This was the exact thing that my son was wanting. It was new, Sony brand, looked like a baseball, and only cost me 44.00, no shipping or tax. At Wal-Mart it cost 60.00 for a new controller and it is just plain. When he told me what he wanted, I did not think that I would ever to be able to find anything like that, but leave it to Amazon. If you need or want it, that is the place to go.

Do not buy a controller from offers max they're counterfits the stickers look as if they could be legit becasue they have the actuall model numbersof the controllers that a real dualshock 3 would have and the boxing is identicial to the real DS3 but once you open it you can tell by the feel lookand stiffness of the controller that it's not real there's also no reset button at the back of the contorller under the lights that identify what contorller # is being used you can see the light shining throught the pin hole just watch what you buy these cheap Ds3 are probably all rip offs ven thought they look good

When I initially bought this controller, I thought it was going to be your usual PS3 controller. It turns out that its a little different from the rest. The triggers and buttons require a little more pressure than usual to press down, which gives you a more precise feel to what your controlling. Still it will take a little time getting use to it before getting that extra precision. Other noticeable differences are the PS button is changed to the P3 button and the vibration has a weird sound to it. Overall i think its not game changer but is still a good controller with minor changes that will challenge PS3 vets to master.

This is a really neat design for this ps3 controller, although the ps3 sucks this controller makes it look neat while it sucks. It does feel flimsy and too light, not worth the 50 bux what are you gonna do?

I was so excited to get this gaming controller. When it arrived I ripped the box open and plugged it in. The controller was a knock off from China. I was so disappointed. I cannot believe that Amazon will condone this!!!!!! I am so upset and angry!!!

Hi. I'm nor sure if this a legitimate sony controller. It really discharges really quickly and it never stops charging. Also it seems it will broke in pieces at any time. Wouldn't recommend.

I had this controller for at least 3 days and it broke on me it has a movement lag wen i play COD black ops. so i was bummed out because i wasted money for a junk controller i could of just bought one at walmart and i bet u it works even better than the ones online.

The item arrived on the day it said it would but the item arrived broken. I asked for a new one and the nicely told me they would and the company was nice to work with. I doubt it was the company's fault. The joy sticks are a little stiff but it works perfectly fine.

All PS3s come with this controller in black. The six axis dual shock 3 is better then the previous generation of controllers but the pertinent consideration here is that it's silver. There are two considerations here: 1) If you have multiple black controllers it's hard to recall which is which in a two player game 2) Ever since the last firmware update it's easier to keep the controllers rotated to maintain charge (since the controllers will now only charge from the PS3 base). With these things in mind I suggest all your controllers be different colors and that you have one more than you think you need, my next will be Red then blue if I think it's necessarily.The plastic itself is silver, so I haven't had any paint chipping issues. But otherwise it's identical to all other PS3 Dualshock 3 controllers, just as it should be.

In my experience, no controller works quite as well as the original. Yes, the Sony DualShock is pricier than the third parties', but no one, not even Logitech, seems to be as well-polished as the tried and true DualShock.I've been burned (not physically) by bad controllers enough times to know better now. Sure, I can buy a Nyko or Mad Catz for half the price, and take the gamble. Or, I can just buy the sure thing.I think that assurance is money well spent.That said, I will admit that the ergonomics are not (and has never been) quite right for the Sony controllers. Some complain that the grip angles are wrong or too slim. I personally don't take issue with either, but I can't figure out why they round the top of the analog sticks. They're textured and grippy enough for dry thumbs, but after a while, your thumbs will build up a little sweat. And a little is all you need for it to get slippery. This isn't as unusual a scenario as it may sound. When you're resting your thumbs against a rubbery plastic surface, they will get a little warm and become just slightly moist. The only way to maintain contact is to occasionally wipe your thumbs.That seems a bit silly to me. This minor design flaw is most noticeable during intense first-person shooters. It's even a bit frustrating when playing easy-going games like LittleBigPlanet which uses the analogs almost exclusively.If they would implement a more aggressive texture (like skateboard tape) or depressions (like Xbox controllers) this would be perfect.Fortunately, there are some easy add-on solutions that work very well:FPS FreekSpeedFreekPS3 Dual TriggersYes, that means spending a few more dollars on top of your $50+ controller, but they're worth it.

Yes, buying third party hardware may be cheaper, but it will also lack the quality that the first party equipment has. Do yourself a favor, avoid the third party controllers and purchase this one. The quality is top notch. This controller is the identical one that comes with a brand new PlayStation 3, but in silver tone instead of black. I'd also add that the silver color is harder to find in retail stores and is certainly more expensive everywhere else. Amazon has a great deal on the silver, would definitely recommend buying it here over any other retailer.

I bought the MLB Edition to go with my favorite baseball game...MLB 11 The Show and it is a sweet looking controller. Nothing about it is different than Sony's other color controllers besides the baseball design. It just looks great while you're playing baseball. Highly recommend it!

Solid piece of equipment and will last. This is much better than a lot of the less expensive controllers and will/can last up to a year longer than them.

I bought the PS3 with the Move bundle. So, it only came with one controller. I needed a second one and this was going for cheap (I think around $33 shipped at the time). It was a no brainer. I prefer Sony branded products for the PS3 over aftermarket ones anyway. It works great.

I really like this controller. Its better than the original to me, I like the size since I have big hands it fits well. Worth the money if you want to make this your second controller.

So I got this controller September 21, 2010 and it was working fine up until now (exact date contoller stopped working: November 21, 2010)! The L1 button is stuck and I can't even play games on it anymore. I took care of this controller too!!! I never dropped and I actually barly used it. I'm really ticked becasue I can't even return it or exchange it now becasuse my time expired! Sony, what the hell? You usually make good products! I'm SO dissapointed![Edit] I called Sony and they are now fixing the problem. Let's hope all goes well.
