it is HD!! I took photos with and without it on. The photos are same, nothing different. And it protects your lens perfectly. I dropped my camera once. Fortunately, I have this filter on my lens. It dented the circle ring but nothing on the glass. That is the thing you must have for you lens.

High quality filter
This is the fourth Hoya HD filter I've bought which I suppose is a recommendation in itself. I like them because they feel well made, have a thin profile and don't smear easily.

The best money can buy
These Hoya filters are expensive, but well worth the money. They are durable and thin enough not to cause vignetting with short focal length lenses. I use them all the time.

Everyone should have one
I buy UV filters for all my lenses, mainly for the protection they give - as most of the books say, how much better it is to have to replace a cheap(ish) filter than a lens costing hundreds of ££.

Quality
If you have cheep lens you can buy a cheep filter. But if you've paid £1500.00 for a lens its silly putting on a cheep filter and it you will know this already. This just screams quality.

Untested outside but first looks are this is a high quality filter.
Fits perfectly and you can also put your lens cap over this so you can keep it on the camera at all times.

Great product.
I've been using this filter for a few weeks now and it's pretty noticeable the quality of it. I seriouslly couldn't notice any interferance on my images. With so many debates about using or not a filter and blah blah blah I thought a million times about it and took the risk. I'm not a pixel peeper, i rather have my lens protected.

Multi coating seems much more resilient than other filters I have owned
I live by the sea, so my camera is regularly covered in spray. And so far, this filter seems to have tolerated my efforts to remove salt deposits without damaging the coatings.

You should never skimp on glass for you lens! It makes no sense in buying an expensive lens then putting a cheap UV /lens protector on it. Your impeding the performance of the lens.

Oh, my word!!!!!!! I am so pleased, such a sturdy great filter!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish I would have bought one for all my lenses, well definitely will now. Definitely worth the price. The Hoya Digital HD range is a good one and worth the bit extra.I own several different diameters for my different lenses and I am very satisfied to date.

Protect your investment
Been there done that got the T-shirt, don’t go spending thousands on camera lenses and then not protecting the glass at the front, when you come to sell it if it’s got a scratch you’re going to lose hundreds.

I bought a 82mm one for 50 bucks, it suppose to be good, even though I am not sure if it's better than other similar filter.
