Well I tired 2 of these and never seems to work right now the one I have had for 1.5 years just died. My issue with it was it some time would not power my sub's even though it was on? never knew when I would have bass or not? I had a cheaper brand capacitor in my truck that has never given me this issue - just works. So I just went with a cheaper capacitor and works fine!
Things I liked about this one was the easy hook ups, no need to distribution blocks. Just in's and out's - which is probably why my subs would sometime work and not other times because it gets all power via the capacitor? Small size, pretty compact and 5 Farad was over kill for my subs so now I went with 2 Farad.
All in all its a nice design but if it never really worked reliably so in my case more than a pain than helpful. And now I have a working system with a capacitor that cost about the 1/3rd the price as this Stinger.

I have a 1971 Ford Ranchero...Yes its a classic car and i was having some serious voltage draws and light dimming from my Zapco 750x2. This Capacitor took car of the problem with ease supplying my amp with the voltage needed without dimming my lights or instruments. I recommend this cap with anyone with a high power amp. Oh! and my bass hits harder than it did before the Stinger 5 farad cap...Good stuff!!

Not very happy with this. The claim is 5 farads. But it won’t keep up with the demand of my Skar Audio RP 1200.1d. Lights still dim. Even with the voltage adjustment on the side at 15.2volts still can’t keep up.

Does a great job providing reserve power/amp consistency while preserving secondary battery draw when engine is not running. Install instructions are vaugue (treat the fancy diode like a simple one and charging/discharging is easy) we on Vaca for 10 days came back started car turned amps on and 14.2v. This is not an alternative for a Dual Purpose Battery, Big 3, & HO Alternator Upgrade. This is a reserve power boost, if you are having issues with headlights/tail lights/etc dimming... THIS WILL NOT FIX NOR WILL ANY OTHER CAP! Yellow Cap, Mech Man, and 0/1 BIG 3 are your answer... do not trash a solid product operating as it should!

Didnt really need this as i have an agm battery but figured this will help keep the agm battery charged faster when im in deep loud bass notes. So i did a test with it connected and with out it connected. No it wasnt alot but its enough that on certain songs when the bass note is long the capacitor recharged that space instantly where the battery would take about 8-10 seconds longer to recharge the same amount.

I bought this cap in 2011 and it worked fine until last week when it died sadly after one year of service. 2 JL Audio Wx6 12'', 1000W JL Slash Amp, Pioneer 120BT Head unit, Kinetic 1800 car battery. Stinger wiring kit works fine but the cap is crap. I give it 3 stars for the fact that it lasted a year and worked fine. I give it 2 stars for the fact that it just failed for no reason.
