Der ARO-M14 Kühler von Thermalright ist weitesgehend baugleich mit dem HR-02 Macho Rev. B Kühler aus dem gleichen Hause. Die Unterschiede sind eher kosmetischer Natur (die oberste Kühlfinne trägt den Ryzenschriftzug) und es gibt ihn in zwei Farben. Zudem liegt, neben dem altbekannten Zubehör, ausschließlich das Montagematerial für AMDs Sockel AM4 bei. Die Montage auf Intel Sockeln ist somit NICHT möglich. Dazu müsste ein seperates Montagekit erworben werden.
Zum baugleichen HR-02 gibt es zahlreiche Testberichte und Montageanleitungen, diese sind auf den ARO-M14 übertragbar. Daher halte ich mich hier eher kurz.
Das Haltesystem wurde etwas vereinfacht, der Befestigungssteg ist nun bereits mit dem Kühler verbunden. Bei der Montage mutet es erst befremdlich an, das die originale Backplate des Mainboards nach dem Montieren der Schrauben noch sehr viel Spiel hat. Das ist so aber korrekt und wenn der Kühlkörper mit dem Halterahmen verschraubt ist, wackelt auch nichts mehr.
Beachten sollte man, das der Kühler wirklich (wirklich) groß ist. Beim Auspacken war mein erster Gedanke, was für ein Trümmer;-) Aber er passt und dank der asymetrischen Bauweise bleiben auch alle RAM Slots nutzbar. Auch der Abstand zu anderen Komponenten passt problemlos. Einen Blick ins Handbuch des Gehäuses sollte man aber vor dem Kauf des Kühlers trotzdem werfen, die Bauhöhe beträgt stattliche 16,5cm, das passt nicht in jedes Case.
Im normalen Betrieb ist der Kühler bei mir auf einem Ryzen 5 1600 / ASRock X370 Killer Board, verpackt im Fractal Design Define C, fast nicht hörbar. Einzig sporadische leise Tickgeräusche trüben den Höreindruck etwas (vergleichbar mit dem Ticken einer Armbanduhr). Bei voller Drehzahl ist das Luftrauschen dann natürlich gut wahrnehmbar, aber diese Drehzahlen benötigt man im normalen Betrieb nicht. Die Kühlleistung ist über jeden Zweifel erhaben (siehe Tests im Netz zum HR-02).
Insgesamt sehr empfehlenswert, das war eine gute Investition auf dem Weg zum leisen PC.

Meine AIO Wasserkühlung hat mich zum einen tierisch genervt zum anderen war sie leider wenig effizient.
Dieser Kühler hier hat es insich. Montage war Kinderleicht.
Die Lautstärke ist kaum wahrnehmbar. Der Lüfter dreht dank meiner Mainboard settings (Silent) maximal auf 1070 Umdrehungen und hält beim Stresstest meinen Ryzen 2700x auf 67 Grad bei 3.96 GHz. Mein Gehäuse ist nun endlich wieder geschlossen und ich werde nicht mehr von meiner alten Kühlung genervt wo das ständige auf und ab regeln der Lüfter für Krach sorgte. Der Kühler ist jeden Cent wert und man könnte noch einen zweiten Fan dran klemmen. Alles super.

Ich habe mir diesen Kühler gekauft, weil seine Kontaktfläche perfekt auf den Ryzen CPU's aufliegt und somit ein optimaler Wärmeaustausch erfolgen kann. Zudem ist er standardmäßig mit einem 140mm Lüfter ausgestattet (mit 120er Schraubenaufnahme) und kann mit einem zweiten Lüfter für Push und Pull ergänzt werden. Der 140mm Lüfter ragt ein gutes Stück über die Kühlrippen hinaus, wodurch auch Luft zu den VRM's geleitet wird. Die dafür benötigten Klammern sind bereits beigefügt, wie auch der erstklassige Schraubendreher und neuerdings auch ein paar antistatische Montagehandschuhe, die für alle möglichen PC-Basteleien nützlich sind, sowie eine Tube Wärmeleitpaste, obwohl die Kontaktfläche bereits mit WLP versehen ist. Das Montagekit beinhaltet auch den Einbaurahmen, der keine spezielle Backplate für die AM4 Boards benötigt. Von den Befestigungsschrauben ist jeweils eine mehr beigelegt, als man bräuchte. Somit ist man auf der sicheren Seite, falls eine auf den Boden/Teppich fällt und sich erstmal unsichtbar macht. . Die Installation gestaltet sich sehr einfach und die Kühlleistung ist einfach top. Leider verkauft Thermalright den Kühler wohl nur noch über den eigenen, globalen Amazonshop, wodurch der Preis durch die bereits enthaltene Importsteuer etwas höher ausfällt, weshalb ich einen Sternabzug bei Peis-Leistung vorgenommen habe. Die Lieferzeit ist dennoch recht schnell. Der etwa baugleiche Thermalright Macho ist zwar vielerorts günstiger erhältlich, doch ist dessen Kontaktfläche zum CPU-Heatspreader nicht den Ryzen CPU's angepasst. Er funktioniert zwar auch mit Ryzen, doch selbst bei ausgleichendem WLP-Auftrag wird der Vollkontakt, wie beim ARO, niemals gegeben sein.

