You have to compare this to the Galaxy S II and the Iphone 4. And in general, you would get a good deal for the price.LIKE;* I did like that the software is updated automatically, so I could update to Android 4 right away.* I did like the screen size and the resolution. But I once compared it with a Galaxy S III, and there was no fight, S III won in resolution by far.* I did like the material, it looks like it is well protected.DID NOT LIKE:* I did not like that it looks sometimes that it has trouble finding the GPS.I would recommend the Xperia P to those not wanting to pay about 250 dollars more for a Galaxy II or III. But I realized after getting my Xperia P, that for 50 or 60 dollars more, you can get a larger screen and resolution with the Xperia S. I would have payed the difference. I don't know what I was thinking, but now that I got mine and compare with more expensive cellphones, I could have gotten something better just paying 60 dollars more. And the Xperia S is still way cheaper than the Galaxy S III and the Iphones.In general, I gave 4 stars because it's an excellent deal for the price, but you can get more if you get the Xperia S.

This is an awesome phone.I upgraded from an Xperia x10i mini, and going to this, I am amazed.Pros:It has a great big screen with good quality, instead of only 3 colors, Sony decided to add white, so it is a lot brighter, also in sunlight, than others.So far it has the android 2.3, but the upgrade to 4.0.1 will come some time soon, in the fall.One thing I did not know until I bought it, was that it uses MicroSIM, so I had to get a new sim-card. This was not said in the previews and on Sony Mobile's website.The camera is 8mp and it aslo has a front-view vga camera for videocalls.The touchscreen can be controlled with up to 4 fingers.The phone is made of steel, so it can handle some scrathes and a few falls, but if you get one that is not silver, the color will scratch. I therefore recommend getting a rubber-cover for it.Cons:Xperia P has an internal memory of 16 GB, where about 11 GB are available. Sadly, there is no slot for en extra memory card, but I figured I could live without. 11 GB is still a lot.The speaker is pretty decent, though I have heard better (my x10i mini was probably almost just as good).Another thing is that the battery is only 1300 mAh, which is not much for a phone with a great big screen like this. You may have to charge your phone up to twice a day, if you use it very heavily. On the other hand, it charges very quickly. From 0 to 100% it takes about 2 hours. If you turn the phone off while charging, it takes less. If you make sure you turn off wifi when you don't use it, and other battery-suckers like it, the phone may need to charge once a dayOverall, despite the cons, I am very pleased with this phone, it gives me great entertainment, and I do recommend it for you Xperia-lovers.

As for as I'm concerned,the mobile phone is1. Very good with great package of technology (1 ghz dual core,1gb RAM, good graphics gpu,NFC,White magic technology, etc )2. Very light in weight,3. Awesome display resolution,4. Best video quality, and5. Mind-blowing white magic technology.6. Walkman with In-ear headphone is top of all.7. 8 mp camera with 1080 p video recording is on its best.but I ve found some cons in this phone.1. Even though the RAM capacity is 1 GB, the mobile phone lags a bit in ICS 4.0.2. The Automatic screen rotation has some bugs. When I rotate the screen during the main screen (desktop screen) it goes weird, full black display with battery info,time, notifications at the top row. and also the screen flickers. (had reset it twice but still experiencing this issue)3. dedicated loud-speaker is not that good to hear songs. and also it pointed towards the right side so 1 sided audio doesn't impressed me enough.4. Inbuilt-Battery is the worst idea.. it's not at all lasts for a day. some time If u browse for 3 hours the battery will ve gone to 0%.5. No sd card slot. sony should have considered this.And about the package, I didn't receive the HDMI-media cable. It clearly mentioned that the box has HDMI cable. but I found only an empty space inside the box at the space for HDMI media cable. I have to make a compliant regarding this.

Would not suggest this phone. Purchased as a gift for my mom to replace a phone she was having trouble with - and ended up with some of the same issues. Screen is not very big - much smaller than it seems in the images. Should have looked more closely at the dimensions. Hard to work with - texting is horrid on these phones. I have a touch and sending messages is easy - these phones are awful. Does not get a good signal for phone or internet. Have to randomly turn off then on to get it to work at times. As with many phones now it is a pain to get it to charge. Have to wiggle the plug and hope it charges properly. When I first got mine and I got hers I was very impressed. Screen is beautiful - great colors, seemed to work well - but the longer we have had them the more I wish I had just bought a Google Nexus. Won't purchase another Sony phone.

I bought this phone after I have spent nearly 13 years with Nokia, but since their migration to Windows Mobile decided to move away from them and try the android system. After making the respective study, I decided on this Sony Xperia by large Characteristics and value. Just turn it on and connect to internet notifies you of the latest android update available for the phone which is downloaded via a PC and the Sony software. I have a week on the phone and I feel is tremendous equipment. It responds very well overall.The only two negative comments I have are:- The call audio is too low to be heard even at maximum volume available. This is inconvenient when you receive or make calls in places where you do not have almost total silence to hear clearly. The solution I opted for this problem was to use the speaker, but also becomes uncomfortable depending on where you are. I have to test with headphones to see how they listen.- The second problem, which is not a bad news but all these smart devices today, is the battery. This did not last more than 6-8 hours doing moderate use, otherwise it can take half.Of the rest I really like this phone and recommend it.

