacement is about once a year to 18 months depending on use. The toner maybe costly but it prints thousands of pages. It can print black and white pictures in which the quality will be dependent on the compression of the pix. Overall, very sturdy, reliable and cost effective.

I will make this short and sweet. I love the HP 1012.There are painful issues when buying low cost lasers beyond the cost of replacement toner. The laser drum has a limited life span and will eventually fail, possibly do to the corrosive effects of heat and humidly over a period of six months to a year. In many lasers this is a separate assembly which has a rated life span of about 20,000 pages. That is great if you print all those pages within that time period but some users are finding that the drum fails regardless of per page use because of the above. They may print two thousand pages in one year and still have to purchase a new drum when the printing begins to fail. The pain is that a drum costs almost as much as a discounted laser printer does in the first place. This is a rip because these drums are not much more substantial than an empty coke can. Truly this is a case of "selling you the razor and hoping to make money when you need the blades". Look at all the Amazon reviews of other lasers where people have had them for more than six months. Do you begin to feel their pain? The HP apparently does not have a separate drum assembly. When you replace the cartridge you are replacing this also. That is probably why their cartridges appear to cost slightly more per copy than the other low cost lasers that I looked at. HP states their cartridge is guaranteed to be good for at least six months after it has been opened and that an unopened cartridge has a shelf life of two years in the plastic package. What HP doesn't want you or I to know is that they are rather conservative with the supply of toner and that the toner is designed to wear out long before the cartridge and drum does in the home environment of limited usage. If you really plan to print with the HP 1012, you may use that laser cartridge up long before six months is out. You may be interested in knowing that you can save two thirds the cost of a new cartridge by melting a hole in the used one and pouring in new toner designed for the HP 1012. You plug the hole and drop the little guy back in the printer and print away. Some people are reported to be able to do this up to four times before the little cartridge gives out completely and you must buy a new one. Anyone who can refill a salt shaker can be taught how to refill the HP 1012.This tactic drops the true cost per page way down compared to those other printers I looked at. To calculate their true cost per page you have to figure in buying a new drum or amortizing the total cost of the printer and pages printed until you must throw it away. Almost all of them can be refilled in a similar manner to the HP or you can pick up remanufactured toner cartridges for them. Do a web search for "HP 1012" laser "toner refill" using GOOGLE and you will eventually figure out how it is done. You can buy both the toner and a little twelve dollar tool kit to melt the hole from various sources on the net.Everyone else in these Amazon reviews have already hit on the other key reasons I grabbed an HP from one of Amazon's affiliates.ADDITIONAL 1012 PROS1 The printer has no fan and is super quiet.2 The 1012 uses only two watts in standby, you could leave it on 24X7 and it will draw as much as an instant on monitor or TV in standby.3 When printing it draws less than 300 watts, the others I looked at almost cause brownouts as they draw so much current while printing.4 The toner save feature works very well, I find it suitable for most of my print outs.5 It is so small it will fit almost anywhere. I placed mine behind my LCD montior screen in the area where there once was old huge CRT monitor body.CONS1 Printing on 3x5 cards is slower than normal printing, from hitting the command to send to the printer and the first card actually coming out. I suspect there is some driver issue causing this.It is not irritating but noticeable when you are used to get the first page in eight to ten seconds. My inkjets take far longer and they don't print on 3X5 cards correctly.2 Turning the 1012 off while printing will cause a paper jam and the HP 1012 lights will flash indicating a problem when you turn it back on. You have to take out the toner cartridge being careful not to expose the drum to light; I covered mine with the black plastic bag it came in. Then you must pull the jammed sheet of paper carefully forward thru the exposed assembly. This only happened to me once when I realized I had submitted a long WORD document of several hundred pages when I only wanted two pages excerpted out of it. I panicked before thinking because this printer is so fast and it was churning out all these pages when I only wanted two! The correct way to cancel a print job is open the Win XP printers' folder and click on CANCEL to stop the current job.I don't work for anyone in the computer industry. I have owned a number of HP printers over the years and still do. They always seem to be well built. The last inkjet I bought was an EPSON. I truely loat

