Great product with only one con.
It's a massive improvement from the old H1. The H1n features an amazing display and intuitive bittons which makes all the difference in the world. The sound quality however is exactly the same as the old one but I'd say that the build quality and other ergonomical improvements are worth the upgrade, as it's still quite affordable.
The only negative thing i can say about it is that it absolutely needs a wind filter, preferably a deadcat, at all times as the diaphragms are extremely sensitive to wind. I can't stress it enough. But that's okay as you'd need a wind screen for any microphone for outdoor use, however, with this one, the position of the input level adjustment dial is placed so far up toward the mics that any wind screen (i have a deadcat) completely blocks access to it. If you can live with it, which frankly isn't that big of an issue, I'd highly recommend it.

Satisfied
Price dropped(Rs 5950) after a day of purchase. Got it for 6300. I don't mind that much since there is no store in my city who sells this product, but Amazon's integrity does bother me.
As for the product it is powerful in fact very powerful my house is next to the main road and it picks up everything. I bought a wind shield (it made a huge difference-a must have for h1n), went to the farthest room for road, closed everything(window, door, fans , etc) and recorded something. It turned out fine after some editing.
Its an omnidirectional mic of course it would pick up everything around it, but that's exactly what I want with this product.
If you want to record your voice or any instrument then go for a cardoid mic. If you want to record both and more-like a band go for h1n.
Suggestions - know your product before buy.

HONEST REVIEW
Not a great product. Pretty average. I found my redmi note 5 pro recorder to be better :p because of its noise cancellation feature. But this recorder is better than phone recorder if you know the functions properly.
The UI is not that good and buttons are like they will go bad in a year.

Worst product on amazon....trust me.
This is completely waste of money. I bought this one year back since then I'm just struggling with it. The built qulaity is worst. They could not find worst plastic for this 6000 rupees thing.Battery drainage was the another major issue. So I got the rechargeable battery. Now all of sudden it has stopped working. Could nkt find any customer care no. Or Any service center . Its under warranty but don't know what to do now. With all this I could never get satisfactory voice quality.

stay away students
This is the third class chinese product. The operation is too much clumsy. I am using Sony Ic recorder since 4 years. Compare to sony this recorder is not handy, recording quality is not as good and it is very very difficult to operate and to carry. Certainly not pocket friendly. Not at all useful for students who record the lectures of their professors. As a student I comfortably keep my sony recorder beneath my notebook and record. But it is not possible with zoom due to its weird design. I dont know what prompted me to take the wrong decision. I am regretting.

I like the build quality and recording quality
Although it runs on two AAA sized alkaline batteries, H1n can be connected to the computer via a usb cable and can be made to work on bus power (will work as default mic of windows machines)
Could have given a noise cutter with it though. When we increase the gain value, wind noise is prominent (unless we cover the mic with some noise cutting material)

Decent but arrived with a fauly USB cable
Got this via a daily deal for 5.5K. I've been using the H1n for a couple of weeks. The build quality is average at best and I suspect that some of the buttons will face issues in a couple of years. The product works well although the menu system is a bit wonky. The sound quality is excellent.
My shipment came with a faulty USB cable. Connecting the H1n to the PC using it resulted in no response. Using my phone's cable worked. I contacted Amazon for a replacement cable, but they only offered to replace the entire package which I didn't want. So I've just gotten myself a separate USB cable locally. For new buyers, test if the USB cable works as soon as you receive the product. Once you connect the H1n to a PC and switch it on, the display should offer an Audio and USB option. If you don't see this, the cable is dodgy.

The MOST VERSATILE Microphone ! LEGENDARY
I have used this mic to record samples, vocals, guitars, drums, interviews and what not.
I even use this mic to practice for my gigs as it has a headphone output jack to monitor audio.
The dial for the volume also comes in handy to rotate to the perfect volume.

Fantastic product
Fantastic product. Though, there is a learning curve because H1n is not merely a 'recorder' ; it has lots of features to get the correct sound, which can be figured out due to many tutorials online. Loving every bit of using it, esp due to its size. Wish, the product box had atleast a USB cable or atleast 1 of the things which you get in the H1n acce pack. Delivered on time.

Good budget mic for filmmakers
Good for film sounds. If you need to capture ambient sounds for your short movie or any video, this will do the job for you. The capture quality is really good and you can record at 96khz. Make sure you have a deadcat or a windscreen to reduce wind noise if you are capturing outdoor sounds. Since this is a condenser mic, it pics up lot of ambient sound and since this has only one polar pattern, you do not have much control. If you are looking more control and professional quality, go for the H4.

