Photo Printing at its Finest!
Only had this up and running for a few days but thought I'd write about initial impressions. I'll update this review in time should anything change. So, first impressions. As everyone says, it's big, comes in a big box and is pretty heavy. I guess this is to keep it stable during printing, but not sure why it has to be so big, other brands do the same job with a smaller footprint. Set up is very easy with clear instructions. Connecting wirelessly took a few attempts as the online instructions aren't that clear - thankfully the step by step guide is. Basically, press the wireless button until both it and the status light flash, then press the WPS button on your router. My mistake was not to wait until the status light flashed. Head alignment was easy and took only a few minutes. I was then ready to print after what seemed a very short time indeed.
Although it comes with some sample papers to print on, I'd taken the initiative to purchase various paper sizes and downloaded the ICC profile provided by the paper company (British company beginning with Foto ending in speed). Although they provide a free bespoke service to get a profile correct for your set up, I have to say their generic profile has enabled me to print photos that look just like I see them on the screen. A couple have been a touch darker and warmer, when I printed from Lightroom, but those from Photoshop have been perfect, so could be my settings rather than anything else. Printing is quick, taking not very long at all for an A3+ sheet. Tried both High and Standard quality and to the naked eye there doesn't appear to be any real difference, with Standard being quicker and perhaps a little less thirsty. I know the inks are expensive, but I bought Canon because my wife and I have been using Canon printers for a few years now and they have all surpassed Canon's recommended print life (we print a lot). The newer printer's seem more susceptible to going wrong with third party inks, so I'll be sticking with Canon only on this one.
Overall, the quality of the print is first rate and just wish I'd purchased one before now, rather than using a lab to do my prints! (Oh, for the other professionals out there - I wouldn't recommend this printer for fine art printing, as the print method is more suitable for photo papers, if you want fine art, get the Pro-10 or Pro-1.)

5/5. Quality A3 printer. Print upto 350gsm.
After owing this printer for more than three months now I am more than happy with it overall. First off the print quality is simply outstanding, the colours really pop through and the blacks are acceptable. No loss of quality at any print size up to A3.
You can run paper even at 350gsm without an issue. I like to use 275gsm+ paper for my photography prints and this Pixma prints without issue.
The printer is very quiet while printing which is another bonus as I like to print at night while others sleep. Once connected to your network it prints via wireless with no issue and always connects to my wifi once switching on but I must add here though that set up of the printer to the network became a little tiring after a while but once connected it works a dream.

Mighty printer delivers the goods.
After looking at many reviews I decided to plump for the Canon Pixma Pro series printer and it is a hefty beast and carries a large footprint, however that is its only downside. When it arrived and I opened the box there was the minimal packaging as this printer fills the box from side to side. The set up was really easy and in no time had it up and running. I have to say that I was not disappointed with the prints as they are superb and will compete with the best of the colour labs in the U.K. and I talk from experience.
The quality of this printer is reflected in the price and if you can put up with the large footprint and wait on the printer head aligning itself for every print then the results will make you wonder why you didn't purchase this printer before.
This is not your everyday printer and I suspect only serious photographers will purchase it but if you want lab results then this is the printer for you.

Can’t get it to Air Print
I’ve tried everything in the book via Canon’s own trouble shooting advice but this printer WILL NOT Air Print. This included lugging it back downstairs to sit beside my BT hub for a supposedly better chance of a connection - not an easy task given its size and weight! Works perfectly when actually connected to the MacBook Pro. I have another smaller Canon printer for office work that was a doddle to connect up wirelessly, not so this one! On looking online I see this is a perennial problem with the Pixma Pro 100S and that through Amazon I can actually purchase a set-up service to resolve this issue ! What does that say about the printer? This isn’t a cheap printer and its very disappointing that it doesn’t do as it claims.
