Second time I buy this one (lost the previous one when I moved), I love using it since the removal of hair lasts 4 weeks. Didn't give 5 starts because it didn't get all the hairs, I had to ask my cousin to then go through my legs to pluck out the remaining hairs (about 7%).

I am a woman who had to shave every day for smooth legs. If I got chill bumps soon after a shower, I may as well have not even wasted my time because the hair would all grow right back. It is now January 9 and I have shaved exactly 1 time since this baby was dropped off by Amazon about two weeks before Christmas. (And that was because I wanted to wear a skirt to work and had plans to epilate that night). I've used the epilator 4 times. It's still not completely pain free, but much more bearable. I definitely recommend this product, but go in with clear expectations.

I've had my legs waxed and threaded, so I knew it wouldn't be easy. Last time I was waxed the hair was "almost long enough" and we decided to go for it. A lot of pain (and 80 bucks) for so-so results. I decided to try a different route. We're planning a Caribbean cruise in the spring and I don't want to have to worry about shaving in the tiny shower or side effects of salt water. I figured the epilator was a small enough investment that it was worth a try.

Let me be honest here - this is not pain free hair removal. Even after a hot shower (and yes, some wine) there were areas that felt more like my skin was being peeled away than a bunch of tiny tweezers doing their thing. However, I kept the epilator moving and made it through. The first time, it took me about 45 minutes per leg - of that hour and a half, probably 10 minutes was truly painful, but obviously not unbearable - just not at the top of my list for a fun way to spend Saturday night.

Also of note - your legs will not be perfectly smooth. YET. Hair grows in stages, so while you may have a ton of tiny, snatched out leg hairs littering the top of your toilet seat and bathroom floor, there's another round of follicles pushing out new, minute hairs that aren't long enough for the tweezers to grab yet, but they are long enough to make your legs feel prickly.

Depending on how fast your hair grows, three to five days later, go for another round (of epilating + wine). It won't hurt as bad, but it's not exactly a massage, either. Repeat again in three to five days. Be sure to exfoliate before and after to prevent ingrown hairs and moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!

I love this thing. So let start off by saying it's not pain free at all. But the pain isnt bad, it's a slight sting (kind of like a tattoo) and after a while the affected area feels almost numb and you dont feel it at all. I got this a week and a half ago, opened and used it as soon ad the ups man dropped it off. I will say I used it on hair much longer than I should have, like a whole winter's worth of growth, which is probably why it stung, but damn does this little thing do work. When I quit being a baby and just went for it, I got both legs -ankle to mid thigh- done in about forty five minutes. No redness, no irritation, and no ingrown hairs. I have pcos so my hair grows back faster than it should, in the past I've shaved in the morning to have stubble on my legs by bed time that night, I've used nair and other depilatory creams, to have stubble popup about two days later. GUYS ITS BEEN A WEEK AND A HALF OF SMOOTH STUBBLE FREE SKIN, AND I JUST NOTICED SOME REGROWTH ON ONLY A PART OF ONE LEG. A WEEK AND A HALF GUYS!!!! ITS DOWN RIGHT AMAZING!! As I mentioned I do have pcos which also entails me to a random patch of hair growth on my chin, I've tried everything on the area from shaving, to waxing, to nair only to have come back the same night. Today while going over my one hair spot on my legs I took the plunge and used this on my chin as well and OMG its smoother than when I wax it and I could see the hairs that were pulled out, were pulled out fully by the root. The second time the pain was minimal, more of an annoyance than anything else really. IM A BELIEVER AND A LIFETIME USER! IF YOURE ON THE FENCE AT ALL JUST BUY IT AND GIVE IT A TRY!!! It's amazing!!

Have been using epilators for almost 25 years. This is my 5th epilator and am somewhat satisfied with it, not the best I've had but was cheap so no regrets. It doesn't hurt more than other devices, let me tell you. I can imagine epilation after shaving one's legs might hurt a lot so my advice to all to be a little patient with the process, it gets a little better over time. Also I prefer to do it after a warm shower when the skin is a little softer so the hair is easier to pull.

It comes with no attachments. It has a small light which is weak but somewhat useful to have. After 25 years of continuous epilation most of the hair on my leg is gone so it's easy to miss spots without good lighting conditions so the light as tiny it is still appreciated. It's dual voltage, used it in Europe with just a plug converter without any issues.
As far as performance:
This device doesn't pull some of the hair by the roots. When the disks grab onto them they break therefore they grow back much faster. This might just be user error and have to find the sweet spot for the angle so if over time the performance seems to improve I will definitely update this review. For now I'm giving it a solid 3.5 stars.

does it hurt? um, yeah...it’s 20 electric tweezers plucking your hair from the root! is it as bad as everyone says? no. take an advil, drink a glass of wine and put in some headphones and you will survive, babe. does it leave your legs silky smooth? no. expect your pores to be tugged up with the hair it plucks out. no big deal to me. if youre a hairy beast like me, you will worship this thing for being able to go from having to shave every day to epilating every other week 🙌🙌🙌 !

i got this thing a couple of months ago and my hair growth is noticeably finer and soo much more manageable. and i do agree with the other reviews that the pain of epilating decreases significantly over time!

the plastic safety/massager thing is BS and actively prevents the machine from doing its job so i use the epilator without it. works wonders on pits, too! this is definitely a great starter model. now that i’m a believer, i will probably upgrade to a fancier version with more tweezers but for now, i’m happily hairless(ish).

Works just like it's supposed to. The little rollers on the outside of the tweezers are very pointy... I had to the learn the hard way to not go over an area more than like 3 times. I used it on my armpits and I couldn't get this spot so I kept going over it a bunch of times. The rollers actually gave me a rash on my armpit so I couldn't put my arms down for a day and a half lol. It then scabbed over and I avoided doing it again for 2 months. If you have the same problem I promise it gets better lol. i used it on my armpits for a third time and I had no burning/rash. I only went over a spot once or twice and if I missed a hair or two I would just gets tweezers and pluck to avoid damage to the skin. I suggest looking up the best ways to go about using the epilator to avoid the pain. I also used on my legs and for me it was basically painless

Waited a few months to write this, works great on legs and underarms. Because hair grows in cycles, I have been using this weekly, but I used to shave twice a week and had significantly thicker hair, so I am very happy with a weekly ritual. The hair is also much thinner, so it doesn't feel as necessary to remove the hair as often, and now that I've been using it for a few months and my hair is thinner, I probably will not need to use it as often. I throw my headphones on (because the motor is a bit loud) put on my podcast or a TV show, and just spend about 30min - 1hour to complete both legs and underarms. I have tried bikini area a few times, but this is very hard to use in area without significantly pinching the skin (yes, it does also hurt a lot more pulling the hair out in the area, but the worst part is trying to not pinch your skin because it's not a straight path for the epilator).
