- + Очень понравилась функция авто удаления пустых листов и автовыравнивания. Еще может автоматически переворачивать неправильно ("вверх ногами") вставленные листы. Но срабатывает не всегда.Бывало и нормальный лист повернет на 90 или 180 градусов... Но 90% было адекватен.
В комплекте запасная прокладка.
Хорошая прога PaperPort. - - -Резиновая прокладка, для прижатия листов к валику, быстро стерлась. Заданный ресурс (то ли 10 то ли 15 тыщ. листов) не выработала.

We bought one of these a year ago and after 6000 scans it has stopped scanning on duplex. I suspect that this is a problem with the drivers and "some computers". I am still not sure why this is. It may be the drivers or windows 7 or windows updates. I took it to an engineer who said it was fine.......I saw it working but when I reconnected it to my own computer it froze when scanning duplex.I suspect that this might be a common problem and that people are discarding perfectly good scanners because of this fault.Someone from Xerox should sort it out because I suspect that the product will get a bad name from this incompatibility.The point is that this scanner no longer works.

We have at least 70 to 80 of this model scanner in a large outpatient Medical group.They are excellent when they are working well, but when they fail they fail hard.For the amount that these scanners cost ( the price of this unit is outlandish ) they should work trouble free for 3 years minimum.They come with a 1 year manufacturers warranty which is most definitely not long enough.We have a pile of about 20 defective ones in a closet that are less than 3 years old.And Xerox will send you a "refurbished" model in exchange for a defective one that you send them, but the refurbished ones are even less reliable thantheir new ones so it isn't worth the over 400 dollars they charge for the refurbs.They usually will just fail with an E9 which we found out is a bad sensor or system board. None of the parts are replaceable.Very unhappy with this product in a production environment.

I had a remote office that needed the ability to scan documents so after much searching I ordered this device. We have 3 Xerox copiers that also have the scan-to-email functionality, so I thought it would be easy to set up.Problem is, they seem to use a completely different type of firmware on this device than they do on their copy machines. I was able to give it an SMTP server to send its emails to and was able to hook up a Kyocera printer via a USB cable to use it as a poor man's copier, but wasn't able to get much else working.The most disappointing things was LDAP search. Our other copiers are able search the Active Directory (same directory used by Outlook/Exchange) for a person's email address after they type in a few characters of their name rather than making them type the entire email address. This really comes in handy when you have multiple people using the copier. It's also convenient not having to load new users explicitly into the copier. The only saving grace here is that the scanner remembers the last few typed email addresses so the few people that use this particular scanner don't have to constantly type their full email address.

I've had the DocuMate 252 for several years, which is very similar to the 262. It was a great scanner -- until I upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7. For some inexplicable reason, you cannot use extended USB cables when using the DocuMate scanner with Windows 7 (it stops mid-scan). The extended USB cables work fine on Windows Vista computers, but not on multiple Windows 7 computers I've tried. I checked their Knowledgebase, and sure enough, it indicates that the scanner will stop mid-scan if the cable is longer than 6 feet. This is a communication issue with the print driver, and the driver needs updating for Windows 7. Telling customers to use a shorter USB cable isn't a valid work-around. I cannot recommend a DocuMate scanner if they are too lazy to maintain proper drivers on models they sold only two or three years earlier.

