Nada malo.
Now to everyone who is thinking about buying these after going on the same road like me , let me tell you what the real experience is with these 170+ pounds headphones.
1st you cant listen longer then 10 minutes before u take them off , the headphones are so uncomfortable , u have to replace the ear pads , they are that cheap and bad , thats 20+ pounds more adding to the price , then u realise even with nicer earpads , your head still hurts because the headphones are squashing your head soo hard just to emulate some sort of noise canceling that i dont even need when i use these only at home.
2. Bluethooth is soo bad , it constantly chops the sounds of the video , or the music , because the signal is too fragile i guess , when u have other devices that use wireless signal like mouse , keyboard etc. I dont think this is a faulty unit , i really believe that the whole line up is like that.
3. The sounds quality. The main reason i bought these and i didnt see a single review that bash on the quality of the sounds , they all prise it. Well ok , for 6 months i used these headphones 20% of the time , and every single time was a struggle to find a reason to keep using them.I have to crank the volume to max to hear anything , its muffled sound and the people that praise it , really need to think about do they actually know or do they actually heard a good sounding headphones to compare them to these. The 80% of the time im using my 24 pound gaming headset from sades , a perfect crisp sounds , light headphones , no pain , u can wear them for hours and hours , sometimes i forget that i have them on my head , i dont have to replace the ear pads , the perfect headphones , the only thing that is annoying is that cable around me. But even that has a + side with a very handy controller that has a mute microphone , it has volume controller , it has everything that a 170+ pounds headphone should have had.
Im just trying to save your 170+ pounds and beg you to look for other options , im still not sure what i wonna do with my Audio Technica headphones , the choices are resell , gift to someone or the trash bin.
That is a honest review of my experience , i dont usually do that when i dont like a product , but the price on this one still hurts me. The price for these headphones should be 23 pounds , a pounds cheaper then the one im using , because they are not 150+ pounds better , thery are not even 1 pounds better in any way , shape or form.
Look away from these headphones , please.
PLEASE NOTE THESE THINGS BEFORE YOU BUY THE ATHM50XBT :
1. CONNECTIVITY : It can connect to only one device at a time. Thats the worst thing in a bluetooth headphone. You'll have to disconnect from your mac first before connecting to your phone and then again disconnect from your phone first before connecting back to the mac. Its more pain than you realize.
2. VOICE ASSISTANT : Barely works. The touch input is laggy and inaccurate. Most of the times it won't work. I'd say the success rate is 30%
3. BUTTONS : They're okay, but sometimes don't work with my OnePlus 5. The volume controls simply refuse to take input and give a beep sound when changing volume. I then explicitly need to change my phone's volume to adjust.
4. COMFORT : These are not meant for warm environments. You'll sweat in these like crazy. There's no airflow. This is a problem in the Athm50x too, but oh God do I hate this.
5. VOLUME : The max volume on this device i.e. Athm50xbt is less than that of athm50x. Is still loud enough. But again, why tho?
I am still happy with the headphones coz I don't like any other brand's sound signature. But 18k is alot to ask for that too with such pathetic features. Audio Technica didn't put alot of effort in these, atleast that's what it seems like.
Absolutely not worth the cost
If I had to give two improvements to these headphones, it would be including USB-C for charging (it's 2018 now cmon) and also, the headband could be ever so slightly thicker with its padding and so I could wear it for hours without any fatigue around my head.
Somit mussten die ATH-M50xBT her.
I pulled the headphones out expecting to find clear signs of use, as they were not wrapped in anything, no seals, nothing. Then I noticed two worn out plastic bags containing two leads, one was the USB charger and it was so short, I thought someone was having a laugh. This "charger" lead is maximum 10-15cm, what exactly were they thinking? A USB lead can be had for pennies, yet in this "premium" £175 box you find what usually comes out of a pack of corn flakes.
Taking a look at the quality of construction of these headphones, there is nothing special, no brushed aluminium, no leather pads, nothing other than cheap plastic, as found on £20 headphones. Again, I wonder what I paid the £175 for.
