Did I mention I love this watch. Well worth the money. ❤️💜
I had an amazfit2 for almost 4 years and decided it was time for an upgrade and I was between the bip and the active, I went with the active based on functions it said it provided and reviews from others.
Charging ability:
No issues and seemingly great battery life
Accuracy:
Terrible on sleep accuracy , it either says I'm up for hours in the middle of the night when I'm asleep or cuts my sleep time off at random intervals like I slept last night 11-8 it shows I slept from 11-3, it's consistently incorrect every night one way or another.
Connectivity:
Answering calls seems to be spotty but texts seem to be fine, no issues with pairing it to my phone . I like the watch face choices
App quality:
I'm used to the app and have no issues with my way around but it can be confusing if you're not familiar with it
Overall I want to try the bip now because of the sleep inaccuracy , sensitivity of this watch face going off even tho I have it set to not and how easily it picks up steps when it's even briefly shaken - etc. I feel like I'm not happy enough to keep this product long term.
I decided to purchase a new version of the watch, and I am truly impressed by it. The watch face is larger, though not significantly so. It offers much greater functionality and features a wide array of attractive watch faces.
One surprising feature is that when I receive a motion detection alert from the doorbell on my phone, my previous Amazfit watch would only display the text notification. In contrast, this new watch not only shows the text alert but also provides a still image from the doorbell camera.
I do agree with the other users that setting it up wasn’t very simple. The app that set it up is not good.
Me encanta!!
De todas formas, averigüe previo a la compra. Lo recomiendo sin dudas!!
I would gave it 4 stars if the above problems corrected.
Update:
One can set water drinking reminder starting and ending times on the watch's Water time app. As for progress reminder, it's acceptable since it reminds during the day. Sleeping monitor's wake-up time sometimes is inaccurate. I recommend this watch.
I didn't like the new circular version. For whatever reason I don't like them, screens are supposed to be a rectangle in my mind and fits more naturally. This is very similar in size and design to an Apple Watch. Just way less expensive and the battery lasts like 10x longer.
I decided to keep the watch and now I'm sorry I did. I finally got my watch connected to Alexa and now I am living the adage "Be careful what you wish for!". Now, every 2 to 5 minutes my watch vibrates and I get the message "Alexa" and nothing more. I have disconnected my Alexa account, to no avail. It is so annoying that I have stopped wearing my watch. I've looked online and I've seen that this is a problem with this watch. There is no way to remove Alexa and I've run out of ideas as to how to fix this. So disappointed as I really like to watch when I first got it. But now, with this Alexa glitch and not being able to use custom watch faces, it's not worth the extra money I paid.
When I first got this watch I was really happy with it. I liked that I could create my own watchface. I uploaded a picture of our Christmas tree and used it over the holidays.
Today, I decided to change my watch face to a picture of the Baltimore Ravens. I soon discovered that I am no longer able to upload a picture to create the custom watchface.
Also, I bought this watch because it said it was Alexa enabled. I get a message that says "Please update Zepp app to the latest version and complete Amazon account authorization in profile" whenever I try to use Alexa on my watch. However, I have the latest version of Zepp. And whenever I try to link my watch to my Amazon account in the Zepp app, it just spins and never connects. Consequently, I do not have Alexa on my watch.
I can buy a much less expensive watch to do what this watch does, without the customization and Alexa abilities.
I have a week until I can return this watch and I'm seriously thinking of doing so. I paid more for these options and are not getting what I paid for.
The Zepp App, needed for functionality of the watch, no longer allows for birthdates less than 13 years, meaning the parental consent option is no longer available.
It's a shame because these really are good watches especially for their price point.
It looks sleek, feels super light on the wrist, and the display is bright and clear—even in the sun. It’s been perfect for tracking steps, sleep, and even controlling my music while I cook. The system runs smoothly and is very easy to use.
