Purchased it for Rs.1529 for my 10 year old laptop (runs XP/Vista 32bit) with VIA chip-set. It got recognized without any issue by BIOS and XP installer both. So people looking to boost their old PCs can go for this. Incompatibility is less likely is what i can say. Only thing make sure is that you have a SATA interface available and not IDE.
Any SSD is always better than a traditional drive technically, Period. No point spending time in bench marking the I/O and other jargon if you are a domestic PC user...

Upgraded my 10 year old acer laptop ... Feel like new now ... everything respond fast specially booting , now only 10 sec from more then a minute earlier ... Was spectical at first for upgrading bcoz of transferring data ..but all went well and it was fairly simple then i imagined .. just use the given software clone the drive and just replace ..thats it. .... Took me like 30 min max including cloning . Though i am limited by my mother board sata 2 connection ..i am getting around 250 -300 mbps which is far better then earlier ... And if you hace sata 3 access it will show you more difference for the upgrade .. anyway for those of you who are wondering weather to upgrade or not with sata 2 laptop..just go for it, you will be able to use ur laptop more than 5 years more ...

My system specification:(HP G42-458TU) Intel Core i3 M370 @2.40 GHz, 4GB DDR3 RAM, Intel HD graphics. Seagate 500 GB HDD on SATA2 port, Windows 10 Pro (Build 1909).

My plan was to upgrade my approx. 10-year-old laptop (HP G42-458TU) which had Seagate 500 GB HDD running fine on SATA2 port but Windows 10 pro was running too slow that it took around 3-5 minutes to even boot up the system.
So I decided to upgrade with a budget 240 GB SSD on main SATA2 port and my old Seagate HDD on a CADDY (This is basically a Hard Drive Adapter that lets you add a second hard drive to the laptop systems by replacing it with DVD drive). It comes in two variants 12.7 mm and 9.5 mm, if interested buy according to your laptop.

So what were the results after upgrading with this Crucial BX500 240 GB SSD?
I did a fresh installation of windows 10 pro-1909 (took 8 minutes) and in comparison with my HDD, Windows is now running buttery smooth. Just click on any windows application and its there like an Image viewer, Snipping tool, office 365 etc. Boot time is like 15-20 seconds sometimes 10 seconds keeping in mind that my system has SATA2 port. You can see screenshots for read and write speeds.

Remember always do a fresh installation of windows for a smooth experience and more the free space in your SDD the better it will perform.

ADATA SU650 vs Crucial BX500 vs Kingston A400 vs Seagate Maxtor vs WD Green which one is the best?
Well it really depends on your need and budget and yes SATA port that your system supports like mine was SATA2 but if your system has SATA3 port then you'll definitely see more improved performance. If you are a regular user upgrading from HDD to SDD which uses it basically for office 365, streaming, and browsing you can buy any of them. If your budget is high always go for SSD with DRAM (like Samsung EVO) especially if using it as a Windows drive.

Why Crucial is better than ADATA in India?
Every budget SSD comes with a warranty of 3 years and after doing some inquiry conclusion was: To claim the warranty for crucial SSD you can just courier the product to any of the crucial service centers in India but the ADATA case was different. For ADATA you have to bring the product in hand to the service centers.

Overall I'll suggest if you're using HDD as a boot drive then you must upgrade to SDD.

Best upgradation for your slow machine. Cheapest 3D nand ssd with great performance. It really makes a hell lot of difference to bump up the speed of your machine. When you buy this ssd, make sure you connect it with sata3 interface to get the best speed (559 MB/s on my device) and enable "Momentum Cache" by downloading Crucial Storage Executive which gave me speed upto 4847MB/s by caching data in RAM .

This made a huge difference to the performance of my asus x505za laptop which already comes with a 1tb hdd drive. Boot time of windows 10 home is merely 3 to 5 secs. Has enough capacity to store all my virtualbox vm's, few games and most third party program like msoffice, photoshop,etc.
Installation is ease, difference between m.2 nvme and this one in real time performance is very negligible. While nvme disks comes at twice the cost, therefore would definitely recommend this one over nvme.

