I write this because there was nowhere else on the entire internet that would tell me what I needed to do to set this scanner up on a Mac, Xerox's site included. I ended up having to call Xerox customer support. So here it is:0. Plug in the power cord. Do not plug in the USB connection yet. The scanner light will be red = not ready.1. Run the Mac CD-ROM and open the ExactScan package. The is how the scanner will interact with your Mac - no drivers or "Xerox" folders need downloaded.2. Follow the instructions to register your scanner with them to receive your free activation code (it actually ends up registering the product with Xerox).3. In your applications folder, find the ExactScan program - run it. No windows will pop up here; it will only show in the lower menu bar.4. In the lower menu bar, open the ExactScan icon. This is how you will route your scanned material.5. Now connect the scanner to the Mac via the USB cord. The scanner's light should now turn blue = ready.Also: the official user manual is NOWHERE to be found on the internet or on your Mac CD. Load in the Windows DVD-ROM - I had to search a bit but it's in there.Hope this helps. If not, call customer support. They kind of acted like this should all be very obvious, but as you know, it's far from it - still they helped me figure this out and avoided my packing this up and sending it back.

I use this to scan front and back sides of all types of documents for a hospital. I scan directly into PDF files with Adobe Acrobat Pro and it works very fast. I had no problem loading any of the software that came with it in Windows 7. It has a very small footprint on the desk and is super fast even when scanning color images. Get the adobe acrobat pro because this is a pro piece of hardware and you deserve pro support. I am buying more of these for my organization!

We previously used the 152 in a corporate environment. One on every desk - this is the near replacement for the obsolete models. Excellent usage and portability.

This item did not meet my expectations the one touch software could never be loaded and we purchased two with the same issues. Spent way to much time with xerox technical support with no positive result.

We may be expecting a $2000-scanner-usage from this scanner, because we are using it to digitize old records, using it about 10-15 hours per week. This is the third one we have had over the last year, and I have grown unimpressed with its durability for a $300-$400 scanner. After a month or so it starts to stick and pull multiple pages at a time and hence grows frustrating to what is an already monotonous job of scanning old records. My employees grow irritable that they have to stop listening to their music and pay attention to the scanner!!We have moved up to a Fujitsu scanner that seems to so far be maintaining it's durability better than this one.

This was purchased for a dental office running Dentrix and works perfectly. I shopped around extensively before this purchase. For the price range, this is the best scanner for a small volume tasks that will be clear, easy & quick to use. It sits up front to scan cards, patient referrals and the like. It sends them to Dentrix, an email or another preset with the push of a button. It can take a while to set up the programming, but the ease of use after is worth it.

I am a Mac user. It says it is Mac compatible, and it is. But Xerox's website does not acknowledge that fact anywhere. No mention of Mac on Bundled Software page, downloads, drivers, anywhere. It comes with one CD for Windows, and one for Mac. Like most scanners, the software they include is at least one version old (so that you will want to pay for an upgrade). But it works. On the CD for Mac were 2 software titles. No Read Me, no paper instructions for Mac, nothing. It's almost like the Mac doesn't exist. Weird.Has worked OK. Currently not being recognized by the driver when I plug in the USB cord. Hopefully a reboot will help. When scanning, sometimes it's glorious, and sometime the de-skewing makes the crooked page MORE crooked. I had at least one page that came out 1/2 blank. The jury is still out. If I had it to do again, I think I would have spent the extra money to get a Fujitsu S1500.UPDATED:Yep. The Xerox was awful. Not just because I had a Mac. I returned it and bought a Fujitsu ScanSnap S1300. Fujitsu ScanSnap S1300 Instant PDF Sheet-Fed Mobile Scanner (PA03603-B005) Works WAY better. I am very happy with it. No wonder all the reviews say you should buy Fujitsu. They were right.

Right from the moment it came, it was a trouble. Tried calling the support and they could not resolve it. The returns department told me do to a lot of stuff, like printing invoices, faxing ti to them. Nothing really worked. They never even got back to check what was going wrong. The machine was scanning pages in its own directions. After the 5th or 6th page only half of the page would be scanned. It was a headache. Thanks to amazon for a great and smooth return. Then i bought a scansnap....you know what, my whole idea of scanning changed. Scansnap from fujitsu is one of the best options available for MAC.
