I have 2 other externals by Transcend (all purchased on Amazon). I work in graphics & project folders can get deep. My 1st Transcend (orange) is my fav & still works flawlessly. I got the green 1 as a backup & it has a different plug to connect to the HD. This wasn't good bc I had to make sure I keep up with both cords in transport (as though I don't have enough stuff in my "designer's bag'). Anyway, this drive has the same connector as the green one. So now I have one for professional projects, personal projects & a backup. All of which are compatible. They have the rubber casing which helps if dropped BUT I am still very cautious.

It is really good external hard disk. The speed it took my 200 GB data was great. I have it for sometime and it works great.

Exactly as described. Fast shipping. Works as intended. Actually dropped it on my kitchen floor when I was getting it out of the box (like an idiot) and it still worked fine.

After a long search, I purchased it because it's the biggest and most reliable brand portable Hard disk that could be sent to my address in Spain. After a few days working with it, all my expectations have been fulfilled with it: it's light, strong, and visually attractive. I recommend it.

Hi,I bought this item new in plastic. It was shipped to me very fast. Since I opened the package and I saw it I said I love it. Right now I did move everything from my laptop and my 3 memory sticks on this external HDD and it's stil by like 10% or less of the total capasity. I'm very happy with it I love it. Good stuff specially when you have kids home walking around. It fell on the ground but still working like noting happened! I would recommend this. Seriously.

I have 2 portable hard drives, this one and a non durable one. I take my portable hard drives everywhere and this one is great!!! I love that it withstands being dropped and being hauled around and works flawlessly.

When looking for an external hard drive, Transcend was the one I new I needed to get. Unfortunately, the other reviews for this device seemed to not be very good. I for one have not noticed any problem what so ever with this device. If there is a problem later, I hope to write an update.

This is a great little harddisk . I lost 2 WD 2 TBs when they fell from 3 feet off the ground. Yes , two of 'em. The Transcend 1TB is well protected from such falls with its rugged protection. More harddisks need to have this sort of a protection. Transfer speeds are pretty good too. I get 25 MBPS speeds for files that are about 60 MB. Smaller files take longer but that's alright. The armor looks solid and the harddisk does not make ANY noise. Great Buy . Go for it even if it means spending an extra 30 bucks relative to other harddisks. Its well worth it !

The drive performs as expected, but I am disappointed that it requires two ports on my computer. On my laptop, there is one port on each side, so without a hub, it can't be plugged in at all.

The whole USB 3 movement is being orchestrated so poorly. There seems to be no direction for consumers to follow, and the benefit of USB 3 speed will not be gained on a moving platter of disk space, especially a 5400 RPM drive. I give this drive 1 star because it is a step backwards and frustrating to look at with 2 ports being used up on any USB 2 machine. Any drive where the cable is as important as the drive itself is a failure.