Do consider getting if you are serious about audio quality
If you are in media production, video making, having an external recorder is the way to go. It gives far better quality than any camera internally. Even with high quality microphones, your camera’s internal Pre-Amps will produce self generated noise. Dedicated recorders (both with and without input mics) records clear audio. H1N is the best option for beginners or budget film makers.
Keep in mind, it has single input unlike H4 or other higher models which are capable of giving you independent channels for dialogues, interviews etc.

It took my expectations and threw it out the window because this thing is good
it's also smaller than I expected.
Pros:
- 10/10 Quality
- WAV format recording
- MP3 is also available
- Low cut helps with wind reduction
- The gain knob is easy to use
- Playback features are also good
- IT ACTS AS A AUDIO INTERFACE
for the people who want this for voiceovers, it uses asio to record directly to your computer
- Great battery life
- Android/IOS support (Depends on your phone, it works on my honor 8 and iPhone 7 plus)
- Can be mounted on a tripod
But it does have some cons:

Must buy tool for serious musicians & creative professionals. Awesome price to performance ratio.
I am a musician who plays various stringed instruments. I use this recorder for ideation, learning & live recordings, creating demo recordings for self-reference. I feel that this is an amazing tool for those who are serious about music and need a handy device for outdoor/indoor & a makeshift studio microphone for a basic home studio setup.
Currently I am using this recorder for Sitar, Guitar & Percussion sounds. From learning to live events, this one will always be recording because it allows me to get back to my performances or practise & get an amazing feedback on the mistakes I made or to never miss out on new ideas etc.
Additionally, I got it running with a 128 GB Scandisk memory card. The trick is to format the partition & the partition table with FAT (not exFAT or FAT32). This allows me to use around 120GB of space while the recorder shows over 900 hours of recording time. The only down side is power cycle (power on) takes a few seconds more as it probably tries to explore 120 GB worth SD card space.
Will research on the appropriate rechargeable batteries and update the post in a few months. For now any standard heavy duty AAA battery pair seems to be quite sufficient.
Well nothing in this world is perfect (I wonder if the word perfect is perfect itself?), so here is the critique.
Build quality seems to be a bit unsatisfactory, the tool feels like a single unit & feels quite sturdy & robust but well, could be better built & finished but for this price ratio & the quality of audio recording provided, its absolutely Amazing! I wonder if the higher range premium Zoom recording devices are better finished & feel more awesome to carry around!

I had already done my research prior to buying this recorder, but maaaaaan....... This tiny recorder absolutely BLEW my mind. The level of texture and audio this tiny piece of tech acquires is INSANE!!! And it all comes in an extremely tiny package!! EXTREMELY tiny!
Moreover, it can even be used as an individual audio interface and you can record vocals right into your DAW!

Good product for beginners
It is a very good product for beginners. The sound recording capabilities are just one level up. I would recommend using this instead of buying a boom mic. It allows to change the audio levels in real time. If you are a beginner and don't know much about sound recording, this is one of the cheapest and better options to go to.
Pros: Light and compact, sturdy, good build quality, can be mounted on a tripod etc. It allows you to record high quality sounds. You can plug other mics to it that are using 3.5mm jack. You can actually hear the audio you have are listening in real time so that you can monitor the levels of gain and other settings
Cons: Does not last very long on batteries 5-6 hrs or less. if you use it for recording interviews, chances are it will die out in 15-20 mins, would recommend using it with a power bank. It sometimes picks up other signals causing interference. Would recommend buying a foam or wind screen for the mic. It looks very delicate, can be easily broken if not handled carefully.
Summary: I would recommend it to someone starting out, especially with YouTube videos or talk shows etc, this will definitely help you get that quality you are looking for. I bought it for around 6200 rupees. Will upload an audio sample if you guys are interested, let me know

Perfect audio tool!
You just can't judge by the size of it. The newer version especially with the volume knob control made me feel like a pro sound engineer on a film set. Frequency response is amazing. Recorded a whole drum solo about 5ft away from the drums and the audio was sooo good i literally use this on all the video projects and helps a lot on any live video recordings when the sound guy doesn't let you record from his mixer.

