It is very well made and aesthetically pleasing in terms of design and after about two months has been working very well. The blue light filter is a nice touch and especially since Asus also offers this with my laptop, so the integration there is very pleasant.
I also appreciate that there is HDMI and VGA, especially since I already have a VGA to HDMI adapter so I can essentially use two HDMI inputs and swap between them which is a nice plus. There is an available option with a DisplayPort as well if you prefer that. I do not.
Only complaints I would have are the button layout on the back being a little awkward to adjust the monitor settings (but you get the hang of it after the first one or two times) and the screen's bezel is not quite as slim as you would think before turning it on (there is a black bezel that's maybe 1/4" all the way around from the edge of the display, but you hardly notice it after about 5 minutes of use).
I am personally NOT a PC gamer, however I DON'T think I would recommend this monitor to someone who is a true graphics purist. 27" is a LOT of screen area and 1080p is not a very high resolution (relatively speaking). You could absolutely game on it and it has a moderate refresh rate so it won't be terrible, but I feel like someone who spends serious money on a graphics card should consider either a smaller screen (maybe 22" or 24") OR they should spend the extra money and get a 4k 27" monitor. This is more general purpose and definitely not ideal for high FPS gaming.
Overall this is probably one of the better PC monitors on the market for its price point. Asus continues to impress me with the quality of their products, they really have come a long way in terms of their product design, performance, aesthetics and build quality. You will not be disappointed.

• Color was very washed out and could not be brought to decent fidelity with any amount of manipulation to the native controls or via OS-based calibration.
• Contrast was dismal. A decent black level seemed impossible to attain. Remember the days of laptops that lacked active matrix displays? Yeah... it almost looked like that.
• Sharpness was... well, it just wasn't. Text looked annoyingly fuzzy, and couldn't be effectively sharpened to any comfortable degree.
The ONLY thing I liked about it I (hence 2 stars) was that it really nailed borderless design. The bezel was incredibly thin, and even the inactive, masked border around the active pixel area was negligible. Unfortunately, if everything inside the four corners looks awful, it doesn't really matter how subtle and vanishing those corners and edges are.
I've recommended Asus displays as surprisingly good budget options in the past, but after this, I can't anymore. I returned it in less than 24 hours.

If you're planning to game competitively, you might want to opt for a panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz or more. For all other single-player and RTS titles, this monitor does a great job with low latency and gorgeous colors.
A reviewer mentioned that colors on this monitor are washed out and contrast is bad. This is because for some reason Nvidia graphics cards set the color range to "Limited" when it's first connected. You can change this from the Nvidia Control Panel in the Change Resolution panel. Make sure to set the display to 75Hz, output color format to "RGB", output color depth to "8 bpc" and output dynamic range to "Full". If 75Hz isn't available, make sure to select the "1920x1080" option under the "PC" heading and NOT the "1080p, 1920x1080" option.

Now I have to go through their product support team, which is asking me to ship the monitor to them and they will repair and ship it back in 10 business days, so 2-3 weeks without a monitor. Spend more and go with a better brand and product.
