If you've ever gotten a tattoo, I would liken the pain to getting a tattoo sort of. It just stings a bunch as the tool pulls the hairs out. It's not great but it's not terrible.
Why is it worth it?
- It definitely lasts longer. I only really *need* to epilate once every two weeks. So that's great to me.
- If you get all the hairs, your skin feels smoother.
Why is NOT worth it?
- Your skin is very red and splotchy afterwards, so you can't do it before going out. You definitely need a few hours to let your skin calm down.
- For me, it created a lot of ingrown hairs which are frustrating to deal with.
In terms of hair removal, though, this tool does it's job.
I have 0 problems with this particular device, and I really enjoy that you can use it in the shower.

I would recommend this if you purchase the next "level up" to get better results with a wider epilation head plus exfoliation (at least I would hope so). I notice WAY more ingrown hairs on the lower half of my calves since the body has more time to heal itself. This may be a mistake on my part since I used it dry after the first time of using it in the shower. Nevertheless, this still shouldn't be a problem but I guess it really depends on your body.
Unfortunately, I must conclude that this epilator does not work for my coarse hair. I must not exfoliate enough or know how to very well. I did notice a decrease in growth but it still reverts to normal after a week. Before using, I find myself having to individually fix the ingrown hair with tweezers making my leg red and bumpy for hours. While using, I find myself having to go through the same area again just to make sure I get everything, but it does remove very small stubble. At this current stage, I find it embarrassing to wear shorts since my legs have ingrown hairs and are still healing from using tweezers to fix it. I guess after it returns to normal in a couple of weeks, I will continue to use a razor. Bummer.
Q&A
1. Does it hurt? // Referring to legs, it hurts only the first time. After a few uses, you barely notice.
2. Does it leave your legs as smooth as shaving? // More or less. Definitely not as silky.
3. Can you use it under your arms? // Yes, it will hurt so much that I don't think it's worth it. They may also bleed a little.
4. Can you use it in your privates? // I would not recommend this at all.
5. How is the battery life? // After 4 uses, I have not yet had to recharge it so the battery life is great.
6. Is this quiet or loud? // I would consider it pretty loud. If there's no background noise, you can hear it from outside a room, even if you're in the shower.
7. Did you notice a difference in hair growth? // Yes, a dramatic difference in thickness and speed of growing back. It was more sporadic. My underarms felt like I had a laser treatment (what I would imagine), no ingrown hair there and it grew back more fine with reduced darkness around the area.
Good luck.
