This ram brought my old Dell Dimension 2400 up to it's maximum allowed RAM.There seems to be a lot of disagreement out there about what the 2400 can handle, but for my machine, these chips fell right in and began working as if my machine came with them originally. (I bought the faster rated chips because of other upgrades I was about to make.)Of course I noticed some improvement in speed etc, but I had already been running with 1GB of slower RAM so I didn't expect much of a change.HOWEVER! After adding a new Pentium 4 CPU running at 3.06ghz, I noticed a HUGE improvement. I also added a new Monitor, "ASUS ML228H 22-Inch Ultra-Slim Widescreen LED Monitor," and with all that, my old Dell is amazing. I'm not a gamer, so playing the newest games isn't important to me, but video is. After all these changes, at the very least, I'm getting a rock-steady 30 fps at YouTube and Hulu. Smooth perfect video from this fossil machine is a sight to behold.In addition, I installed a; "Sparkle GeForce 8400GS 512 MB DDR3 PCI with Native HDMI Graphics Card SFPC84GS512U2LP." This GPU is amazing, it fits in my low-profile tower, works with the 2400s PCI slot, and makes a perfect upgrade for machines that are not "PCI Express ready." It also provides a DVI and HDMI connection which boggles the eye with my new LCD Monitor.Needless to say, adding all this capability, has increased the demands on my system, which was one of my main reasons for increasing my available RAM. The Invidia card can also share available RAM, which makes it more important still.I highly recommend these chips to anybody upgrading an old Dell 2400, or similar "old tech" machine.

This product increased the speed of my 8 year old computer considerably. I was going to buy a new desk top and now I do not need to, I do need to say this product was recomended by a friend who ordered it then installed it in less than 5 minutes. The only thing I contributed was having an Amazon account. which made it nice for my friend.

One of my older micro-ATX ASUS boards for the Athlon 64 x2 (2004/5) needed more memory. I assembled the hardware system from parts at the time and it uses a version of Fedora Core for the operating systems. This computer is used for modest batch processing of geophysical and satellite-derived data sets. The Corsair 2GB (2x1GB) DDR 400 MHz (PC 3200) Desktop Memory (VS2GBKIT400C3) works well with the hardware-software system and the processing performance is very acceptable.

Upgraded 2003 Dell Dimension 8300 which requires matched pairs of RAM. Works fine. Overall computer performance is slightly better as was the goal of the upgrade.

It's Corsair! Got this for my parents computer. It seems that 128mb or memory just isn't enough anymore. It all installed well and not flaws. It's like they got a brand new computer.

One of the two memory sticks failed intermittently. Purchased Corsair memory based on previous reviews. Paid more than competitor's product to ensure usefulness. Spent more time and effort to determine which of the two sticks were failing. End result was twice the price for one useful stick of memory. Next time will just buy the cheapest memory rather than expecting brand names to test memory.

Well I was hesitant about ordering this product because I had read so many reviews about how people had gotten bad memory chips but I had no choice but to take the chance due to limited funds and I must say it got here really quick and works perfectly. bought this ram to upgrade an old computer. windows 7 upgrade advisor said i needed two gigs of memory to install and i only had one. increased performance a bit at the same time arrived before the time given and in perfect condition. would recommend to anyone using ddr memory

Plugged these into a computer I was working on and immediately the machine went from barely usable to easily handling multiple internet browser windows, a media player, and a dip into the control panel and management functions without skipping a beat. I'm pretty sure before the computer was just thrashing itself mercilessly with XP running on only 128 megs of RAM. Sorry for the abuse, page files!

Put 3 modules into my computer and it crashes every time I do heavy processing. Asked for replacements and got free 2 day shipping on 3 more modules (great service). I've been trying various combinations of the 6 modules w/ Microsoft memory tester and always get errors. Dropped the memory speed down to 333 Mhz and they seem solid. So, I'll stick with that, but they are supposed to be 400 Mhz.

Received the order very quickly. The memory sticks were a replacement for a cheaper brand that were defective. These sticks are very good and will order more for my other computer when it is time for replacement.

Listed Timings: 3-3-3-8Actual Timings: 3-4-4-8As another reviewer stated (but apparently ignored and not addressed), the shipped product has 3-4-4-8 timings, slower than the listed 3-3-3-8 timings - this is crucial when adding this RAM into an existing system with 3-3-3-8 timings, as the motherboard chipset will use fallback/alternate (slower) RAM speeds for overall system synchronization and stability.Furthermore, this is one of 2 different memory products I recently purchased from Amazon whos actual timings dont match the advertised/listed timings (and in both cases, are of course, slower).I highly suggest that Amazon review their product verification/QA procedures for RAM (and or replace/retrain the personnel responsible for this department), if for no other reason then to avoid claims of deceptive advertising/practices, etc (not to mention reduce returns/negative customer experience ratings/overhead)

bought these memory cards for my older computer thinking it would speed it up a bit. spent half a day researching what the correct replacement memory cards would be and half a day reading reviews as to pick a reliable product. received memory card in a timely manner & installed them. started up computer and within minutes computer locks up. took these memory cards out reinstalled original cards and computer runs ok. so I tried the new memory cards again with the same result, a frozen computer. put the original cards back in and computer runs ok, slow but ok.so here I sit with my slow running computer with a lesson learned for $100.00, don't bother trying to improve an older computer, just save up a few more dollars an buy a new one.

