Impeccable printing but expensive ink
I've had this printer for just over 2 years now.
I cannot fault the printing quality - it prints absolutely beautiful, even on cheaper semi-gloss paper. Even when you have supposedly completely run out of ink it prints amazingly. However, the wireless function has never worked for me, I follow all the steps but I just cannot connect it to my computer that way. Also, the ink is (in my opinion) very expensive. On amazon it's around £80-90 to replace the ink, and I have to replace the ink once a year, even with minimal printing. I probably only print around 15 to 20 full colour A4 sheets a year, and I can only imagine that the rest of the ink is being wasted in the cartridge.

Wireless printing
Although I bought this printer elsewhere, I just wanted to write a review because I figured some out some details to do with wirelessly printing.
The printer prints absolutely beautifully and I was able to set it up via USB connection quickly and easily.
I spent a whole evening trying to figure out how to set up the wireless printing. I tried changing some settings on my router but I didn't get anywhere and the printer would not connect after hours of trying.
However, I installed the 'Canon inkjet/SELPHY' app on my phone and connected through that via direct connect. (You will still have to press the wireless button until the power button flashes twice) This option seems to connect the printer manually to your wireless network. Then I went through the driver process on my mac to set up the wireless printing function and it managed to find the printer super quickly. I did a print test. It does work. This may or may not be the solution to the wireless but I thought I'd share the information anyway.

Exceptional print quality!
Arriver earlier than expected. Setting it up if quite easy, no fuzz. Print quality is exceptional! I am learning to color calibrating/matching as what you see on the screen is not by default what is printed out. I use an HP Z27 Display HD, with Photoshop running WIN 7 enterprise. Much to learn about color reproduction yet, and I can wait to get the printer's full potential.

Great for photos, nothing else. Amazon customer service excellent!
Excellent for printing photographs but nothing else! Test print on regular paper was dreadful with the black looking grey. Printing on card (300 gsm), which is what we bought it for, was dismal! The colour printed perfectly but the black was washed out and smeary. We had phoned Canon customer services before buying to check that this printer could print on card. It pulls the card in perfectly but no matter what print setting you use either in the printer's settings or through PhotoShop, nothing worked. The black was of a terrible quality. Our old Canon Pixma MP495 printers print perfectly on card but they are getting old and require manually feeding the card in one at a time, hence us trying out the Pro 100S. So to sum up: Excellent for photos. Great customer service from Amazon. Terribly disappointed that such an expensive printer can't even print on regular paper or card when a cheaper version by the same manufacturer can.

Print quality at an affordable rate.
I had an Epson R1900 and that was considered the best, so good it's replacement kept the same internals. This printer out does it in every department so far. I print family stuff in all sizes, A4 for hobby and intrest subjects, and A3 for projects so a versitile printer is a necessity! Unless my photography has improved, it must be the quality of the printer. I have yet to replace the inks for the first time, but the one's supplied as starter inks are holding up well. (Nine x A3, 6 x A4, and an assortment of small sizes, and still going!) This is a recommended enthusiast printer.

Very Dissapointed. The photos printed with lines running through them, realigned the head did test prints cleaned the nozzles and still the lines. Contacted Canon who said clean it 3 times it will be fine but still the lines were there. I really wanted this printer to work as a previous Canon did the same thing it was returned to Canon who said nothing was wrong but again the lines were there. It was also returned. If Canon think having lines running through photos is normal they must be very strange.
I am returning this and am buying an Epsom. No more Canons for me