I recently decided to upgrade my existing 1 TB Seagate barracuda pro SSHD boot up drive , as it failed just over an year, it was a real tough task to lock on to the correct parameters to check , so as to make a sound purchase.

There is no way ahead, unless you decide what’s the size that you are looking for.
 
🔹️If you are planning on using it as a bootup drive then go for no less than 512 GB and if you are into games, you can go for anything up to 2 TB depending upon your budget.

🔶️For gaming though, I suggest you to go for blazing fast nvme drives provided you have that slot.
If you have two drive slots – one can be nvme for bootup & sata ssd for storage.
 
🔹️Even if you are not into games – I would suggest not to go below 512 GB as a future proof measure considering the ever-increasing application and software installation sizes.
 
🔹️For any storage or bootup drive anything is good provided you keep 10 % space free, for optimum disk performance and speed.
 
♦️I decided to go for 1TB SATA SSD version to be used as a simple storage drive.

🔹️For boot up drive, I purchased an Adata SX 8200 pro nvme drive.

🔹️Out of 1 TB, I got around 931.5 GB of usable space. 

🔹️Also talking about its physical size, most Sata SSDs are now 7 mm wide but any thing of width 7 mm or 9.5 mm would fit just fine in the sata slot.

This is another very critical deciding feature as it represents the data packing density per cell.
 
🔹️The QLC is the latest technology and stands for Quad level cell and contains 4 bits per cell.
Samsung Qvo is such example.

In a similar fashion:

 🔹️TLC – Triple level cell & contains 3 bits per cell.   (Pretty fast with decent reliability & cost)
🔹️MLC – Multi level cell & contains 2 bits per cell   ( Super-fast and reliable but very costly )
🔹️SLC – Single level Cell & contains 1 bits per cell. (Super-fast and reliable but extremely costly)
 
However, with increased data density - the price per GB, write endurance, sustained read write speeds of the drive and the drive reliability goes down.
 
🔹️So in short, I would suggest to, go for a TLC Drive which is an optimum compromise between cost and reliability especially when you are going to install an OS on it.
 
🔹️Constant data rewrite would not affect its data and speed reliability in such case.
 
🔹️If it is to be used as a storage drive for general data , then you can surely go for a QLC drive like the Samsung QVO and others.
 
🔹️MLC & SLC drives are way too costly and impractical for normal users and are mostly meant for servers.

🔹️This is another important deciding factor, nowadays in the market many SSDs are coming without any of their own Dynamic RAM and utilise the system RAM to cut on the price margins but in the longer run, it suffers in speed and endurance especially while writing, hence, I would still suggest going for “with DRAM” SSDs.
 
🔹️Here, in crucial MX500 The DRAM cache is around 1 GB, unlike many other budget dram less drives.
 
🔆Crucial P1 , is one Dram less, QLC based drive and is surely a lower range option.

I read so many reviews on various sites about some of the fastest drives and found Samsung to definitely lead in most cases.

However in case of Sata SSDs, generally all drives have a range of around 500 MB per sec - some a few more & some a few less , so if you are confident about your brand , just go for it.

🤏 A slight variation of 30 to 40 MB per sec won’t make much of a difference.
 
🔹️Samsung EVO are good in speeds but are very costly in comparison.
 
🔹️Further to note is the SLC caching feature in drives, which again, by virtue of its single level architecture is very fast in read write operations.
 
♦️ I have an HP omen with core i7 8750H processor , Nvidia 1070 GTX graphics card & a 16 GB 2666 MHz RAM.

In multiple tests, with even fan on – it generally  gave a read write speed of 540 to 500 MB per sec which is similar to the advertised speed.
 
🔹️Faster speeds come in handy when playing games or high-resolution videos or doing some heavy video editing jobs.

I shortlisted the crucial MX500 after comparing and reading about a lot many drives and essential parameters and by far now, I am fully satisfied with its speed and temperature management.

It is very much comparable to Samsung drive & with its new micron 64-bit TLC controller and I do not see the need to spend any extra bucks just for brand reputation.