Trash. That's what this is. I just spent the last half hour fishing out a wad of paper that got jammed in the document feed. Everything about this product is appalling.I've been working with this scanner for a couple of months now, and I detest it completely. The tray for the document feeder isn't adjustable. Moreover, it's at such an extreme angle that the feeder tries to eat 10 pages at a time, causing me to rescan a set of documents three, four, maybe even five times. This isn't atypical either, this is the norm.The included software isn't user-friendly and doesn't allow you much control over the image settings of a document. The scan window sits above everything else (even when you've tabbed over to a different application) and eats up some major screen real estate. The recognition software is hilariously bad, and the few sPDFs i've reviewed have produced gobbledygook when copy/pasting. Furthermore, if I'm in DocuShare and right click a folder, why won't it tell me the location of the folder or the physical size it happens to be taking up on the drive?When one of your pages rips and you've got to get the debris out of the feeder (and trust me, this happens on numerous occasions), you'll find yourself unscrewing about 10 or 12 screws only to find that the rollers are nearly inaccessible. Manually feeding page by page sort of defeats the purpose of a high-volume scanner such as this and I shouldn't have to resort to such shennanigans just to get a product to live up to its advertised features.Never in my life have I wanted to take an electronics device and throw it out a window. The DocuMate 632, however, is a hulking piece of waste that I want to cast down from a skyscraper into a trash compactor that will be then summarily detonated with plastic explosives before the Gravedigger monster truck comes along and pancakes the flaming wreckage. I passionately hate this device with every fiber of my being. And to come on Amazon and be struck with such sticker shock (upwards of $1,000? Really? This isn't a joke? Are you sure? I mean...really?) was really the final straw.Avoid this machine as if it were covered in bubonic plague laced with leprosy.

This scanner arrived with an incorrect power adapter in the box. Xerox customer service replaced it for the correct one promptly. The software that comes with the scanner is not usable on newer systems. As described in the product description it works with Windows XP and older. I have Windows 7 and I got this to work with the help of Xerox customer service and buying the Paperport 12 scanning software from Nuance for $100(the scanner comes with version 9). More work and expense than anticipated. I am happy with it now.

I've had this scanner about five years now, and it still performs fine. You do have to replace the springs that grab paper every few thousand sheets. (I've probably scanned 30 or 40 thousand pages or so). I did not find the included software worked particularly, so I got Abbyy FineReader, which works very well for OCR and scanning. Still, installation was not smooth (this has no doubt improved since I installed it).The biggest problem with the machine is that the feed only holds about 50 or 75 sheets of paper or so. So if you are scanning a large volume of documents you have to monitor it. It does jam occasionally, enough that it has to be watched.My paper holder thing that catches paper after it is scanned broke off recently. This was certainly my fault, but I haven't been able to figure out how to replace it.All in all, this is a good, solid, useful scanner for low volume or medium volume jobs. Probably not for high volume unless you are fairly patient about monitoring the scanner carefully.

After a couple of months of daily use, it stops scanning well and starts jamming up even 4 pages in the ADF. I'm looking for something new that is durable because this certainly isn't. I'm scanning for an office so of course most of the pages have had staples in them. Apparently the scanner hates pages that have ever had a staple in it at all. It's a shame because I really like this scanner when it works but the paper jams are just infuriating.

I've had this scanner for almost three years, and it worked well for about two and a half years and has been more or less impossible to use since then. Like that of another reviewer, the roller on my machine now fails to grip pages (in fact, it fails to turn at all in some circumstances). Scans of more than one page don't work.The upside is that we used this scanner for a couple of years where it worked more or less flawlessly, over the course of easily thousands of pages. Even so, an $800 machine should last more than two years before being felled by an (apparently common) mechanical failure.

This is the 6th Xerox 632 that I have ordered and setup for clients. These scanners are very fast and reliable - and no I don't work for Xerox or a distributor. I chose these after a lot of research and trial and error.I have clients ranging from attorneys to landmen (30k pages or more) who are trying to get to a 90% paperless office . This scanner runs circles around the large office scanners that many of them had leased. The only issues we've had are (1) changing the ADF pad after 10k papers and (2) we had 1 machine that the scanner lid cable had to be replaced - which Xerox promptly took care of. For full duplex PDF document conversion, this scanner's performance is superb.The PaperPort 10 (or 11) software is easy for someone to use and works great for arranging PDF's and stacking pages. Make sure when you purchase that your scanner comes with the PaperPort 10 or 11 software. Some of the less expensive sellers only include the OneTouch Drivers - which will scan just fine, but PaperPort makes organizing a little more intuitive and helps decrease the need for Acrobat Pro.Some of the reviews here seem to be a little negative, but my experience has been 99% positive, and my clients will testify to that as well.http://www.smartergeek.com/contactme.asp