Roy (below) is correct. Using the Vista "add a printer" button (on the Control Panel>>Printers tab), I've done the same thing. This is a bit infuriating, as the HP site blithely says Vista automatically supports the 1012, which it does not, and the add a printer wizard says you don't need any drivers for a USB printer. As many 1012 owners know, this is just flat wrong.I'm using the USB cable on my 1012 and installed the 1015 driver with reference to the "generic printer support" port that Vista loaded in an apparent attempt to cover the 1012 I have. With the 1015 driver, it works. This little, cheap laserjet has been an absolute workhorse for my small/medium b/w print jobs, and it doesn't gobble toner.

I ordered the printer on Christmas Eve 2004 from Amazon, and it arrived about 3 weeks later on a Friday. I reckon the holidays must have delayed the shipment. I have seen it selling for a little less elsewhere, but taking into consideration that shipping was free and I didn't have to pay sales tax in California, it was the best deal.I have a Powerbook running Mac OS-X 10.3.8 and I had the printer working in about 15-20 minutes after opening the box. There is no USB cable or a manual. A PDF manual is supplied in the CD-ROM along with the print driver. Just make sure you purchase a USB cable. I got an inexpensive Belkin USB cable from Amazon. The supplied HP print driver is version 1.1.3 and it prints the pages in reverse order by default. The printer puts out the pages face down, so you have to rearrange the pages in the proper order every time. I am a writer and I print out over 100 pages at a time, so that can be a big problem. I searched for a newer version of the print driver on the HP website, but they only had version 1.1.3 for download. I emailed Tech Support at HP on a Saturday and received a reply from them on Monday. They informed me that Version 4 of the print driver can be downloaded via an FTP address, which they emailed me. I don't know why they didn't make the latest print driver available on the HP website in the first place. I downloaded Version 4 and everything has been smooth sailing ever since. I have to commend HP Tech Support for their timely response and effectively solving my problem.Regarding the speed of the HP 1012.... It puts out the first page in less than 10 seconds. It is very quiet, because it doesn't have a fan. I have heard that the printer slows down after 50-plus pages while doing my research prior to purchasing it. Honestly, that concerned me. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I printed a manuscript that was 106 pages long. My printer never slowed down! Although the printer did get rather warm without a fan, it kept putting out the pages at the same consistent pace. I've printed 100-plus page manuscripts several times now with the same results. Even then, if you are doing extensive printing jobs, expect it to slow down. Otherwise, you might be better off getting a different printer that can handle the volume.I bought the printer for printing text and the results are sharp and clear. I considered the Samsung 1710 and 1740 and a couple of Brother printers in the same price range. I soon learned that Samsung stopped supporting Mac OS-X. While less expensive, Brother printers require a separate toner and drum, thus making the operating costs higher in the long run. The HP 1012 has the toner and drum combined together in one cartridge, so there are no expensive drum replacements. I've heard some people complain about the $69 price for the HP 1012 toner cartridge. You won't see me complaining, because I will not be paying $150 for a separate drum replacement. Besides, I've seen a new HP 1012 toner cartridge selling substantially less than $69 on the web.For my requirements, the HP 1012 was my only choice and the best choice. I've had the HP 1012 for 3 months now, and I've purposely waited this long to write this review so I can fully evaluate it. Aside from initial print driver issues, it has performed flawlessly printing everything from pages to envelopes. Feel free to contact me if you need print driver Version 4. I rate it 4 and a half stars. It would be 5 stars if it wasn't for the print driver issue.

