The pre-installed fans work great, you have 3 in the front sucking in air and 1 in the back pushing air out. Keeping my case cool, my current set up with a i5 9600k and gtx 1070, the case is around 30-35C inside average under use
The filters are amazing, well thought, maybe not the best, highest quality, but for this money, I am well happy with them. The top is magnetic, clever thought. The bottom is a tad fiddly to put back on, however not difficult. Definitely makes cleaning easier. The front looks fantastic, and you have an additional 2 USB3 ports there.
The side window is not tampered glass but acrylic, so it can get damaged easily, but only if you are a clumsy monkey. It looks great, darkened as well so the inside bit is still visible, however creates an expensive look.
Overall, I am happy with the design and quality and would recommend to those wanting to spend less than £100 on a case.
For this price you get a tinted tempered glass side panel, 3 RGB fans and enough space for an ATX build.
The RGB fans do not have super detailed functionality, but they have several different color switch modes and settings to choose from, making them the perfect 'babies first RGB set' to play around with. (another pro to the RGB is they dont need any software, just wire them to the reset switch and select the mode you like)
Pros:
-Great and rigid construction. No cheap non-reusable PCIE slots here.
-Excellent looks, not a solid box shape
-Big enough to house ATX but still very compact in its size
-Easy to work in
Cons:
-No front panel dust filter
-Has a top dust filter but its basically wasted because no fans use it by default (I configured my case to have fans there)
-Thermals can get a bit on the hot side when under load
-Default fans can get loud when under load
-For looks, the indent where the tempered glass side panel is not big enough, so it sticks out ever so slightly outside of the case (biggest con from a visual perspective)
-Reset switch cannot be clicked with your fingers. You have to use some tiny tool like a quetip or a toothpick to click it.
-Front fans need to be positioned on the mesh, otherwise the fans are choked.
In conclusion this is that this case is an incredible deal for all the features it provides. For the price you get so much (RGB, TG sidepanel, solid build quality). Ofcourse this case is not perfect. As mentioned above its provided default cooling options leave it lacking in a technical aspect, and my biggest gripe with it is the fact that the indent for the sidepanel is not big enough, so the glass sticks out like a sore thumb. If that wasnt a problem, this would be the best case on the market for me, but no case is without its flaws after all. I think that even with all of the cons, this is still a great case and as mentioned, I am very satisfied with it and would reccommend it whole heartedly to anyone.
Good job Cooler Master! A spectacular visually appealing case!
The front of the case has enough gaps with mesh dust filters to allow good intake of air, and 1 rear fan ensures air flow over all the components, and also at stock you have positive air pressure that is good for keeping the dust out of the system.
The RGB can be controlled by the included controller that you can link to the Reset Switch and that will change the RGB Mode, or if your motherboard has an RGB header, you can link to this.
Plenty of room to work inside. Cable management is easy to get right.
This doesn't have some of the problems that other "budget" cases have. No sharp edges, the rivets are painted black, it's a tempered glass side not acrylic.
I will list the corners cut that a more expensive case would have - the holes to manage cables do not have rubber flaps, the lack of front USB type C and the "not quite as sturdy" feeling plastic of the front of the case - but I don't think these warrant losing my 5 star review as you can't get anywhere close to this price with a known established branded case with 3 RGB fans and 1 exhaust fan
It has sufficient space for cable management and the RGB lighting is also nice to have, if you are looking for fully addressable 5v 3pin RGB then go with the MasterBox MB530P.
All in all there's not a whole lot wrong with this case except maybe the top fan at the front is suffocated due to the design and there's not a whole lot of room for an aio at the top my ML240L cooler was maybe 2mm too big (it was the ram that stopped it) these things don't exactly ruin the product but worth noting
Because everything is so narrow, I clipped the rear pre-installed fan power lead when slotting in motherboard and am having to replace it. The pre-installed RGB fans come with RGB and power lead splitters, allowing you to channel the fans into a single rgb port on motherboard. Also, because of the front mounting of the CPU cooler block, there is no room to mount the front facing SSD's - there are two slide in slots at the back but they are hard to access with all the cable management in the way.
PROS:
* Looks great
* Very sturdy and light - no flex whatsoever
* Relatively easy to remove tempered glass panel
* Feet a rubberised in a good way
* Power button is nice and clicky with little travel and is lighted
* Plenty of room for large PSU
* Plenty of room for large graphics cards
* It's compact - also a con
* Magnetic dust filter on top, dust filter mesh for bottom PSU fan
* Good cable management with plenty of openings to tuck everything neatly away
* Included fans are quiet
* Very good value for money
* Thumb screws for PSU mount
CONS:
* It's compact
* Motherboard is a tight fit
* Tempered glass doesn't quite "fit" - bit of an overlap thickness wise and at the back
* You can only mount 240 mm radiator block at the front
* No dust fan at the front
* Font 2.5 inch mounting bay is in a bad position
* Rear 2 x disk bays are in a bad position - subjective
All in all, I'm happy with the purchase and with the way it looks. Would recommend but keep in mind it can get fiddly.
After some research i edited the review and gave it 5 stars instead of 3. The case is great but front fans MUST be connected to motherboard fan headers otherwise they spin with max speed and makes awful noise.
Still the fan on the back is very noisy even connected to motherboard fan header. Had to replace it.
MB520
- Well built
- Great quality
- Pretty strong case
- 3 RGB fans in the front
- 1 normal fan at the back.
- Dust protection on top & beneath the case.
- Case has plenty of room inside
- Separate space for PSU
- 2 HDDs can be housed in two compartments adjacent to it.
- Case came with all the necessary screws
- Case provides good air circulation.
- RGB of of the three fans can be controlled using the controller they provided with the case.
- Used this case for my MSI x570 mpg gaming carbon pro Wi-Fi motherboard and so far temperatures have been around 30 to 60'c
- Tempered glass is of good quality.
Everything is great about this case. The only problem I faced was with the Standoffs. They don't come fixed. It's understandable. I struggled because I didn't have proper tool to fix them. So if you have the necessary tool then everything else will be a cake walk.
This is an outstanding case. It's beautiful & strong. I am so glad I chose this over others. Pretty happy with the purchase. I would definitely recommend this to everyone. If your motherboard is compatible then just go for it.
Dispite that, it is a good case and hopefully i'll keep it for a long time.
Over all this case is perfect for me as it if the width fits the graphics card and cooling and has gone out of its way to maximise dust and wire control.
Cut outs only suitable for 120mm fans, tjeybrestrict the 140mm air flow.
Looks good though and not for this issue mayb have kept it
think case maker not seller
And the tower i got was blue through was black
Seller very thought full wanting to know if it had reached me
Lots of cabling tie off points, easy to do a tidy job.
Points positifs :
Very good cooling system with 3 big fans .
- Not much backside space for power cabling.