🤏For record, micron which is the parent company for crucial , is the designer of the onboard drive controller for a majority of other brands.

Super fast SSD. Earlier my old lenovo yoga laptop was taking more than 3 minutes for booting up. Now with crucial MX500 250GB it takes only 15 seconds. It is more reliable than Samsung EVO860. Comes with 5 years warranty. Cheapest DRAM SSD. What else needed.

Very competitive price against equals (like Samsung EVO 860).

Actual volume of MX500 500 GB disk turned out exactly same as WD 500 GB Blue, so cloning went like a breeze (booted up Ubuntu flashdrive and did "sudo dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/sdb status=progress". That's all!).

Everything was good except the packaging. It creates a doubt that it's a fresh product or a used one. Company should improve the packaging as the actual manufacturing cost is very less. They are making huge profit and providing bad packaging.

Well working fine in my Dell laptop. Performance improved a lot. Boot time is now around 10 seconds, previously it was talking 35-45 sec to boot and was laggy.

If you want to add ram to make ur system fast then first upgrade to SSD first. Otherwise adding ram makes no sense.

Working in macbook pro late 2012 model and not found any issue as such but when testing with speed test showing write speed is too low! Confused whether to return or not

I got the 240GB version; prior to ordering I cleaned up my disk such that I was using only about 57GB total of my 500GB HDD

I also downloaded the Acronis software that come with it from crucial.in/clone (the software will not work unless either you already have a Crucial HDD or some other disk in the system, or you attach the new SDD to the computer via USB)

Connected and tried to transfer: and ran into trouble immediately:

Acronis software refused to fit the data into the new (and smaller) SDD

Next thing: I opened disk-manager (part of windows 10) and tried to shrink the partitions - that reduced it by about 90GB, but that didn't help (Acronis didn't even do that on its own). Next I was on the internet - after about 30min searching figured out that unmovable files were behind the trouble. So disabled pagefile and hibernate, disabled logfile writings and a few other things: rebooted after that, ran disk-cleaner and defragmenter and then shruk the C partition again: fortunately overall shrunk size came down to some 200GB (rest remained unallocated on my HDD)

Used Acronis and cloned my disk into SSD: I was expecting ~40GB unallocated space, instead Acronis merged it with some recovery partition which is usually not accessible.

Replaced the HDD by SDD, booted up - it hesitated but then worked ! One caution: during initial cloning the C: on HDD showed as E: on SDD, once I replace the HDD by SDD and booted up, it showed as C: again.

I spent the next one hour creating a recovery disk and then deleting that recovery partition to free up the space from the disk.

Once everything done : created a restore point.

Then downloaded the Crucial Storage Executive software - went through the features including increasing the overprovisioning buffer; finally enabled Momentum Cache and that triggered a reboot - and then Windows detected some error and attempted automatic repair which failed. I went into recovery and used the restore point (thank God I had created it first thing after laptop started working).
Installed Storage Executive again - enabled Momentum Cache again - same shit happened

Bottomline: Momentum Cache doesn't work; on the internet a few forums say it uses some unsigned files so Windows rejects it, I don't know how to make it work.

Next-restored again and this time didn't try to enable Momentum Cache - I'm not sure it would hurt much in real loads: it can't do anything about reads, and large-writes are rare for me (and usually happen in the form of downloads - where the other bottlenecks are more problematic than write-speed of SDD). It could make a difference for random writes perhaps - but not working is a problem. Will try contacting Crucial support tomorrow and see what they say.

then ran benchmarks: Sequential Read/Writes are running nearly at 500MBps; 4k random reads near 20MBps, writes near 60MBps (I tried 16MiB loads) - corresponding sequential numbers on my HDD were 5x slower and random were over 10x slower.
All in all it is in similar league as other SDDs, the boot performance is much faster on my 2013 model (i3-4010u) Inspiron 15 3537 model - it is much more usable and I can push replacing this laptop another few years.