We use Adobe Acrobat Pro version 8 to scan documents and at the same time we have it perform automatic OCR all at once. Once scanned and OCR'd with Acrobat, if we need the actual text any time in the future we can 'save as' that document as a Word file. It's a system that works well for our office. So, when we needed another scanner to work with our new Vista machine, I read the reviews and the Xerox 252 came out on top.Like others have said, this is a very nice scanner. The hardware seems really well made - it's sturdy and sounds like a solid piece of equipment in operation. The feeder works really well and in the four straight hours I tried to get this scanner to work directly with Adobe Acrobat in Windows Vista, it did not jam or double feed one single time. But there's the rub: on Windows Vista, the current twain driver (direct from Xerox's website) doesn't work at all with Adobe Acrobat 8. When you go to scan from within Acrobat, Acrobat completely crashes. (Photoshop can't find this scanner at all using the twain driver.) After Googling for answers and trying many, many things, it just doesn't appear that Xerox (or should I say Visioneer) has completed work on their Vista drivers for this scanner yet. This scanner does work just fine under Vista using the included Paperport software (which has some really great features - when you eventually find them in the non-standard taskbar interface), but this scanner should also work directly with other twain compliant applications like Acrobat Pro 8, but it doesn't at the moment. As a result of this, if you need a scanner for Vista that works directly with Acrobat, the Fujitsu 5120 we have works great directly with Acrobat under Vista (although I like the Xerox hardware better).

Bought this item in March 2009. Worked fine out of the box. Stopped working at the end of June 2009. Xerox confirmed (after having me do tests) that the unit was defective. Got an RMA number and it cost me $40 to ship it back. Still waiting for a replacement.

If you do a lot of scanning this is the one you want. This is the 3rd unit my company has purchased. Unit number 1 has been in service 3 years, unit number 2 for 2 years, and this new scanner. No problems - easy setup - FAST SCANNING - excellent scan quality and ability to configure scan options. Comes with Paperport and OmniPage which aren't great, but get the job done. Surprisingly good color scan quality (not flatbed professional grade, but good for day to day business documents). If you have a high scan volume, I'd recommend this guy.

I have used this scanner for around 4 years. I use it every day - sometimes for an hour or so. It is fast, efficient, and it doesn't jam much. I like the scanner interface also. It is expensive, but it is really worth it if you scan alot. Today I'm scanning about 300-400 double sided checks from my bank statment and it did it without a hiccup.

I have now owned the DocuMate 252 for over one year and it is amazing! Our real estate company scans virtually every contract, legal document, tax bill, tax return, etc. with virtually no problem. The scanning itself is amazingly fast (but the lamp first must stabilize when you've just started a job when the machine was dormant - which involves a short delay of about 20 seconds). We routinely scan 40 to 50 page contracts without problem.The OCR is fantastic, there are multiple pre-set scan options including searchable .pdf file format. We scanned thousands of pages of searchable .pdf for some litigation we were involved in saving us a ton of legal fees. We send out our property due diligence information electronically now. Paper jams have not been an issue at all. I spent a lot of time looking at different brands but I am incredibly happy with this Xerox and am very glad we got a upper end scanner rather than settling for a low end version. Note that it will not do oversized paper (such as our huge property survey's or plans) - we use it only for letter and legal sized papers. We had a very old and slow flat bed scanner - this is an enormous improvement.This may be the best technology buy I have ever made. We do not have an IT department but both the setup and operation are painless. I'm thinking of buying another one for the house. This is without a doubt the most valuable equipment in the office other than our pc's. I will never work in an office without one again.

I was surprised to have found a company willing to ship a scanner outside the US! I've always wanted to buy the Xerox DocuMate 252, so I decided to try.It took around 2 weeks for it to arrive in Barbados. I'm pleased with it.

This is our second scanner we have had problems with. The first scanner worked well for a few months then it jams all the time with the adf.We sent it back and got another from xerox worked well again for a awhile then like clockwork it jams all the time and documents are torn a part with the roller. We scan 5000- 8000 or so a week. This year we are already having problems with our second model. If you scan normal weight paper it appears to do this well but our documents we work with are of a lighter paper weight.Three stars because when it does work it works very well and is fast. When it jams it can be a pain.

