POSITIVES:
- Great screen
- Very clear video
- Very clear harmon/kardon sound
- Lots of room for two side-by-side windows, one for web development, one for browser
- Use my Mac for video conferencing.
- Never have to switch windows. Keep them open all of the time.
NEGATIVES:
- Screen does not move up and down, so I have to put it on a 6" stand to sit behind my Mac screen and not block.
- Controls not easy to manipulate or figure out.
- Audio control is so hard to get to, I don't bother adjusting it.
OVERALL:
- AMAZING MONITOR! Well worth the $$$.
- Significantly improves my productivity as a web/mobile developer.
- Great screen
- Very clear video

I read a lot of reviews before I bought this monitor. Even this model had some very negative reviews, but if you're interested in a 23-25" 1080P monitor with an HDMI input (this model has two) and integrated speakers, I think this one is a good choice.
Setup is very easy. All you have to do is attach the one-piece stand, no tools required. The cord to the approximately 1.5" x 4" x 1" transformer is a good length to reach the floor, and the AC end of the cord is separate, so you could swap that end out for a longer cord if needed.
The menu buttons are easy to reach on the bottom-right of the bezel.
Notable is that the MX259HS does come with an HDMI cable, though that's listed as "optional" in the manual.
The picture is sharp, the colors are good. I'm using the monitor in a fairly bright room with lots of windows, and have not had any issues with reflections on the screen. It's plenty bright even with the blue light filter set on "3".
I found the screen to be a little too dim with the blue light filter on "4", the maximum setting, but I think it would be fine in a darker room or at night.
This model does have 3 W stereo speakers that I have found to be more than adequate for the occasional video or for some background music. At 3 W, they're not going to be filling a large room with sound, but they work great at a workstation or in a small office without the clutter that external speakers would involve.
I would have given the monitor a five-star rating but the menus are a bit clumsy, and it's difficult for me to read the little icons for the various buttons when I have something bright on the screen. The menu is certainly no worse than any of the other monitors I've used, but it's no better, either. The monitor does support different "Spendid" modes and has the adjustable blue light filter, both of which some users may want to adjust now and then, making easy to use menus more important. I wouldn't rule out this monitor for the menus, but it keeps it from getting a five-star rating from me.
Overall, I'm very happy with it.

I have noticed that they have bunched a lot of reviews together here for different models, so I wanted to specify that I have the Designo Curve MX38VC 37.5" . The monitor is great but it has one MAJOR flaw. There are no volume buttons! You have to go three levels deep into the settings menu to turn the volume down. I have never seen anything like it and it is so frustrating! I am going from USB-C to USB-C, the interface does not offer a OS volume control either. The speaker is grey'd out so it may be a limitation with that cabling and MacOS, but still, what a fatal flaw to not have physical volume buttons on the monitor. I tried to call ASUS support online, and it has turn't into a maze. Apparently their quality has went way down hill.

I bought this for a home office. The picture quality (when I can get the controls set right) is excellent, but the experience is horrible and I would not buy it because of the awful controls. They were designed solely for looks and not for the person who actually has to use them. To start, the symbols for which control is which are etched into the metal so they are almost impossible to see, and they are jammed close together. The touch controls themselves are each about the size of a grain of rice, and ridiculously sensitive. It's almost impossible to figure out which control does what, and then the menus jump around the screen and are impossible to control. Just annoying. Here's an idea, why not design the controls so that they are intuitive, easy to find, and easy to use.

So let me clarify, I am NOT a gamer so I am not going to review this as a gaming monitor (though I imagine it is wonderful for that purpose). I bought the 38" curved monitor for my recording studio. I use a MacBook Pro as a desktop with thunderbolt connected to this monitor. The screen is massive, clear and bright - though not quite like the retina display of a Mac. I haven't tested the speakers much, but what I did hear out of them was pretty good. The added feature of a qi wireless charging pad is amazing. I was able to charge my phone on it while I worked on some mixes yesterday. If you're looking for a solution for your studio, this is a great option. There are plenty of input options, so if you want to use this for more than one purpose, look no further.

I just got this monitor. Right away, I am annoyed with two things. 1) it doesn’t include HDMI cable. Instead, it includes HDMI to VDI cable. 2) The controls are a real pain to work with.
I have not come across a single equipment in recent history that has VDI connection. My docking station or computer don’t have this. So now, I have to go out and buy another cable so I can use the monitor. Very frustrating.
And the controls have tiny mouse like balls included. They are very sensitive to the touch and seem to move only in one direction. The labels for these controls are also hard to read if the light is not falling on the correct way.
This is my first Asus purchase. Not at all good start.

I have Irlen Syndrome and bought this monitor specifically for the Eye Care technology. It has provided much relief! I can now work all day without any discomfort or having to take several eye-breaks. I also am able to use it without wearing my Irlen glasses. My only complaint is the settings panel is a PIA.
The speaker quality is surprisingly good, but I recommend using a Bluetooth soundbar if you plan to connect a HDMI streaming device. Otherwise, the speaker volume is hit or miss depending on which app you're using, and you can't adjust it with the device remote. Also keep in mind you'll probably want to change the display mode when switching back and forth between using a PC and streaming device, which is a minor PIA.

I was looking for an ultra wide monitor, and picked this one because of previous good experience with Asus monitors. This one is just what I wanted. It is big, wide, QHD (3840x1600), and gorgeous. Very fast setup, no problems, and no dead or stuck pixels. This is primarily for work, and it is good enough for gaming for me. I recommend for anyone looking for more screen space for serious work.

I used to have a triple monitor setup with a stand. Every time Nvidia did an update the configuration would reset (even though i saved it). I grew tired of messing with it so went for one large monitor. I love this thing, great picture for gaming, uses display port and HDMI hook ups. The speakers are a little weak but I mostly use a headset anyways. Plus I am loyal to ASUS products as I never had an issue with any of their products.

This monitor should not carry the Eye Care branding. I own 4 other Asus eye care monitors and this one does not stack up! The blacks are a dark grey at best and my eyes fatigue noticeably faster than when using the other monitors. Extremely poor execution from Asus and I've been disappointed with this monitor when text is involved (which is 90+% of the time for me). There are other aspects of the monitor I like, but with such a poor contrast ratio I can't score this any higher.

I bought for use with work. It is great to have all the space to open different things on the desktop! Works very well with recent model of MacBook Pro.
I greatly recommend it for the display quality and all other features, like the Qi charger and speakers.

I personally think it is perfect for Xbox. I use it with my One S & play Rocket League or Cod/PubG/Apex and you notice a huge difference in response time. When I go back to my 50” LG 4K it feels slow and laggy even with the lag delay settings set to make it run as smooth as possible. TV’s aren’t meant for gaming, wish I would have got a monitor 10 years ago when I was 16 gaming all the time haha this is my second time buying this same monitor only because I knocked it over and it broke. Definitely worth it.

This monitor has a signal that it has been repaired, the vega function does not work for you and you can listen very low to the sound, I wish I could change it to another model.

This screen is wide. The picture quality is good and I haven't had much eye strain. Easy to adjust brightness. It only seems to pan up or down not left or right without the whole base moving.

Great picture quality and features. The volume and brightness settings built into the stand base are especially cool. Also, the curved display is a nice feature.
There's no thunderbolt 3 input port tho, so newer Apple Macbook users Will have to purchase a thunderbolt 3 to HDMI adapter for extended desktop screen functionality.
