Good motherboard, but some pin and screw hole locations are terribly placed.
I love this motherboard. It's a great product. The BIOS on it is pretty easy to use and made it easy for a newbie to setup his first hand-built computer. Getting it installed was a bit of a challenge. The nine screw holes are fine where they are, but they make it REALLY hard to get some screws in by surrounding the holes entirely with pieces of flair (RGB components on the board). I probably spent a good 2 hours trying to get all the screws in the holes. I would definitely recommend a magnetic screwdriver if you even want to attempt to mount this thing in a case. Once I managed to get it installed, some of the pins where I plug the fans in are just terribly placed. Three are great along the edge opposite of the I/O panel, but two are up near the CPU socket. If you're using air cooling like I am, the wiring situation is far less than phenomenal because I had to wire the fan wires around the CPU fan.
All in all, I really enjoy it. I know I harped about installation and port locations but the motherboard works well and I was able to get everything setup despite barely knowing what I was doing. I'd recommend it. I would be nice if it came with WiFi, though.

Great for what I need
While I wanted a high end gaming PC, I don't really want to bother with overclocking or running SLI or anything else that would be found on the higher end motherboards. This was a great value of having the stuff I wanted (good chipset, easy to use UEFI BIOS, good on board audio) and not paying for the stuff I didn't need like 3 way SLI, dual gigabit lan, advanced overclocking features (it has overclocking features, I don't know how extensive as I don't really plan on using them), etc.
The only downside that I was not a big fan of was that the rear IO shield is cheap looking aluminum. Not a big deal but reading the IO ports is fairly difficult if it's under a desk and you're trying to get to the back of the PC.
The EUFI BIOS is quite nice. Being able to update your BIOS from within the BIOS is neat. NVIDIA also has something built in where the first time you boot windows, it will ask to install all the drivers directly without any internet connection required. This makes new installs so easy to get to a functioning driver and can easily be disabled if you don't want it. I will say that the updater software that came with it that is supposed to tell me if there's a new version of the bios available doesn't work reliably. We bought two of these and both of them upgraded (to different versions) and then told us there was no more available updates. We checked the webpage for an upgrade and there was a completely different version available.

Came with Bent pins.
For now I need to give this product a 1 star review. The socket on the motherboard came with 2 bent pins which may lead one to believe there is a serious lack of quality control during the manufacturing process. I am unsure if anything else is wrong with it, but given 2 visibly bent pins on opposite sides of the socket I wouldn't doubt it. With it being broken I am unable to check if any of the other parts are operational as well.

Another great ASUS MOBO
I've used ASUS motherboards for the last 20 years, and have always been pleased with them. I'm sure there are other excellent choices, but I've never had one fail. I really like the UMEI BIOS, which makes it easier to navigate than the BIOS on my last MOBO. The manual is excellent, and makes installation a breeze. The only difficulty I encountered was connecting the case inputs to the MOBO. After stumbling around trying to connect the pins to the MOBO, I found the System Panel Connector block/jack that came with the MOBO. It had every input clearly labeled. I attached the front panel connectors to it, then plugged it into the MOBO. Nice, quick and easy!

Very good Board for the price!
This review is for the ASUS PRIME Z390-A. I've noticed some reviews for this motherboard are actually for others so I figured I'd make it clear which board I'm talking about.
I previously owned an ASUS Z97-A. It lasted 6 years. I bought this one because I love ASUS motherboards and this seemed like a fine upgrade from the previous. I don't care for the ones geared towards gamers even though I am a gamer. This one pretty much has everything I needed. I was dumbfounded and very happy that ASUS merged their Dual intelligent processors software into the motherboard itself. That was a fantastic Idea.
Pros: Great for pretty much anything computer-wise. Has RGB lighting on the board itself and they work lol. Virtually no installation issues and no issues since startup either. Fan control is now in the bios itself. There is a fan extension header!
Cons: Does not work with Windows 7. I already bought Windows 10 prior but my 3-4 year old SSD had windows 7 on it. This drive would not work with this board at all. Windows 10 is a must prior to buying it. I lost all of my data on SSD with Windows 7. There are a grand total of 2 fan headers. There's several other fan headers that can control case fans like M.2. fan, CPU opt but it's just irritating there's only 2 main case fan headers.
I sincerely hope this board lasts at least as long as the previous but ASUS boards are the best!

