Only option for good audio
I bought this for Gopro Hero 5 black, to do motovlogging, I am using it since past 10 months no any issue. Actually this adapter is the only option you have to put on camera and record good audio by inserting an external mic. Quality is good, water resistance until you don't allow water inside the audio jack. Bulky in size but this is the only option cant do anything.

Good product (read on for important information)
- The build quality is good.
- connects to the c-port of GoPro
- has a separate charging point that can power your GoPro even while the mic is connected
- thickness / size / length is a bit too much, considering GoPro specialises in compact products that deliver great end results. When I think of GoPro, i think of everything small size, sturdy and rugged. This adapter is big.
- the adapter uses trs connection. If your mic, like mine, has trrs connection jack then you’ll need to buy another trrs to trs conversion adapter and then connect it to this adapter. Otherwise your recordings won’t have the audio. Hah! While this information is nowhere mentioned on the product or this page, I found that out after hours of struggling with the mic and GoPro settings. For a product specification of an adapter and at this price, trs and trrs connection should be provided or the trrs-trs adapter should be supplied along. AND mention this information on the box or setup sheet.

Awesome audio accessory
Awesome product, using the audio line input function for recording videos with audio from another source. All in all good product, but a bit bulky for my hero 5. Overpriced because this arrived from the Amazon global store from USA. Had to pay for customs fee and product took a long time to arrive.

Idk why it is sold separately. It is an essential requirement for gopro cameras and moreover it is huge. Doesn't come in handy when mounting is sophisticated areas. Product works fine tho.

Not at all Working correctly , just for one day it worked good and after that it never worked waste of money,i didn't expect this type of quality from go pro or amazon, fully disappointed with the product

Faulty pieces being sent without checks done
Do have an immediate check post purchasing. The 3.5 jack part of the adapter does not work (trs or trrs cable inlet) . If you have not checked immediately after purchase and return window is closed, you will end up with being stuck with a faulty adapter. Not happy with the purchase

Buy for gopro hero 5
Last 10 year I travel and cpature a movement of my life , tracking. I having gopro hero 7 and and gopro hero 5 . I am always shoot in flat profile and gopro 5 provide very good flat image profile but talking about sound hero 5 very bad . So this adapter provide me very good sound . And so glad to delivery service when plan to going out ,sem day they deliver the product . So without any thik u guys go hed and buy this product

Worst mic adaptor worthless
I've used it for jus two months I thought I had problems with my external mic but until several days later the problem was with go pro connector it's very bad purchase and so expensive I need refund

Great Product
Its great and only product which can be compatible in market with go pro officially but the only thing is that its very expensive i bought it around 4200.You have no option but to buy this if want to user external microphone for your go pro 6,7,8 etc
