Best buy
Best laptop. Good performance. Does not hang or lag. Not for games though. A better verisok now in market. Bought this one and next version came out in 3 months :( . But overall a very good laptop for $1500. It's been around 1 year now that I own this, still feels like it was bought last month.

Great design...for those who need 2 screens.
As others have notes, the second screen above the keyboard crams the keyboard down and to the left, with a small touch pad on the right. I tried to get used to this layout, and decided the extra screen is less important for what I do than a convenient, conventional keyboard layout.
So am returning this and ordering Zenbook 14 with smart ScreenPad in the traditional place: centered below the keys. Only other critique: the blue case shows every fingerprint :{

Great laptop, may need external keyboard for extended use..
This has been one of the best laptops I've owned. I frequently use both touchscreens and the ability to multitask is great. The keyboard is usable, but lacks a number pad and the touchpad mouse can take some getting used to because of it's location. It's also important to note that this model does not have the number pad on the touchpad that some other models do.

Great little notebook, but
Really a nice system. The touch screen is very responsive and doesn't show fingerprints all over. The system is really fast and I liked the set-up, especially the touchpad off to the side. Only reason I withheld a star is because as a short person, I could never get the notebook positioned where both the smart pad plus and the screen were clearly viewable at the same time, so sadly, I decided to return it. I don't know any way the visibility issue could be determine prior to purchase, just be aware. I'm 5'2 and short torso so even placing notebook on my lap rather than lap desk didn't work for me.

Nice Idea, But....
I really like the fact that this unit has a second display built. It helps with the applications that I use.
But, the displays both have their limitations. The main display does not get bright enough to be used either outdoors or in a room with bright sunlight entering through a window. The secondary display is almost always too dim, mainly because of the angle in which it is mounted. Unless using in a darkened room this display is always at it's highest brightness. The stand included with the laptop would help get the display to a better angle for visibility if it were designed correctly. Unfortunately it is a laughable piece of flimsy vinyl that Asus should be ashamed to include this with a laptop in this tier.
The power adapter supplied is also of inadequate size. When using the laptop while charging a nearly depleted battery the charger is very hot and slow to charge.
I do like the mousepad on the right. I as concerned about this design when I bought the Duo but it is working out nicely for me.
The heat seems to be well managed and the fan is not loud when under a heavy load.

When a work bonus brings opportunity for novelty!
Bought this laptop mostly for the novelty of it. However I am going back to school (completely online) and figured this would help me with writing research papers etc and having multiple tabs open that I can view all at the same time. Class starts next month, so we’ll see how it goes. One thing I will say is that the shift key on the right side of the keyboard is in a bit of an awkward placement for my fingers. I have to make a conscious (visualize) effort to hit the shift key. It’s not in the normal spot/spacing of a standard keyboard. This this may take some getting use to. Overall I am happy with my purchase.

Overall I love it
I got this for the two screens for work. The small screen is not perfect but handy and better than no additional screen. I don't care for the smaller shift key on the right side, but I do love the mouse pad not being under my hands when I type. Overall I really love this laptop so far (have only had it a few weeks)

Nice tradeoff
I got it for a 15% discount on Black Friday, so it was perfect value for money.
The second half screen is useful for utility windows, so that the main screen is 100% dedicated to the actual work.
The keyboard is a bit tight, and the trackpack position on the right needs some getting used to.
The external stylus is a plus as it allows the user to make good use of the touch screens.
I am disappointed that I need to pay another $50+ for a StarTech USB-C/HDMI adaptor required to use a second screen (a simple USB-C/HDMI connector does not support a second monitor).

An excellent laptop to work with
Although my product came damaged because I purchased this from the seller Mobile Advance, as an engineer myself, I was able to patch up this computer to get it working. There are some minor inconveniences such as key lighting being too bright, or some software issues related to the computer itself, you must remember that this is still one of the early version of duo screen laptops. There are bound to be problems here and there, and it is not a perfect product. However, you will definitely get much more productivity with this computer.
When you purchase this computer, make sure to AVOID the seller MOBILE ADVANCE. Within the past 30 days, they have had 25% UNHAPPY customers. Purchase from someone else.

Light enough to carry but enough power to do it all! The multiple screens come in handy for creatives and multi-tasking. The stylus/pen is nice but goes through batteries if you use it much.

Very awesome laptop, unique features, great battery life!
Wonderful and robust little machine. Love the dual-screen feature. I can drop my zooms into the lower screen and continue working on the main screen. Very helpful in meetings so you don't interrupt your work flow.

I've had problems with laptops sliding away from when on a smooth surface and this one has proven to stay put so far. The color is a great break from normal black and grey's used in the computer world. Nothing feels "cheap" on it.

