The picture with all the different switches are kinda confusing at first. I purchased the white one, a basic 5 port 10/100m Desktop switch. It has worked great no problems so far. Girls come over to my house and swoon at the sight of it because its so darn cool.

Worked right the first time, and is very reliable. All I had to do was plug it in and use it, no configuration required at all. Could use some kind of mounting method (I used double stick foam tape to mount it under my desk).

I had a D-Link DES1024D working for 2 years, when it started hanging in a small office network of 11 computers with very high rates of data transmission. The office temperature is quite low, at about 25°C. It would randomly drop and not assign IP addresses, and after all the computers would not get internet, and be out of the network.This TP-LINK one gave me the same problem.

well with this little joy i was able to.Connect all my Directv receivers to my home network so i could watch all my recorded tv shows with my dazzle (5 star review btw)

This is a solid switch, even though its only 10/100M, it works well with wireless meshes because most wifi access points don't get as fast as 100M. Anywho, works just fine.

The limited number of ports probably is the best measure for ideal deployment environments (soho). I utilize in environments that does not exceed the port count, hence for small networks it just works as described.

This is a simple network switch. Nothing fancy. I needed something to be able to put a couple of computers networked and it works exactly as expected. does it have tons of features? Of course not. But you cannot go wrong if all you are looking for is an old school switch.

if you need gigabit, this isnt for you, however if you need a really inexpensive 10/100 smart switch, this is just the ticket. It just works.

I wanted to extend my network into a room that I had not wired due to a failing wireless router. This, combined with a pair of powerline wall plug network adaptor works perfectly well. I have already recommended this to a neighbor with similar needs.

This is an inexpensive 5 port Fast (10/100Mbit) Ethernet switch.THE GOOD:+ Cheap+ Wall mountable, although screws were NOT INCLUDED+ Single LED per port is ON to show LINK OK, BLINKS to indicate ACTIVITY+ Unlike MANY other switches the blink rate is actually slow enough so that you can easily observe it from across the room.THE BAD:- Power adapter plugs into left side of switch, NOT the back of it. This could be a problem for some if space around switch is very limited.- Since there is only a single LED for status you cannot tell the speed of a attached device by looking at the panel (Some other hubs have a separate LED to indicate connected speed). Realistically though since this switch is 10/100 Mbit/s you will be certainly be connecting 100Mbit (or gigabit) devices instead of ancient 10Mbit ones.ALTERNATIVES:For not much more you can get an 8-port Fast Ethernet switch instead, see Airlink Switch (ASW308)If you are looking for a gigabit switch then I would recommend TRENDnet 8-Port Unmanaged Gigabit GREENnet Standard Switch (8 x 10/100/1000Mbps)I hope you find this useful!

I have had this product for over 4 months so far and everything is still working great!I leave it plugged in all day every day and have had nothing but success with this product.I would definitely recommend for the price.

I work in the merchant credit card business and the terminals that my customers use connect via an ethernet cable and so often they need a switch but don't want something expensive. This was the perfect answer for the perfect price.

The unit arrived on time, new package. Everything was fine until I plugged the provided power supply into the TP Link, "TL-SF1005D" It began to smoke. the TP Link is being returned. Amazon has picked up the cost of return. Amazon does an excellent job of taking care of returns. But only when you purchase something that Amazon takes care of, so be careful when ordering...I have been taken badly with others selling on amazon...Returns can be at your cost, if your not careful!! Amazon gave a date of 20 days to resend another unit, that is way to long to wait on this product! I have other TP Link products that are Excellent.

Just wanted to get all the wired rooms of this apartment working together for an Xbox360 to be able to stream tv from this media center over wired lan. Works like a charm, great little product for the price.

This switch works perfectly in my home network. I simply plugged it in and immediately expanded my network from only a few available ports to many available ports. So far all of the TP-Link products that I have purchased have been a great value for the money.

CANNOT USE PORTS SIMULTANEOUSLY. ONLY REASON WHY I BOUGHT IT. WHY ELSE DO THEY MAKE THESE SEPARATE PORTS IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO USE SIMULTANEOUSLY? DOES MY INTERNET SPEED HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT? THANK YOU!

I recently had to swap out a DirecTV HR21 DVR for an HR20 and was previously using the HR21 as a hub to connect my 20GB Playstation 3 to my home network (the HR21 has a built in "1-port hub", while the HR20 does not). As a result of the swap, I had to get an inexpensive hub in order to connect my PS3 to my home network.This hub is right for the money - it's no thrills, super easy configuration. Unlike some hubs, this one has an autosensing feature that will automatically detect the port that's being used for the uplink.My only complaint would be the location of the power input -- rather than being by all of the ethernet ports, it's on the right side of the hub. It's very awkward.

The TP-Link Tl SF-1005D is an inexpensive and reliable switch that works very well with the router I use (the Linksys-Cisco WRT54GL Wireless-G Broadband Router (Compatible with Linux).) Installation is simplicity itself: plug it in and you are set to connect your computers. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.