Sound product. Looks great and works even better.
I just installed this in a new pc i built recently. The board has a ton of slots for installing whatever you could imagine. The only issue I’ve had is the board only having 4pin slots for RGB connections and the ones for my case are 3pin connections so i can’t sync my rgbs completely which is a minor annoyance. Other than that i can’t complain. I love the white and the contrast of that to all the black components in my open case. The rgb lights in the board look great and easily sync with aura lighting. I could say more and get all technical but I’ll let this be a simple review.
I’d recommend this motherboardcto anyone. You can spend a lot more and get a better board but all and all this will run great and all modern components will easily connect.
Keep in mind it’s only for certain products ai check your specs.

Great looking board, proof that you can’t trust a book by its cover
I just got done with a z370-G(worst Asus motherboard ever made, I have many reasons why) this motherboard runs the way I think that asus mobo’s should. Everything works great. Update: you get what you pay for. I thought that maybe Asus had fixed the bugs from the z170 on and I was wrong. Upgraded my cpu to an i7 9700k and now ram slots 3 and 4 no longer work. I don’t know why I buy Asus, maybe it’s the way they look or the reputation they have but I have had nothing but bad luck with them for years. It’s great when you get a good one but the fact that you have to either RMA or buy it again is just not right. I have a Strix z390-e coming, if that one doesn’t work correctly, then I will never buy an Asus mobo again.

This has treated me so well so far. Installation was incredibly easy, all pins and ports are well labeled on the motherboard itself and the guide was also very easy to look through for any clarification. The RGB on it is so satisfying. My only complaint is that the Asus Aura program won't download on my computer, but that is apart from the motherboard itself and I wouldn't even factor that in to my review of this motherboard. I'm running an i7 with an AIO cooler attached to it and the installation for that was easy as well.
The only considerations I might mention is that if you are building in a mid size tower you may run into some spacing problems with the additional side heat sink where the main RGB also sits. When installing my radiator I was unable to make it sit fully flush with the screw brackets as the pop out on the motherboard is a couple mm too far out for my case. If you are mounting vertically on the front fans or have a large/longer case I doubt this will be a problem for you. Everything else has worked wonderfully, easy installation for the GPU and RAM. The six full SATA ports have also been really great. No issues in terms of heat, though I am running 8 fans in an airflow case so that may not be indicative depending on how you choose to vent and manage temp.
Absolutely recommend, solid middle of the line board price wise, performance has been nothing but my best expectations thus far.

Best white build board you can buy!
This is a fantastic board it has one caveat though if you have RGB that’s 5V you are going to have a problem, if you have RGB that’s a 12V you’re good. this board does not have a 3 pin system( there is supposedly there is a adapter device out there and you can buy to convert it but that means you’re putting more money) only 4pin so keep that in mind when you’re doing your RGB. That being said this is my only possible downside to this board. If you’re doing a white build ,this is definitely the one, money it is money for the price... it’s fantastic and allows me to keep on budget! It might be cheap but your not getting a cheap board, it’s affordable but quality wise it is not cheap. Unless something changes I say buy it!!!

Problem board
Continual issues. Never had a mobo with so many problems before. I thought the BIOS just needed updating to get rid of the bsod, but I was wrong. Computer froze one day and now refuses to turn back on. I’ve narrowed it down to the mobo. Returning ASAP if I still can.

Good Middle-Level Motherboard
Some Pros:
It has two on-board M.2 Slots.
Supports all the current fast speeds, mostly, including four Gen2 USB ports.
Aura RGB is fun to play with.
A TPM add-on is available for security.
Some Cons:
Gen 2 is not supported on the front USB-C connector.
Only one internal USB 3 header.
If you plan on using SATA for more than a few drives, it has to share bandwidth with other ports or slots.
Many colored light things are aRGB, and this doesn't have an aRBG header, only two RGB headers.
It has two on-board M.2 Slots.
Supports all the current fast speeds, mostly, including four Gen2 USB ports.
Aura RGB is fun to play with.
A TPM add-on is available for security.
Some Cons:

Beware of the headers!!
I was so excited to get this board it fit my new build perfectly. I have never owned an ASUS board, however, had had EVGA, MSI, ASRock, and most recently (which this board replaced) a Gigabyte Aorus. Installation was a breeze but I should have done my research a little better. This board does not have any 5v RGB headers. In fact it only has two 12v headers. The problem I have is that I got the Lian Li PC-011 case and the front distribution plate made specifically for this case by EKWB. The connector for the RGB is 5v. So yeah I’m out of luck. The worst part is I didn’t do my homework prior to the build. It is too much of a hassle to take everything apart and send it back. So my advice, do your homework better than I did. Make sure everything you are using is compatible with this board. It does look really nice and works great.