I've had an HP1012 for well over a year, close to two years I think, and after minor glitches in the installation instructions (not the installation itself) have had absolutely no problems. The printer simply works, transparently. And compared to the frustrating crew of inkjets I'd had before, it is not only speedy but economical .. I'm still working on the initial cartridge, and I would certainly have had to spend far more on inkjet cartridges than the cost of the 1012.One does have to remember that this printer is intended for home and light office use, not as a heavy duty printer cranking out hundreds or thousands of pages a day. It's intended as a replacement for the home inkjet printer, not for a $500-1000 office printer. If you tend to print a web page, letter or other small document a few times a day, with an occasional 20 or 40 page document, it's ideal ... if you need to produce frequent 300 page reports under tight deadlines, get a printer designed for that. The lack of a fan that Spotlight Reviewer "RKO 'radiopictures'" so decries is actually a design feature -- the 1012 sits quietly on your desk, taking all of 2 or 4 watts when inactive, and even when it springs into motion to print a page, it doesn't sound like a jet taking off but emits a pleasant sort of high hum. Obviously it makes the printer cheaper to make (and what's wrong with that? the saving is passed on), but it also makes it a better companion for your desk. On the very rare occasions where I want to print more than 50 pages, I simply divide the task up with a break between sections for the printer to cool.

I purchased this printer a year ago for use in my home office, and for my fiance to print drafts of her masters paper on. I had an inkjet printer that worked fine, but the cost per page was quite high, so I went shopping for a laser printer.I chose the 1012 based in part on positive reader reviews on Macintouch.com. I ordered it from Amazon (free/slow shipping) and it arrived just a couple days later -- lovely! It's been trouble free ever since. It has only 8 MB of memory, but this has proven to be more than adequate for printing full page bitmaps, so it does not turn out to be a handicap. The toner cartridge is the one achilles heel of this device. It is designed for approx 3000 page service duty, about half a typical HP toner cartridge yield, but costs about as much as others, about $70 retail. (Your Milage May Vary: I've gotten at least 3500 pages so far, but I have a spare tone cartridge ready to swap in). I suspect this is how HP hopes to make money on such an inexpensive laser printer. But, if you do the math, the cost per page for your first 3000 sheets, including paper and the printer, is under seven cents per page, compared to 25 cents or more for inkjet prints. After this, the ongoing cost is only $0.025/page -- yes, two and a half cents. This assumes you get only what HP predicts, and not significantly better, as I have experienced. If your budget allows a more expensive printer which gets more pages per cart, you may want to, but for those of us on a budget, this is still a great deal, with the HP reliability we have come to expect. As noted by other reviewers, heavy duty cycle causes the printer to slow down. I don't consider this a big flaw -- it has no trouble turning out sixty page drafts on demand, at its full rated speed. And it's ultra-fast first page out is great!I have printed undersized stock and heavy stock with no real issues. When printing on card stock, the printer slows down and prints five to ten sheets per minute. I assume that the heavy cardstock somehow causes it to heat up and slow down. I've also printed sheets down to post card sized (about 4"x6") and it handles the paper fine. (The manual says the minimum sheet size is 3.5"x5".)A tip for Mac Users: this printer works fine with Panther out of the box, but install HP's drivers anyway to access some extra printer settings, such as Economode, low/high rez printing, and explicit support for the manual feed ("bypass") paper path.PROS: fast first page out, low cost of operation, HP reliability, plug-and-play with Airport ExpressCONS: higher cost of toner than professional-grade printers, slows down to cool off during very heavy print jobsSUMMARY: If you need to print hundreds of pages at a shot, get a professional grade printer such as the HP 4050. However, if you are a SOHO user and rarely need to print more than fifty or sixty pages at a time, I feel that this printer is an excellent choice with a low cost-per-page.

Being someone who has always used SLOW ink-jet printers that dried up and printed horribly, I can say this is absolutely the BEST consumer printer I have ever used. If you've always used ink-jet, the HP 1012 will be a breath of fresh air. It spits out a freshly printed page so fast and the quality is excellent. I've never had any problems with the ink spotting or splashing like with ink-jets.I purchased it well over a year ago and I STILL haven't had to replace the original ink cartridge that was included with the printer, and I've used it to print tons of letters, flyers, forms, manuals, b&w photos, all in the course of my full-time small business. Talk about getting your money's worth! It's quiet and compact and stylish. It doesn't feel cheap or flimsy. It doesn't come with a USB cable but most printers don't. (If you've been a computer user for more than a few years chances are you have one laying around anyhow!)I would recommend this printer to everyone with low to moderate printing needs. You will not be disappointed!