Fast laptop with great screen(s)
This is my "road" computer, but it would serve very well as a desktop replacement. It's fast, with high quality graphics, and a second screen above the keyboard. This puts the keyboard at the bottom of the base, with the touchpad to the right of the keyboard. Much better than the conventional laptop keyboard placement. The keyboard is full-size, but a little cramped. If you need a larger keyboard, get the next larger 15" size. I preferred smaller and lighter. Besides, I find the keyboard very good to type on, with good backlighting and a good feel. I use it for writing and programming, with some graphics applications such as presentations and light photo editing. My previous laptop was also an ASUS, so I'm obviously convinced of the brand.

Excellent notebook computer with many unique features
Great notebook. I purchased it because I teach computer classes on Zoom. I find using this dual screen notebook to be better than using a notebook attached to a second external screen. Using the built-in second screen makes it appear to my studentsthat I am looking at them rather than looking away from them as I demonstrate something on whatever app I am teaching. The notebook has lots of unique features built in, including displaying a numeric keyboard on the secondary screen when desired. I really have no complaints except the shift key is not in its normal position, resulting in my frequently accidentally pressing the up arrow key instwad of the shift key.

Touchscreen not so touch
I can only rate the touch screen at the moment. I received this product last week and I just got the opportunity to open this bad boy up with full excitement to only be disappointed. I noticed the 2nd bottom display screen wasn't touch but I figured maybe I needed to enable something and I'd work on it later. After I installed all my adobe suite apps and uploaded all my files, I began working on the problem. After looking through all the settings and then calling Asus customer service, they could not fix the issue. I had heard a few people complaining about the same issue after a Microsoft update which I had to do also. Some people stated that the driver stopped working after the update. Not fully sure if that was the case or not because mines didn't work from the beginning. Unfortunately, Amazon can't replace the item immediately since it's on back order so now I have to wait another month which is causing me to dislike the product already!!!

How did I work without this computer?
I am loving the dual screens! I pin various apps I use a lot to the screenpad. I keep my email open most of the time. I watch a video with the notes on the screen simultaneously. It's amazing!
The only thing I don't love is the location of the right shift key. It is small and a bit further than traditional so I tend to hit page up instead of shift. I think I will adapt with time, but it is driving me nuts right now.
The rest of the computer works as expected for a laptop of this grade.

A multitaskers dream!!!!
Perfect so multitasking if you don’t have additional computer monitors. I like watching videos while I work, so now I can leave YouTube playing on the bottom screen while working on the top without having to minimize or switch between tabs! So MAJOR!!! Also, I can also compar notes so much easier with the second screen! Before, I would open two tabs and fit them so they could be side by side. I save so much time and hassle this way. By far the BEST laptop I’ve purchased.

Its incredibly beautiful.
The dual touch and the stylus pen that came with it are excellent "value for money ". Two things I don't like about this lap top: tight sleeve and the difficulty in flipping it open.

Its really fast and good graphics.The few things that I didn't like was that the usb c doesn't work. Tried so many method but still doesn't work. Had the same problem with my other Asus laptop. The battery dies quickly.

Good replacement for a mini, portable 2nd monitor
Great product. Love the size and the dual screens. 2nd screen is a little dim and lies too flat. I actually darkened the main screen to the same brightness, but in a highly lit room, the bottom screen is a little hard to see.

Great Machine
All-around great computer, EXCEPT the mouse pad. It is not effectively/consistently responsive, so it's kind of cumbersome and annoying to use. But I almost always have a separate mouse attached, so it's not a deal-breaker. (The touch screens are wonderfully responsive though!) Also, if you're used to a full-sized keyboard, prepare to retrain your finger-spacing. This one is even more compact than my last Asus laptop. It is something you get used to though. And, again, I typically have a separate keyboard attached when I'm working anyway.

Touchy trackpad.
Great for lighter workloads. I literally only got this for managing stocks and the two screens are great on the road.
However trackpad is horrible, and using it without a mouse takes A LOT of practice.
Battery time seems awesome.

Overall it’s a winning design.
Overall I Love it. Takes a moment to get used to. Big complaint is the right shift key. That’s the only thing I hate. To get the whole keyboard to fit they shrunk the shift key. Bad idea. They should have done like HP and split the down button into two so that the up and down are in the space of one button and left the shift alone.

USB -C cannot connect to external monitor
Nice laptop, well built (heavy), second screen not much use in office if you have external monitor.
its useful when outside.
batt life is good - able to control charge at 60% (supposed to extend batt life vs 100% charge )
Touchscreen is great, as well as pen
BIGGEST drawback - CANNOT connect to 2 external monitors - the USB C has no video output.(Hence 3 stars)

My Zenbook
I love my zenbook. I have not figured out how the extension of the main screen works yet; but I will. The only issue I see is the shift key on the right side of the keyboard is a bit off but it is workable. I am not speed typing, so I can work it out. I love the performance and all the features.

