bought this ram to upgrade an old computer. windows 7 upgrade advisor said i needed two gigs of memory to install and i only had one. increased performance a bit at the same time arrived before the time given and in perfect condition. would recommend to anyone using ddr memory

Plugged these into a computer I was working on and immediately the machine went from barely usable to easily handling multiple internet browser windows, a media player, and a dip into the control panel and management functions without skipping a beat. I'm pretty sure before the computer was just thrashing itself mercilessly with XP running on only 128 megs of RAM. Sorry for the abuse, page files!

Put 3 modules into my computer and it crashes every time I do heavy processing. Asked for replacements and got free 2 day shipping on 3 more modules (great service). I've been trying various combinations of the 6 modules w/ Microsoft memory tester and always get errors. Dropped the memory speed down to 333 Mhz and they seem solid. So, I'll stick with that, but they are supposed to be 400 Mhz.

Received the order very quickly. The memory sticks were a replacement for a cheaper brand that were defective. These sticks are very good and will order more for my other computer when it is time for replacement.

Listed Timings: 3-3-3-8Actual Timings: 3-4-4-8As another reviewer stated (but apparently ignored and not addressed), the shipped product has 3-4-4-8 timings, slower than the listed 3-3-3-8 timings - this is crucial when adding this RAM into an existing system with 3-3-3-8 timings, as the motherboard chipset will use fallback/alternate (slower) RAM speeds for overall system synchronization and stability.Furthermore, this is one of 2 different memory products I recently purchased from Amazon whos actual timings dont match the advertised/listed timings (and in both cases, are of course, slower).I highly suggest that Amazon review their product verification/QA procedures for RAM (and or replace/retrain the personnel responsible for this department), if for no other reason then to avoid claims of deceptive advertising/practices, etc (not to mention reduce returns/negative customer experience ratings/overhead)

bought these memory cards for my older computer thinking it would speed it up a bit. spent half a day researching what the correct replacement memory cards would be and half a day reading reviews as to pick a reliable product. received memory card in a timely manner & installed them. started up computer and within minutes computer locks up. took these memory cards out reinstalled original cards and computer runs ok. so I tried the new memory cards again with the same result, a frozen computer. put the original cards back in and computer runs ok, slow but ok.so here I sit with my slow running computer with a lesson learned for $100.00, don't bother trying to improve an older computer, just save up a few more dollars an buy a new one.

If you are looking to upgrade your RAM, you will not regret going with this chip. I installed a pair of these memory chips in an older PC several months ago and they have functioned perfectly ever since. Why pay as much as twice the price for the same performance?

Purchased this as an upgrade for my HP computer with OEM memory of two 256MB sticks. I completely replaced the original sticks as I didn't want any compatibility issues, and getting to the memory sockets on my HP computer is not the easiest thing. I didn't want to do it more than once. After inserting the two sticks in place of the originals, I buttoned up everything, and the memory worked like a charm. I had previously downloaded the Corsair "Make Your USB Drive Bootable including MemTest 86" and I proceeded to follow those drections to create a bootable USB drive. After bringing up the computer with the new memory, it recognized it immediately and booted flawlessly. Then I went into the bios and changed the boot order to boot from my USB drive first. I rebooted and then ran MemTest86 for several hours. The new memory performed flawlessly with no errors. Several days later, everything is running fine, and I can tell how much faster the computer is since it doesn't have to page constantly to the page file when swapping programs. Everything now stays in ram, and the overall experience is much faster.

I have a very old desktop and was advised by an IT friend that new memory may be in order. But we discovered that the computer was just TOO old and rejected everything. So I got a new hard drive instead.

Arrived promptly, installed easily, and works fine.Added some zip to a seven year old Dell XPS Gen 2, and gave me an opportunity to clean out the chassis (cat hair gets everywhere).

The specifications for this memory kit specifically states "2 X 1GB PC3200 400Mhz 184-pin Timing: 3-3-3-8".Instead, the memory that I received is has a performance configuration of 3-4-4-8.I've tried this memory on two motherboards, both configured to automatically set memory speed according to the on-chip SPD (part of the DIMM that stores the module's specifications to allow hardware auto-configuration). In both cases the same memory specifications were reported.I knew that by buying CAS3 memory instead of CAS2 or CAS2.5 that I'd be sacrificing some performance, but this "bait and switch" has left me with slow memory that I would not have ordered if the proper specifications had been listed.If all you need is a lot of RAM, then this is a reasonable solution to your needs.But if you expect performance, don't even think of buying this product.

I ordered this to beef up the memory in a NAS appliance. It was a great find on Amazon, inexpensive, and it shipped super-fast. I had it in less than a week. Installed smoothly and works great. Going from 512mb to 1gb in my NAS seems to have improved it's reliability if not the speed. I think the NAS is constrained by the 10/100 network more than anything else right now, but the Web UI for managing the NAS is much more responsive now, and I'm able to run a few utility applications that the NAS came with much more quickly than before.

It arrived much earlier than expected, and does what you'd expect it to. It's more expensive than some of the newer technology, though, but for my computer, this is what I needed. I'm happy with it.

It is just ok. There is really no difference between the RAM I replaced (Patriot) and the Corsair Memory. Actually the Patriot is a little stronger than the Corsair. The price for the Corsair is more affordable though.

replaced the oem 256 x 2 memory rams with these 2 1gb ram memories. Easy to installe and my dell dimension 3000 recogmized it on the power up and i was done. Computer is night and day . Its a must do for anyone

I was a bit weary buying this RAM based upon the reviews. When it arrived, the ram was poorly packed and sitting diagonally in the box.When I installed it, it worked just fine. I ran each stick through several RAM check programs and no errors resulted. My computer has a tremendous speed boost.It's not the fastest RAM as others have pointed out (timing is 3-4-4-8), but this a value product for a legacy computer,... so if it works without errors you should be satisfied.

Had this put into an old AMD Athlon 64 overclocked system. Works as expected and even overclocked almost to 10mhz extra. Don't be fooled by the non heat spreaders, these do perform well. Heat spreaders have also only been shown to provide average of extra 5% overclock over non heat spreaders. Decent price considering the market for these, got em at 80.

This memory was approved by ASUS my motherboard and i have used one before. Installing these two worked as well as the first. Stable and reliable.