I bought an HP LaserJet 1012 for my 75 yo mother. She's been frustrated with cheap inkjet printers that never work for her (she prints so infrequently the cartridges clog or expire); I wanted something I could setup and forget about. The LJ1012 costs $175 to $200 or so, is utterly quiet and pretty compact, has a flat paper tray, is quite simple, and ought to do the trick for the next 5-10 years. So far, I'm pleased. But it does include spyware - or at least "nagware". The standard installer adds a "reminder" utility on the sly. It pops up every two weeks and recommends buying printer supplies. True, it comes with an uninstaller and one can turn off the reminders without uninstalling, but it is fundamentally marketing software installed without my awareness that provides me no benefit. By some definitions, that's spyware. It is hard for vendors to resist the temptations offered by an authenticated installer. I gave the printer 4 stars instead of five for that little trick. After you install your HP 1012, uninstall the nagware.Other than the nagware, there's not much to complain about. This ought to be an 'install and forget' light duty printer. It is very quiet and includes a bypass tray (not tested). USB only of course, no parallel. I'm testing it on an XP machine, it has OS X support (for when I switch my mother's Win98 box for a Mac mini and a Dell LCD panel). The installer utility appears to support client network access to a shared printer (not tested). There's almost no documentation with it. The documentation is on the CD. This may puzzle some people, it's not immediately obvious how to install the cartridge.

I've been using this printer for 4 months. So far, I'm satisfied with its performance. I'm chagrined that I suffered with an ink-jet printer for years, when laser printers are now relatively inexpensive. This particular printer does not come with a USB cable (or other type of printer cable), so make sure that you have one or aquire one.The paper tray and the other accessories are not the high-quality, heavy-duty things you may be accustomed to seeing on your printer at work; they seem flimsy but adequate for home use. There is no written manual, and the assembly instructions are merely pictographs - no written instructions on the sheet. Still, it's easy to assemble and connect to your computer. The only unclear step is the one that instructs you to rock the toner cartridge back and forth before inserting it into the printer. If you're unfamiliar with replacing a toner cartridge, you probably won't understand the picture-directions.

I should have gotten a laser printer years ago. I always wanted a dependable printer that I could print out a few documents ever few days. I have never had a inkjet printer that lasted more than a year before the printhead died (Canon). Plus, the ink is over priced. There is a the bonus of printing out color photos from a digital camera, but it is much cheaper to get it done at the drug store via a Kodak photo printer.Once I saw that the laser printer prices have dropped so much I did the investingating into purchasing one. The HP 1012 had everything I was looking for, great price, cheap toner (via eBay) and outstanding quality. Plus it prints pages with blazing speed when compared to a inkjet. If you are looking for a laser printer with a great budget price go no further than the HP 1012.

Prior to my buying this HP 1012 laser printer, I had a old, expensive, networked behemoth of a color laser printer. When that printer died, I was in a quandry: spend a fortune on another color laser, buy a color inkjet, or just buy a black & white laser printer. Since I almost never need to print anything in color, and my printing needs run to a page or two every couple of days, I decided to go with this low-volume HP 1012. It was an excellent choice. With my old printer, I'd have to sit around for five minutes after turning it on until I could print. With the HP 1012, I flip the switch and it's ready to print in seven seconds. That, alone, makes the printer a big winner. As for the speed of printing, I just printed the Amazon page I'm editing from and it took 12 seconds (two pages of text and graphics). Everything's crisp, clean, and sharp.I NEVER print out photographs, so I'm not really a good judge of this. But, just to test it, I printed out several photos I took with my digital camera. The output's not in color, of course, but they look fine to me. Also, they only took about 10 seconds to print.Regarding connectivity, even though this is a USB 2.0 only printer, it doesn't come with a USB cable. So, make sure you buy one if you don't have one lying around the house. I do wish I could hook this printer directly up to my network via an Ethernet card, but at this price point, I'd be foolish to expect it. As it is, I've easily shared the printer across my network under XP. My one gripe about that sharing is that to print across the network, the remote computer has to have access to the Guest account on the host computer. Most XP setups probably have no password on the Guest account, so that's no problem. In my case, I've got a password on that account. So, the person on the remote computer has to sign-on to that account under his "My Network Places:" the print driver isn't smart enough to prompt for the logon itself. Without signing on, the print job just disappears. That's probably an XP issue, though, so I'm not blaming the printer.All-in-all, I'm very happy with this printer and highly recommend it to anyone with light printing needs, a USB 2.0 port, and no need for color.