The battery life is solid, and it charges quickly too. I’ve been wearing it daily and it hasn’t disappointed. If you want a smartwatch that looks good and does the job without costing a fortune, this one’s a no-brainer
Pros
1. Long battery life. I haven't thoroughly tested this yet with daily workouts, but based on my experience so far, I think the manufacturer's claim of 14 days is not unreasonable.
2. Measurements of heart rate, blood oxygen contents, and exercise distances are in sync with info from other devices.
3. Bright display. Easy to see in bright sunlight even with the brightness setting at about 75%.
4. Built in GPS is accurate, and I like not having to carry my phone with me anymore.
5. A fairly good selection of free watch faces, especially if you like analog vs. digital displays.
6. I wear the watch nearly 24 hrs./day and find the silicone strap to be comfortable. I am going to replace it with a hook and loop strap, however, because my wrist size falls within two of the notches.
7. Ability to store and play music from the watch. The quality of the built-in speaker is poor, but what can you expect from a tiny speaker that sits against your wrist? Sound quality using earbuds is fine.
8. There are many other features that I haven't explored yet like an exercise coach, voice activated commands and Alexa. They seem to have good potential.
9. Good price. The Active model has many of the features of the more expensive Amazfit models.
Cons
1. The sleep app is so inaccurate as to be useless. When I wake up in the middle of the night and read to get back to sleep, the app will show me sleeping, sometimes in a deep sleep. The "score" the app assigns to the sleep quality seems to be a number plucked out of thin air.
2. While there is a so-so manual for the watch itself, documentation for the Zepp app is totally lacking. The Zepp web site has an FAQ section that answers questions about the company itself and nothing about how to use the Zepp app. The app is loaded with features, but to figure them out requires a trial-and-error meandering through the various screens.
Now the two big ones:
3. The left-right swipe sensitivity is hit and miss, sometimes taking multiple tries before the watch responds.
4. The watch lacks a double tap to wake up the display feature. I can't always raise my wrist to wake up the display and the small side button is difficult to operate. Interestingly, if you tap the display within 1-2 seconds of it going dark it will awaken. It seems like the ability is there but not outside of that small period. I raised the question with Amazfit support, and the AI generated response gave me a path to follow in the watch settings app. When I responded that the final step that would enable the double tap was not there, AI said that not all models have that ability. Thanks a lot!
I have been using an Amazfit Band 7 for the past 15 months, and it has both a double tap feature and a sensitive swipe. Why Amazfit can't incorporate both in a watch costing twice as much as the Band 7 is beyond me. Maybe a future software update will resolve both issues.
I want to assign 5 stars to an otherwise perfect-for-me watch, but these two flaws cause me to knock it back to just four.
Shortly after trying on this watch I knew there was a problem when the watch was telling me I had completed my fat burn (elevated heart rate that burns calories) excercise for the day and I had just gotten up from the breakfast table.
One other issues is the size of the watch and band. I'm 5'8" and the watch looks and feels small on my wrist. There is only one notch left on the band when I buckle it up.
Note: This is just my experience with the watch, it may work out pefectly for someone else. The battery life is amazing and would likely be a great fit on a smaller wrist.
The new Amazfit Active is nice because it doesn't have a crown and has a button instead which I like. The crown sticks out a bit and I sometimes would hit it when bending my wrist while wearing work gloves.
Pros:
- Light and simple
- No crown
- Screen is clear and bright
- Band anchors are lower and closer to the watch which makes the watch body more compact
- Band is soft and comfortable
Cons:
- No ambient light sensor or auto brightness?
- Screen glass is has rounded edges so no way to use a glass screen protector
- Charging cable is short
- Charging cable can only be used in one orientation
The charging cable is really short, maybe a foot long. Of course the charging cable and stand I got for my GTS 4 is incompatible for the Active.
The watch itself is nice. I love the square design of it, it's much lighter than the Samsung and Apple watches. The battery so far is great. Once some of the third party apps become compatible with the Active it will be an almost perfect watch.