This is a very good phone with latest features from android. When I bought this phone, i got an ICS version of android already installed (I didn't have to install ICS, it was already there as SONY promised to come out with ICS version soon). But, the only problem as we all know was the battery. I had to charge my phone every one and a half day (one charge per 35-40 hrs) which was actually not so good. But, after a recent update which came out in 12/03/12, my batter life has improved almost twice!!! Good processor, excellent display, excellent camera, excellent sound, very good battery life, latest android features with no lags for just $300? Take that haters!!! Trust me, I like my phone better after comparing with iPhone 5 which my brother bought recently. I am not exaggerating because I have this phone. I have owned a variety of phones before with different operating system like iOS, webOS and android. I think android is better among all, with iOS being second and webOS third. Definitely a 5 star after battery life improvement!

Great phone...definitely a iphone alternative at half the cost. i would have given 5 stars if the updates were better de-bugged. I updated the latest and had problems with the phone that took me two days to correct. Also the software that goes on your computer is not well thought out. It wants to copy aqll your email lists even if you don't want it too and then you have to manually delete as desired. Plus I am still having trouble downloading internal photos using the phone as a form of a usb. There is most likely an easier way but the phone handbook is pretty sketchy and using sony's web site hasn't improved these problems...they are hard to contact and get solid answers from.From a android platform phone standpoint this is a really easy phone to use, has a lot of free apps and is fun to use. the camera works great in all but the closest focusing. too much close focusing on the zoom produces grainy photos.

I chose this model for the screen size, aluminum body, product reviews, and price. I wanted a mid-size unlocked phone to replace my aging LG BL-40 (new chocolate). In comparison with my previous phone, the Xperia P is a huge improvement.I've used the Xperia P for about a month now and I love it. It's fast and responsive. It was easy to upgrade to ICS and setting up the connection with my service provider was straight forward. Call quality and camera are excellent. The size is perfect for me. I'm glad I didn't go with a bigger (or smaller) phone. The battery life exceeds my expectations. It can last for more than 2 days probably because I don't use data transfer and only check emails or connect to the web occasionally via WiFi only.The Xperia P is a well built Sony smartphone which I hope will last me a few years.

I purchased the phone in August think that Sony would know something about making a phone.I am very dissappointed with the quality of the phone. It does many thing but making or receiving calls effeciently. Take almost a minute or more to make a call.In 3 months the SIM-card lid fall off by itself, I called the warranty they told me the serial number does not belong to U.S. instead belongs to U.A.E and they refused to honour the warranty.1. SONY is international company and should honour the warranty.2. There are fraud resellers who are selling non-US phones in the country without telling you, I bought the phone from: HassleFreeCell seller at amazon.Both Amazon and HassleFreeCell have refused to help me out here.

I bought this on a short trip to the Bay Area among other things. I was excited to have a phone that was cheap and looked great to develop some Android apps (after rooting it). But I got a big surprise when I opened the box and it was empty! It did have some cables (USB cable and power adapter) but the phone was missing. I am really sad, because as I said before I thought this phone was going to be great, but I am sure this problem will be solved thanks to Amazon's great customer support, and when that happens I will be happy to actually grade this phone based on its performance on day to day tasks.UPDATE:Amazon's customer service was great without asking a single question they sent me another phone, is there any company in the world that has such a great customer service as Amazon's?UPDATE:Awesome Phone, has some great hardware and a sleek look. It is great for the puropse I bought it (Android App Development) and as previously stated Amazon's support is terrific

I bought this phone about a 3 weeks ago and let me tell ya that this is an amazing buy for the price... This phone, although smaller trumps my fathers Sony Ericsson Xperia arc s by a good dealKeyboard- pretty good (not apple quality) but it surpasses other competitors futhermore it has a swype like text entering system that is pretty coolMusic-amazing clarity and crisp bass about sums it upprocessing speed is quite fast and the ICS update works without glitches(for now):)Sony s own touches to the phone really makes u wanna use it just to see the screenBattery life aint that good but will last a day with heavy internet usage and probably 2 if ure lucky:) but terrible battery life is the norm for smartphones so I can live with that! Overall its a good buy and extremely worth it!