Top printing - but huge!
I have always used Canon printers and I was very interested to try something a bit modern - my current MP600R is about 7 years old and still going strong (it was one of the first multi function wireless printers) but it doesn't have the latest connectivity. The ability to print A3 was also really useful.
First impressions: the alarm bells do start to ring a bit when you see a large sticker saying lifting the printer requires 2 people. They are not wrong, it is a 2 man job! When you open the box you see there is not too much padding, the Pro-100S is massive and fills most of the monster box, I had to pretty much redesign my study to fit it somewhere! This is my first heads-up warning: you will need a LOT of space. Even with the paper flaps down it measures a pretty massive 69 wide by 39cm deep (and 22cm high). However, when you open the paper flaps fully for A3 you need a depth of 84cm which is an incredible footprint for a printer (for A4 it only needs 58cm, but still a fair bit more than the MP600R). Of course given the printer is wireless there is no need to have it attached to a desktop PC/Mac and so you could place it somewhere less accessible and noticeable (my wife suggested under the stairs!).
Build quality: usual Cannon standard, although a lot of plastic bits which for the money I thought could have been metal.
Setup: piecing the printer together was pretty foolproof if you just follow the instructions to the letter (I would say give yourself an hour including installing software). Pre the software, it does take a little while to initialise the 8 (yes - 8) printer cartridges. The software installation was pretty frustrating, eventually I gave in with the wireless installation and connected up via USB (you can remove the cable once the installation is complete). This worked perfectly and straight away I could test print wirelessly from my ageing iMacs (remember to set the Pro-110S as the default if you have other printers) and, much to my amazement and delight, directly from my iPad and iPhone via Airprint. The ability to print from iOS is brilliant and saves the usual need to email to a desktop machine first.
Printing: without a doubt the print quality is amazing, I thought the MP600R was excellent but the prints from the Pro-100S are exceptional. I have printed photos on 6x4 photo paper and up to A4 and the results are flawless (borderless, of course). I really can't fault in any way, although the cost per print for larger sizes must be quite steep and so I will use A4 and A3 printing largely for documents (I find online services work out a lot cheaper for multi large prints if you are ok to wait). A3 printing for posters is great, it is nice to use single sheets rather than sticking 2 sheets of A4 together. So with that in mind you need to work out how essential A3 paper is to you and whether the printer footprint is an acceptable trade off. You do get a CD printer attachment, which seems a bit retro but some people may find it useful.
Scanning/copying: I have to admit being used to great copying and scanning with the MP600R I was looking forward to trying this and then...... of course the Pro-100S isn't a multifunction device, much to my family's amazement ("What do you mean it doesn't photocopy?"). So bear this in mind, I will keep the MP600R around for this purpose.
Final thoughts: if you can get over the fact that the printer is huge, the Pro-100S gives you an excellent, pro quality printer with the ability to print photos up to A3. For the money (and it is not cheap) you are getting a very, very capable device. Lack of scan bed is a minor issue but if this is a deal breaker you'll need to look elsewhere.
UPDATE 23 April: I have knocked the printer to 5 stars, I am finding it unbelievably slow and have set up my old MP600R too, both for scanning/copying and when I need something quick. It is still a good printer but the slowness of print for even a page of A4 black text means I can't give it 5 stars.
UPDATE 27 April: Just realised it prints on thick A3+ paper - the results are amazing, so the star goes back. If you are not fussed with ultra speed with A4 then this is a great printer for photos and big prints. The MP600R is used for the everyday stuff.
Recommended.

Huge - and hugely impressive - wireless printer!
First impressions... this thing is HUGE!!! The box very clearly states it is a two person job to move this printer and although one person can lift it, it certainly is advisable to work in a pair if possible.
Once you find a place where this can sit you'll find it is incredibly easy to set up and because it works on a wireless connection you don't need to leave it right next to your computer.
The print quality you'll be pleased to hear is stunning and certainly well worth the money! The ability to print on thick high-quality A3 paper is definitely a bonus too!

Behemoth professional printer
This is the first printer I've owned since my Epson Stylus ended up in the wheelie bin years ago. It's gigantic, and an imposing piece of office furniture. On a narrow table, it looks exactly like the ED-209 from RoboCop. The array of eight ink cartridges look amazing too, glowing ominously under the hood. The photo print quality (with the supplied glossy photo paper) is incredible, and I look forward to experimenting with other mediums. Set up was fairly straightforward. It seemed to take a few attempts to get it wirelessly connected via my router, but it's totally stable now.