Great recorder
I have not given a 5-star rating for beginners because without any tutorials, you have to learn how it works through a trial and error method. However, it was not very difficult to know how it works and the WAV 44 MHz format gives great quality audio. Noise cancellation is actually not too good and a wind muffler (dead cat) is a necessity. My overall rating, however, is 5-star.

Best recorder. Multipurpose use.
Crystal clear sound....even work for daily classes...audio out is just magnificent. You can use audio out to directly speakers with 3.5 mm audio jack. Recordings are amazingly better than original sound. It works for my guitar recordings. Best product from amazon.

BEST FIELD MICROPHONE
What only Some people will tell u that it comes with
" CUBASE 10.5 and WAVE LABS software bundle which may be a Steal for people into Music Production. It definitely sounds better than your cameras inbuilt microphone, a little plasticy but it Job well in terms of sound quality, captures Live Drums, Guitars and other instruments very well, if you plug a BOYA BYM1 into it you get a wireless lav mic with awesome quality . i recommend it to youtubers, vloggers, and every cinematographer.

Good voice recorder
The sound quality is very clear but the recorder should be placed at a distance of maximum 24 to 30 inches from the source of sound. Also, it is sold without any accessories, not even the 32 GB SD sound card which is required before you can start using the recorder. The accessories consist of a pouch, a small tripod stand, a charger etc and are sold separately for Rs 2600/- which is overpriced.

All in one recording device
This is a multi purpose device. Use wind shield foam or deadcat for better result. You can use it as recorder, Usb microphone, can use as audio interface for any lapel mic. Audio quality is crisp and clear. Its a stereo pattern microphone but better than cheap cardioid patter microphone (Boya BY-MM1). You can pause and resume the recording using play/pause button.

Its a fairly good mic
H1n is a fairly good mic. It's very handy. But plastic used is very cheap and buttons and overall handling feels flimsy. Voice quality is ok. It's an Omni Directional mic so picks sounds from all directions. picks lot of noise on highest gain level. lo cut doesnt always seem to work. BATTERY CONSUMPTION is the worst part; it drains a pair of AAA cells in just a few hours. I use it with a 10k MaH power bank. It lacks BLUETOOTH which would have made it a next level device. I use BT transmitter (in line-out) to connect to a BT earphone which odes the job. But there is a slignt lag in the audio (between the audio source and the receiver). FOR ME, THE BEST PART IS THAT I AM USING A BLUETOOTH TRANSMITTER TO USE IT LIKE A HEARING AID FOR MY AGED FATHER AND HE IS PRETTY HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS. Overall a good device.

Awesome Quality of Recording. Must try if u r looking to record audio of live band.
I am a Musician. I was searching a recorder in my budget n one day i got this Zoom H1N with discounted price on Amazon n i ordered. when i tried this to record my live show n i see OMG this is a great equipment n recording quality is more then i expected. getting very clean audio in even if i put in MP3 360kbps setting. i have recorded both way (inbuilt speaker n cable Input). very handy n friendly to operate. Thank u so much Zoom n also Amazon to providing this kind Music equipment In budget. expecting from Amazon to provide professional Roland Yamaha or Korg's Keyboard, synthesizer with EMi n with great deal. so every musician can afford.

Not very self intuitive
it is difficult to master the recording options, though there is a brochure. I find it very difficult to use, though I think I am used to many gadgets. Recording is fine, but it's sensitive and picks lot of background noise. I am trying some options to keep it down. But overall quality of recording is just ok.

Satisfies both Budget and Production Quality
It’s been over a year since I bought the H1n and I’ve used it for live audio recording while shooting mini documentaries and podcasts.
The best thing to go along with this h1n would be a Microphone Windscreen which costs around 500 rupees maybe. It will reduce wind noises.
It’s a great tool for beginners and has got pretty mature features that makes it a good backup recorder for professionals.

All rounder audio recording options.
The mic really good in terms of stereo sound record. But, There is more noise received by the mic if gain level is set above 7.
About versatility I can do whatever I want. It can be mount directly upon the phone or camera, can connect lav mic or any other mic or handy recording to get more productive sound quality.
The best option among all option is to record voice over or vlogs with lav mic with respect to levels you need. To record ambiences use it as handy recorder. And to record indoors, mount it on your phone or camera.
This is for beginners for sure if you are on a budget then I recommend just upgrade your video quality by changing your camera. There is no need to spent more on audio if you have ZOOM H1N.

