Монитор практически идеален, хорошо настраивается, большой запас яркости, картинку можно настроить практически идеально. Мне есть с чем сравнить, сижу на NECах, сейчас NEC 20WGX2 и NEC PA301. Работаю с графикой (обработка фото) и видео (монтаж 4К). Да, у NEC 301 матрица 10-битная, он аппаратно откалиброван, у данного Dell матрица 8-битная и HDR у него программный, но картинка очень хороша. В некоторых приложениях, например, Photoshop, шрифт после запуска очень мелкий, требуется выйти из системы и снова всё запустить. Пожалуй, это единственный нюанс, который надо учитывать. Может возникнуть желание купить монитор большей диагонали, но для меня этот размер оптимален, так ка покупал себе на работу, а таскать слишком большой монитор не комфортно. Если цена устраивает, очень рекомендую к покупке!

Монитор практически идеален, на данный момент эксплуатирую NEC WGX2 и NEC PA 301, работаю с графикой (обработка фото) и видео (монтаж 4К), так что есть с чем сравнить. В приложениях, чтобы шрифт стал на место, часто требуется выйти из системы и опять всё запустить. В общем, 5 баллов по всем параметрам. Может захотеться диагональ побольше, но для меня эта оптимальна, так как покупал себе на работу. Да, в NEC PA301 матрица всё-таки 10-битная, а в этом Dell 8, и HDR здесь программный, но качество картинки отличное. Если цена устраивает, очень рекомендую к покупке.

+Яркая и насыщенная картинка (спасибо LED подсветке);
+Высокая скорость отклика (между 5 и 2 мс разницу заметить сложно, а вот уже 8 и более, то тогда становятся видны шлейфы и замыливания);
+Адекватная и качественная цветопередача, хотя и не идеальная, но кому для каких нужд. Если для игр, просмотра кино и набора текста – тогда это ваш вариант, если же для профессиональной работы в области фото и дизайна, то тогда вам другая матрица и цена соответственно;
+После долгой работы за монитором глаза не устают и не слезятся.

+Есть возможность подключения собственной мини-акустической системы. Колонки не покупал, о качестве ничего сказать не могу, т.к. сам пользуюсь Microlab Solo 7c. Хотя у кого ограничено пространство комнаты и стола, думаю, что вполне адекватная альтернатива простеньким настольным колоночкам.

- + ЛУЧШИЙ! Dell вообще прекрасен лучшая цветопередача и идеальная цена. Нет смысла больше 10 тр платить.
Покупала в подарок маме учителю, которая мучается с приложением "Моя Школа", наше Министерство образования дает миллион указаний учителям, но не обеспечивает аппаратурой.
Этим монитором я пользуюсь больше полугода, довольна, купила второй в семью.

I purchased this monitor at Staples because they were selling it on sale at $189. It was one of the few 24" monitors available, and I was attracted to the size / resolution and image quality right off the bat. Compared to the other monitors on display, it seemed brighter and crisper. I also liked the energy star badge, and DVI, VGA, and HDMI connections. In the future, it could easily support gaming / TV duties. It was also one of the only monitors that had some negative tilt, which I need because of the desk I work on.Well, this might be a good example of "in store" versus "in home" performance.Setting up the monitor was a breeze, it looks decent and has a neat LED glow under the logo, which is tasteful. The On Screen Menu is easy to use, and while I usually hate touch buttons, these seem to work very well.The issue is, once I turned it on and starting staring at it, it just didn't seem like the same awesome display I had seen. I really think that this monitor is tuned to look best in really well lit fluorescent Staples like stores! In a home with less or natural light pouring in, I could see where one reviewer criticized its "washed out" look. After playing around for awhile, I figured out what to do.Primarily, either through windows, or through your ATI or NVidia control panels, you should re-calibrate the image. The main thing to do is cut the Gamma levels, which are way too high out of the box. I dropped mine through the ATI panel literally as far as it would let me. I would have gone further, but didn't feel like screwing around. Then, I set brightness to about 90, and contrast to around 60-70. If you have no idea what I am talking about, don't buy this monitor for the home.If you do know what I am talking about, know that after this little bit of tweaking, the colors popped a bit more, and overall appearance improved. This is no miracle fix, as you get what you pay for, but overall I think I will be happy in the long run. The image seems evenly lit, no dead pixels, and while black levels and contrast are inferior to even a basic HDTV, this is what I am used to. My monitors are always cheap.Pros -Good, tilting stand, overall attractiveEasy to use menusGood connectivityGood image post-tuning (cut the Gamma!)Probably perfect for an office type environmentGreat price / resolution / sizeCons -Now a bit of an older model, and LCDs are getting better all the timeReally lousy image out of box (at home)Has audio and HDMI inputs, but I get no use from this yetDell customer service - heaven help you if you need itI would not use this monitor to edit photos or do serious graphics or movie watching. For routine tasks, gaming, and surfing the web, its great. People that expect their monitor to look perfect out of the box may want to steer clear.