Massive in size and quality
I knew this A3 printer was going to have a large footprint, I was unprepared for just how heavy it is. Do you even lift? You'll need to when this thing is left on your doorstep and you attempt to carry it in. It's a heavy fella. I didn't even spot the notice about it requiring '2 people to lift' until seeing another review here. Oh well, that just makes me feel better about doing it all myself. And, yes, I did carry upstairs it in its box. And, no, I'm not a weightlifter. You'll be grateful that the inner bag it comes in is strong and has handles to lift the beast out of its box.
That will not be your final chore. The Pro-100S is bursting with impressive features. With great features comes great effort to set everything up and have it chatting with your computer, particularly a Mac as there is no installation software for it included on the CD in the box. If you're a Mac owner, you will need to exhibit patience and navigation skills of the Canon website. Even if you're a PC owner, it could be a while before you're out of the WiFi woods. And even after that my first handful of attempted prints outs were all met with a new error message, some easy to rectify, others momentarily leading me to believe my printer was a dud.
But then, as the beads of sweat dry from your brow and your first photograph starts to make its way out of this titan, you feel an overwhelming sense of reward. Well, I did as photos of a professional standard began to fill my room. I tried the CD tray as well. Sublime results. In terms of speed, not magically fast but perfectly adequate and quality takes time.
There will always be a downside with any printer of this stature. Cost. The ink is sooo expensive. I've bought cheap 'bootleg' ink for Canon printers in the past which ended up ruining the printer entirely. But it's not like the best ink is cheap for any printer and you will want the best to maintain the best results for this. Then comes the issue of it being an all-use printer. It seems almost criminal to waste valuable ink on everyday printouts. This for me means a need for two printers in the room - and with this one being as large as it is, that's regrettable...
Before it came I was worried there would be another problem with regards to having to load A3 paper from 'the rear', making for an even huger footprint. In reality this doesn't require much more space at all. You might want to allow for an extra 12cm or so on top of the printer's dimensions.
But on performance quality alone, absolutely recommended.

Wonderful quality.
This is a very very good printer. With a couple of small points that are worth noting. So lets get the negatives out of the way.
The installation is less than smooth...a CD is provided, but you are expected not to use it, rather using on-line prompts. This is long-winded especially as the WPS feature wouldn't work and so I had to do the manual wifi set up (not all encryption taken). A silly bit of confusion was my fault...the names for the two feeder trays are not logical to me & I was putting my test paper into the wrong slot - so please note you don't use the rear slot, but the one on the top that unflips about 3 times to find the feeder. There is a sticker on one side with the inks labelled - this is not the order the inks go in...the print head is labelled so follow that guide instead. Also not all paper sizes and types are supported...for example having purchased A4 canvas from a local shop to test this unit I discovered that A4 canvas is not supported rather something called A4 30 canvas which essentially makes your widescreen A4 image 'old skool' with strips down the side. The software that is installed is very resource heavy, constantly freezing and prompting to check for problems...scrolling through my catalogued images just doesn't work...However I have found that to do edge to edge printing I do need to use the Canon software.
Now while all that sounds like a moan...it really isn't, it's suggestions of what you need to work around, because at the end of the day this produces so stunning prints! This is not a home user machine - you need to take time to get know the types of paper and pictures and sizes that give best results, but it's brilliant! Our first image was sharp and clear and wonderful. We will be making our own photo gifts now as so many formats are supported.
So this is great for a small business producing either photos or glossy pamphlets using the skills in house for presentation.

Buscaba una muy buena impresora para fotografías. Este es el modelo que más me ha gustado, acorde a mi presupuesto.
Calidad asombrosa, tanto en color como en B&N. Múltiples formatos de papel y configuraciones. La gestión de color la hace de forma genial y muy exacta mediante el plugin para Lightroom.

Livrée avec une prise d'alimentation de style américaine, non conforme au modèle européen et un CD d'installation uniquement pour PC Windows.
Possédant un MAC, on trouve facilement le programme d'installation sur le site de CANON.
Installation facile, et première impression couleur et noir & blanc de très bonne qualité.

Yes I like it but double side printing is quite tough and the driver doesn't have double sided printing option which many others have.

Awesome product for home and small office work...
Great printer with USB connectivity. Even able to send prints via mobile too... Value for money... Yes, print speed is little low but is well...
