Bought another set because I love the sound
Bought another set because I love the sound, BUT... CHECK THE COLOR. The first set was the wrong color but I didn't realize it until the second set arrived almost a year later. Just thought the description was off from the image shown, as is common on the internet.
If you order mahogany, make darn sure they're a deep, deep red/brown. I received the Walnut color instead, which is a more ashen gray/brown. Had I known, I would have exchanged them, but here we are, with different colored speakers that sort of complement the other furniture but sound amazing.
Sound Quality: I haven't owned a better speaker. I'm a fan of smooth but sparkly highs and punchy lows, with even mids - basically even response with sparkle and a subtle hump in the 200-400hz range. These punch extremely well and bass can be "tuned" by adjusting proximity to the wall.
The spread is wonderful. On-axis is pleasing for critical listening - can't imagine getting fatigue from these.
The design really spreads the sound around the room in an even way. Anywhere in our small house, I can pick out incredible detail and enjoy the music.
Mid-range is really sweet and even. Nothing jumps out, nothing harsh, but it's also not a veiled sound. Just controlled and natural.
I've never owned such good speakers. All the other equipment I had sounds much less replaceable now.
I really really love these, as evidenced by my purchase of two sets, I just wish they were both the correct color.

Buy these speakers!
These speakers are true high end speakers. If you want to know what High Fidelity speakers sound like, buy these! You will not find a better speaker at anywhere near this price. These are amazing. I was expecting good speakers but after breaking them in these are just incredible. That they can do this with a 5" woofer is unbelievable. The have very clear and full sound. Imaging is fantastic as is the sound stage that they present. Buy these speakers if your budget is around $500. You can not do better.

Great speakers for classical music lovers
After living with the Dentons for about 2 months, I am extremely happy with these highly musical speakers. The bass is deep and precise and the mid-range, especially human voice is rendered with such airy, sweet tonality. The treble, which some people labelled veiled, is very clear, smooth, and non-fatigue. I listen to a lot of classical music, mainly opera and chamber music. The Dentons are able to reproduce the instrument separation, placement, human voice with clarity and forwardness. I also own a pair a Focal Aria 905 in the family room, and I have to say, the Dentons best the Focals in almost all areas. Even in sound stage presentation, which is supposed to be Focal's strong suit, the Dentons are just as good, if not better. Also, it seems to me the Dentons are easier to drive at 6ohm than the Focals at 8ohm and a higher rated db, which is kinda strange. Highly recommended.

After a lifetime of Cerwin-Vegas, Spica TC-50s, and Wharfedale 10.2s
They are wonderfully sturdy and elegant little speakers. I love the metal, real wood, and well designed grilles.
I've been on quest to bring the most out of the Dentons. Started with a 75wpc Cambridge Audio 651A integrated amp. It worked perfectly fine, supplying enough power to get some nice sound but not too much depth or thunder. Then, I traded in the Cambridge for a 1975 Pioneer receiver of the same wattage. What were once polite speakers turned gruff and the bass started to come through, although without much refinement.
I saw that these Wharfedales were power hogs and craved as much wattage as they could get. I went slightly high-end and purchased a Rogue Sphinx v2 Integrated amp rated at 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 200 wpc into 4 ohms. After testing with a meter, the Dentons come in at about 4.75 ohms. The Difference is striking. Wider sound stage, warmth, detail, clarity, and a ton of bass. Don't let these get away at this price! I have never regretted buying these.

Sound Fantastic With My Vintage Receivers
Came this morning ahead of schedule from Amazon seller. Loving them so far, listening from Stevie Ray Vaughn to Diana Krall. I hooked up to my 2 vintage receivers (A Pioneer SX-434 rated at 15 wpc @ 8 ohms & my Kenwood KR-4070 at 40 wpc @ 8 ohms. Don't know what the watts are for the Denton 6 ohms. So, I'm keeping these with my Pioneer hookup and I just got online to order another pair of Denton's for my Kenwood. Just amazing sound to my ears and the fact that I can use my receivers from the 70's era is a home run! To top it off, they look beautiful. I bought the red mahogany. Hope what I hear today will continue. I see others say there is a break-in period where they even sound better over time. If that's the case, wow!