This is the first scanner I've owned that does everything fast and well. For the past several years I've been scanning paper files to hard disk, to the end of achieving a paperless life.I bought 7 scanners between 1999 and 2005, including an Epson, an HP, 4 Visioneers, and the Xerox Documate 252. All were either sheet-fed or had document handlers. All but the Xerox Documate were fair to dismal.I used several of the previous scanners with a succession of Macs, while using others on a PC. For Macintosh the HP scanner software always proved dysfunctional. It failed outright a signficant part of the time. The HP hardware was similarly afflicted. The document feeder choked on a high proportion of documents run through it (for reasons I could neither fathom nor correct). The Epson worked slightly better, but was slow and clunky. Its document feeder frequently stuck, and gagged on something as minor as a slight crease in the paper.The Visioneers had these and other problems as well. Also, files created in the Windows environment on older versions of Paperport scanning software that was bundled with these scanners (Version 5.5, for example) almost always became corrupted in some way when I transferred them from a PC to a Mac, and vice versa. Therefore I had to keep my Mac and Windows scanned archives on separate computers.When I bought a Xerox Documate 252, it proved head and shoulders above any scanner I had previously owned or even seen. [The Xerox Documate does share the Visioneer nameplate, but as far as I can tell it has nothing in common mechanically with earlier Visioneers.] It makes one-sided or two-sided scans, in color, greyscale, or black and white. It is fast and accurate. The document feeder handles everything I throw at it (with very occasional paper jams). Also, the more recent versions of Paperport scanning software (9.0 and above) that are bundled with the Documate produce pdf files as the default scans. Pdfs transfer well between Mac and Windows. [Some file names do not transfer fully from Mac to Windows, but all file names transfer from Windows to Mac in my experience. Therefore it is better to do initial scanning in the Windows environment. That is necessary in any event with the Xerox Documate, which functions only on Windows operating systems. The Documate does work well, to my own knowledge, on an Intel-based Mac running Windows XP in Boot Camp. I don't know, however, whether that also obtains for Windows Vista in a similar configuration.]I got more useful scanning done in 4 weeks after I bought this device than I had accomplished in the previous 6 years.UPDATE: I've now used the Xerox Documate for over 3 years. It has lived up to its promise, and then some. I bought a second one for a different office; it has worked equally well. I have also bought a Fujitsu Scansnap S500. The Scansnap is a capable scanner, at half the price, but not in the same league with the Xerox Documate 252.There is one further development worth noting. The latest version of the Paperport scanning software (version 11.0, which I am now running on a Vista platform) handles paper jams more deftly. When the document feeder jams, the scanner now provides the option to save the pages already scanned to the Paperport Desktop and continue with the unscanned pages after unclogging the jam. This is a vast improvement over earlier versions, where a jam on the next-to-last page required a complete do-over. [I did not notice, unfortunately, exactly when this improvement kicked in, so I can't say specifically what level of upgrade is necessary to obtain it.]SECOND UPDATE September 26, 2009: I am updating this review to report that after 4 and 1/2 years the older of my two Xerox Documate 252s has faltered mechanically. The problem is that the roller in the document feeder does not reliably grip the pages of the documents that I insert for scanning. As a result the scanner sometimes just whirs for a time, then stops. The document must be reloaded at that point and the scanning restarted. It helps to press the documents down and against the feeder, but that defeats the self-executing element of the scanner. My conjecture is that the roller (which is made of rubber) has become harder and has shrunk a little, so that it no longer grips paper with as much friction as in its younger days -- a kind of mechanical equivalent of bone loss. In any event, my original Documate 252 is now in semi-retirement. I still use it for short documents that I can help along by hand through the feeder, but not for long sustained scanning jobs. I have replaced the Documate with a Fujitsu fi-6130, which I unpacked and set up today. When I've had more extended experience with the fi-6130, I'll review it on Amazon.com. Meanwhile, I did try a few quick scans earlier today and was tremendously impressed with the mechanical performance of the fi-6130 (although the software is distinctly unwelcoming and will take time to absorb).
