Плохо
- + Простота и удобство в настройке. Возможность создания двух независимых Wi-Fi сетей с ограничениями пропускной способности каждой.
- - Слишком большая и относительно тяжелая, две внешние антенны торчащие как рога. Неудобное крепление к стене, есть некая урезанность в настройках для аппарата такой ценовой категории.
Точка доступа полное разочарование, после полугода использования по видимому сломался один из Wi-Fi модулей. После чего одна сеть постоянно отваливается (в смысле сид сети периодически исчезает и появляется), один раз точка зависала за все время работы. В общем...

I first jumped on this back in March of 2012. It's fast, and is loaded with "business" features. I was hoping that Cisco was trying to make a pared-down Aironet at a reasonably inexpensive entry-level price for small business that *wasn't* based on a prior Linksys product. And if you look at the management interface (which is pleasant in itself), there are *tons* of great features included.But the firmware is still iffy. I know many people have had problems with -N (I have not) - however, I've had lots of problems with broadcast traffic. I have one at home and at the office; the home version works (mostly) but occasionally just drops access to AirPlay on our Apple TV as well as access to our Sonos wireless music system. I have an old D-Link connected as well - and while it's slower, it is reliable. Rebooting the WAP121 tends to fix these issues for a few days.We had multiple issues with the office unit dropping connections to iOS devices until a firmware update that finally arrived in early Summer, 2012.There's a November version of the firmware which seemed to help a bit with the broadcast traffic at home, but overall I don't think this product is fully baked. I am going to steer clear of consumer-grade or low-end Cisco hardware for a while (and tell our clients the same) - as they don't seem to devote the resources needed to those products to get them working perfectly.(FYI, I run an IT management firm.)

I have two WAP121 upgraded to the latest FW 1.0,2,3. I am using a Cisco RV4000 Gateway/Router with Comcast internet service. This has worked great for the last 5 years. That is until I decided to upgrade to 802.11 N with Cisco WAP121. Using WAP121 I get an internet download speed around 0,2 - 0.2 Mbit/s and upload speed around 6 Mbit/s. If I connect directly with Ethernet I get 25 Mbit/s down and 6 Mbit/s up. If I download my files from my local server using WAP121 I get 50 - 60 Mbit/s download speed without any problem. After browsing internet I found a solution I found the advice to turn off 802.11 N. With that I get 15 Mbit/S down and 6 Mbit/s up. My setup works fine with my old b/g AP's. It works fine 5Ghz 802.11N AP's. So why is WAP121 not working?Other than this WAP121 works great. The Single Point Setup - Multiple SSID's that can have different VLAN's and different security etc. It is all very useful if you don't need a 802.11N AP that is.I can't help but feeling disappointed that Cisco is releasing a product where the main feature simply don't work. For me the conclusion is that if you are interested in an Wireless - N AP you should look elsewhere until Cisco have fixed this problem.

I was excited to recieve this product as it had all th features I was looking for with Wireless-N, PoE, and multiple SSID support.My high expectation were quickly brought back to reality when I tried to implement this AP. Initially everything seemed to be working great, and then I tried to access the internet. When loading web pages load times were extremely slow. I ran a couple of different speedtest sites and these all showed download speeds of 1 Mbps or less, while uploads were hitting my ISP's max at 5 Mbps. As this is a newer product from Cisco there was not much information available out there, but found that if the radio was switched to b/g only, and disabled N speeds everything worked fine.The below forum has been active since May with no answers from Cisco on what is causing this issue.[...]While there was a firmware update released at the end of August, it does not resolve any of the Wireless-N issues.Don't buy this product if you are looking for a good Wireless-N AP. The B/G access works good though, and there are some decent features otherwise. I'm considering returning this product at this point as Wireless-N is mandatory for me.

I called Cisco/Linksys tech support. Someone told me I had called the wrong number. I called the new number and got someone who said none of the right tech support people had been available, so I had been routed to the wrong place but some of the right ones were now available so I should call back. I did call back and got someone who said I was still at the wrong place but she would put me through to the right place. I waited on line for 8 minutes, being assured that an engineer would be with me. But then the line went dead. I called back again, waited 8 minutes, the line went dead. I called back again and asked for a supervisor, but after being on hold for 10 minutes, I hung up. Then I bought Netgear equipment, called tech support, was put through right away to a very helpful person.

Rolled this out to replace an aging access point. Straightforward setup, though I did have to put it on a 192.168.x.x/16 network to access the config page... that's to be expected for a small business/consumer AP, though.Lots of mounting options, good range for 802.11g, and PoE for under a hundred bucks. Meshed it with a few others, all working fine. No complaints whatsoever.