If you are looking to upgrade your RAM, you will not regret going with this chip. I installed a pair of these memory chips in an older PC several months ago and they have functioned perfectly ever since. Why pay as much as twice the price for the same performance?

Purchased this as an upgrade for my HP computer with OEM memory of two 256MB sticks. I completely replaced the original sticks as I didn't want any compatibility issues, and getting to the memory sockets on my HP computer is not the easiest thing. I didn't want to do it more than once. After inserting the two sticks in place of the originals, I buttoned up everything, and the memory worked like a charm. I had previously downloaded the Corsair "Make Your USB Drive Bootable including MemTest 86" and I proceeded to follow those drections to create a bootable USB drive. After bringing up the computer with the new memory, it recognized it immediately and booted flawlessly. Then I went into the bios and changed the boot order to boot from my USB drive first. I rebooted and then ran MemTest86 for several hours. The new memory performed flawlessly with no errors. Several days later, everything is running fine, and I can tell how much faster the computer is since it doesn't have to page constantly to the page file when swapping programs. Everything now stays in ram, and the overall experience is much faster.

The specifications for this memory kit specifically states "2 X 1GB PC3200 400Mhz 184-pin Timing: 3-3-3-8".Instead, the memory that I received is has a performance configuration of 3-4-4-8.I've tried this memory on two motherboards, both configured to automatically set memory speed according to the on-chip SPD (part of the DIMM that stores the module's specifications to allow hardware auto-configuration). In both cases the same memory specifications were reported.I knew that by buying CAS3 memory instead of CAS2 or CAS2.5 that I'd be sacrificing some performance, but this "bait and switch" has left me with slow memory that I would not have ordered if the proper specifications had been listed.If all you need is a lot of RAM, then this is a reasonable solution to your needs.But if you expect performance, don't even think of buying this product.

I ordered this to beef up the memory in a NAS appliance. It was a great find on Amazon, inexpensive, and it shipped super-fast. I had it in less than a week. Installed smoothly and works great. Going from 512mb to 1gb in my NAS seems to have improved it's reliability if not the speed. I think the NAS is constrained by the 10/100 network more than anything else right now, but the Web UI for managing the NAS is much more responsive now, and I'm able to run a few utility applications that the NAS came with much more quickly than before.

It is just ok. There is really no difference between the RAM I replaced (Patriot) and the Corsair Memory. Actually the Patriot is a little stronger than the Corsair. The price for the Corsair is more affordable though.

replaced the oem 256 x 2 memory rams with these 2 1gb ram memories. Easy to installe and my dell dimension 3000 recogmized it on the power up and i was done. Computer is night and day . Its a must do for anyone

I was a bit weary buying this RAM based upon the reviews. When it arrived, the ram was poorly packed and sitting diagonally in the box.When I installed it, it worked just fine. I ran each stick through several RAM check programs and no errors resulted. My computer has a tremendous speed boost.It's not the fastest RAM as others have pointed out (timing is 3-4-4-8), but this a value product for a legacy computer,... so if it works without errors you should be satisfied.

Had this put into an old AMD Athlon 64 overclocked system. Works as expected and even overclocked almost to 10mhz extra. Don't be fooled by the non heat spreaders, these do perform well. Heat spreaders have also only been shown to provide average of extra 5% overclock over non heat spreaders. Decent price considering the market for these, got em at 80.

To install a memory in laptop is a little harder than a desktop, more screws to remove and slides in differently. If you don't have the experience to do this you might take to a shop and pay for installation. Once installed the memory was immediately recognized by the laptop and it functions faster and better than ever! This review involves running Windows XP Pro with a lot of resident programs firing up. It is my belief that McAfee Anti-Virus software has become a memory hog and now it actually finishes an update which used to hang before adding this memory and virtually stop all running programs. Use mostly Firefox for the internet but notice loading of pages are faster and can run chat where before at times it would hang. Upgraded from 512 to 2 gb which is max this machine would handle. Did a memory configuration test at Crucial which led me to buy this memory which is compatible. Good luck with your upgrade!

The Corsair Memory I purchased works great. It is compatible with my computer just like you said it would be. I love when things work the way they should. The price was reasonable and it arrived before they said it would. I would buy computer parts from Amazon again. They made it very easy.

The memory was terrible. It did not work in my machine! After it was installed my machine kept shutting down- a memory test showed the sticks were faulty.

I wanted stable memory and Corsair is it! Installed the memory without any problems. Computer recognized it immediately. Have been running it for over a month without any issues. I run a lot of programs and games on my computer and I can really tell the difference. For a small investment, memory is a good way to upgrade until you are ready for a new computer. Quick shipping from Amazon is always a plus!