Nicht billig aber sein Geld wert (EUR 50).
Kühlt zuverlässig und ist sehr leise.
Bedienungsanleitung ist sehr gut verständlich / die Montage empfand ich als sehr leicht.
Das Extra-Zubehör wie der hochwertige Schraubenzieher und die evtl. für später benötigte Kühlpaste ist sensationell.
Achtung, das ist schon ein Brocken -> muss beachtet werden (in meinem BeQuiet Pure Base 600 aber kein Problem).
Alles super - würde ich wieder kaufen. 5/5

Der Einbau war echt Kinderleicht aber das beste... der schöne Schraubendreher der sogar Magnetisch ist :) + Wärmepaste, obwohl schon eine drauf war. Ohne Worte einfach Klasse :)
Bei normaler Anwendung hört man den nicht, der ist sogar so leise das man den Rechner nun im Schlafzimmer aufbauen kann und den nachts durchlaufen lassen kann ohne das man von den Lüfter Geräusche gestört wird.

Ich Habe den Lüfter seit etwa einem Jahr in meinem System (Ryzen 1700X kein OC). Alles funktioniert nach wie vor einwandfrei.
Am Lüfter gibt es nichts auszusetzen, meine CPU wird täglich aufs Maximum ausgelastet und meine CPU-Temperatur geht maximal auf 60°C. Weiterhin kann ich den Lüfter kaum hören.
Die Montage war sehr einfach, Wärmeleitpaste war bereits aufgetragen, zusätlich dazu gab es auch noch eine kleine Tube extra. Ein entsprechender Schraubenzieher ist Lieferumfang enthalten.
Klare Kaufempfehlung von mir!

Viel über den Lüfter werde ich nicht sagen, da ich ihn schon kenne und weiß was er leistet. Es gibt nur eine Sache zu beanstanden, wenn etwas als Neuware verkauft wird und man gebraucht Ware erhält. Musste mehrere Lamellen wieder gerade biegen und die vor aufgetragene Wärmeleitpaste war auch nicht mehr vorhanden und wurde durch einen Standard Aufkleber für Kühler ersetzt. Kratzer und Macken sind auf den Fotos ersichtlich bei angeblicher Neuware. Es sind wirklich nur Kleinigkeiten möchte es aber dennoch erwähnen, trotzdem ist es ein sehr guter kühler.

Habe meinen BeQuit gegen den Thermalright ARO-M14 Grey AMD Ryzen getauscht. Wärme wird besser abgeleitet. Lautstärke ist ok. Preis ist noch ok aber nicht mehr werden.
Das Gehäuse muss aber für den Lüfter passen. Da er ziemlich hoch ist.

Sehr guter Kühler, leichte Montage wenn man ein wenig handwerkliches Geschick besitzt. Wichtig!!!!!! Wirklich die Ausmaße dieses Kühlers beachten, gerade die Höhe ist nicht ohne ! Temperaturgewwinn zu normalen Kühler lag bei mir 12-15 Grad weniger . TOP! Läuft bei mir nicht-kaum hörbar.

いずれはRyzen9 3900Xに乗せ換える予定なのでとりあえずアップグレード
部品が足りないのか仕様なのかは解らないが付属のバックプレートを固定するネジだけではグラついてバックプレートが浮いてしまう、何とか固定できないものかとM5ｘ12のワッシャーを4枚づつ重ねると良い感じに固定できたので何とか組付け完了。
FANをTY-143に換えたけどノーマルFANでも充分な冷却は期待できそうです。
いずれはRyzen9 3900Xに乗せ換える予定なのでとりあえずアップグレード

完全にオーバースペックだが、見た目がかっこいい！
さりげないロゴがまたいい。
ただ、クリップで固定するタイプは初めてで1個折ってしまった、、コツが必要かも…
まあスペア？増設用？が入っていたので無事換装できたんですけど。