Wharfedale Denton 80 Anniversary Review
I'm writing this review after using the speakers for about 2 months. Initially as most of them mentioned that it needs many hours to break in. I'm using an AVR Denon to power this for 95 watts per channel which is way different from other audiophiles recommended amplifiers. To say in short it is very good. It has lots of bass which sometimes feels like overpowering, but it's ok for me now. Some reviewer suggested it is very warm, smooth etc, for me it is not that warm but it's crystal clear and clean sound. Tried verity of genres, mostly classical rocks, melodious songs, classical instruments sound great, other genres also sounds good though. But what I observed was, the quality of songs needs to be very good to sound good in these speakers. Whether it's a vocal or instruments, if the stereo is of very high quality, that comes out well. I also tried playing Blu-ray movies, had trouble getting the vocals loud, had to change the settings to PCM in Blu-ray player, movies sounds good but not that great. Overall it sounds good to me. Also it's wooden made, looks more like vintage style, I like it, I bought it for 499, but recently price dropped to 399 which is steal. I'm still exploring the sounds in these speakers. I would recommend this to any one..

Great sound for the bucks
I bought these speakers as replacements for a pair of Warfedale 10.1's purely on the basis of their retro looks and how well they matched the paneling in the den at my beach house. I didn't expect them to perform much better than the 10.1's. Not only do they look great, they sound great; I was really surprised. The sound is much fuller and the clarity and brightness significantly better. I don't know how you could find something better for $400. They are driven by a Decco 65 (more retro). My system at home uses Heresy III's and a Mac 5200, Does it sound better? Yes. A lot better? Hmm...

Beautiful retro look with phenomenal modern sound
Beautiful on the outside, sings from the inside. These aren’t going to drop bass, however the upper range is amazing for the price. Currently using in a 2 channel bedroom tv setup. Imaging is phenomenal with a mild toe in. My other half hates this about me, but I have had a number of speakers from focal, Energy, ZU, PSB, Polk, outlaw audio, paradigm, and these are in regular use for their sound. They don’t fatigue your ears. Nothing is overbearing. Add the fact of their price and you have a recipe for a great purchase. I picked these up for $399 Musicdirect . Normally seen at $499. If you need bass... gotta get a subwoofer.

Performs way, above its class.
I have been interested in high fidelity audio for seventy years. During that time I have owned more than fifteen different carefully selected speaker pairs from Klipsch corner horns through Magnepans. I listen to music,not noise, These little wonders are extremely satisfying and highly recommended.

Very happy with my purchase
Bought these speakers for the throw back look and the fact that all reviewers gave them a five star here on Amazon. I hooked them up to a Emotiva Fusion Flex amp (now discontinued) and wow, they are amazing! Surprised at how much bass these speakers throw and how loud they can go without distortion. Of course my little amp is only feeding them about 60 watts of clean power. I did treat my room some what with acoustic panels and my sound may be a little deeper because of that. My CD source is a Marantz 6005 and everything in my system sounds superb. Not a lot of room in my condo and these set up on 24 inch stands work perfect.

- + красивые, компактные, всё хорошо
- - Сравнивал с другими колонками, которые в несколько раз больше, чуда не произошло, эти маленькие и красивые звучат намного слабее, басов намного меньше.
Если нужные компактные красивые настольные колонки к ноутбуку, то хороший выбор.

Дизайн - - Громко пищит при потере bluetooth (ночью можно получить инфаркт)
По кабелю звук лучше.
По кабелю от нормальной звуковой карты SB X4 - звук даже очень крутой.
Надо понимать, это не просто колоночки пищалки, это колоночки с претензией на звук.
Басов как у JBL аналогичных по размеру тут и близко нет (басов ровно столько же сколько у MacBook Pro 14, т.е он как бы есть, но его надо искать).
С другой стороны звук очень породистый, ровный, без явных перекосов.
Есть сцена
Для настольных компьютерных колонок, для создания фона в ограниченном пространстве - неплохо.
С хорошей звуковой картой, начинают работать совсем по другому.