I agree with other reviews that the pads could be slightly larger, and they are already larger than the Sennheiser HD202 which I have here. I'd still prefer them at least 1cm wider to fit over the ear rather than partially on the ear.
Connecting via Bluetooth was completely unproblematic and straight forward. Connection was clear with no interference, crackle or other artefacts. Sound quality was good and I would not be able to tell whether wired or wireless.
Moving on to actual sound quality I found it OK, only slightly better than the HD202, and definitely worse sound than the taotronics bluetooth earbuds I have here. Max volume was only average, these will definitely not rock you. Again, if there must be "value" in the £175 price tag, I cannot see it.
Finally latency over the bluetooth connection was OK, I did not measure it scientifically, maybe 250ms or so, same as taotronics bluetooth earbuds.
I am very disappointed with these and have returned them.
DO NOT BUY.
The Audio-Technica website prevents you putting in the correct purchase date. This means Audio-Technica refuses the much publicised cashback. Got no joy from the're support.
Not impressed. Will be returning these.
UPDATE. Still, not got the advertised cashback. Now told I claimed too early. This is, simply, dishonest and deceiving customers. Amazon should do something about this. Disgusted.
Good:
* Audio quality is good, as expected from a mid-range pair. If you've had the original M50X, expect the same good quality.
* Detachable cable lets me use it indefinitely with my laptop, and without wires on my commute
* Battery life is great, I haven't had it die on me and I only charge it in short bursts when I'm not using it
* Passive isolation is enough to reduce outside noise to manageable levels
* Fold-able design
Bad:
* They sit on your head a bit too tight, the headband is stiff
* As expected from the pads, it can get warm and sweat cannot really escape
* Buttons are a bit annoying to use (hold-to-skip takes too long) and the touch button is limited to siri/google/whatever (it would be nice to be able to change functionality
Meh:
* Cable provided is short
* Cannot use BT while charging
I first tried these plugged into my Sony A45 and played some FLAC files. You can hear the full detail without distortion even at a high volume. I also use them with a DAC plugged into my computer to stream Tidal HiFi and they sound great here too. You really do need a good source and good quality files to get the most out of these, but if you have those, the audio quality speaks for itself.
I got the wireless model simply so I have the option of using them via bluetooth while travelling, when convenience is the preference over sound quality. In bluetooth mode they work as well as you probably expect - which is to say, you will always get lossy audio through a bluetooth connection regardless of your source, but they still sound very reasonable and the connection itself is solid even in busy areas with many signals around you. For reference, in bluetooth mode I am usually connecting them to my iPhone or iPad.
Most of the time I use them plugged into my laptop, DAC, or Sony portable so I can enjoy them to their full potential and again they do not disappoint at all. These are my daily headphones and have been for around six months. I have zero regrets about the purchase.
I highly recommend these to anyone who wants the best possible value on excellent headphones that can provide the full potential of lossless audio for under £200.
Had the Audio Technica MTH50s for about seven years so was looking forward to this upgrade - but I will be sending them back and shopping around. Very disappointed.
So, they had to be over the ear, closed back etc and I settled on Audio-Technica ATH-M50XBT Wireless Over-Ear Portable Headphones.
They are indeed high quality units, Bluetooth worked flawlessly with my iPhone.
However, I knew within 30 seconds that I had made a mistake with this purchase as I could clearly hear the sound coming from the television set during quite passages within the music I was listening to.
The sound leakage (coming in to the headphones) was so bad that I packed them up and sent them back within about 10 minutes of trying them on.
No good whatsoever for my purposes - unfortunate but that's how it is.
I'm now looking at the more expensive Bose Quiet Comfort 35 Series II or the Sony WH-1000XM3.
I'm no expert but the sound is amazing, however if you love bass the bass isn't very punchy.
They're very comfortable for a couple hours then become quite uncomfortable.
Not great if you want noise cancelling.
The battery life is INSANE. Barely ever have to charge it.
