This entire line of Grohe bathroom fittings is beautiful in the Starlight chrome and beyond expectations. I was familiar with the fixtures when I renovated the master bathroom so ordered the same for another large bathroom. You need the 16 inch arm to extend the range showerhead at an appropriate distance from the wall . I mistakenly ordered a 12 inch but returned this one and ordered this 16 inch. You do not need to get the jumbo arm as more than enough pressure operates the Grohe Soul rain shower head. The chrome finish is elegant and easy to clean. Simply wipe up daily with a soft cloth and your shower will look new.

The cover plat that comes with this is very cheap. I've seen much better from other manufacturers. Look from this part elsewhere, it's just chrome - nothing special.

My bathroom remodel has taken a month and, although I contacted Groehe, they have not replied and my return window has closed. This arm is not strong enough to support the rainshower head it was designed for. It puts downward pressure on the pipe to bend and break loose. No help in solving the issue.

made the mistake of buying a cheaper shower arm the first time around.. this product is definitely worth the price. no leaks, no problems, feels sturdy compared to the cheap piece of crap i bought the first go.. think about it this way, it'll save you money from calling a plumber to get a cheaper shower arm out

It's a shower arm...what can you say. But I trust Grohe and it seems solid, well finished and threaded in easily and accepted my high-end Hansgrohe showerhead at the other end. Replaces a lower priced arm that was only 6 years old that cracked at the junction at the wall from corrosion. I know there is a fair amount of stress at that location given the 16" length, but I would think a good arm would last 20 or more years. I expect that of this one. Shipped very fast and came in perfect condition, thank you Amazon. Rated 4 stars instead of 5 only because of price.

This item allowed the shower head to extend further from the wall, so you don't have to stand right up against the wall. It makes showering more enjoyable. I'm sold on Grohe. Great Customer Care too.

I like this product however, I received a knock off, which I promptly returned. The Grohe brand is really heavy and knockoff weights half. So my rating is on the product that I went out and purchased from another source.

This works just as it should. Purchased it for use with the 8" Grohe rainshower Cosmopolitan head and it supports the weight of the head very well.
I'm happy I went with the 16 inch length since the pipe in the wall is back in there farther than I suspected. A 12 inch arm would have been too short, so think about that when you're deciding on a length.

So glad I read the reviews of this and the shorter arm. This length lets you stand sufficiently away from the wall while under it so you can move your arms, shoulders, etc. around and not bump into things.

Excellent quality. As others have said thick and heavy. Installs easily. Get some plumbers tape and you're off. One trick I picked off youtube: when installing insert the wrench handle inside the shower arm and twist. Works like a snap and no scratching!

Super quality and looks great. I installed this with a 10" American Standard rain shower head and it looks and works great. A bit pricey though but you get what you pay for.
