I honestly wasn’t expecting for this much punch and power

This is a rugged tough sleek and portable Bluetooth speaker for anyone who loves the outdoors. You never have to worry about it getting wet because it has waterproof capability – even in salt water – and it just sounds so good. The battery lasts 10-12 hours on my experience on continuous usage, but if you needed it for a weekend for a few hours each day, it’s more than sufficient. It sounds amazing – Sony does well with sound, and the speaker and bass is clear. I think this is a well worth product for anyone serious about good sounding music when they’re outdoors!

I really like this speaker. It’s bigger than I expected but the sounds and quality are also better. They weren’t kidding with they say this has extra bass boost. It sounds really good. I had a bose before which also has enhanced bass but that one the base was so strong I actually couldn’t turn up my music at all because it was just drown out by any bass.
This one sounds clean with a good amount bass. No tinniness or anything.
I got this for listening to music on my small patio but it’s powerful enough that I could use it in much larger spaces too.
I like that if I want to stick with Sony I can pair this with other Sony speakers in the line. I also really appreciate the various attachment for hanging this.
Note: it’s waterproof but only salt water resistant. It says you can use this by the sea but that doesn’t mean you should take it on the water.

My UE Wonderboom (received as a gift last year) stopped working and I jumped on the excuse to find something better (I never cared for the sound). I’ve had a Sony SRS-X5 (@SONY please bring this back!) for years and I hoped to find something with a similar sound, but with more portability.
I was a bit disappointed with the XB23 at first but, after some tinkering in Music Center and speaker placement, I fell in love with this speaker for what it is.
I get an impressively warm and rich sound out of this little guy (B+5, M-2, T=0) but only if I keep the volume between 1/3 and ½ on my phone (Galaxy S9). This will work great as a travel speaker on business trips but it’s not something I will take camping, on picnics, or even listen to around the house. I’m thinking of giving the XB33 or XB43 a try to see if they’re better (but those cheesy lights!).
At higher volumes the XB23 sounds tinny and the bas is annoyingly poppy but, and lower volumes, this little guy can produce a really enjoyable sound (the little passive radiators can only handle so much). If you’re looking for something small to keep at lower volumes (like a hotel room) this is perfect. If you’re looking for something to enjoy music outside or with friends, I’d say keep looking. – This is just my two cents and I welcome other’s input. Thanks for reading!

Far superior than SRSXB22 in my opinion. You can feel the bass. You can attach this onto anything for portability.
Easy to connect to, as easy as the previous versions.
The sound quality is VERY good for a portable Bluetooth speaker. The price is a litter higher than the average Bluetooth speaker, but well worth it in the end.

I’m super happy with it. I bought the JBL 4 for the same price. Was smaller and nothing nothing not even close to sound quality. Thus one fills a room. It’s deep and great for the price!!!! Very pleased. Want to buy more lol. Also color is gorgeous and I like that it’s larger than the jbl cuz I need it for my office. Very good quality sound. Thanks for reading :)

Sony has done it again! I have purchased many bluetooth speakers over the years. Some great, some not so great. This speaker hits all the right notes in many areas, waterproof, easily portable and simply amazing sound. The bass is superb; very rich. This speaker can easily fill up a medium sized room with great sound and it is my go to speaker when I'm going out and about. It fits easily in my shoulder bag, battery lasts long and I can have great music to listen to when I'm out with my camera or tablet all the time. If you're looking for a high quality bluetooth speaker and don't want to break the bank, then for $100 you've hit the jackpot! Thanks, Sony!!

Not worth the buy. It plays for 3.5 hours max. I’m at work and I can’t step way to recharge it. For that price it better play over 5 hours. The little jpl clip I had played for 8 hours before I had to recharge it.

The sound quality on this speaker is excellent. It picks up bass mid and treble very well. I can feel three build quality every time I pick it up... Its solid and the buttons are very responsive rubber. I like to use it in my home office as a conference speaker and it exceeded my expectations there also. I gave it 4 stars because i think its a little overpriced at $80. I get that I'm paying for the Sony name, but I think it should be more like $65.

Sounds fine but I'm not an audiophile. It fills my 500 sq ft apt well enough. My only gripe is that you can't disable the BT voice yelling "blue tooth connected". It also doesn't automatically re-establish the BT connection when I get home, though I haven't investigated this. For now, I have to select the device from the list and connect. The mic works for phone calls. I took a brief call and it was issue free. I would buy this again and am considering get more of them.

Needed a different bluetooth speaker for the upcoming yard work. I have always been a Sony fan and this product has kept up with my expectations. I needed something that was waterproof to bring outside and didn't feel like bringing out my SRS-X55's outside since it's not made for that at all. The speaker is quite light and the bass is plenty for me. I already have the 'Music Center' app from my other Sony Bluetooth speakers but you do need to install that to take advantage of all of the features.

Its not bad. I got it to replace my megaboom for the shower since the megaboom doesn't skip songs very well. The megaboom definitely has a better sounding speakers that hit a lot harder. Overall its not bad though I like being able to hang it and I like having actual buttons to control the music and battery level readout button.

Love how light the speaker is and how portable it is also really like it is usb type c. When you get the speaker I suggest downloading the music center app and changing the speaker settings to bass boost and change the speaker to stereo sound, it will sound much better. Ended up getting two one for dad and for myself.

I've tried numerous Bluetooth speakers over the years with only mediocre results; I am pleasantly surprised how well these work. I take it out to the patio to listen to tunes. The sound is great. Love the fact these are water resistant. And they charge via standard USB-C. The USB-C to USB-A cable they provide is very short (maybe a foot) so you might want to invest in a longer cable depending on your needs. I bought a second speaker for my wife (a blue one). She loves it too.

This speaker is perfect! I listen to classical music all day, streamed through my phone. The sound is perfect, for my purposes. I can place it in a strategic location in my apartment and hear the music clearly almost everywhere. The same goes for podcasts I listen to when not working. I wish it had an audio jack to attach to my two computers—especially for my virtual dance sessions—but I’m thrilled, nevertheless. I guess the speaker technology isn’t compatible with the Bluetooth technology in the PCs. So, I’ve made adjustments to accommodate this. Regardless, thank you, Sony, for this little gem!!

Love it so far. Use it on my bike rides, on my patio, around the home. Definitely loud enough. Are there louder options? Definitely. For this price point though, I’m content.

This is a great speaker! Easy to use, turns off after not using it as well. I was a musician for 30 years so I know good sound. For the money quite pleased with this speaker. You could get better I’m sure but for this price you can’t go wrong!! Ive Used Sony stuff all my life. It’s bulletproof. Buy it!