Overall- hardware is pretty good, software is crap

I used this to replace a 320GB HDD of my older Sony Vaio laptop. I didn't need much storage, but speed. And it has made the old laptop like lightening fast!!
I had lost interest in using the laptop, though it's a beautiful piece, due to speed problems. Instead I was using my new hp laptop mostly. After changing the drive, it totally revived my love for the Vaio. Now I can't look at the hp laptop, leaving this Vaio beauty!! ☺️
The cloning software for Crucial is also super easy, no trouble there in installation and cloning.
Great drive, value for money!

My MSI GE62 6QD loads up super fast now. Boot times and loading times are way down from before. Definitely worth the upgrade. Setup the ssd myself. Installed a fresh copy of windows. Did not use the cloning software as of yet. Definitely worth upgrading from an hdd to ssd. The performance is good now, but the coming few months will be crucial, no pun intended.

Product arrived damaged. One of the screws was so badly fitted, it was tilted and jutting out 2 mm, as if screwed *manually* and incorrectly! Seemed refurbished. I immediately asked for a return and replacement. The replacement is enroute, hopefully it is a good one.

Later update (after the replacement came, a few days later):
Product came well packed. SSD works great, its been 4 days and its working great, touchwood!

But I will retain the 1-star rating bcoz of the bad experience in the first place. I notice that the replacement part's packaging looked newer and better packed, and the product also looked untampered with. On the other hand, the former (damaged one) package had its seal broken if I recall right, there was a weird screw in the actual SSD jammed in as the picture shows, and the model/serial# label was bent/peeling a bit in one corner. All this despite the actual model# being identical in the former and the replacement SSDs. I suspect the former (damaged one) may have been a refurbished item. All the more reason for me to give a 1-star rating to Amazon for allowing this to happen!

The product is a little bit more expensive than the other brands, but I have used Crucial before and their products don't fail. I have used a Crucial MX500 on my MacBook Pro and used the same for my desktop also. Really fast and light thing.

The delivery was also before time. Overall a positive experience buying this product.

Though my system is only 2 years old, (win 10, i7, 8gb ram, 1 TB hdd) due to lot of applications installed system was responding very slow and lagging most of the time. So definitely I dint want to do a fresh installation as I dint want to install all those applications and OS again. Almost 90 % of my 1 TB harddisk was free.
I was skeptical about the hard disk upgrade including cloning as I was going to do all of these for the first time, including to learn how to open the laptop etc. I did some googling and got some idea about it. Also came across a free cloning software AOMEI Backupper, which worked perfectly at the first instance.

To my surprise it worked fine and now I have a super fast machine, without any need to reinstall any os/applications. Thank God.

I would recommend you to go for it without a second thought.

I purchased the MX500 a few months ago to replace my ASUS A541U's almost snaillike HGST 1 TB internal traditional hard drive.

Installation was fairly simple with the provided spacer guaranteeing a perfect fit with the hard drive bay. The only problems that I faced was ASUS's unnecessarily complex panel removal process. After installation, I checked my BIOS to find that the drive had been detected properly as an SSD. The installation was so simple, a person with a screwdriver and careful hands can do it in an hour or so.

I opted for a clean Windows 10 installation. The process took around 5-8 minutes which was quite shocking as it took 30 mins back when I had a regular hard drive. This was the start of many perfomance improvements that I noticed across the board. No longer was there any lag on opening the start menu and booting Windows was a mere matter of seconds. Copying to and fro from the SSD was almost instantaneous thanks to it's admirable R/W speeds, which if I'm not wrong are only second to Samsung's SATA SSD offering and that too by a small margin.

Overall I'm happy with this purchase and can recommend this to any person who's looking for their first SSD.

Also please don't opt for the cheap WD Green SSDs. Do yourself a favour and buy this one instead?

Amazing price. Installation was a breeze (it comes with two screws), and it's super fast. For productivity, SATA SSD will suffice, however, if you're doing beefier resource intensive tasks or gaming, NVMe SSD will be better for you. The 500gb fills up fast, so depending on the applications you install, you might want to get a bigger one. I'm using an 1TB crucial P1 nVme ssd as the boot drive & using this new one for application installs. Read-write speeds are really good.

