I use these for gaming and for making calls. I chose them because I watched a youtube video and heard the difference in sound quality of the microphone versus another headset I was interested in. The mic sounds pretty good. I gave the headphones some time to break in, and they sound pretty damn good for wireless headphones.
They don't sound as nice and bassy and full like my Sony WH 1000 XM3's, but those are bluetooth and not really suitable for gaming/voice chat due to latency (and on the low latency mode they sound terrible).
IDK about the surround gimmick. I don't think it works. No surprise there.
They're mostly comfortable, but I feel like the band is kinda cheap. It almost fits perfectly, but the shape doesn't seem quite right. Nice of them to include extra ear pads.
The exposed wires look junky. The positioning of the controls could be better, but all the controls you want are there.
Worst thing - what's the battery life? No way of telling. It just beeps at you when it gets low.
I feel like the range is bad too, if I compare these to my bluetooth headset. I know the last 2.4ghz headset I had was sorta similar, range wise tho, so not really knockin it there...but still...seems really short range.

The mic is crisp and very clear, possibly one of the best mics you can get if you're set on a wireless headset. The sound is decent. I can't tell a huge difference between it and my M50s, so certainly you're paying money for the wireless instead of the sound quality. This is a common problem with wireless headsets. That being said, I find it hard to judge the sound quality in general because I so strongly prefer an open back headset when gaming. I can, however, play games without trouble and pinpoint where sounds are coming from if need be.
The headset is extremely comfortable and seems to be built fairly well. I don't anticipate any problems with it as long as the internals hold up. These also don't crush my ears like some headsets have in the past, which is a bonus.
Before purchasing, I did read a few reviews about the headset cutting out. This happens to me as well, but it's always in the same spot in the house, near several appliances. I can only assume that the headset has problems when confronted with other signals on occasion, but sitting at my PC, with even my router and TV nearby, I have no problems with it. The range is pretty nice as well. Obviously as you go further away you'll have problems with any wireless headset, but I can move upstairs, downstairs, and around most of my house without having major issues, even through walls.
Ultimately this headset is on the pricey side, but I'm not sure if there's much better out there for wireless gaming headsets in 2020. Hopefully the tech will continue to evolve and we'll get something truly perfect, but in the meantime, this headset comes fairly close. I just wish it had been cheaper. :)

I ended up sending these back for a refund, the connection issues and the lack of software is just too much given the steep $250 price tag. I ended up grabbing the Steelseries Arctis 7 2019 edition and while they aren't as good as the Audio-Technica's they do sound extremely good, the software is robust and has lots of features, and they cost $125 less.

PROS:
-Extremely lightweight
-Comfortable yet tight fit - these won't go flying off your head
-Simple design - I love the blue ring on the earcups
-Barely sufficient connection range. I've seen reviews with odd connection issues but I can use these through several walls or on different floors. It works fine next to my wifi router and works fine with my microwave going. The only time this starts to cut out is if I put more than 3 walls between me or go to a different floor on the other side of my house.
-Mic quality is amazing. One of the best wireless headset mics out there.
-Detachable mic
-Battery life is OK with 13+ hours of use. Other headsets can pull off 20+ hours of use.
-No software. There is no need to install resource hungry software to control the headset. The headset is that good.
-Sound quality. The out of the box sound profile this headset has is amazing. You have your bass and you have your treble. You also have your mids. Everything is balanced well. The bass doesn't overpower the other sounds and neither does the treble. I've seen some reviews that say this headset is flat but it seems to be a U shaped EQ with elevated mids.
NEUTRAL:
-The 7.1 surround sound mode isn't a fake surround mode like Dolby or DTS. It's more like an EQ change on the headset that brings the mids out more. I'm not a fan but others may like it. It would have been interesting if AT added more EQ modes/sound profiles like this that users could toggle between.
-I'm not an audiophile and it could just be me getting used to the sound profile but with the sound quality there does seem to be detail lacking. I can't put my finger on it, but it could just be the headset is so good, it is exposing poor audio quality sources.
CONS:
-Headset does have a white noise/hiss sound on the left earcup where all the controls are. The right earcup doesn't have issues. The sound is very quiet though and not overbearing like the Arctis Pro Wireless.
-No software. While the sound profile is great, it would be nice to have some EQ control and other control like autoshut off.
-Price. I am not sure why this is nearly $100 more than the wired version. I would say this should cost around $200.
-It takes several hours to charge fully - around 5 or so
-I can hear the exposed wire rubbing on something when I walk around
These cons are more nitpicks than anything else. If you are in the market for a good wireless headset, do look into this if you can fit it in your budget.

PROs:
Light and Comfortable
The only wireless gaming headset with FR from 5-40k Hz. No wonder the detail is better than most of gaming brand headset.
V-shaped sound, but give enough detail for competitive gaming. soundstage is pretty accurate.
Best used for movies and gaming. OK for music.
No drivers, just plug and play.
Mic is great for wireless.
CONs:
Occasionally there will be interference, but this is due to 2.4ghz device and my WIFI. If your house is only using 5Ghz, you won't see any problem.
Battery is not user replaceable.

1) The sound is great
2) Very comfortable
Now for the bad stuff. First off, despite the comfort and sound quality, these headphones feel very cheaply made. Cheap plastic, cheap feeling buttons and controls, cheap feeling microphone. But the thing that kills these has to be the wireless system. It's crap, just crap. The headphones are constantly disconnecting from the computer even when I'm sitting 3 feet away from the wireless dongle with no interference. I've even had them completely disconnect and stay disconnected for absolutely no reason. I have another headset that I can walk around my entire apartment in and they'll stay on, but with these I can't even go to the other side of my room. It's pathetic.

Sadly after about a month they now randomly cut out for 1-3 seconds. At first it wasn't really even noticeable but it has gotten to the point where they now cutout 3-4 times per minute.

GIVE IT TIME!!! JUST GIVE IT A BIT!!! TRUST ME!!! After a while its all worth it!! Also get the warranty because they are expensive.

If this headset would actually have software and drivers it would be decent.
Its comfortable, but technology sucks and takes friggin 7 HOURS to charge.

Not worth the money.

I’m constantly trying to talk to people on Discord and it’s annoying to ask them to repeat themselves when the headset cuts out. I’m sitting right next to the USB connector.

The only con in my opinion is battery life being around 15 hours.