Setup was tricky because the router's default settings assumes that one's network is running 192.168.1.x. Once I created a network with that morrored those settings, it worked fine. Then I switched the default to "scan network," and the device picked up my netowrk and worked great afterwards. All good.

If I had to guess I would say there was some kind of manufacturing defect with this model. I'm a network technician and I ignored that people said they didn't work. I just figured the people probably didn't know how to configure the access points. Well, I just bought 2 and both have extremely slow download speeds. I updated firmware, tried turning off security and running them with all default settings. I finally gave up and called Cisco and talked with 2 separate techs. Both said they saw other open cases with this model, but there was never any resolution. Basically, they told me to send them back. Cisco is known for networking so they know what they are doing, that is why I say there must be something wrong internally with the antenna or something like that. I'm going to send them back and try the WAP321 and see if it works any better.

I bought this for our new office to use in a central location near the ceiling. My IT guys liked the fact that it was PoE (Power over Ethernet) so with the right PoE port on our Cisco ASA505 router, it would not need to be plugged into an outlet. I have found the wireless to be unusably slow. Email times out, and internet pages barely pull up after a couple minutes. I've adjusted some of the settings, and it could be that I just don't have it configured correctly or that it needs new firmware. However if that is the case, this is definitely not an intuitive router and it does not work well out of the box. We originally assigned a static IP, and I've tried DHCP as well in addition to changing the channels in case of neighborly traffic. We needed the wireless up, so we've put in a Netgear N600 and it works great out of the box. Here's a link on the Cisco support forum with other people having the same issue:[...].

Arrived on time and as described, Configure once, let it run. Behaves well with our matching Cisco Wireless G. I expect it to run for a long time.

Not sure why people are having problems, I used 2 AP's and set them up using PoE off a Cisco Small Business switch at home.Download speeds are fine, and I like the range of these things.Obviously you need to do some tuning with placement, and channel choice.I do have my connection drop/re-establish when I wander from one coverage area to another but it's not a big deal since I use this at home.For an actual business I would not use these, perhaps the dual-radio one...but better to do it right with a wireless controller etc..

We have around 300 of these and since some are starting to fail I purchased spares. They are easy to setup, work well and the shipping came in on time as promised. I have no complaints about my purchase so it deserves 5 stars.

Good performance for a small office. So far the connection has dropped only 1 after a couple of months of usage, dont know if it's the AP or the power injector I'm using.

I want to use this small business AP to replace the wrt54gl for our company. My goal: let it work as an access point for 20 users reliably. It constantly stop wireless connection while my wrt54gl works well. There are more users on wrt54gl than this wap2000 when it stopped working. I even webexed with a Cisco tech support guy. He did not give me the explanation for why the AP stop working but give me some seemingly irrelevant advises as not use WEP, not use the mix mode but G only etc. (None of those should cause a AP to stop connection by merely 5 to 10 connections). I actually tried two units just in case the first one is a bad apple. I will return the second one as well and continue to use WRT54GL, configured as an AP limiting to max 20 users.

Haven't been able to test this producted yet. The product features clearly states that the external power can come from the "included adapter." I couldn't figure out why my iPhone wouldn't connect to this AP unless it was wired into my network.Apparently it can't act as a DHCP server, so it's only good for expanding an existing network.You can't make it the sole wireless AP (router) on a network.This probably won't concern most people, but it's a show-stopper for me.Darn waste of $140. I can't beleive they couldn't fit this feature in the software.Phil

I use it to broaden wireless coverage at my house. The price is not expensive. Its performance and reliability is impressive. I am satisfied with this tiny AP. Good Design cater to my needs.

I chose this Access Point instead of replacing my non-wireless router so that I could install wireless without messing around with my existing router settings. Big mistake. Yes, I received a wireless signal instantly, but gaining access to the administrative interface proved much more difficult because the IPs do not set automatically. The instructions are, of course, worse than useless. There are pictures and detailed explanations on how to insert the power adapter into the back of the machine or attach the machine to a wall (duh!) but absolutely nothing on the really critical issue of troubleshooting interface problems. Nada. The web, of course, has some useful information that can help but it wasn't enough to solve the problem. I spoke to an IT professional who has a good understanding of IPs and we worked through the problem only to discover that there was an additional conflict with my Gateway PC that also needed to be addressed. At this point I took the pragmatic approach and returned the Access Point to Amazon. I switched from cable to FIOS, with a free wireless/ LAN router. That has worked fine.

Do a google search "wap12 slow speed" before you buy and be warned. Do not buy and get caught up Cisco support merry-go-round. Support has been no help. I am an IT manager and have such a bad taste over this product I will not be buying any more Cisco products in the future.

This product is an AP so it works differently then Router. If you don't know how a AP works you might not be able to set it up sucessfully. However, once you sent it up, it is a good AP.