I'm thinking of using this ssd in an enclosure with type c & use it as an external drive which can help me with quick transfer of data or work on the go.

Update: (week Later); I have added this ssd in a metal type enclosure by everpert which costed about Rs.950. Read-write speeds were good using a usb 3.1 cable.

Update: (8 months Later): Speeds were consistently stable 410-445 reads & 390-430 writes. observed a 2% speed boost after a recent firmware upgrade. i also ordered the 1tb ssd last week. will post the benchmarks soon.

Awesome value for money product. Much less price than the competition which is market leader. 5 years warranty is a peace of mind, however warranty claim process may not be hassle-free, have no experience yet. One downside, the package was worthless. A cheap earphone is better packed than this. However, came with a mounting bracket that will be useful for those who are going to replace a HDD in their laptop and does not have a bracket already.

Looks like the quality control is very poor with crucial. As many others reviewed here the product was dead on arrival and there is no refund policy as well , have given the product for RMA which will take around 15 days which is a waste of time. Its better to avoid products with no refund/replacement options.

Writing this review after 3 weeks usage, If you are some one who struggles with hard-disk then just go for this It will be the single best upgrade you can do on a laptop. I am software developer and I work with many software and files on almost times, My main bottle neck was the damn hard-disk which used to be in 100% usage all times. Now everything works like a charm, not even a single lag after the upgrade.

below are my experience
> Windows boots completely + get search result from chrome in less than 20 secs
> Windows shutdowns in 3-6 secs
> Witcher 3 open to main menu in 5 secs
> Normally stays in temperature of 40°C-45°C, on high usage like bench marking it hits 67°C - 74°C

If you are into complete cloning or C drive only cloning I recommend Macrium Reflect, It does the Job fine and its easy to use.,don't need to use Acronis true image as its recommended

Absolute value for money, got this SSD installed in place of DVD drive using a caddy, works with super speed. The 'Getting Ready' step in windows 10 installation takes about 10 minutes for my laptop with HDD. But with this mx500, it took less than 1 minute, the entire setup too just 5 to 6 minutes whereas with HDD it would take up to 30 minutes.
The lock screen would never load even enter key was hit once and had to press it twice after 10 seconds to loss login screen. But with mx500, it loaded on 1st enter hit and logging in took about a millisecond.
The laptop from pressing start button, logging in and fully loading apps would take 3 minutes with HDD, but with this SSD, it takes just 12 seconds for entire operation

As I was satisfied with ssd performance, I decided to get another one for my old PC. And as expected the ssd took my PC to the next level, giving a tremendous boost over previous performance. Thanks Amazon

Its cheapest value for money SSD with DRam included which adds to its speed and lifespan.
I ported my Windows 10 almost 2 years old installation to this SSD using Easeus Todo backup app and it now takes only max 35 seconds to fully start windows 10. Pretty fast compared to my old 7200 rpm hdd which took 5-6 min. Initially I was thinking of buying WD green or BX500 which are good with decent speeds but less durable and little bit slower than this one. MX500 is pretty close to samsung EVO series in performance but its not that much expensive. Also for ssd users, if you want to increase lifespan of your ssd then better turn off windows indexing service, windows hibernation, etc. SSD don't need this as it is already fast. Just google How to increase ssd lifespan

This Crucial drive is awesome. Let me make one thing clear. I have both Samsung EVO 860 and this crucial SSD. I can frankly say that this crucial is no match for the Samsung EVO 860. Samsung drives are a class apart. There is a significant difference between the prices of Samsung and this Crucial drive but it's more than worth it to pay for it. But if you can't afford or just don't want to buy the Samsung EVO 860 then you can absolutely go for this Crucial drive. 100% satisfaction guaranteed considering the price point.

Disk 100% issue solved. SSD done its work. Successfully installed in Lenovo ideapad 330 AMD A6 14inch.
and inserted Hard disk in fake DVD slot used as caddy.
But CPU 100% problem remains same.
Boot time faster than previous. 250GB is Good enough.

cons:
performance lags are still there due to AMD A6 processor.
working with Visual Studio , photoshop Applications is based on CPU usage only, SSD do nothing, no improvement happens. copy/move not fastens CPU usage. its waste to purchase if not a Correct CPU.