I used to work for a company that would only buy Dell UltraSharp Flat panels, which in 24" are over $400 each...so when I became a contractor and had to buy my own equipment, I was willing to compromise on the price. I bought one of these and had a dual monitor setup with a 19" 4:3 ultrasharp (Dell 1907) next to it, for a while.The colors aren't quite the same. These have a little more yellow saturation by default. But there are a lot of options for adjusting the RGB settings along with the contrast and brightness, so you can tweak it. But I'm a sys-admin, not an artist or web designer, so I leave it stock and it works for me.The base is fixed. So it doesn't go up or down or rotate 90 degrees, but it does tilt back and forth.This monitor will accept a dell speaker bar, though you need to use an AC adapter for the speaker bar, as it doesn't have the 5V connector built into the monitor.All-in-all I was so happy with the price and overall performance that I bought a second one and when I can put my new desk together, if I have enough room, I will buy a 3rd because they are a good quality and you get a nice looking, pretty high resolution screen for the money.I'm also happy to report that the 2nd monitor has an identical color profile to the first which was purchased 3 months prior. So if you are buying a couple of these for side-by-side use, out of the box they were identical. I've had monitors in the past that are the same make, model and year, but have different color profiles.bottom-line: If you are a graphic designer or need extremely accurate color pallets, then you will need to spend more money for an ultrasharp-class monitor. But for most people, this will fit the bill and give you good bang for your buck.

THE GOOD:The title of the review is "Bright Shining Star" and that is definitely the first thing you notice, this thing is really bright. There are some "Canned" display settings to toggle through which are helpful. As my eyes adjusted, I stuck with the default. That's probably the best choice is light is washing onto your display.I haven't been able to make the monitor ghost. I've torture tested it, and nothing. Even extreme fast motion video, no degradation. Now I don't get sea-sick playing games.It's big. No, I'm not trying to be funny, it's just big. I was originally thinking about a 27-inch, that would have been a poor decision. The viewable area is fantastic, I can basically side by two normal layout word documents at 100% without side scrolling. Wondrous.THE BAD:It's big, and no, I'm not trying to be contrary. The relative size of monitor to stand concerns me slightly. I have a cat that choses to be affectionate when I'm working at the computer. On more than one occasion I've watched the thing tilt on contact. Just need to find weight to put on the stand, but be careful with pets, small children, or a wobbly work surface.The controls leave a bit to be desired. The markings for the touch points appear to be gray instead of white, and are difficult to spot in a poorly lit room. After you've accessed the menu 10-20 times when trying to power down, you do start to learn the layout.Occasionally the monitor takes a litle bit of time to wake up from sleep, but that's really just a minor inconvenience.SUMMARY:If you're looking for a brilliant monitor without the cost driving bells and whistles, this is your pick.

I am so glad I made this choice has a few pre stet picture modes to chose from, has different inputs to chose for different connections possibilites.The picture quality is amazing. The design is sleek and attractiveI use it in what I call my "command center" where i run a double display with this Dell and a Samsung 32" 720p tv. The Samsung shows streaming movies via pc for my gf while I am on the pc or playing C.O.D its easy to set up looks great out of the box. No brainier looks great

I selected this monitor because it had the all the various inputs available - VGA & DVI & HDMI - and I have had other Dell Monitors and still have one other one and have been very pleased with them. I will have to admit this one does look much better than my old one but that is to be expected as improvements are made. I would buy this one again if I needed one and if it was available.

This is a very good monitor. Purchased two for a dual screen. only draw back is that it does not have any speakers but has mounts for dell speaker bar.Also there is no wall mount kit or dual mount kit for this monitor. but they work fine just set next to each other.

I have tried every single thing possible to get the audio input and output jacks to work. But it doesnt look like it works. Im starting to think that it will only work with the separate accessory that they sell. Now I have no problem getting sound out off the computer itself but the display audio jacks dont seem to work. I have Bose Companion Desktop Speakers and I have tried plugging it into the audio input and output ports on the display and it doesnt work. I have even tried just plugging in regular headphones into the audio input jack. But it doesnt seem to work. I also tried playing around with the menu settings on the display. Anybody else having this problem? I really wish that I found out about this sooner because my grace period expired already D;. If anyone finds a solution to make the audio input and output jacks to work please leave a comment and tell me how you solved the problem. In case anyone was wondering I have used the vga and hdmi to connect the display to my computer. While trying to make the audio work.