DO NOT BUY!!!!
Don’t buy this from amazon. Bought one the first time and it literally wouldn’t even POST. Spoke to an Asus rep and we tried everything to fix it and nothing. Told me to return it to amazon and get another one. I did that. The new one literally came in the mail today. Had enough time to set it up. It did boot successfully the first time. Then I get a blue screen on my PC. It shuts down and I turn it back on just to get stuck on an error that says “over current detected system will shut down in 15 seconds.” I disconnect ALL usb cables to isolate the issue but still the SAME error occurs. I open my case and remove the USB cable that connects from my case to the MOBO and STILL the same freaking issue. Then right now it won’t even give me that error the MOBO just turns on and literally no signal at all to my monitor. I love Asus and their products but what in God’s name is going on here amazon?? This is my SECOND Asus prime Z390-A MOBO I purchased from you guys that has problems. I even told the amazon rep I don’t want a damn refund I want this mobo I ordered to WORK. This is so frustrating and annoying beyond comprehension.

I know this is supposed to be a bidness' board.....but it had all the stuff I was looking for in an HTPC board. The VRM isn't going to let you clock this safely.....but there are other mITX boards out there for that. There is a Dell Alienware brick that fits this @ 180W. It's 7.4 x 5mm at the plug. That was enough juice to run an i7 with onboard graphics, 1TB M2 card, and 16 gigs of RAM. In all, this build went very smoothly, looks clean, and hasn't hiccuped yet.

I am using these in some fanless PC builds. They are great for compact builds. The TPM is nice to have for Bitlocker encryption. If you want to know what power adapter to use check out the approved devices list on ASUS's website. You will likely need to update the BIOS before it will detect your hardware. I had an M.2 SSD that was initially not detected.
So if you are not technically able to do that, then this board is not for you. This is likely the issue that the other reviewers are having.

Does not support 9th generation CPU's right out of the box as it states in the description. You will need to purchase or if you already have an 8th gen CPU and update the BIOS.

It did not work. I turned it on and the fan turned on a few seconds then turned off. I tried different power supplies differnt cpu, different mem .. nothing. I finally sent it back.

No arranca y tiene toda la energia del mundo.
En la foto se ve un ventilador en el fondo de la caja, en el frontal el que conozca la caja sabe que hay otro ventilador más grande si se fijan tiene puesto un disipador grande. Los tres funciona la foto esta hecha sin la tarjeta grafica pero tambien funciona el ventilador de esta................ Lo que no entiendo que todo funcione, pero no haga un pitido ni salga la Bios. por lo demás, fácil de poner entra todo a la primera no es dificil en leer el manual y poner los cables. No tiene pega alguna,. salvo que no puedo entrar a la Bios.

Ideal para montarse un hackintosh barato y 100% funcional
Una estupenda placa base si queréis montaros un hackintosh. Súper compatible con el software de apple sin que os dé dolores de cabeza el instalarlo. También incluí el procesador i3 de novena generación (9100) y 16gb de ram Crucial y a funcionar con Catalina sin ningún problema.

me llego antes de lo previsto me ha gustado la placa base y esta nueva lo prefiero nueva antes que usada gracias Amazon sois los mejores cuando abrí la caja me quede impresionado y lo tenia todo las instrucciones el disco de los drivers el manual la chapa trasera de la placa y el clip de la memoria SSD M.2 de la placa y dos cables SATA

No tuve suerte con la placa base
Compré la configuración completa, no tuve suerte con la placa base, lamentablemente no funciona, cambié la fuente, la memoria, no da señales de vida, la caja de la placa base tiene rastros de uso, no hay tornillos. Lo devolví, ahora tengo que esperar a que Amazon autorice el reembolso para comprar otro. Me alegro de que sea amazon.