I'm using this on my Ryzen 3000 build. I'm a bit of a Thermalright fanboy having used them primarily for over a decade now starting back with the HR-05 northbridge cooler. The ARO-M14G is a slightly modified version of the Le Grand Macho Rev.B for Ryzen. The standard Macho Rev. B is also Ryzen (AM4) compatible, but they adjusted the face contacting the CPU slightly to fine tune the interface and on the ARO so it should perform just slightly better. There's not many reviews on the ARO since it is a non-standard model number for them, so check out the Rev.B if you want to find performance comparisons and such then give it an extra 1-5% and you've got the ARO. Really, the biggest reason I went with the ARO over the Rev.B is that it has Ryzen embossed on the top of the heatsink :P Overall, summary of the industry though is if you want better cooling than this, you need to go with 1) 360mm AIO cooler (some will actually not perform as well as this though), 2) Dark Rock Pro 4/Noctua NH-D15(s)/Thermalright Le Grand Macho RT (RT and Rev.B are different models, it's a confusing naming choice), or 3) custom liquid cooling. I go with the Macho Rev. B variants because they are cheap and they are a cm shorter so they are easier to fit in cases. Unless your cooling a crazy hot chip this thing is already overkill, so I see no reason to spend more and air cooling is still the safer and easier to maintain option compared to liquid.
So this build is a Gigabyte Gaming X X570 board, a Ryzen 3700x, 2x16GB Ballistix LT (micron E die, look for AES in the part number), and for now my Asus 1070ti Strix all bundled up inside a Meshify C with power coming through a RM750x (overkill). I'll eventually add some Arctic F14 Silent or Noctua case fans just because I can, but for now I'm just using the two included case fans from the Meshify C. I did NOT use the included thermalpaste. In my previous testing I've found Thermalright's paste to be just fine for performance, but I don't know how well it ages. I switch everything to Kryonaught since it has an effectively endless lifespan when used for air cooling.
On my specific board, there was only one viable orientation for installing the cooler. X570 boards have coolers on their VRMs which obstruct a lot of large CPU heatsinks, but the offset design on the ARO/Rev.B and moving the fan around gives the ability to work around it. I can NOT install a second Y147-A fan onto the heatsink sadly because of that interference. I really don't have a need for a second though, as my 3700x is reliably boosting to 4350mhz with the single fan staying at under 500RPM and only getting up to 52C. The loudest thing in my entire case is coil whine off my GPU, and to hear that you need to literally lay your ear against the top vent on the case. This isn't just true for idle, I'm talking while playing FFXV, Witcher 3, and Overwatch (my typical test gambit anymore).
If you want more flash, the M14O is the same exact cooler but with an orange top-fin rather than black. I typically like my machines to be black and quiet rather than flashy and covered in lights, but that may be prefered to some :)

Best bang for buck for Ryzen processors if : You want top cooling performance, Silence, understated good looks, IF your case can fit beefy size radiator. Average idle temps are 25-27C, fan loafs along at 350-375RPM-total silence. At full load, overclocking, benchmarks, etc., temps match or exceed cooling of all top rated similar radiators, and more quiet. Stock Thermal paste is excellent, and included. Have in past used Arctic silver/2019 mx-4 paste and 250watt radiators....But cannot hold candle to this.
Ignore those who say does not mount tight: once you start screwing down to back-plate fastener, the radiator pulls tight the back-plate from the processor. Easy to think something wrong as mounting is "different" than any other.
The Ryzen Only version is superior in two ways. 1. CPU cooler mounting base is larger reducing temps compared to universal Intel/Amd version. Fan attachment is improved and easier to attach fan after install. My install was motherboard already in case. Used foam inside box to place behind cutout of case behind cpu to press amd back plate firmly with case on side. Then you will not have trouble fishing 8 pin cpu connector ( very tight clearance/many motherboards and cases. Also remove Video card makes install easier.
Most forget this very old and renowned Taiwanese maker of premium air coolers (longer experience to others new to game!). Sorry BeQuiet, DeepCool, Noctura, etc., This ThermalRight cooler is the performance and value king.
If it fit your case, (mine Lian Li LanCool Digital) you like me, will never regret buying this cooler, and saving $30+ over any comparable radiator- performance, silence, understated looks considered!

First off, pictures don't do this thing justice. It is much bigger than it appears. I was shocked and a little worried it wasn't going to fit.
It was a rather tight squeeze to install on a m-itx motherboard in a mid tower case. I had to remove the rear exhaust fan in order to make this fit. I was worried that removing the rear exhaust fan would cause my case temps to rise. I wrestled this into position and it JUST fit! A m-atx board or larger would be better suited for an air cooler this size.
This cooler lowered my operating temps by 8*c compared to the CM Hyper 212 Evo I had installed prior. And I'm not sure how but the GPU temp somehow also dropped by a degree or two.
The case I have it in is a NZXT 400i.

the cooler it stays, the less fan it needs, can't say i've ever run it without case fans, but i use the same ty-147 in my case as the cooler, and they are very quiet
there is simply not a better price/performance ratio than this cooler except maybe the true spirit 140power, but wouldnt fit in my case

I was preparing to build up a new pc, and I start unboxing each component. When I get to the cpu cooler... Just wow... I believe I saw 8 heatpipes, the radiator and fan are huge, which give me the impresión that it does a really good job, it even came with a screw driver and anti static gloves! I was marveled.
Then I proceed with the building process itself. That's when I notice something; once I install the screw pillars to insert the cooler base as dictated by the instructions, the back plate is running loose! I mean, come on! That shouldn't be a problem for a 40 USD cooler. I've bought cheaper coolers and nothing like this has happened. This is a cooler that is advertised as an AMD Ryzen exclusive, yet I can't use it on my Ryzen 2600?
Now I have to run with the stock cooler until I can fix this...