Best laptop I have owned so far.I love that there is a second screen above the keyboard that is just big enough to view videos or tutorials while working on the main screen.I can take the laptop anywhere while working without having to worry about how to get a second screen

The computer is great! It is a good multitasker and even if you have like 5 applications open it still runs super smoothly. But sometimes the touch screen glitches, but it’s not often. Great Laptop

There are several pros and cons with this laptop.
May or may not apply to every user:
Pros:
1. Two screens: the only reason I ever bought this laptop.
I have always used two screens. every time i need to do my work, prepare presentations, writing manuscripts with multiple references/citations. Having a laptop with two screens is much better than an additional USB screen connected to the laptop.
Cons:
1. difficult to use kepboard
2. i didnt have to look at the keyboard to type, but with this laptop, i certainly needed to, especially while using the delete key or the cursor keys
3. very difficult to use while on your lap. the edge of the screen can be really painful.
Conclusion:
I RETURNED MY LAPTOP WITHIN 4 WEEKS.
for some reason my laptop speakers and microphone stopped working.
i installed and reinstalled the drivers,....no use.
i reset windows,....still did not work.
contacted ASUS support, which is another story.
they keep you on hold forever, and then tell you to try online options first,
then i finally was able to reach an online tech suport uing the chat,....very painful, but did manage to connect to one.
he told me to reset again to factory settings, if it didnt work, send for repair.
i have never had a laptop that i needed to send for repairs within first 4 weeks of use......especially one which costs the most of all nearly ~$1600.
hence i decided to return.
horrible, frustrating experience.
like the functionality of 2 screens, want to order another one, but scared!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good laptop... for the most part
The laptop was powerful and was able to do what I needed it to do. The 2nd screen leaves a bit to the imagination. It doesn't get bright enough and it's as an odd angle which makes everything even more dark. I found it mostly unusable.

Arrived with a defective camera and misadvertised features
I had this laptop for a day before returning it. It was fast while I was troubleshooting the problems it arrived with but that is all the good I can say. The dual screen seemed like a very neat idea and the key point for purchasing my first ASUS. Sadly, it arrived with a defective integrated camera that could not be recognized by Windows no matter what we tried, including a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro as directed by ASUS.
NOTE!! Don't be fooled by the video on this listing detail page which shows a light-up track pad as a num pad, this feature does NOT exist on this model, which I confirmed with ASUS after trying to figure out how to enable it, instead you can bring it up on screen and have it take up some real estate.
As this was my very first experience with ASUS I cannot trust their brand, and therefore cannot recommend this notebook as cool as it looks due to quality issues and false advertisement.
NOTE!! Exactly What Was advertised
The ASUS ZenBook Duo UX481is unigue in that it has "Screenpad Plus". There are several things you can do with the Screenpad, from enlarging your main screen to parking secondary aps for easy access. I have enjoyed using this feature a lot.

I personal really love this laptop because of how easy and fast I'm able to learn how to use it. All the programs are easy to learn and the extra touch screen is my favorite. I just wish it came with the Asus Stylus pen.

I had fun putting a skin on it.
We loved the unique design and extra touch screen. My son really really admired it. I ended up giving it to him. He probably wouldn't have picked it for himself, but he loves it. He says it works with among us and leaf blower revolution. Whatever that means.

Secondary Monitor Broken on Arrival
UPDATE: After going through ASUS customer service (which was quite good), I shipped the product back and the issue was resolved and returned to me. It took almost 4 weeks, but I do have a functional laptop. I just needed to wait a little while longer than expected.
After days re-installing to factory settings, updating every driver possible, talking to Amazon about the product and a 2 hour conversation with Asus tech support, they've declared that I received a malfunctioning screen. I need to ship the laptop to ASUS, but since they do not have a Canadian distribution center to repair, you'll need a special authorization and to wait for more information. Expect delays beyond 10 business days, inside the US. It would be cool to actually get a working version of the thing I bought someday.
For spending $2000, you'd think the seller would test these products before making customers go through such an inconvenience.

That keyboard though!
Overall was a nice unit. Couldn’t adjust to “displaced” keys on the keyboard and sent it back. Never used the touchscreen. I flipped back to the pixelbook go.

Far better than any mac book !
Far better than any mac book. Perfect for college/school, graphic design, recording arts, and everything in between. 100% recommend. Top quality ASUS if you dont want to spend the extra for the Pro. I think smaller is better, this one is still a bit heavy so I cant imagine how heavy the pro version is.

Good laptop but BEWARE!!!!!!
The laptop hd done what i want it to do mostly, play games at good quality, help me multitask doing school work, and etc.
However the keycaps on this laptop were cheaply made and have a very awkward size. So when/if your keycaps or some part ever breaks, there wont be any replacement parts on the market for this laptop.

Great Laptop
I like you can work with two screens, both are touch. I learned to use the kwyboard and the mouse pad in you right lower corner but it wasnt really hard... I am in loved with this... 100%

Beautiful laptop.
Really love this laptop so far. By far I'm not a computer wiz at all. I haven't owned a laptop or computer in years!! But this laptop is so far very simple to use. If I am able to keep it alive for years to come then the money spent was well worth it. 👌

Powerful. Nuff said.
Love the second screen. I do lots of photo & video editing as well as needing multiple screens for work. This laptop handles it all. As well as my 60MP files from my Sony A7R4.
I just wish it were silver or black. Who came up with this greenish color??