Beautiful product
This is an extremely good product at this price. I though gave it 4 stars as I got this for my father-in-law. Since he is not computer savvy, its a bit difficult for him to use. The built in speakers will barely do the job but if you connect it to a larger sound output device, you will love the clarity the device offers.

Defective device. Serial numbers on box and device not matching.
Device stopped working within 3-4 recording. It was defective recording. Then it stopped working. Totally dead. When I was checking the serial number of my Zoom H1N =, I realised that product no on the device and box are different.

Amazon customer care executive is asking to contact the seller directly. Seller not answering my calls. Don’t know what to do. Be careful friends. Some issues with seller.

It is So good ! I got at 7999 ! This product is good and setting are too Good in Gaining,locut, noice cancellation!little bit need to improve in Build quality ! It is totally Made up of plastic except 2 condensor microphones are made up of steel n good ! You can use Earphones To Hear U r sound Gaining level ! U can attach external mic !

Price to Performance ratio, Brilliant
Great for handy audio recording. A beautiful little product. Professional quality audio. Yes now if you compare with the Zoom H6 or H8, then you surely will be wrong. The price to performance ratio is actually way better than expected.

Problem in recording
Dear sir,
This is with reference of this product, here is my feedback and complain.
When I had started using this, first time, I ignored whatever I faced the issue, I found the same issue second time and repeatedly on third time.
What is the problems with this device is that audio breaks during the conversion, If we record 5 mins conversion, it breaks 2 -3 times during the conversation in the record and it is very deficult to voice over this with video.
Requesting, pls take immediate action and replace this with good one.

The pricing of this product makes me feel its actually not worth buying it.
This product is really not worth the price. Its worth not more than 5000. Once you buy it, you have no choice but to "exchange" it. Regardless of damage, or if you are not satisfied with the quality(which is not great either).

Good product, has super clarity.. the noise cancellation is great, adapts itself well to after works at the studio.

Good Sound Quality, Less Durable
I know it sounds absurd if I tell you at first it is a bit hard to learn how to use it but I have made films that really require a good boom mic and i used Zoom H1n instead, still worked...I have earned almost double the amount I have invested on it, so, it's worth every penny.. I'd only ask them to make a metal variant that is a bit more durable...Cracked it once after dropping it.

Worth buying for beginners to give some professional touch to your work
This is awesome, you will think it's little pricey but it's worth it if you are doing recordings on a regular interval. I bought it for my YouTube channel
"Chemistry As It Is" to record the lectures, do checkout to know about voice quality, couldn't add video coz of some issues.
Note if you have iPad or iphone then you need to purchase Adapter else it will be of no use.

Selling my H1n for 5300.
This recorder is just a savoir for beginner use. Gets work done with an professional like output. Although I realised that I don't need this recorder as for my use a collar mic would be best suited. So I'm selling my H1n, I can assure you that it's just as good as new, not damage at all, in prefect condition. Selling it only because I don't require it for my work and didn't realise it earlier. All is said! Worth every penny.
This is the best recorder at this price point. Mine had a USB issue, but the seller appario was prompt to replace and it's been a joy using it. It's in my camera bag abd my go to field recorder. I'm definitely buying another one soon.

1. It feels like cheap plastic, but i think thats to be expected
2. While recording, even if you gently drag your finger anywhere on the body of the recorder, it gets recorded because the entire body acts as a sound chamber.
Suggestion, buy a wind muff or dead cat because when speaking, it picks up the strong air moving too
except that, i think it is great and would have no hesitation recommending it to anyone

Its very good and awesome
As a layman w.r.t the sound Engineering iam giving this review. This is an awesome product you should buy and its almost an year. This mainly i use it for recording the messages. There is huge difference in sound quality w.r.t the sound in the video which we record through phone and the sound quality w.r.t the Zoom.
So as a you tuber, its awesome and very useful.

Good product by zoom actually got earlier one and then replaced after 5 months coz of errors in recording but due to no service center asked for replace to cloud tail and great Amazon services they took it back and refund money then I purchased new with better discount.

This is a great recorder for beginners. It's light and portable and with the accessories available is perfect for simple recordings. Although I'll be using it for a lot more! Will see how long it lasts!

I love this. Perfect for home studio recording, voice over, asmr etc. Quite good actually. Pair it with pop filter and you are good to go. Only down side is ut didnt come with its own noise filter.