Process:
After Inserting SSD, and putting HDD in Caddy. Don't delete C drive in GPT HDD for the purpose of extending other drives using disk manager. it converts HDD Basic drive to Dynamic Drive. then data in Dynamic Drives cant be detected by Acronis true image or other softwares. Later issues happens like deleting single drive for recreation in HDD will deletes all drives in Total HDD without any warning messages. use Partition Recovery Softwares like Active Undelete to get deleted drives if it happens.
After Purchase, 48GB RAW with 180GB NTFS comes by default. delete all drives and recreate drives with Windows DVD and then install windows. after that can restore backups using Acronis true image. download Crucial Storage Executive software and use.

This SSD was to replace the existing HDD. After I cloned my HDD and set up computer to boot from the SSD, it kept giving boot error. The SSD would not get detected. Finally I had to replace it back with the old HDD and now the system is booting fine. I have returned this drive and hopeful to get refunded. Now I am not sure as to which SSD to go for.

Product delivered one day b4 due date. Installation was very easy, did a fresh installation of windows 10 and activated it. My system config is --
1. Intel core 2 quad Q9400
2. 4GB ddr2 ram
3. Gigabyte G31M ES2L mobo
4. 320GB WD Blue HDD
And now 240GB SSD.
5. 1GB AMD radeon graphics
Only thing is that my system has Sata 2 interface which is causing bottleneck for ssd. But I don't play games or do heavy tasks on my system so for me Sata2 is not a big deal. Till now didn't enabled momentum cache so can't say about that. I will do a speed test with and without momentum cache enabled and update my review again after some days of usage.

Update on 13/8/20.
Till now everything good but at first time I was little worried as the drive temps. reached apprx 66° during windows installation.
So crucial storage executive displayed warning about drive heating. Later found out ssds usually gets hot on continuous usage so install it in a place with proper ventilation and air flow.
Crucial website states if drive temps cross 70° then warrants gets void.
Now my drive usually gets upto max 62° but then cools down to 55-56° avg temp remains around 58°.
Regarding momentum cache I didnt notice any difference in daily usage but it works best with system with min 8GB RAM. As less data is written on ssd which increases ssd life.

THE SSD IS GOOD. VERY LIGHT AND QUITE FAST. WAS ABLE TO SWAP MY OLD HARD DRIVE WITH IT. HOWEVER THE CLONING SOFTWARE WHICH WERE SUPPOSED TO BE DOWNLOADED AND INSTALLED COULD NOT BE CARRIED OUT AS THE MANNER DESCRIBED BY CRUCIAL IS VERY CUMBERSOME. I WAS HOWEVER ABLE TO CLONE IT AS I HAD IT ALREADY INSTALLED OF MY OWN. CRUCIAL SHOULD MAKE THIS SIMPLE i.e SHOULD MAKE AVAILABE THE PASSWORD FOR ACRONIS ALOONG WITH SSD.

This is a great SSD, makes a difference even in older laptops. Made in Mexico. Comes with very detailed and clear, comprehensive guidelines on how to clone existing disk with operating system and just swap. Acronis - probably the best and most reliable cloning software in the world, comes bundled and free with the SSD (with only the relevant cloning functionality licensed). Additional software from Crucial to get the best out of the disk. Fantastic price and Amazon experience as usual.

Go for WD green. I have purchased 3 WD green ssd initially but then the price of crucial attracted me. I bought 4 ssd of crucial And i have noticed significant difference in performance of wd and crucial. WD green performance is much better. Trust me i have purchased so many ssd for my organization.
Also crucial says to download its ssd software for better performance and updates but when you do so it tells there are no updates available for this device. WD is just like install and see the magic.

I had purchased the BX500 240 GB variant a couple of months ago. Amazon delivered it reasonably quickly.