If I use the mic built into the headphones are rubbish, if I use them for a call the person on the other end will always say they can barely hear me. If you use the mic on the aux cable this is great.
The controls on the headphones are good, handy however I never use the Google assistant.
They are super durable. At the two year mark theyre still going strong.
Yes I've said a few negative things however for the price I don't think you can get much better
Speech is very clear and neutral, which is uncommon in phones although there is a touch of sibilance at the top end. Overall, pretty good, with a moderate if not expansive soundstage.
Wireless is horrible in comparison, but that's purely down to Bluetooth compression and losses. You get used to it, but after the wired experience it sounds oddly mono. The phones ability with speech comes to the fore with TV though, but be warned it can be a bit unnerving since you can hear all the bits where there speech has been reinserted after filming, and sound effects are simply that, like audio photoshop!
Comfort is good, and they fit over my glasses well. I found them easy to use and to pair with assorted tech.
Overall, worth the money and better than most. Just don't expect wireless to be hi-fi!
+ nulla da dire per quanto riguarda la qualità dell'audio, AT è una garanzia. Già prima di aprirsi restituiscono un suono bilanciato, con bassi potenti ma non esplosivi, alti cristallini e medi ben definiti;
+ buono il bluetooth, che ha una buona portata e sacrifica poco il volume e la qualità dell'audio;
+ estremamente leggere.
Contro:
- soffrono del classico fischio di sottofondo tipico delle cuffie bluetooth, anche se non mi aspettavo che una cuffia da 200€ ne fosse affetta;
- microfono in chiamata da cestinare, ogni persona con la quale ho telefonato si è lamentata di sentirmi molto male;
- scomode da impazzire: i padiglioni scaldano in maniera oscena, diventano insopportabili già dopo 10/15 minuti;
- pessimo isolamento ambientale, tra i peggiori che abbia mai provato su delle cuffie chiuse;
Pros:
- The sound is great! It’s quite neutral, so pretty much all genres of music sound good with these cans. There’s very minimal sibilance and the bass is tight and controlled. If you are a bass-head you’ll probably be disappointed, but if you like balanced and natural sound with a flat-ish frequency response curve - these will do great!
- The build quality is fantastic. These cans won’t fall apart easily. Sure, the pads will get stiff sooner or later, but that is the case with the majority of headphones. They are replaceable though and so it really isn’t an issue.
- The battery life is amazing and theres almost no self discharge which I experienced with many other wireless headsets.
- Google Assistant/Siri integration is useful, and the possibility to take calls is a nice bonus.
Cons:
- The integrated amp has mediocre noise to signal ratio, which results in a constant “hiss” whenever the cans are on. During the quietest parts of your favorite songs you WILL hear it and there’s no way around it. This is a bit of a bummer as otherwise the sound is great.
- The volume changes in steps that are a bit too chunky. Sometimes I find a volume a tad too low, so I increase it by one step and...it gets a tad too high. Smoother control would be nice.
- The leather pads will stiffen up if you have naturally oily skin around your ears. You will probably need a replacement in a few months. Fortunately, good third-party options are available, so it isn’t a big deal, but I would still prefer if AT used a better quality leather, as this is otherwise a very well built product.
- No USB Type C. Come on, guys... enough with outdated connectors already. There’s no reason to keep using micro-USB anymore.
The sound isolation is okay for headphones without any noise cancellation, but bear in mind if you wear them somewhere extremely noisy like a bus they will not block out all the noise.
The battery life is good, and the 40 hour advertised seems right.
The comfort of them is okay too. The top of the headband can be a bit uncomfortable sometimes, but not bad enough to stop using them.
I rated it 4 out of 5 stars as the buttons on the side of the ear cup could be a lot better. There is a lack of tactile feel that clearly distinguishes the buttons intent. I find that I slide by finger along the whole panel to determine a positional reference to find the button I want.
Overall, no regrets on the purchase of these excellent quality bluetooth headset.
A mi no me importaba demasiado.
