i bought this card to connect my desktop PC win8/64bit through wireless to my timecapsule (2TB). the distance from PC to timecapsule/access point is about 25 feet - wood construction house/one thin wall in between. the connection is stable but WAY too slow - it works for surfing the internet just fine. i get around 600 - 700 kB/s down link which is the speed of my internet connection. but accessing timecapsule's internal hard drive: uplink around 4MB/s (i can live with that), BUT down link averages less than 800 kB/s, sometimes it would even time out for a second or two (0 kB/s) and slowly go up to 800 kB/s again. if connected through ethernet/LAN (RJ45) i get around 30MB/s up and down - that's the limit of the time capsule. now, i'm aware that the 300Mbit/s (37.5MB/s) are under optimal circumstances... but, common, that's way less than 7% of the theoretical speed - a joke! FYI: i tried pretty much every single driver i could find on the internet (asus and ralink websites) and on the CD that came with the card... the result is more or less the same. oh yes, and the speed results are nearly the same no matter if connected on 2.4GHz or 5GHz band... i suggest you buy another product - at least until ASUS releases a decent driver for win8/64bit... shame on you, ASUS!

After about 3 weeks of use... This card is a tad more expensive than the majority of no-name wireless adapters. But it is worth. every. penny. I strongly do not recommend the Asus graphic front-end; but all you need to do is specify that you wish to use the Windows(tm) interface - and you will not be bothered by any additional information.Signal strength is very good and throughput is the best that I have ever had on the PC that has this adapter installed in.If the utility wouldn't intrude as badly as it does; it wouldn't be a bother.

I try use wireless technology all throughout my home but When I use my gaming PC I have been using a 50ft Ethernet cable.Now this card allows me to run my gaming PC using wireless as well. I have seen no speed difference and now I don't trip over the cabling in my house.Once I installed the card (2 minuets max) I went to the ASUS webpage and downloaded the driver.In under 10 minuets I installed the card and was up and running.

When I can get it connected to the wireless network, the speeds are extremely slow. My iPhone and iPad download at 25+ Mbps, this card gets about 1.5 Mbps. I am assuming something is defective with the card, because 50% of the time I can't get it to connect at all and I have to disable the card and start over.Do not recommend.
