Here is why there are so many negative reviews:
I noticed that many of the negative reviews were written by people who purchased "discount" batteries, while those who bought directly from Amazon were positive. The reason is simple, the cheap batteries are cheap for a reason: they are either counterfeit or so old that they have discharged in storage. In contrast, many who got good batteries bought them directly from Amazon; so I did that, and they are all fresh and fully charged.
As soon as I received my batteries in the mail I did two things. I checked the manufacture date, then I tested them.
My batteries have a manufacture date from only 5 months ago, with a "use by" date 5 years in the future. And, when I tested them they were all fully charged. (See photographs)
So yes, I will continue to buy batteries from Amazon, but only those sold directly by Amazon. The cheap batteries are cheap for a reason: they are duds, not deals.

Not for kid toys
Pretty much cheaper every second battery leaking at the end of life.
It's been two months and all batteries gone - lifetime is expected. But every time I found toy is not working -- I saw leaked battery.
I will never buy these for kids toys.
Unsafe !!

STOP! OLD STOCK DO NOT BUY!
purchased these battery and shipped them to the philippines. upon using them the battery would last 2 days at best. in some cases 5 hrs. i guess they r selling old stock. keep that in mind when you buy.

They don’t last the day. Constantly replacing them in devices.
These batteries last about a day. I have never encountered such reduced battery life. I don’t know if they are old, have been stored incorrectly, knock-offs, or what. All I know is that I have never replaced energizer batteries so often.

Suspect quality
Opened the box to find that all the batteries appeared to be covered with corrosion dust (white powder) despite the printed expiration date of 2028. End cap seals were not uniform or cleanly finished, either. Whether these are offshore knock-offs or just sloppy manufacturing, I am not willing to bet on their safety or reliability.

My battery set was real thing.
I have read reviews about these batteries not being good, but I ordered a set of these AAA and tested each battery. They all tested at >1.63 volts All have date code 12 2028, and MADE IN USA written on batteries. The batteries are boxed with 4 AAA/box, with 6 of the sets of 4 in a long box, and two of the 24 battery box in a carton. There is no plastic packaging used, only cardboard boxes. I have seen these type boxes, used by installers of satellite gear, for remotes. As for this set, these are great batteries.

This is a good deal. I used to wait for them to ...
I use a lot of AA batteries. For me personally, I have found Energizer lasts longer than other brands. This is a good deal. I used to wait for them to go on sale at Home Depot or Lowe's, but this is a good deal and I don't need to wait for a sale.

Don’t buy
Every time I put these in something they worked for a day or two. Ex. Smoke alarms, flash lights, etc. Ridiculous

These are terrific batteries. But more important, they actually guarantee they won't leak. After having everything from flashlights to toothbrushes ruined by leaking batteries, I decided, No more. I can't imagine ever buying any other brand.

Great value
Normally, I buy the Rayovac batteries at Walmart to try to save some money. Based on the volume of batteries, these turned out to be cheaper and they are Energizer. When I open the battery box up, instead of being a bunch of lose batteries, they were boxed separated into 4 batteries per smaller box. The way may son goes through batteries on the xbox, this will be a Christmas present.

I assumed maybe i got a bad 4 pack but then i tried another two batteries
I bought 2 X 24 pack batteries. They come in 24 in a pack which are then individually packed in fours. I tried them on my remote but they didn't work. I assumed maybe i got a bad 4 pack but then i tried another two batteries, same result; no joy; so i tried another pack and same thing. I figured maybe it was my remote, but then i took the batteries out of another remote which i knew worked and my remote did work! So, please do not order from this company as it seems they sell old batteries which don't work. Thanks

Waste of time and money. Thank God no hurricanes
About half of them were dead. What I should have saved ended up being a total waste. Will not get them here in bulk like that again. Will try somewhere else.

quality of packing needs to improve
Hope they turn out fine but quality of packing needs to improve. The way i got ot creates an impression that batteries could have been easiltaken out, used and then put back.