Coming from an LG Optimus G2X, first of all, I really appreciate ICS and all the goodness the Xperia has under the hook...so far I love everything about this phone to bits. The display seems way better, and while I'm yet to try out the all-hailed WhiteMagic, indoors everything looks crisp and clear, and without any screen bleeding issues.The music player is a breeze to use and setup, and the lock screen widget is very handy...I recall having to get an extra app on my previous phone before the music experience was as good as the Xperia's. I'm no audiophile, but I like what I hear. Other basic stuff seem to work very well...wifi & bluetooth setup is straightforward and no weird disconnections so far. I did have to fiddle about with the microsim before I realized you really need to push it back into the sim tray before it's securely locked.I think that's the much I can say so far given I've had the phone for about four hours now. In case of anything, I shall post an update. All in all, a solid phone with a premium feel to it. Would have been nice to beef up the battery capacity a bit, but given my average usage, it'll do just fine

Absolutely love this phone mind you though this is the first smartphone I have owned so I did a lot of research before buying one. I looked at the iphone and other smartphones and I was surprised by the quality and craftsmanship that Sony does with their phones.I took it to the AT&T store to activate and they had no problem with it in fact they really liked it and got compliments from them. I hate having the same thing that everyone else does so I felt that the Xperia P was the perfect phone for me and I haven't had any complaints since I bought it about three months ago.

After unplugging this phone from a full 100% overnight charge it begins counting down within seconds. This happened within the first few days of unboxing. 100-70% in less than 60 seconds.The signal goes out and will not return until reset by going in to airplane mode.The mail application is pathetic.Today all my contacts mysteriously disappeared.One positive note:GPS navigation is great.I purchased this phone, because I wanted to something other than my iPhone.My carrier is T-Mobile.

Bought this phone for my mom. She doesn't know how to use 85% of it's capabilities, yet she loves it, and so do i. The one downside to this phone is the built in 16Gb, especially if you're a memory user (photos, music, videos). My mom isn't so this suits her perfectly. I though the silver would have been cheap looking, however quite the opposite, very classy looking. Took it to a booth that installs ZAGG screen covers, which is across from an apple store, the guys at the booth were blown away at how much better than an iPhone this was. The display is brilliant, very vivid colors, and the phone looks very unique. I probably would purchase one for myself had it had the t-mobile wavelength for 3G.Definitely worth buying.

This phone is amazing! It has a sleek design, a fast CPU, plenty of space, lightweight, unlocked, easy to handle with one hand and beautiful. It plays radio, and has a HDMI port for your TV.However, the phone could have been superb if it had a better camera, supported for 4G network, had better battery life, less wasted space (the screen could have been bigger), had memory expansion slot, shipped with Jelly Bean OS (Sony promised an update to JB sometimes in 2013) and removable battery.Overall, I would buy Xperia P again and again over many other smartphone in its rank and market price with no hesitation.I recommend this product to you.

Simple the best phone on earth. For those of you looking for an Android device look no further.Display is awesome, if you own a Sony Bravia TV you'll know what I'm talking about. This one came with Android ICS already installed. The 8 MP camera will blow you away, needless to say all the phone-related features.Everything worked as expected and beyond. No more confusing user interfaces and endless menus and configurations, make it snappy with the dual core 1 GHz CPU.You'll feel like you have a little PC in you hands. So it's up to you to discover the rest. I'll guarantee that this one won't disappoint. As I said, simple the one and only phone!

Its a very good smart phone ! i like it very much ,,,, all the features in it are excellent, the display is also very bright and the speed of the processor is very fast. Camera quality is awesom. but it battery timing is not very good. but overall its a perfect for me. <3

This phone is great. The Android customization by Sony is explendid. This phone is quite fast and have enough space to store music, photos or any tipe of archives. The only fault...the battery, it's drained very fast and for one that doesn't want to carry a charger everywhere it's somehow annoying.

This is a pretty good phones. As of now ut has fallen at least ten times out of my hands and it looks (almost) like new. The inly drawback so far is that it is still hard to figure out. Like all other Xperia phones I have had.

Xperia P is combination of Sony hardware design and Google android, It's reliable, and tons of app to download, Unlocked phone gives you freedom of carriers. A real bargain price for all hardware feature, like front and rear camera, metal housing, etc. Forget about price and give it a try, you will see it looks, feel, works like USD$400+ phones.Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Bought this for my wife as an upgrade to her go phone for Christmas. She is happy with the phone as it is a significant improvement over her old non android samsung. The screen is good with good functionality and image quality. The camera is OK. It has all the android functionality. We have not upraded the android to the newer available version. The non user replaceable battery may be an issue in the future.

If you have problems, you will talk to tech support out of India, very hard to understand. To fix or replace the phone, they said it would take 14-21 days to look at it!!!!! I use it for business, and this is not acceptable. In addition, their "fix" did not work. Luckily, Amazon took the phone back, and sent a replacement in 1 day!!!!! While not thrilled still, I believe the problem lies more with Straight Talk, than the phone. Time will tell.

It has a gorgeous and stylish design. Despite his 4 inches display it is not a big cellphone, so you can handle it easily. From the point of view of the software it works perfectly, it doesn't lag, nor get stuck