I bought this printer, set it up for home use, and then immediately bought 3 more for light office use!The footprint is extremely compact; it is quite light, and is not big and ugly sitting on your desk. The printing speed through USB 2.0 is extremely fast - I have not experienced any jamming or paper loading issues. Unpacking and set-up is effortless.I have had an HP 2200 for heavier office use for about 3 years. For the price I paid for that, you can buy 5 of these - and the print speed is only 4 pages PM slower. This printer is perfect for general home use, and moderate small business office use. Great for college students. Unless you regularly print documents longer than 25 pages, this is an absolutely excellent buy. If you do print longer documents you should be aware that the printer will slow down production after between 30-50 pages, due to the lack of a cooling fan.Otherwise, you will not regret purchasing this. Oh.. one last note... make sure you have a spare USB cable!

Not too many weeks ago I decided that the high cost of feeding my "low cost" inkjet printer with new cartridges soon outpaced that initial "low cost" value. I needed a laser printer. But since my knowledge of the finer points of printers is shamefully limited, I came to Amazon looking for suggestions. Well, to make the proverbial long story short, the most recommended printer that I could find in my price range was the Hewlett Packard LaserJet 1012. So, armed with a little more "wisdom" and a little less cash in my wallet, I took the plunge and bought the HP 1012. I guess you only have to see the "Five Star" rating to figure out the rest.Setup and installation was incredibly easy (took less than 15 minutes). There is an easy-to-follow page of setup instructions. Faced with (for me) a fairly large print job, I printed off approximately 1700 full pages on my first toner cartridge. That seemed to work out to be about a third the cost of my inkjet printer cartridge. And that was before I realized (yeah, duh!) that there is an "economy" mode. Slow learner, I guess. There is no manual included, but you can download it online (which I just did). Since I openly confess to lacking any "real" knowledge about printers, let me just say that compared to my inkjet printer the HP 1012 is VERY fast. The paper tray is easily accessible and it is easy to change the paper (it holds about 150 sheets of paper). I suppose it should be obvious that this is NOT a color printer, but just in case you weren't paying attention, it is NOT. But it sure is a GREAT printer. Wonderful investment.

I normally print around 30-50 pages a month and I bought this printer because it was one of the cheapest laser printers on the market.Overall, I have been very happy with my purchase. The printer delievers exactly what it promises: a low-cost, no-frills printer for light usage. The text output is very sharp but images don't come out very well. By it's very nature the 1012 is designed for text-oriented printing. The speed is satisfactory and the first page does indeed come out very fast. The 1012 also prints envelopes but the Microsoft Word envelope wizard requires manual adjusting to correctly align the output. The major issue with this printer is that it is not designed for heavy use. HP states that you should only print 5,000 pages a month so this printer is inappropriate for heavy users. It also has no provisions for network access. Linux support is not very good.Compared to the competition, the 1012 is probably the best value. Samsung offers cheaper laser printers but their toner is much more expensive so you'll end up paying more over the life of the printer. Brother printers are also cheap but they have reliabilty issues.Like all printers nowadays, the USB cable is not included. Thus expect to pay a little extra in that regard. The software and drivers are adequate. You can print multiple pages on one sheet. You can also print duplex if you manually reinsert the printed pages. There is a toner-saver mode and it works as expected. In short, if what you are looking for is a non-frills, cheap printer for printing primarily text documents, then the 1012 is for you.

This is a great printer if you 1) don't print large volumes of and 2) you are limited on space. As an added bonus, original HP toner for this printer is pretty reasonable $62-65.I am a small business owner and I probably print 10-20 pages per day. This unit is fast and the quality is excellent. It was easy to set up - got to love easy to install drivers and plug and play USB!If you are looking to print a lot, I would look at a higher volume machine. One pet peeve is that HP, like many other companies, refuse to include a USB cable.
