I purchased this HDD as a an upgrade for my PS3. I have the original 60 gig model and was getting tired of not having enough space for the latest demo download or game install.With this drive, I have an abundance of hard disk space. I am also running Ubuntu 8.10 on the 10 gig partition. I find it to be a very slick OS.As far as the HDD itself, I went with this model because I knew the PS3 came with a Seagate. I have had no problems with it, and the upgrade process went very smoothly. I purchased an external enclosure for my old drive and formatted that FAT 32 for use with the PS3, Mac OS X, or Windows. I am very happy.

Product has a good price for the capacity and "warranty" (in theory). It fits MacBooks.In less than a month of use it's making strange noises/clicks and failing to be recognized while booting.Tech "support" is useless, they didn't try to troubleshoot the drive, apparently the problems are common. Warranty? Well Seagate wanted to replace my new HDD drive with a refurbished one. If I knew, I would have bought a refurbished drive in the first place for probably 25% less.

this is a steal. I had a 20gb ps3 and swapped that out for this massive 320gb hard drive. The whole process didn't even take 20 minutes. The only problem i had was with the getting the screws out of the enclosure. they are very very easy to strip. But i made it through and after formatting the new hard drive i had about 292gbs left. i feel like a new man

I bought this for my 40 gb PS3. The installation was extremely easy, and the PS3 immediately recognized the hard drive. After formatting, I had about 298 gb total space. Also, it runs very quietly and has a fine transfer rate. Highly recommended if you're planning on upgrading your PS3 hard drive.

I purchased this hard drive to upgrade my PS3. It literally took 15 minutes, and most of that time was waiting for the PS3 software to back up and restore the game data from the old 40GB drive. Thank you Amazon and Seagate!

I've had many seagate harddrives over the years and NONE of them have ever failed me, whether it's internal or externals. This 2.5" is for my macbook, and it is working perfectly. quiet and not too hot.