About the drive:
BX500 models have something known as SLC Caching, which Crucial calls "SLC Write Acceleration". What it basically means is that in the BX500 (and in several other budget and premium SSDs), there's a high-speed SLC cache and there's MLC/TLC (ignore these terms). This card has TLC, which is very slow. So if you are moving 20 GB data to a 240 GB variant of the BX500 SSD from let's say, another SSD, data transfer would be blazing fast for the first 16 GB (around 350-400 MB/s) and then it would slow down significantly (around 50-100 MB/s). For the 480 GB BX500, the SLC cache is of 32 GB, and it doubles with the next storage variants (64 GB SLC cache for 960 GB variant) as far as I know. Also, this SSD has a 3-year warranty and a fair endurance rating (check the product description on Crucial's website).

It's a must have product if you want to have a performance boost from your current laptop/PC. Application installation time reduces drastically and running Windows becomes much more pleasant.SSD not only improves upon HDD but in turn it's also more efficient and saves battery life. I/O write and read speeds can reach 100 MB/s. It has much more R/W operation cycle than HDD thus you can store important files without fear of getting it corrupted. It's also very lightweight this can reduce some unnecessary weight from old and heavyweight laptops. All in all it's a value for money product from Crucial and costs peanuts in terms of per GB storage compared to other brands. If you want a Samsung EVO series SSD but can't afford one then it's your best bet to get nearly same performance without costing same money.

Before purchasing the SSD make sure you know it's compatibility with your Laptop. It is a M.2 SATA SSD. Coming to its feature, despite with the humongous capacity of 500gb it cost way way less than the S*msung drive, only because of the brand hype because as far as the warranty goes it gives 5 years of warranty and the service centre is available at many location throughout India. Moreover the speed if compared do show some difference ( ranging from 10 to 30 Mbps) but whom are we kidding in the real world that speed difference can be obvlserved also. Moreover if you observe the Ram available in your laptop might already be a Crucial so just understand the trust value your laptop company has in this brand. I purchased it only because I saw the price difference it was being offered at vs the speed difference it was going to give. And honestly I am more than satisfied. My windows 10 boots up in less than 10 sec ( fully loaded). The installation is quite simple but make sure you are not violating your laptop's warranty.

This product is good but not so good by performanceand price 3179inr. May be it's my operating system issue as i am now using it with my mac book pro.
But i don't know why but after replacing this ssd with my MBP hdd MBP getting heated up more then before during hdd minimum was 35c and maximum was 76c but now minimum 56c and maximum 98c. Search for all type of solution to resolve heated issue but no benifit.

Replaced the HDD in my old imac with this and the system is better than new now, the drive is blazing fast and I get very high transfer rates. Cold boot times are in seconds. Replacing the drive is a bit of a challenge in the mac as the screen etc. has to be opened, but it's not complicated - just need to be a bit careful. I would've discarded the mac had this not worked, but the upgrade has given me a brand new machine.

Item is exactly as described by the seller. Total memory available is 480 GB. Working as expected. Don't know how to register for warranty online.Use Acronis, the dedicated cloning software for easy transfer from HDD.
But the packing was very very poor- No protection, just put it in a loose & thin plastic cover & dispatched. My 1st opinion was to give 3 stars. But the product is good, very fast shipping so the dealer may be trustworthy. One suggestion. Your packing must be improved. That's why 4 stars only.

It's really easy to install. The speed is really superfast, after installing this SSD the bootbtime of my pc has significantly improved. Earlier it was taking about few minutes but now it's booting & rebooting within few seconds (<10 sec). Alongwith this applications experience has also improved dramatically, earlier needed to wait for sometime after clicking any application to load, but it loads in ziffy now. Overall I really satisfied with this SSD, it gave new life to my 10 year old laptop, which I was planning to dump due to performance earlier. Now it's as smooth as new laptop.

My Laptop use to take 10 minutes to boot but after installing crucial mx 500 my boot time is 12 seconds now.

I also ordered a case for my older hard drive to use it as an external hdd. All less important Data such as Movies I kept in the old hdd and only important data I keep in laptop now.