I bought 2 of these monitors for programming purposes, which they work well and were merely a plug-n-play installation. I did have to buy a HDMI cable for the 2nd monitor to operate with the NVIDIA GPU, so I did not give it 5 stars. It would be great if you offered the monitors with a choice of either type of cable (Analog/DVI-D adapter or HDMI) or just include both. Otherwise, I am very satisfied with this product.

This monitor provides a sharp clear picture. The colors are rich and beautiful. Text is clear and video is spectacular, no motion blur that I can detect. The price is excellent for a picture this good. The one con is that the stand does not have a height adjustment.

This could be a great monitor, but I wouldn't know because it doesn't have the holes that allow you to mount to a wall mount, or articulating dual monitor desk mount...(it didn't even occur to me that a new monitor might not have this feature) This isn't a feature that you can search by, you just have to look at monitors with photos of the back and see if it has the holes. I never plugged it in, so clarity, look etc. I can not vouch for.

I bought this as a second monitor for a home workstation. It was to be side by side with a 3 year old Dell 24" monitor of a diffferent generation. When I put them next to eachother, it was night and day difference. I ended up just replacing my other monitor as this one was brighter, clearer and hands down better. I wasn't expecting much out of a $190 monitor and was surprised. It has a cool LED in the bottom of the monitor so I can see what is on my desk at night. It only comes with a standard VGA cable which is not great, but you can use a DVI cable (not included). So far, I really like this monitor. I gave it a four out of five, due to only including a VGA cable.

The cable that connects to the computer did not actually fit! I used the one from my old monitor and it works fine. Otherwise the monitor is great! The picture and color is awesome!

I'm a bit perplexed to read the 1-star review citing "washed out colors" with no attempt to check on the multitude of color adjustment options and preset (and then of course just as quickly recommends an obscure monitor brand to purchase instead). I bought the monitor with a Dell Studio XPS with Windows 7, and couldn't be happier.The monitor has three different inputs: VGA, DVI-D and HDMI. You can actually leave different inputs attached (e.g. computer and DVD player, or multiple computers) and switch them at the control panel. The monitor also has an array of preset color modes: standard, multimedia, game, warm, cool and custom. Perhaps the other reviewer simply was unaware of these features, but depending on the modes his monitor is set, and the usage, he may not be seeing optimal colors. For example, the "Cool" mode creates a very different look than the "multimedia" mode.I use the monitor with Photoshop for photography editing and flyer design. So color range is important to me and from my perspective the colors are vivid and accurate -- not washed out. Some people expected hyper-saturated colors in their video games and movies, and this effect can be achieved by modifying settings, if it's wanted.When I'm not using the monitor for work, it's big enough (and wide enough) to become an HD movie screen, so I get the best of both worlds: a large format monitor to do graphics work, and a screen large enough to watch and enjoy movies.I purchased an adapter on ebay to use the monitor with an articulating monitor arm, and it looks great. The other thing I like is the ability to flip the monitor on its side and use it in vertical mode, great for documents.

Been using my Dell ST2421L Monitor for a couple of months. So far it's been great. I'm using it as a primary monitor hooked up to my 13" MacBook Pro with an mini HDMI to DVI connector. Colors are very nice. Have not tried any of the controls yet so can't comment on them. Like the fact that it is an LED monitor as it is very efficient. Have no complaints. Great monitor for the price.

PROS: It's a big huge monitor, with tons of space to work with. It's cheap. It's got a sharp 1080p picture. Good colors. No mouse ghosting. VGA, DVI, and HDMI ports. The whites are REALLY clean whites. Light/Easy to carry. Monitor itself looks good, too.CONS: The stand, while strong, isn't very stable, so that my monitor shakes when I bump my desk. No bells or whistles (i.e. USB ports, card reader, speakers, swiveling, rotating, height adjustment, etc.). The blacks aren't really that dark; Compared to my old Dell, they're quite gray.Altogether, I find that it's a super monitor for the cheap price it's offered for. Good for everything but graphic designers and hardcore gamers.

I bought two of these and use them for a dual monitor set up. I am not a monitor expert but I can tell you the picture looks great. They have an on screen menu that makes adjustments easy to use. Most everything is done for you automatically though. The only downside for me was that they do not have the holes in the back to mount an arm. Other then that they are great.