I used Mini Partition tool (a freeware available online) to copy my OS along with all installed software and C drive data to ssd. Then swapped the older drive with newer one. It was very easy to install.

My laptop started with all the data of c drive. BOOT TIME WAS 12 second.

Absolute performance, but dont Momentum cache if you are running on desktop or laptop with unreliable battery. According to crucial , there is no read performance gain only write. And it collects a lot of writes in RAM and writes them to SSD when it gets chance. So in case of power failure it wont ger the chance to write to ssd , data will be lost. In case it was a OS data, windows might get corrupted.

I ordered Crucial BX500 240GB, but return it back because It was extremely light in weight, Just feel that a pen drive circuit is fitted in side the black cover. I realized the build up quality of product looks very cheap. Due to highly sensitive data cannot trust this drive. Its my personal opinion may be there is no issues with other but I do not suggest this product. Better to buy Segate.
Anyways, amazon quick delivery always wins heart of customers. Super fast delivered by ATS. (Amazon Transport Service). For that 5 Full stars.

I have a retro gaming desktop powered by Phenom II X4 965 and 16gb RAM, GTX 1660 super. I was using WD Blue 1TB as my primary drive, my pc use to take hell of time to turn on and launch csgo or any other games. Meanwhile I could make a tea and drink it but my pc would be still trying to find the location where the game is saved and trying to launch. I was about upgrade entire pc except gpu but I thought I would give a try on SSD to see if this helps my snail pc to perform any better. Damn! Crucial MX500 arrived and now I don't even have time sneak at mobile or make tea while my pc is getting ready for gaming. It hardly takes 15-20 seconds to boot and csgo 12-16sec, BF1 25-30sec, payback around 30-35 sec. (Its just for reference). check the images attached for speed difference between MX500 and WD BLUE 1TB.
I highly recommend this to someone who is looking to upgrade their old pc as well as modern pc. Hope this helps.

I still couldn't understand Amazon price mechanism.. i purchased it at 4500 under sbi 10% off scheme..within 4 hrs price was ramped to 7200/- and after 2 days it's 6500/-. Amazon are u fooling ur customers. Any way product is good. As per expectation performance. Can see a drastic change in performance. heating issue is less as hdd tend to heat a lot. any where around 5000/ it's a good buy.

Worth the price! It's the best upgrade for an old laptop or pc that's running slowly besides a decent processor and ram. An ssd is the simplest n quickest way to speed up an old laptop.

Got this one for about ₹1.8k and was totally worth it! I've installed the SSD as the boot drive in the main sata slot iny Laptop, and installed the HDD with a CD drive caddy! I got a major bump in speed of booting up and loading applications.

Only con is that there is no DRAM in built. Which may make the ssd slow over time basically, but at this price, can't expect too much.
Go for atleast 256gb variant if you're gonna load heavy software on the SSD itself. Or else, if you're gonna use it only for booting and have an addition HDD, 128gb is sufficient!

I had ordered 250gb Harddisk by the product I received was 128gb...very poor..!!! And the hard-disk wasn't working also ..!! The box and the sticker says 250gb but wen u connect it it's only 121gb ...don't trust crucial..!!!

Very high quality SSD, almost at the range of the Top tier Samsung EVO 870 SSDs.. Upgraded my old system (i5-2500K, 16GB RAM) system with this as the Boot drive. And oh boy, the machine have changed it's characteristics. Much faster to boot up or shut down, applications like Bridge/Photoshop opens up and runs much faster now. Overall, it has infused extra life to an aging system. I would suggest this SSD drive to anyone who is planning to upgrade from old HDD boot drives to SSD drives. Just go for it.

just for the sake of pre installed ms office I bought a dell laptop with AMD A6 processor, which was yet another mistake I did ... it was completely unusable, it used to take at least couple of minutes for each click to process. Almost dumped it, had idea to gift it someone in need.

But after looking into the option installing extra hdd using a caddy in place of dvd drive. I bought this and put it in place of primary hdd slot and moved normal / old hdd to optical bay with caddy. Now my laptop has come to live, become usable
